I first found out about MedSmarter at an AMSA convention in Washington, DC. They had one of the most noticeable booths in the vendors exhibit hall. I had quickly filled out a form and put it in the raffle drawing bowl! I was completely surprised when their office contacted me to notify me as a free USMLE Step 1 Prep Course winner.I had not studied for my boards as I was a caregiver for my dad with Parkinsons. However, I wanted to start thinking of my medical career again, and this opportunity was the stepping stone I needed! The option to attend live online made it easier for me. Medsmarter was a phenomenal experience. Before starting the program, I was trying to juggle several different resources and unsure how to approach studying for Step 1. Once the program started and Doctor Untara began teaching my sense of chaos and unease dissipated. She provided structure to my chaotic approach. I was looking for an intensive program for CS Prep and found MedSmarter through Google. I read that they had individualized attention, and that is what I was looking for. Just finished my CK course with Medsmarter. Blessed to have met Dr.Untara Shaikh who guided me through out the course. The course here is completely focused on students. Tutor works with you trying to identify your weakness and then help to overcome them. Everyday random quiz, Questions focused on complicated concepts after every topic. How to approach Questions and tips on what to focus in our question stem during those question sessions. How to gather important information during self-study more efficiently and work on Differentials while solving questions. Personalized study plan according to your satisfactory pace. These are my overall personal experience which I gained during my course. The best part is even though course is over Dr.Untara Shaikh will always be available to help with any doubts or concepts which you are having difficulty with. I did my course online, amazing job done by Don Mahmood, who organizes online session. No issues at all regarding online sessions during these 2 months. I did the Step 1 review program with MedSmarter Test Prep. That was the best decision I took. It was very thorough and well rounded. At the end of it all, the difference was clear, and I am glad to announce that I am enjoying the reward of a competitive score.

When I started the program I had been trying on my own and felt lost I didnt know where to start. Dr Untara Grounds you in a way that you know how to study and how to see the information in a way that will be asked. I took the Step 1 review here. The facilities, staff, and curriculum are amazing, they keep class size small and gave me 1 on 1 attention to focus on where I was weak. Class was very interactive and helped me with recalling information on the exam. The program director Dr. Untara kept in touch with me making sure I was covering enough material to review everything well before my exam.Edit: Ive seen some 1 star reviews here and they are from fake accounts as none of those people were ever enrolled in the program. The people here went as far as to help me out and make me an instructor for MCAT so I can earn while I prepare for Step 1. They want to help everyone as much as they can and it shows.

I found the MedSmarter program extremely helpful. I not only attended the Step 1 Course, but I also did the one on one tutoring with Dr Untara. Dr Untara is the best. She is very caring, compassionate as well as very smart and knowledgeable. All of the staff at MedSmarter are very professional and personable. Everyone makes you feel like part of the family. I really enjoyed MedSmarter and have passed Step 1. I will be attending for 2 CK in near future and would highly recommend to anyone looking to prep for their USMLE board reviews.

Too keep this short, I would not reccomend this as a place to prepare for your Comlex or USMLE if your goal is to pass. They are completely out the loop on whats important for your exam and they dont have an effective method for doing questions. Many of these reviews you read here are also not honest. If you want a solid program, go to either wolfpacc in florida who has a 100 percent guarentee to return if you fail or The pass program who also has the 100 percent guarentee. Failed my USMLE step 2 CS exam now I cannot match. Absolutely rude staff and they guaranteed me that i will pass and now I failed the CIS and ICE sections The instructor shoaib did not cover enough topics and stated that he knew the cases frpm the test center, none of the cases showed up on the exam. Total waste of money and time and I have wasted so much money on the ERAS application service. Their patient scenarios were nothing like the exam the cases did not prepare me well. When i asked for a refund they hung up on me and stopped answering their phone. Turns out 3 of my friends also failed with this USMLE prep class, practice patients were also a disaster and they gave the wrong feedback for the physical exams and grading rubric. .. .

I couldnt be more grateful to Medsmarter for their expertise in preparing me for the STEP 2 CS. I am currently in my second year of residency and looking back they were one of the best investments I ever made. Having to take the STEP 2 CS a second time was daunting and demoralizing. Wonderful family environment with structured curriculum.

Ive now gone to Medsmarter for help for Step 1& 2 (CS & Ck). Passed Step 1 & CS first attempt and taking CK in a few weeks. This program is designed to give students a structured, organized plan. Everything cost money, but coming this far and dropping out was not an option. I spent the money because I felt I was not progressing by myself the way I should have. Medsmarter can not be used alone as a source to pass, and they will tell you this themselves. Along with Medsmarter, incorporate UWORLD, First Aid, and pathoma. It seems like a lot, and it is, but this is the life we chose!I truly am grateful for the Medsmarter team. Being a US- IMG student, my school did not fully prepare me for the challenges the USMLE require. I felt doing this course put me on the same playing field as US medical students. They saved my medical career, but I was also committed and spent a lot of hours outside the program doing UWORLD and first aid. If you want it bad enough, then you will make it happen! I would strongly recommend this course to anyone who is studying for the usmle exams. I am an American born Indian trained img and I enrolled in the 1 week step 2 cs course with medsmarter. Dr. Sam and Dr. Untara are both very great at preparing students for the course with lectures and mock cases and they alsooffer useful tips for test day. I took step 2cs one week after finishing the course and passed.

Medsmarter is a great prep program if your interested in a focused and more individualized approach to studying for your USMLE Step exams. I am a detail oriented individual with a lot of knowledge however I did not know how to focus that knowledge on exams. I often have detailed answers when they are looking for commonly tested topics. Medsmarter reviews all the details neccessary to be successful on the exam. They tell you what you need to know, and for me helped with test taking skills!!!
