We had a great experience shopping for a bike for my tween. After an experience being up sold at a bike shop (with minimal guidance) we decided to check out SB. The bike staff helped us find multiple options, let us test drive (even on a busy weekend afternoon) all of them, and then hooked us up with appropriate accessories. I’d recommend SB Sunnyvale to any friends looking for a bike purchase or repair.

Awesome place to take care of your body and mind. I bought two tennis rackets for kids on two different visits. The first visit I was asked if I have a membership to get a 10% discount, I forgot I have one and I said no, so I got no discount. Then after leaving I was why the hell I said no, maybe I do have membership, so on my next visit, I said I do have membership and can I get discount for the other racket (I had the receipt with me)? To my surprise, the answer was of course! I got discount for the two rackets. Worth paying for the one time membership.Other than the above story, the place is always clean, people there are willing to help answering any questions you have, better experience than visiting Amazon.com

I re-stringed my tennis racket here. And I can only say the stringing was barely okay. Whats worse is that my racket frame was scratched a few places during the process. That shows how careless they are. I would not recommend this place for racket re-stringing.

Went here to get swim gear as well as new running shoes. Multiple staff members assisted, everyone was helpful and courteous. I got great guidance when buying shoes to help ones that were best for someone who already has their own inserts from a podiatrist. Highly recommend this store for outdoor and sports equipment/gear!

I typically prefer to shop in store but came across a good deal online and needed the item quicker than anticipated. Shout out to Kate Roth for the wonderful service! She was super helpful and was able to work out the logistics to ensure my orders arrival date. Whether shopping in store or online, its always a pleasant experience shopping at Sports Basement.

There are covering lot of sports items, it is good to have such stores where you can get recommendations. But they dont have latest tech in gait analysis for shoes. It is Offerman wrong manually and will harm your gait and performance further.

Great staff, easy parking, good selection, excellent prices and frequent sales. SB gives back to the local community. Shopping there is a win-win.

Actually had what I was looking for when all the other sporting goods stores were sold out. I called ahead and they were able to put the item on hold for me.

Nice place to shop for sports wear and inventory.The space is huge and packed with everything.There are separate sections for different sports and it is clearly marked with signs under the ceiling.They have couple fitting rooms.Check it is fast and staff is helpful enough.

Its not so often that I write reviews (this is actually my first ever), but I wanted to take a moment and thank the super helpful individual in the snowboard section (I believe his name is Jeff or Brett? Muffled voice behind mask). Not only was he SUPER knowledgeable and informative, but he managed to hook me up with a board, boots, and bindings, all the while tending to others who needed help as well. In spite of the large number of people who needed help, Jeff was quite patient as he called back and forth with other stores to check inventory and place holds. Thanks Jeff!

We had been to this store to rent accessories and clothing for ski trip. Definitely good quality rentals. Make sure to go early as they are very popular! We didn’t find any good options for buying gloves or snow pants. Those that were available were either too expensive or not good quality. Not sure if it was seasonal crunch or covid effect, but wouldn’t recommend for retail shopping. Surely recommend for rental shopping.

Excellent Bike Service. Have been going there consistently for just over a year. Started out with ski rentals. More recently using their Bike dept for bike builds and accessories purchase. Staff both in synnyvale and in Redwood city have been very generous and helpful.

Went to purchase a snowboard for my husband for Christmas. Got expert help! Love how they are nice and knowledgeable. And hey, $25 one time fee to be a member and then get 10% off all year long (20% until Dec 31st 2020!) What more can I ask for.

I have been to this location multiple times - a one stop place to rent ski or camping equipment as well as other sports goods. The staff is very kind and helpful, always offers knowledgeable advice when asked. The curbside pickup is very quick too. They have a temperature check station at the entry installed during Covid-19 pandemic.

Staffs here are always very friendly and helpful. We picked up snowboard rentals, did the edging and wax. The guy also helped me to adjust the foot settings in my own board.

Its a nice well equipped store, thanks to the staffs for their time (JJ) in explaining us how to chose the right ski and ski boots.

A very good sports accessory shop with a good selection of brands for all gears. The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable. They also have rental options for gear and rental bicycles and also do bike maintenance.

I love the Sunnyvale location. I have shopped there for years now and I have never had a bad experience. The bicycle guys are excellent. I used them for a buildout of a frameset purchased elsewhere. They are knowledgeable and friendly. Its my go to place now for gift cards!

Large warehouse for sporting goods but surprisingly difficult finding what you want. Plenty of categories of products but selection is far and few in between. Seems like they just kinda dabble in every category but not a lot to choose from from each.

The checkout process (even when using electronic payment) is not contact free. In the time of covid, it really needs to be.Plenty of parking available. Clothing, general camping selection is good though technical gear for climbing or mountain biking is so so.

They were really busy and we had to wait a little bit for service. After picking up our rentals, they didnt give us a receipt or a due date of when to bring the rentals back.

Sports Basement is forever a go to place for basic sporting needs. They frequently have discount days if you sign up for their promotional emails.

I went there to buy myself skis and ski boots. Staff was personable and friendly. 21st anniversary prices were pretty good. Had to become a member in order to benefit. My skis werent available in the right size. Had to be ordered and transferred from another store. I paid for everything (including work on the bindings) and waited for the store to notify me. This is when the minor confusion started. When I was notified, the staff hadnt worked on the bindings, despite their internal memo. It turned out that the skis were at the front office but needed to be transferred to the back office. At first, it looked like I had to come back a couple of days later. However, one of the staff members remembered me and was able to work on the bindings right away. 15 minutes later I was done and happy. Overall, good experience. The only thing that can be improved in my opinion are the store-internal information flows.

My family and I have come here many times. The workers are all extremely kind, and this store has anything you’ll ever need sports related. They have excellent discounts and major brands. The bikes are also very well priced.Again, I cannot emphasize how kind the employees are!!

Everyone here is great and super helpful! Definitely coming back here for any rental equipment I need. I recently snowboard for the first time and they really helped me out with the equipment needed. Prices are also very reasonable. Rob at the equipment pickup counter was awesome, they all are 😊

I went here to buy shoes for me about 6-7 years back on the recommendation of my PT therapist. I need only shoes with extra support and Sports basement has a lot of styles. My whole family,my cousins and friends have been buying not only shoes, inserts but other stuff from here. This is the only place I shop for my footwear. They have a lot of other things other than shoes. I would highly recommend this place.

I also took the ski bus straight to Tahoe and they preloaded my skis. I then bought a helmet and some other wjnter stuff 50% off at their end of season sale. Overall amazing experience

5 stars and beyond for their bike shop. I had cross-threaded a crank arm where the pedals attach, and was looking for a quote on just one crank arm. The bike mechanic asked me to send him a picture, and even said, just bring it in before you buy anything. Within 5 mins of going in, he had rethreaded my crank arm and checked for anything that might be wrong, and said you can leave a review if you want, the industry needs simpler instructions and parts, and people helping each other :) Made my day, best service ever. Id been shopping for bikes here before also, and he was also super helpful! Highly recommend.

We like this sports basement store. we encourage all our parents and players from our club to go and shop from this store. They have good prices compare to other soccer stores.the customer service is great, because every time we need help to locate or find an item, they help and guide us until we find it.

Sports Basement is the Bay Areas answer to REI. Believe me, youll want to be members of both co-ops! The Sunnyvale location has a huge open floor plan, where you can find anything you need to stay fit or enjoy the outdoors. Weights and fitness equipment, tents, Levi jeans, running shoes, tents, road and mountain bikes, ski gear... Sports Basement has everything! Plus, bring your old shoes to donate in the bin by the front door.

This is the only retail store I feel safe going into. They take masks and safety very seriously, temperature checks at the door, good signage everywhere, and the same super helpful employees as always!
