Beware - the 45% contingency fee is based on full valuation savings. If you have a homestead exemption, the contingency fee ends up being much higher; about ~56% for us.I was pleased with the ease of initiating the process and valuation outcome. I was pretty rushed going through the process last minute and probably didnt pick up on the fine print - but I definitely expected such a high contingency to be based on actual savings rather than inflated savings. They were friendly when I called to confirm the savings calculation and were accommodating with my request to cancel the service for subsequent years.

I sat on this for some months because even though my husband and I came out on top anyways in regards to our property taxes, I believe one should be treated with respect and professionalism. How you treat people will always come back to you. Representative Jeff Hoffman was supposed to help us fight our property taxes. After talking via email on various occasions with Jeff, in which I can provide, he stated that he would represent us in our meeting with the appraisal board. Long story short, after I asked him numerous times do we need to provide him with any documents, he stated no and that he have everything that was needed. Our court date arrived and passed and we never heard back from Jeff. The reason I was going to let it go and didnt want to write about this because my husband and I was abundantly blessed in more than one ways with our taxes regardless. Nobody should be treated as such! I dont know the reasoning for Jeff Hoffman lying and leading us on, nor do I care at this point, but to have someone represent your company with that level of unprofessionalism shouldnt be tolerated.

I dont typically write reviews, but Rainbolts performance justifies it. I just signed up, provided the information requested and then a few months later I received a notice saying they reduced my appraised value SIGNIFICANTLY! They did an AMAZING job and I would highly recommend Rainbolt!

I just received my bill for property tax reduction based on a lower assessment of my townhome. They lowered my assessment buy over 10% which is spectacular. They also adjusted the bill based on having an exception for being over 65. These are the guys to call if you want to try and reduce your property tax.great customer service and response. -UPDATE. After my negative review was posted, I received a phone call (not an email) from John Rainbolt himself. Last year, I was not happy with their communication via email because I rarely check it. Tax documents were sent in the mail (not email) from his office with return paid envelope. He stated that he would be happy to address my concerns. I am hopeful that we might get some money back. That being said, I am updating my review of his company.

Mr Rainbolt addressed a challenge with my case and repaired a concern I had. I appreciate that he saw my perspective and proactively managed the outcome.

Be careful this is a scam company they will tell you that they will do the taxes for one year and they let you signed the contract that never end. Do not use this company be careful don’t use them

I called today to inquire about a settlement with Harris County. Jeff spent quite a bit of time explaining the iSettle offer and my options at no cost to me! Additionally he explained the Harris County model and how my rates were calculated as well as what I need to look for if I decide to try to fight for an additional decrease. He was honest about rates and overall very pleasant and helpful. It is rare for someone to provide caring and an honest opinion when there is no $$ in it for them. Thank you Jeff. I will call you for the next protest.

They were able to provide results. The communication was not what I expected though. Basically hired them on their website, responded to an email and several months later received an email saying it was done. If you are familiar with the process and just looking to have it done without needing questions answered, I would definitely recommend them. Im sure you would be able to call with questions as well.

Ive been in my home for about 4 years at the time of this review. In this time my appraised value of my house has risen and I tried to fight the property tax items before but the city doesnt make it easy and it is too much of a hassle. I found these guys and filled out the online form and they took it from there and lowered my appraised value. I only had to actually talk to a person once and that was becasue I wanted to ask a few questions. Very happy with their work and ease of the process.

John Rainbolt is excellent to work with and did a great job of reducing our property tax increase on several rental properties. I had never used a tax consulting service before and I wish I had started working with Rainbolt & Co years ago. It would have save me a lot of money! Ill be using their service every year. Very reasonable rates also and Mr. Rainbolt is very responsive to my emails.

Successfully reduced the appraisal. Easiest process ever because I did not have to go down to do all this myself. The only issue for me (and the reason for 4, not 5 stars) is that when you sign up, you are automatically signed up for every year unless you notify them to cancel. Not a deal breaker for me but might be for others.

Rainbolt was able to get my property taxes reduced substantially! I attempted to get them reduced several times in the past to no avail. The Harris County Appraisal District just refused, even when I very astutely proved that they were over valuing my property, to reduce my property tax.

I was always going to protest my taxes as they seemed to rise exponential even in years when the housing sales were down. I replied to a mailing Rainbolt had sent me and they got me a $54,000 reduction in property taxes. The second year they were able to keep the appraised value the same, which was great because the area I live in stayed flat. I will use them every year and they do the homework with integrity.

I called at about lunch time on the deadline for filing a protest after my attorney forgot to do it. John Rainbolt got the phone himself and promised the protest would get filed THAT DAY. I sent some pictures and comments about the house, to their team via email in the following weeks, and got a letter saying my property tax bill would be adjusted downward. After contacting this company my taxes shot through the roof. All of a sudden after 5 years of barley any increases my taxes went up by 60k and 90k. I feel this company might have affected my values so they would make more money when they try to lower them. They keep emailing me asking to sign but I suspect foul play. Avoid!!!
