My tire valve stem was leaking air. Chad inspected it really fast and instantly told meit was clogged. He fixed it super fast and filled all my tires with air. Chad was very friendly and provided superior customer service. Highly recommend this place. It was my first time visiting, but the customer service is very great I will visit again.

This place is awesome! Had no fluid in my wind shield washer. The guys there very nicely filled it up at no cost to me. I gave had service done there previously and they are always great!!

Don’t recommend this mechanic shop at all. They quoted me a price and asked me to drop off the car. After an hour they called me saying that they would have to increase the quote by 300% since they were wrong in estimating the initial quote. After making changes to the types of repairs, I called them again after 5 min to cancel the whole repair itself and they said they have already started the process and when I asked them how long will it take, they replied saying they would take at least 4 hours. Although I am not a mechanic, I know that an oil change would not take 4 hours to complete. Like I said, will never recommend this place to anyone.With reference to your reply, you quoted me while I was at the shop and not over the phone. Please get your facts right before replying.I repeat: You quoted me while I was at the shop, not over the phone.

If you like to get over-priced quotes and stealership pricing, come on in. First off, they are generally nice and have been in the community for many years. I have taken my 2011 Altima for oil change service and have had no problems. After having my valve cover replaced and completed, that same day I left the shop the car started overheating and called them to let them know I need to return. Had the car towed back and next morning they called me to let me know that the radiator needed to be replaced and have new hoses installed. Price quoted: $1300. (are you fkg kidding me?) Went to another smaller shop in town and got the service completed for $544 with parts and labor. Mike Tates said that they needed to have the front bumper removed and thats why it costs so much. Good luck and shop around.

I had a flat tire and didnt make it all they way to the shop so I had to walk and get help . Mike was so nice and professional met me were a parked my car and helped me get enough air to drive it to their shop. They were so professional I was in and out in minutes. I will definitely be referring my friends and family members.

I just took my car here. The guy that worked with me definitely didn’t seem like he cared to help me or for the business. He didn’t even ever look me in the eye. I went for an alignment once and I thought they were great, that’s why I went back. Guess I just got the wrong guy! That’s just too bad! Really grinds me gears! Just really something about good customer service and common courtesy that goes a long way. Needless to say, took my patronage elsewhere.

They always do a good job here and in the past I’ve never had issues but NO ONE IS USING PPE. I understand you are “clean” or taking precautions, but you don’t know which client will walk into your shop with a sick mom at home or auto immune issue. No masks, no gloves. Absolutely irresponsible whether you believe in the fact or not. Had to get my inspection done before work so no other option but to leave my car here. Had to wipe everything down knowing they didn’t take care in ensuring that their customers would be safe. If you’re getting your inspection done or getting tune ups, go to a dealership where you KNOW they’ll be wearing the proper protective equipment.

These guys, who work at Mike Tates 99 Tire & Auto, 4940 US 90 ALT, are very professional, courteous, and honest! I am out of town and had my daughter take in my GMC SUV. They not only fixed it but as also dropped it off. My daughter and grandchildren didnt have to leave the house to go pick it up! My husband & I had to be in Fort Bend on the morning of Jan 10. I’m our way home which is quite a ways away, my husband noticed the back drivers side tire was losing air. We googled Tire shops near us & Mike Tate’s came up. It was great we were already basically in the parking lot. They put the spare tire on the rim for us very quickly & charged us 5.00. My husband had not gotten his pay chk yet & we basically had 3.00 on us. They said that’s fine. I will recommend this place to all my friends & family in their area & if I’m ever in this area again I’d go there before anywhere else. Thank you so much for your help !!

Mike Tates is excellent. I am the type that is always wary of repairs and being taken advantage of, but I was drawn by the great reviews to try Mike Tates. They did not disappoint- in fact, they surprised me! They are incredibly friendly and professional, honest and upfront. I had a belt replacement kit completed (car reached over 105K miles) and they did it that afternoon. Jason and Mark are extremely helpful and easy to get on the phone for quotes and updates. I went yesterday to have my truck looked at due to what I thought was going to be an expensive repair. I arrived and was greeted with a freindly genuine welcome. This was my first visit here, and let me say I am very impressed with the level of kindness and professionalism shown to me by everyone there. The guys informed me that the noise was from my brake pads, and was nothing to worry about because the overall condition of the brakes was still very good. Just some material oxidation was the most likely cause. Honesty is so hard to come by these days, and these guys are exactly that. They could have easily taken money from me, and they did not. When it comes time to actually fix something, I will only go back to them. Thanks Austin and Jason.

This is my first time at this location. It was a very simple process. They fixed what was needed and I was out withing 45 minutes for an oil change and break fluid. I appreciate the kindness of the staff and making sure my car was fit to drive .

Beyond impressed with this establishment. I had all of my brake pads changed out and everything was fine for about a week then I started to notice some rattling. My busy schedule didnt allow me to make it back to that part of town for another 3-4 weeks. Without my receipt and it being weeks since my service I was dreading going in and just knew it was going to cost me $200-$300 because they were going to find something wrong outside of their previous repair. No receipt needed cause the worker behind the counter not only remembered me and the make and model of my vehicle but he remembered exactly what work was performed on my car. They ordered the part and I was back on the road in @45 minutes free of charge. Only gave them 5 stars because 6 wasnt an option. They will get 100% of my business from now on.

Theyve been servicing our vehicles for years. Mikes staff has always provided excellent customer service and honest opinions. Whenever theres been an issue with a repair, theyve honored their warranties. Ive NEVER had the same level of service from nationally branded repair shops or cheaper, local alternatives.

I took my car here just for an inspection and they were super nice and honest about what I needed to fix on my car. The waiting area was very accommodating as well which is always a plus!

What a amazing guy ? I was there on last month because of 40 point free inspection promotion of AAA customer. They are approved AAA participant facilities but they dont know the deal of their company with AAA, the website of AAA clearly saying for 10% off on parts and labor and they want proof of that otherwise they charged you the whole amount without discount. And when u show them the discount promotion they act like they never did discount to anybody since the deal was active since 2017 to March 2018. And they claim very reasonable in price but they are not I checked them in replacing windshield wiper..Never recommend to anyone.

The staff here is so nice! came in for a regular routine checkup and they only recommended what was needed immediately for safety reasons and gave me a few things to expect for the future, very trustworthy by not pushing me to make a decision on what to fix, I definitely will be back!

Hello Mike, Based on your response there was multiple misdiagnosis. When taking it for a secondary review there was no leak identified in the rear axle seal and also the transmission did not need to be repaired. When asking your staff why the transmission was stuttering it was told to me that there were plates fusing together that would have caused the issue. I went to a toyota specialist and they said this a common problem in toyotas where the filter is clogged and needed to be replaced. The first sign would be that the transmission fluid was a dark color as told by the other mechanic and wondered why that was not stated as part of your initial analysis, versus directly stating the transmission needed to be repaired. This is not a review to bash your repair shop, just to note this specific experience. If I would rate this solely on customer service then sure, 5 stars. Everyone is nice and I appreciate the call back in offering to help me reduce costs. With regards for your request for improvement of your processes, I would ask that future customers with toyotas having these transmissions issues be looked at for alternative repairs.

This is a very professional shop. They do business the right way. I take my wifes vehicle and also my vehicle to get serviced here. You get in and out in a very reasonable time. My mother in laws ac went out in her vehicle and took it in the next day. By 9am Mark called me with an estimate and by 2 oclock that afternoon he called me that it was ready. I will pass the word on how professional this shop is from front to back.

I just bought a new car and went to get my tire pressure sensors switched from my stock tires to my aftermarket ones. Turns out I needed a new tire and the stock lugs didnt fit the aftermarket rims. Finding the right size of tire I needed was expected, but I felt they went out of their way to get the lugs- all with no complaint. It was a great experience.

I had gone to a tire place on 59 that was closer to my house in greatwood for a tire repair. I had terrible service before they brought my car into the shop. So I came here to Mikes 99. Awesome. They had my car in the shop in 10 minutes and I was out shortly after. And they were busier than the previous place who told me they could look at my car sometime within 90 minutes.This was my second time I went to Mikes 99 after going somewhere else first. Next time... straight to Mikes 99.

I decided to try out Mike Tates Telfair, after finding out the drivers guys were no longer there, it was too much of a hassle to drive towards Houston for them to honor my free oil change and I was very satisfied with the expertise of the service writers at Mike Tates, we talked about what the issue could be up front on the counter, and when the tech finished his diagnosis it was exactly what the service writer had predicted with me on the counter, nice group of guys who know their stuff! So I brought in my old 99 Ranger and thought they could offer me a cheap solution. However they charged me $89 for just doing diagnostics when i told them what the problem was and $36 for just bringing it in. Everything here is super expensive and inspite of being a student I did not get any discounts.Had to take my car elsewhere and get the whole thing fixed in as much as IO paid here for absolutely nothing.There are better options around if the money is coming out of your pocket.

Not the cheapest folks on the block, but they consistently earn our business. They remember our cars, and our cars issues. When it was time to put our old car to pasture because because it was slowly becoming more maint than its worth, they provided excellent guidance in the new (still used) one.

This place it was good for my car before the owner hired two new employees, hispanic people. Whar happens i had asked them the visit before to the last one, the cost of air filter change and they said that it will be 70 dollars therefore i went home and did it on my own for 13 dollars watching a video in Youtube. So when i was there in my last visit to get my cars oil change, one of this guys was rolling his eyes on my and look at me with devil eyes and turned around and talked to the other guy something and both of them were laughing loud and looking at me at the same time. Mr Mike i consider this very rude attitude not matter what. Firstable you need to send your two new employess to enroll in a class of customer service and good manners and secondly, you should consider all your customers at the same level and treat them with respect and dignity.

I had my vehicle serviced for a wheel alignment. When it was done I was surprised to see a Starbucks napkins inside my vehicle. Never been to Starbucks the night before and I knew it was just a box of Kleenex that is placed on the very same spot where the napkins was placed.

My experience with Mike Tate has spanned over 5 years. They were suggested to me as a highly reliable and competent shop for auto repairs and were the mechanic of choice for a family member. Thus, I inherited the relationship and had been their customer since 2012. At first the services I received from them were trivial - oil and filter changes, wheel balancing etc. And the satisfaction level was reasonably high, though these are services that it would take particularly high level of incompetence to not perform well. As i shall soon learn, Mike Tate is a shop where incompetence is found in spades.In late 2015, I had Mike work on replacing the power steering pump for my late model Subaru. Common wisdom is that this replacement be paired with a replacement of the tension belts. Hence, I arrived at MT with a OEM steering pump, belts and requested the task be completed. Therein began my series of misfortunes - first they failed to return the old pump back to me, but did so when I insisted upon it (the used pump has a non-insignificant scrap value that can be recovered when sold to an auto parts dealer). Moreover, it became evident that the tension belts were not adjusted to the specified tension, thereby creating a lot of slipping and screeching sounds. MT would fix that on a second trip, and I chalked this up to a simple case of human error on a busy day.Early 2016 I returned to them for a quick oil and filter change. Since my vehicle has high mileage, I use 5W-40 instead of the 5W-30 oil and I made this abundantly clear to them at the time of the oil and filter change. Supposedly the gentleman behind the customer service desk made a note, and then discarded the note as the vehicle was serviced with 5w-30. Intolerant of incompetence, I had them replace the oil and with a clear understanding that in the future, such errors would be unacceptable. To their credit, they were apologetic and replaced the oil at no additional cost.Mid 2016, while working on the vehicle (cleaning the air filter), I noticed something that had slipped my attention in the past - the front of the engine has a protective cover that conceals the tension pulleys and belts and is secured in place with a clip and a hexagonal bolt. The cover, was missing, and it simply placed in a different location in the engine bay, unsecured. Besides it was a rechargeable flashlight that had also rather callously been left in the engine bay. It was immediately evident that this was from the time I had to return to MT for adjusting the tension belts after the power steering pump replacement.Late 2016, I returned to MT for another oil and filter change. This time, I brought the oil with me, to insure that the desired oil was indeed used. The task was completed, and in keeping with the cliche of most auto mechanics; that of up-selling to the customer, I was recommended to consider changing my suspension system. Skeptical, I took the vehicle to a Subaru dealership where the certified mechanic, and a friend stated that the suspension system was not in need of any repair or replacement and given my driving habits, they would be good for another 50k at least.Early 2017, I inquired about a brake system servicing. I was informed that MT charges $299 per axle for replacing the pads, and resurfacing the rotors. Recommended addition to this task is a wheel balancing, not included in the per axle charge. Simple google search revealed that the cost is about $420 for both axles, parts included, and rotors replaced (not resurfaced).Late 2017, a final opportunity for MT to fix their relationship - they again overcharged for a differential fluid top off, improperly installed an oil filter causing an oil leak, and just to rub insult into injury, spilled excess brake fluid on the rear seat foot well by not properly securing the oil bottle with the excess oil. And thus, their track record of incompetence has precipitated this review.TL,DR - MT is not quite as competent as they appear to be, and are not focused on keeping the quality of workmanship high.

My car was overheating and the guys were very convenient being near my neighborhood, they fixed my Camry for a reasonable price and informed me the whole way through, will definitely be coming back.
