Today, I received confirmation from the IRS that they received my OIC that I personally prepared and submitted. October 28, 2014, I signed a power of attorney authorizing ITR to represent my case with the IRS and file my OIC, neither document was executed. On July 20, 2015, I made a final payment of $1650 to Integrity Tax Relief. In total, I gave him $3500 to assist with filing an Offer of Compromise to the IRS. Initially, he started the work while I made payments. He reported that once I provided the balance he would make the final application. After giving him the balance he reported that my application would be submitted. I became alarmed after the IRS placed a lien against me and I learned that my application was never submitted by Integrity to the IRS. I contacted Integrity for six months and they gave me the runaround. In January 2016, Integrity asked me to sign another application that was inaccurate. The egregious errors set off the last alarm and I went to the IRS to ask for their assistance. In two hours with assistance from an amazing staff person, I completed and submitted my OIC application to the IRS and within 14 days I received a letter of confirmation. All the commercials tell you not to talk to the IRS but out of desperation I met with them and they provided clear direction. What took Integrity Tax Relief more than a year to allegedly complete took me 2 hours. They did not render any services promised.
