I would highly recommend this rescue organization. I worked with kind and compassionate people who areHelping these innocents with pure intentions. They give their time and energy to help them and really don’t ask for much in return. We should all consider donating to the reduce so that they can keep these poor babies thriving. I am so thankful for their kindness and compassion for this little one we found around Katy by a dumpster outside of a circle ⭕️ K. Remi I such a sweet and playful baby. Someone will be as lucky to this baby to their household as this baby is to have a family. Love is all it takes. Litter box trained (so young) and eating food as well! πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•. Thank you to SOCA for helping to pair Remi with a lucky family.

Last month I adopted Leo (renamed Koda) from SOCA and I could not have asked for a better experience. SOCA goes above and beyond to make sure that all their animals are going to great homes and are going to be taken care of. It’s sad to see people trash this organization for doing their job in ensuring the best home for the animals. Their fosters and volunteers work extremely hard and are some of the most kindhearted people I have ever met. I would definitely recommend SOCA to anyone who is looking for a companion animal. Thank you SOCA!! #adoptdontshop

I made a post on Facebook trying to get help for a super friendly kitten living in my apartments. Only a couple of people tried to reach out to help but Elizabeth with SOCA was one of the first and has been very patient with me while I was trying to get the kitten. She helped me during this whole process and made me feel reassured that he was going to be okay. Shes so understanding and she just wanted to help me try to get this little guy in the right hands. She gladly took him in today and hopefully we are one step closer to getting him to his forever home! Thank you SOCA and Elizabeth for your dedication on helping these animals!!!!

SOCA is an amazing rescue that goes above and beyond to find the absolute best homes for their animals. Rescue is hard work, but with fosters, mentors, directors, and an amazing veterinary team as awesome as theirs I know the cats and dogs are getting the best care possible! I would highly recommend them to ANYONE looking to adopt a cat or dog. I’ve worked hands on with Rita and Amy the past two years and I love working with them. They both have a true passion for helping stray/sick fur babies and do everything they can to ensure all animals end up in fabulous homes. We do vet checks, home checks, and even offer sleepovers so if the pet isn’t fitting in you can simply return them with no questions asked!

I am so disappointed that people would trash this organization. Having known someone that adopted from them, it clearly states in the contract, (that if an animal is not properly cared for, )it can be retrieved by SOCA. It is their only intent to find loving, caring, homes for pets. They are not political, nor do they discriminate against ANYONE! Their mission is to help the homeless animals, and to help stop the growing population of unwanted animals. Why would they volunteer to help get animals adopted, if their motive was to get them returned. Please use common sense, you must have been misinformed if you believe this organization would harm any animal, or separate a owner with their adopted pet. Please think about this. There is more to this story than you are hearing!

I was a supporter of this organization until I became aware of the situation with Susan Parker and her cat, Clyde. They have refused to return her cat AFTER funds were raised from the public to pay for his medical needs. They are not communicating with her to give her any good reason why her cat has not been returned. They have not refunded the funds raised to the donors. They need to step up to the plate and do the right thing. I think their 501(c) (3) status should be reviewed.

Its a sad situation when someone reaches out to you for help with their pet (only because their vet was closed). Then they raise money for you to help their pet, you take the money and then refuse to give the pet back to the owner....with no explanation. This Is exactly what happened to my friend. Many people that donated money to SOCA-FBC for this specific pet have now requested their money back due to the fact that they are refusing to give the pet back. In this situation, something is very wrong. Pets deserve compassion and so do people. Return Susan Parkers cat back!

I adopted a cat from SOCA in 2019. In January of this year, he became ill. My vet was closed, my van was being repaired. I called a friend who suggested SOCA could provide immediate medical treatment, and so we got Clyde over there. He was treated, improved rapidly, and needed 10 more days for a course of antibiotics. He was suddenly transferred to another medical foster family, and I was not able to get any more updates. Nothing but an insulting attitude about my ability to care for Clyde, which appear focused on my being disabled, only because he had a UTI and constipation. They called last week to say they are keeping him. They have ignored all my emails requesting his medical records. I do not know where they have him. I am fighting to get him back. SOCA has been fully reimbursed for the medical treatment they gave him, and I can reimburse them for anything further they have done, when I have Clyde (who they call Leroy) home, and they submit all his medical records to me.

I spend over 2 weeks trying to adopt a particular dog from this shelter. No one would ever answer my calls and I only had a representative text me twice. She told me there would be an update on the fosters decision... 5 days ago and I got NO update. Today, I check SOCA’s website and the dog I applied for is gone and I was never given a fair chance or updated. Frustrating to waste 2 weeks of my time with an unprofessional shelter. Would not ever recommend.

Give Susan Parker her cat back. She did not break any terms of her contract. She reached out for help only because it was a friday night so she could get immediate care for her cat. Cats do get sick and she reached out for help. This organization communicated very little with her and she was so grateful they were helping her cat only to find out they were not giving her cat back. Shame on you Soca FBC

SOCA-FBC goes above and beyond to do whatever is in the very best interest of their animals. They’re thoughtful about those they save, spare no expenses and provide all fosters with any resources they may need. They strive to find the very best home for all animals in their care. SOCA always puts animal wellbeing above all else, which is critical to rescue philosophy. Keep doing such amazing, heart wrenching work for the FBC animals and community!

Elizabeth from SOCA was amazing to work with! I desperately needed to find a new home for my cat Cali, that we had for 6 years. We are moving in with family in a few weeks and I cant take her with us. Cali has anxiety and needs to take medication daily so I was really worried about finding her a home that would be patient with her. A few days later Elizabeth contacts me and has found her a home. I even got to meet the new owner which really helped me sleep better at night. I know that she is in good hands. Thank you Elizabeth and everyone else who helped in this adoption. I cant thank you enough.

This place is big. We found a kitten in a parking lot. The little guy was going to be eaten by vultures. We took him to CAP and he was quickly adopted. Keep in mind they dont always have space. The best thing to do is to physically go there before 10am. That gives you the best chance to find space for your rescued animal.

They gave us clear directions on his care for the next few months and have been available anytime we needed anything. I love to send them updates on his growth. He is a cherished part of our family. I started as a foster with SOCA. I am still a foster but have also adopted through the organization. I decided to become even more involved with my personal time with SOCA activities because I believe in the mission, and this is truly one of the most organized rescues that handles a large volume of animals that I’ve come across. It unfortunate that there are so many deserted and uncared for animals in this part of the world, but we each do our little part every day to save, vet, socialize, and place animals into loving, lifelong homes. The hours aren’t always easy, the heartbreaks aren’t always (ever) easy, the decisions to be made aren’t always easy, but myself and the other volunteers do it as a labor of love, for the animals.

I have fostered for SOCA now for a little over a year. I have done 16 different fosters since I have started and that does not include the countless number of pups I have come across that SOCA has taken on and adopted out. SOCA as a whole is so extremely dedicated to finding our animals the absolute best forever homes. I would without a doubt recommend them for ever and ever. I have personally adopted 3 dogs and my family members have also adopted from the group. Oh And did I mention that I have made some life long friendships with the most awesome people who enjoy the same things I do? Making the animals happy and healthy! SOCA is amazing, and it’s a simple as that. So if you are wondering wether you should and try and adopt an animal, I HIGHLY recommend you go ahead and fill out that application. You may just get your forever companion out of it! Or if you are wanting to foster, I promise this is the group to do it with!

I learned about SOCA when I picked up my mom’s dog from getting groomed at Petco. Being a dog lover, I stopped to get a dose of affection from the dogs and visit with the foster parents who were there. I wasn’t ready to adopt one at the time, but was very impressed with the organization’s knowledge, caregiving, and commitment to the animals. Three months later my circumstances changed and I desperately wanted a dog again. I immediately thought of SOCA, filled out the application and then met the foster family and the dog. They asked valid questions and worked to be sure the dog and I were a good fit. They have been supportive when I’ve had questions or concerns, and gone above and beyond to resolve them. Because of their dedication, my dog is a loving part of my family, and I’m the beneficiary of the love and laughter he brings. πŸ™

My family and I just submitted an application for a puppy with all of the great tag lines great with children and other pets. But were later emailed a few days later saying we werent fit because we had small children.Mind you in our application we stated we just lost our dog of the same breed Stafford Shire Terrier to natural causes that we owned for 10+ years and all of our kids grew up with. After overcoming our grief and trying to find a new puppy they dismiss us like this.We even tried to call to have a discussion about it and see If we could come there to meet with staff and the puppy but instead of a return phone call, we were emailed a generic BS statement about the puppy not being a fit for us due to our childrens age. Contradictory and very discriminatory/upsetting for what weve been through. Then to throw further insult to injury they add a clause to that specific puppy only about not being able to be adopted with familys with small children and now its their PolicyI will be reporting this to whoever I can it was very unprofessional and devastating.

My references were checked and I was approved. Susan his foster came over with him for a meet and greet and potential a sleepover... he never went back. SOCA helped me through his heartworm treatment - resources, suggestions and support. SOCA - FBC - their team of volunteers really care about the animals in their care, And making a perfect fit - e not only for the animal but for the individual or family.

I am really disappointed with this place! We sent in adoption papers for one of their puppies that we wanted to rescue. They emailed us back two days later to tell us they didn’t think we would be a good fit because the puppy bites... well in my history of being a dog owner and a dog sitter of numerous breeds ALL puppies bite. Some a bit worse than others but with the proper home and the proper training the puppy will learn over time. My biggest problem is I am aware of the breed, the history of the breed and what comes with owning a dog but when you go on the dogs site one of the first things on its profile is β€œgreat with children” but yet you just totally contradicted yourself and said you were concerned with the dog being around children. So either you don’t know what your talking about or it was a sugar coated excuse on why we weren’t chosen. And the breed it is almost anyone I know, google and one of my best friends who owns one says they are amazing dogs ( mind you they have two children 4yrs and 4montha and the dog is 2) I have nothing good to say about this place and would rather purchase a dog from a breeder then ever go here!

This is a great non-profit organization! They are saving/rescuing dogs and cats from uncertain futures. The animals stay in volunteers (foster parent(s)) homes along with any animals they may have. This is much better than being left to roaming the streets or being kept in overcrowded animal shelters.SOCA-FBC takes time and care in matching families with the right pet. They do this not only with the pet as a foster, but also in finding the pet a furever home.I have the most amazing furever dog by the name of Kona because of Saving Our Companion Animals - Fort Bend County. She came into the rescue with 8 two week old puppies. She was heart worm positive, severely malnourished and also rare parasites that invaded her entire body. Took some time, but she was right as rain with the proper vet care and SOCA-FBC.
