This time I was there only for a manicure. Ive been using Scissors for years. Gina is an excellent manicurist. It usually lasts for two weeks, with possible need for a little touch up before my next appointment. I do use my hands a lot. The owner and personnel are all friendly and make you feel comfortable. As they have just moved to these quarters, the place is still in the midst of a redesign.
Beautiful welcoming salon. Dia did exactly what I asked for with my hair. Watching her cut my hair you could see she took her time, really looked at her work to make sure it was clean and neat. There is a manicurist and full service spa on premises as well.
Love this place, great service and very friendly.I finally found a salon I’m happy with!
Fantastic people. Great hairdos and very friendly
The people here are very friendly and professional. I needed my hair fixed because the last place I went to was not great and they knew exactly what to do to fix it and give me what I wanted. I love my hair they did an amazing job.
Dia and her team are the best!?
The Best!!! Great stylists, No waiting, Wide selection of products and Super clean!! They will never disappoint you..Thank you all.
I have mixed feelings about this establishment, but I would have to say I will not be returning. My hairstylist did a really great job listening to what I wanted for my haircut and trimmed exactly the right amount of hair off. She also did a great job with curling and styling my hair. However, by the time I got home the curls had started to fall out and the braid and pin were coming loose. I left the salon extremely happy with the way my hair looked, but for it all to come out I felt like it wasn’t worth what I paid. The salon also charged me an extra $65 for the service.Everyone at the salon was incredibly friendly and sweet, except the receptionist. She was extremely cold and kept bothering my hair stylist. I made my appointment for a wash, cut, blow dry and style which takes 2 hours hence the time for my appointment was 10-12. 1 hour into my appointment she says she has a client waiting outside. 20 minutes later she asks my stylist again when she’ll be done. It made me feel quite uncomfortable and I felt like my appointment time wasn’t being respected. Although my stylist didn’t seem to rush, it might have played a part into the quality of her styling.Overall, I would never pay that amount of money to get my hair done for it just to fall out within an hour. I had to redo my hair myself before the event started so I was quite disappointed.
Great experience. I was in search of a new salon. Dia cut, colored and highlighted my hair. She did an excellent job. She is very kind and took her time to make sure I got exactly what I was looking for. She was fantastic with all three services and transformed my hair. I’m a very happy customer.
I had reached a point where any keratin procedure I used failed to keep my frizz in check for more than a month or two then Joe recommended Magic Sleek. I can honestly say I am very impressed with the results, we have had some super humid days and my hair has responded beautifully. Once again Joe’s professional opinion and expertise in applying this product has tamed my unmanageable hair. Not only is the frizz gone but my hair feels healthy and smooth.
The staff were extremely friendly, saw me right away, and helped me get a hairstyle i was proud of after another salon had completely ruined my hair. They were very adamant about making sure i let them know if i start to not like something so they can fix it. Best service at a salon ive ever had on my entire life.
Amazing staff. services are worth every penny. I highly recommend Abby Meyer for any color or cut.
Ever grateful to Dia and her staff for always making my hair coloring experience a comfortable one.
For many years I searched for the right hairdresser and when my coworker and best friend suggested Scissors Salon I gave it a shot and I was amazed. Dia gave me the best hair cut and style with highlights a total transformation. Not to mention brow threading to perfection. I wont let anyone work on my eyebrows not even myself since Dia. This salon exceeded my expectations so modern and professional and happy environment I really feel relaxed and pampered when I visit.
Had eyebrows tattooed by Annette. I brought a picture, she said she could do it, she drew them on, all was good. Until she tattooed. Then she just did whatever she wanted. The are not anything like I wanted. They are so high, I look mean. when I said something about them being so high, she said dont worry they are swollen it will be fine, and when I returned for a touch up, they would be like I wanted. Well, they did not change, they look horrible, and I will NOT BE LETTING woman touch me again. This is my face! Now I have to have them removed. I will not be doing this again. I was so excited to be finally having decent looking eyebrows, and this woman made me look like a freak!!!
I recently got my hair done here and I can’t say enough good things about the job Pat did! I love my new hair color and layers! Would recommend this salon to everyone!
I get my hair cut by Chris(tine?) and I always get compliments on my do. Recently changed my style (see pic) and was very satisfied.
Talented staff with outstanding experience in cut technique and color to get the hairstyle and look right. Worked with my natural hair texture to have the style I wanted. Professionals who have good client relations skills to build long term relationship, especially if my cut needs tweeking after I get home and try to style it myself without success.
BEST haircut ever! Styles great even when I do it at home. Super professional and nice staff plus reasonably priced. This place is a hidden gem. Im so glad I found it.
When I started visiting Annette for my acne, she reassured me that she would improve my skin tone and get rid of the breakouts. I have seen a great improvement in my skin tone and breakouts are not as consistent as before. She does a great job in removing the white and breakheads leaving your skin looking great. My skin is looking much better from getting a facial from her. Thanks for your great work and professionalism.
I went in with blue hair, color and cut later...walked out with green hair and not the cut I showed her. yes, my hair was damaged but there were another process that could be been chosen to fix and help my hair! 1 week later I was told I would get a refund, in the matter of minutes I was called back and told I would only recieve half! Not a happy Customer with the salon owner!!! if they were a truly respectable business....they wouldve refunded my money!
Finally a place where I can go for a great haircut. Walk out always feeling like I was listened to and the stylist took her time.
Scissors Salon & Day Spa has a highly experienced team of stylists and manicurists. From the minute you walk in, you feel welcomed and pampered. I drive 30-45 minutes to use their services and hope to continuecdoingso for a very long time!
Visit once a month and get a great haircut from Christine. Lovely place and pleasant staff
Friendly staff and not overpriced, especially by syosset price standards.
I love Dia and Scissors Salon. My mom has been going there for years and loves it as well. Everyone is so nice and very professional.
Really enjoyed our experience at Scissors salon. Diya is really good and very sweet. Highly recommend!!!!!
Joe is a master level stylist with amazing cutting technique that makes my hair style last several weeks, and his ability as a colorist is unsurpassed...especially highlights and double processing. NEVER DISSAPPOINTS, and never overcuts, so your hairstyle is perfect the moment you walk out the of the salon
I followed the new owner, Dia to Scissors from her previous salon. I absolutely love her. She is an artist. I tell her vaguely what I want and she makes something sensational with it. Although I was disappointed that she moved to Syosset, since it is sort of a hike for me, Im going to continue going there. Ive never been so happy with my hair (and its easy, too!). The staff at Scissors is friendly and accommodating. They are also very good at scheduling me in for last minute appointments (I just found out I have time this evening to get my hair done, you wouldnt be any chance be able to fit me in? -- yes -- it is always yes.) I cant comment on the other stylists competence, except that I usually see people leaving with very nice hair. :-) -- Sylvia
From a mans point of view scissors is as good as it gets. The team is extremely friendly and highly professional.I highly recommend scissors to all who want great service and a fabulous haircut
Dia who is the owner is extremely unprofessional.I visited her on St patrcks day she said she is been drinking since morning couldnt even stand straight!!!! she managed to die my hair half haphazardly leaving all my whites still white...I let it go.I went there again and what a mistake it was. I asked her to dye my roots brown. She turned my hair orangeish blonde. It was a nightmare!!!. then she tries to cover it with a toner.. it looked exactly the same!!! She was working on my hair for 2 hrs and still was orange, she does not know colors...She noted how horrible my hair was. Then she asked me if i am not happy i could go another time to fix it. I had to take time in my busy schedule and going through the process of correction for the third time. She did not even bother to check my hair to see how the correction turned out, my hair turned into Auburn!!! she didnt bother to even check my color and i was so frustrated that I left. She does not know colors and when she makes a mistake doesnt know how to fix it. Although all the respect to Joe who is so professional and called me apologizing for Dia and offered to fix the color.I AM NEVER GOING BACK THERE AGAIN.....
Joe gives a great hair cut, color and style.
Im probably too old to still be wearing my hair in the style of David Cassidy and Freddie Prinze (circa 1973), but Ive got a full head of it and, gosh darnit, Im gonna take care of it! I wish someone would have told me ten years ago that my $10 haircuts looked like $5 haircuts, but nobody had the guts, so I had to find Scissors and I had to face the myth-shattering truth that, when it comes to haircuts, you get what you pay for.Ive known Joe for a long time, but I had somehow come to associate Scissors with one of those ladies places with the fashion magazines and the toe baths and I decided it wasnt a place for me. One day, a friend with a similar mop of hair mentioned that he had been a Scissors customer for some time. He suggested that I check them out, so I walked in on a Saturday thinking I could just get a haircut on the spot the way I did all those years at Super Cuts. Apparently, it doesnt work that way. Did you guys know that you have to make an APPOINTMENT if you want a real haircut? So I walked around looking like a caveman for a few days until my appointment date finally came. Scissors turned out to be nothing like I had expected. I didnt sense any of the snobbishness that pervades many of the salons my wife has been to and, although most clients were women, I was surprised to see several male customers sitting for regular old haircuts. I immediately felt at home. The haircut Joe gave me, despite my constant prodding (No, dont cut there! Leave that part alone!) was easily the best Id had in about ten years. It actually had shape and the ends didnt look like they had been chopped off with a hack saw. I had forgotten that I wasnt just wearing a cheap hairpiece all those years.Ive had several additional cuts by Joe since then. Sometimes I convince him to do what I think is right -- and I am always wrong. Rather than flog me over the head about it, he always graciously takes me back in the chair a few days later and fixes it. Im not suggesting that you go to Scissors expecting your stylist to touch up your hair pro bono every few days; Im just pointing out that the people at Scissors want you to be happy and will do what they have to, within reason, to make that happen. The price for a haircut at Scissors, while more than twice what I was paying at the bargain hair cutter, is surprisingly reasonable compared to other salons in the area. During my years as a performing musician in the 1980 and early 90s, I used to pay $37 at a now defunct salon in Woodbury. All these years later, my haircuts at Scissors cost way less than that! Most importantly, they are worth every penny.
Clean. Comfortable. Chic
Fantastic service, very talented hairdressers!
Friendly beautiful staff
Love my Diushkiiiiiii❤
Good work
