Their auto rate was always a bit higher than others but have gotten noticeably higher in last couple of years even though I never made a claim. But I stuck with them since I felt their customer service was better, but that took a dive too. In the couple times that I had to call them since 2019, each rep sounded condescending and was not helpful. So after 11 long years, they’ve lost a customer for good.
I BEEN WITH THEM MORE THAN 15 YRS I DONT KNOW WHY THE PRICE KEEP GOING UP AN UP
I was with Amica for years and never made a claim on my vehicle. I complained about my rate and they suggested a driving class. Passed that and the rate didnt go down. Then they went to a six month policy and the rates went up some more. I hardly drive this vehicle at all (~4,000 miles per year) and Amica didnt care about that. Well Allstate cared (they have a mile wise policy that charges only for miles driven) and with very little effort on my part I purchased a policy from them for LESS THAN HALF of what Amica was charging me. Too late wise.
Worst company ever!!! Cant wait to see this shady company go down!!
Ive been an Amica client for 28 years with excellent claims history. Apparently Amica initiated a new system to use the age of the roof as a premium cost factor. Not a problem, except the previous owners of my home did not pull a city permit or provide me with documentation to verify the actual roof replacement date. Amica refuses to accept the only documentation I can provide - the Sellers Disclosure - to amend the age of the roof. Instead they are using the date the home was built - over 35 years ago. Physical inspection would confirm the roof is newer than that. Needless to say I am disappointed and frustrated they are not willing to compromise with a date more reasonable.
So far I am Amica`s customer. Before, my auto insurance renovation was every 12 months. Now every six months. I never made any claim and I did not have any accident nor ticket. The price of my auto and homeowners insurance has skyrocketed. I called them and I was informed that they are not able to make any price reduction. Now I am shopping around to find another option.
Excellent service, expensive
After a great decade with Amica, things got really bad this year. For years I have had good home and auto insurance, good customer care, and good rates. In December 2018 they doubled the rates, so I went shopping elsewhere for home insurance. It was hard to leave, but I had no choice. Then in the summer of 2019, my car insurance payment lapsed because the card on line had expired, so they canceled the car insurance with out talking to me. So I went to the new home insurance company for auto. In November 2019 I received letters from a debt collector for the auto insurance payments!! Wow. What a change in relationship! Amica isn’t the company it was 10 years ago.
I was a customer when Hurricane Harvey rolled through. My home was mostly spared. I had roof and some interior water damage. Amica was wonderful! The following year when it was time to renew the premium went up as expected. No problem, they go up for everyone with every carrier every year. What was crazy was the auto insurance went up to the WOW phase. (I dont remember the numbers). I didnt want to but, I switched carriers. This week I got a flier stating that Amica had revised their premiums and asked as a previous customer to give them another shot so, I did. Im up for renewal with Progressive who quoted me $1600/ yr for my house and $930/yr for two cars. Amica wants $1800/yr for the house (Not bad) and $2600/year for the two cars. INSANE! I have gooten quotes from three more carriers and the next highest quot was $1300. This is very unfortunate because their service is quite good.
Sad to say I thought I had the best insurance for a long time been with them going on 5+ years no accidents no tickets do not understand why they went up on my insurance policy like $100I also added the gap insurance to my account bad mistake now I feel like I’m stuck with them because no other company offers it ...I have now gotten a cheaper rate from infinity $150 cheaper same thing that they’re offering me except the gap insurance I called my lienholder and they’re able to add it on my accountif you guys do not fix this problem I will be switching over..Then they asked me to take self defense driving classes and they will lower my rate other companies Are not even asking us to do this..I have referred several friends and family members to you guys but I would be letting them know to switch over as well ...Instead of rewarding your loyal customers and going down on the rates each year you’re going up on my rate for no reason ..
Weve had our Home, Auto, & Windstorm Policies with them for over 6 years now, and we have been super happy with them. They are great about their claims, and theyve always returned our calls. Weve had absolutely no problems with them. When rates went up we were able to call in and work with a representative to help us lower it wherever we could, and theyve always been able to work with us. I love also that we only pay for 10 months and we receive a sizable dividend check every year during renewal. When we deduct our dividend check against our monthly insurance cost we are still saving a lot more money with Amica than any other insurance company has been able to do for us. Overall I wouldnt go anywhere else, and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for an insurance company.
I have been an Amica customer for around 6 years. They have always been helpful. Unlike every other company when you call you can talk to a live person and not get passed around. We have had 1 auto claim with them and it was the easiest process. Called and they handled everything. They are always Johnny on the spot. I recommend them every chance I get. Plus, they give you a nice dividend check at the end of the year. Professional, responsive and you dont have to fight them on claims. They are one of the few that just pay!
I am basing my review and experience with Amica, not as a policy holder, but as a contractor. I have done hundreds of roofing & construction repairs from insurance claims and Amica is hands down THE BEST insurance company to work with from a contractors side. No matter if I have met with the field adjuster from the beginning of the project to inspect the damages or if the scope of work/estimate has already been written, 9 out of 10 times, the estimate covers all the work that needs to be done and rarely needs a supplement. If a supplement is ever needed, it is usually handled swiftly and efficiently. I have worked with all of the big name insurance companies and many of the smaller and Amica, in my experience has covered their insured and policy holders the best. Many of the big names youll see prime time commercials for, practice bad faith and are a contractors nightmare to work with to restore a homeowners damaged property to new b/c they would rather run another commercial than pay a proper claim. Every commercial seen is another claim denied. Amica has always practiced good faith and is the #1 good faith insurance company in multiple polls and by contractors across the country. If you ever have to file a claim with Amica due to an accident, storm, or other loss peril, Amica would be the company I would want to work with and I could tell you to trust that your loss will be covered with the proper method of repair to restore to new. From my experience, as a contractor...if you want great coverage for when you actually do have to file a claim, go with Amica!!!
I have used Amica to insure 3 homes and 3 cars over 12 years and have had excellent service from them. Their business model is different in that I dont have an agent but every person I have ever interacted with has been helpful and they take great notes so that when I call again the next person is up to speed on my needs or questions. For bigger issues, like insuring a new home, I do work with just one person if I prefer (Rosa Jones is great). I had minor wind and rain damage from Hurricane Harvey (separate from flood damage) and Amica was very helpful and generous with their coverage and made the process easy. I dont have the same positive remarks about my flood insurance company.
Shopping for insurance, but these reviews dont look good at all. But then bankrate.com and others sites rate them highly so am confused. Anyone has a good experience that is not a robot/paid promoter?
Ive had Amica literally since 2001, prior to that Ive used Allstate, State Farm, Nationwide, and MetLife. Amica has been nothing but super outstanding. I have an umbrella policy, home, camper and auto. Whenever Ive had to deal with anything theyve been right there 👍. Never any hassles, or headaches. Customer service is phenomenal.Ive watched my neighbors struggle with their insurance companies just to get a claim done. I know they raised their rates after Harvey as a number of agencies have. However the peace of mind that Amica offers is priceless to me. Sure, I can shop around for a cheaper rate but theres not one insurance company thats going to meet the super stellar rock star red carpet insurance that Amica offers. I highly recommend them for life insurance as well. Amica is outstanding!
Same story here... I was with Amica for YEARS, had auto insurance, was very pleased, but something happened along the way. I added home owners insurance, the following year their home owners insurance rate literally doubled and the auto insurance premium went soaring. I had no notification whatsoever that the rate would double. Not happy. I was a loyal customer for years and found it to be one sided very quickly.
Was with amica for 5 years said I had till Thursday to check rates they didn’t say 12:01 am policy was canceled.Wanted 1200 to rewrite and rate went up 200 a monthNow that my coverage was lapses first time in 20 years all policy’s want huge down payment. This will go to the insurance commission.I will take this as far as I can.Customer service is gone in 2020
Only had them for 2 years. After the first home owner renewal my rate increased by $500/year. Ok. The next year the renewal came in at an additional $505/year. $1,005 increase (over 50% increase) in 2 years with no claims for my little house. No thank you! Oh and the dividend they talk about getting back at the end of the year, yeah my last one was $78. Nice gesture after increasing my rate over $1k. The 2 stars were for the car insurance. It was decent.
Have been with Amica for 15 years. Every year, my homeowner ins premium has been steady increasing, except for one year. Never filed a single claim, this year my rate jumped 27% and 70% since 2013. No doubt, Harvey had something to do with the increase, but at 27%? Thats insane! What Amica does not realize is that once a consumer cancelled the homeowner, its likely that the auto policy will be cancelled as well. As for me, I cancelled my homeowner and got a very favorable rate. I save almost $2,500 - hard earned dollars. My auto policy will not be renewed with Amica when the term is over.People, make a couple phone calls and compare then let your $ do the talking.
If I could give less than one star I would. I had been with Amica for over 6 years until they decided to stop making auto policies from 1 year to every 6 months. Ince they did that its like they doubled my rate!. I called and they said because of increase in claims with flooding. I ok sure they suggested I take a defensive driving course to lower my price. I did and then once again my rate went up . I called question the reason and asked if there where any other discounts I could benefit from and I was give complete attitude from rep!. I am extremely disappointed with Amic! They use to be the best but now it seems like they dont care about their cust5and customer great is not even there anymore.
Amica has been the best insurance company to deal with. They are less expensive on all my policies and extremely easy to work with. You owe it to yourself to get a comparable quote. I switched my home, jewelry rider, auto and personal liability umbrella from State Farm after almost 30 years and never looked back.
If I could give a negative 5 star rating. I would. Its really sad that I did 6 years of business with them and I knew I was paying too much but my loyalty got in the way. The way they treat someone who makes their checks, meaning policy holders is truly sad. I wouldnt recommend this company to my worst enemy. Run, Amica employees and company have absolutely have NO MORALS, INTEGRITY and forgot they need customers to stay in business.
I have had Amica for 2 years now and they are great! I had 1 auto claim and it was handled great. We also had our house flood due to a bad washing machine. I called Amica and they had someone out there that night to start clean up. They had the adjuster out there on a holiday and I had my first check in just a little over a week. They have been great during the entire process and I will never leave them.
When Farmers went up on me 9 yrs ago to where I couldnt afford insurance, Amica was there to catch my fall and what a soft landing. Never been more satisfied ! Their Customer Service is superb and frankly the reps are very friendly. When my policy go up for economic reasons its not by much and it goes down just as much as up. I am very happy with my Insurance company. One of the best !!!
ABSOLUTELY AWFUL!!!! I was with Allstate for 38 years and went to Amica to save some money. Not only have Amicas prices gone through the roof their customer service is terrible! They deserve less than one star on their ratings.
If customer service, prices and services are important to you, don’t use this company.... period!!!I have been with Amica for 10 years. Their customer service was great and prices were reasonable.I have noticed over the years, the decline in their customer service and their prices are outrageous. My homeowners insurance increases every year and this year it increased by 200.00. I have a small 3-2-2. I had issues with my roof following Hurricane Harvey and their adjuster said the damage was maintence.... 👀. He could see my garage roof from the ground and didn’t bother to look into the attic (don’t use their referrals). Most importantly, roadside assistance is HORRIFIC. They contract with Timecorp Roadside Service. I have used the service twice and waited over 3.5 hours both times.
It has now been 6 days since my wife called and spoke to an agent about her auto insurance premium doubling, and someone in the local office was supposed to call her back to explain the rate hike...still waiting. It has now been 16 days since I personally left a message for a call back, and have yet to receive that call.Aside from TERRIBLE customer service, and inexplicable rate hikes (our home insurance went up 35% despite no claims) to this day we still receive paper copies of EVERYTHING with our paperless setting turned on. This may seem small to some, but it just further demonstrates their ineptitude. We are in the process of switching to another insurance carrier, and are receiving THE EXACT SAME COVERAGES in every realm but saving just over $1,000...let that sink in.Goodbye Amica!!!
I was about to call Amica back for auto and homeowners insurance Quotes but after reading the horrible reviews.... I think Ill Pass! I gave 3 stars only because ive never done business with them personally and Im going off the reviews.
Increased my homeowner insurance 100 % over 3 years despite no claims filed. Should not be allowed to insure in TexasStay away from this company- a rip-off bait and switch outfit
Ive had Amica since 2012, Customer service is wonderful.
I have been with Amica for nearly four decades. Forty years of a wonderful association. This doesnt mean I am always delighted by their decision. The rate hikes are an issue now that I am retired. And one time they refused a roof replacement, and instead paid for patching the messed up portion. Sadly we couldnt find matching roofing material so it looks retarded. The reason they gave was perplexing. They said. Its the back of the house so it is not visible from the road. However the way our subdivision is, the back of our house is very much visible from the road, the road that passed behind our house. Still I stayed with them. There have been other bumps in the road. But I am 67 years old and not about to change. Perhaps they are counting on that. When you get old(er) you become suspicious of corporations and sales man.Bottom line, I love Amica -- even though with the passage of time they (Amica) has lost the personal touch. But that is all companies. Amica still has the best customer service.
Great customer service! I appreciate Brandon very much for reaching out to me, with my concerns! I am staying with Amica, and I couldn’t be more pleased!
Ive had Amica Homeowners Insurance since 2011. They used to be a good company. Their premiums were higher but I used to feel it was justified because their claims department and customer service was the best in the insurance industry.My. How times change.I called today to tell Amica that Im discontinuing my longstanding homeowners policy with them.Their customer service representative Maria, was rude when I asked her to explain the 30% increase in my premiums over two years with no claims and a good credit rating that has not changed. So I asked to speak to her boss, named Jennifer. Not much difference. Laissez Faire attitude, not good numbers, not exact numbers, and the call disconnected. No call back from Jennifer The Amica Representative to quote my vehicle discount means no more Amica homeowners insurance for me, because Amica is NOT THE COMPANY IT USED TO BE.
I originally contacted this company to inquire about renters insurance and spoke with Sarita Hines. Initially everything was very good and she was very nice. We continued to speak back and forth to one another and I decided to sign up for services with them for an apartment I was moving into. Fast Forward 3 weeks I was scheduled to move into an apartment complex but things with the apartments did not go as planned. I called Sarita Hines and spoke with her and let her know that I would not be moving into those apartments and NOT to start the policy and that I would let her know when to start it once I found somewhere else to live. SHE AGREED, and I advised her that I would call her back with new information. Fast Forward 30 more days my bank account was drafted a payment from this company which caused some problems with my account. I called the same day I discovered the draft and spoke with a rep in regards to this issue to have them credit back the draft and the fee it caused me. Well I was then transferred to David Deems who I went back and forth with for about 2 weeks trying to get this rectified. I sent the information requested and was told that they would not refund me. I then was transferred to Brian Wojtowitcz who is supposed to be higher in the company. He also requested information to be sent to him which I sent twice and he is still asking for me to send proof that the charged cleared my account. Well I dont know what more information they need from me other than my bank statement which was sent to them 3 times. They are giving me the run around and acting as if I am trying to get over on them and all I am trying to do is get bank what is owed to me. I have never been treated in such a manner from a company when THEY MADE THE MISTAKE. I would never do business with this company because when they mess up they dont like to admit their mistake and try and turn the whole thing around on you. Now almost 4 weeks later I am still fighting with them to give me what is owed to me. I wouldnt recommend my dog to this company.
Ive had this insurance for over 5 yrs. now and just recently my husband had a car accident and his vehicle only had liability coverage. Well after he made the report he asked the agent about our other policy and we come to find out it was also liability instead of full coverage. I am furious because I been driving a whole year paying for a full coverage but not included medical or physical damage!!! But then again they tell me is still a full coverage but for the vehicle. When I got coverage the agent never explained to me that it was only for the car and not the passengers. Im so furious because I trusted them with my family and I had never had this issue with no other insurance. This is new to me that they consider full coverage only for your vehicle and not the people. I thought that when I asked for a full coverage it meant full coverage but I was completely wrong. Please check your policies because I trusted them and this is what happened. Thankfully, we werent involved in any accident in our family vehicle and later come to find out only our vehicle is covered. This is the most ridiculous thing I ever heard. So disappointed in this insurance.
Been with amica for over 4 years they were a great company Ive always paid online manually with them I put all my Bills on auto pay and thought I put amica on there as well but I did not they havent recieved a payment from me for 2 months straight and instead of calling me leaving a message they sent me a letter I just got back from out of town checked my mail and been notified my policy had been canceled I wanted to pay them what I owe and they said they can no longer do business with me, tried to do a new policy but was denied because of a claim in which I hit my neighbors truck on the driveway which they paid out 1400 bucks only I am aware this is all my fault and Im upset that I was denied to get another policy because of 2 claims which 1 was my fault and the other was not and now its damn near impossible to find a company that will even do business with me or that Im going to have to pay 700 minimum for full coverage and here I was only paying 178 I just wish they could have done more for me I know it was my mistake but I feel when stuff like this happens they should give us a call
Very difficult to deal with. Promise to follow-up and never respond after repeated attempts. Ive spoken to numerous representatives around the country and the same result.
This is not even my insurance company. My car got hit while parked & after getting several appraisals, i was later told that i’d be going through their insurance (amica) for repairs . An appraiser came & gave me a delayed appraisal of 1/2 of what an average appraisal is for the damage. I cannot even begin repairs from my lowest appraisal with this rate. Customer service was friendly, but the state of my car will not be able to be fixed at this rate.
Every since they started advertising, and expanded they began to care less. If you really care about your prized possesions DONT do business with them. If you have home insurance just an FYI if your personal property within your home was damaged due to wind driven rain entering your home they WILL NOT replace a thing. UNLESS YOU HAVE A HOLE IN YOUR ROOF. So you got it right all of us Hurricane Harvey people got personal property got DENIED. It took almost a month for an estimate from an adjuster to come back. The customer service used to be so kind. They are horrible now all they way down to the managers. Very sarcastic individuals, rude I think they must have gone out an rounded up all of Walmart workers to work there
Absolutely terrible people on the phone for a quote!!! Extremely rude!!! For a simple quote!
My name is Janie I had a very bad experience with Jahkel M Butler that got my claim. From the start he did not return any of my phone calls did not kept me inform about my rental car I had to call the rental place to see if he extended my rental which he didnt so I had to call him to do it and never got a hold of him so another person help which one time was Candy, Mickey and a few other if wasnt for them I wouldnt got anything done cause Jahkel never did anything. Didnt let me know about my car what was going with it dont know how he still working there he gives Amica bad name. I WILL let everyone know that your company is bad when you get hit by one of yourr client if you do good luck.
I will recommend this insurance because is truly, no to expensive and they speak different language
Very good customer serviceGood online presence.Good website and ability to upload and download documents.
Quote is 150% higher than Geico. No thanks. more than half my car payment for insurance and Im 40/m and a good driver....hahaha not a chance
As a long time Amica customer, after I was hit from behind by an uninsured motorist I originally had issues with my assigned Amica rep; however, the new rep I received is very informative and patient, and has helped me immensely throughout the process.
Have been trying to get an answer since Sept about any possible coverage for electrical short on my fridge. Adjuster that came out said we may get somwthimg and I have been calling, leaving messages, and emailing for literally a month and have gotten constant voicemails or promises that a supervisor will contact me back. And still paying insurance monthly. Worst customer service ever.
It has been more than 5 years with Amica.Very pleasant to have Amica as my insurance company.
We have had Amica since 1974 for home and auto. Received a call from them that upset me and then a very rude follow up letter.
When I was young, my parents were insured by AMICA and they remained AICA customers until they passed away. I was added to their auto policy when I reached driving age of 16 in 197. When I went on my own, I chose AMICA for my auto insurance. Homeowneres insurance was added when my wife and I purchased our home in the early 80s. Coincidentally, my wifes parents and her brothers family were also insured by AMICA.My brothers family and my sisters family are insured by AMICA.Today, I have homeowners coverage, 4 cars fully covered, and my wife has a life insurance policy through AMICA.At age 60, I have been approached by all of the big insurance companies to switch to their coverage, that they would save me money, etc. AMICA has been wondervul to me over the last 47 years and I would never consider switching to anyone else.Rapid response, great communication and follow up are the main factors I will be with AMICA for the long run.Thank you AMICA!
Customer service has fallen to an all time low. Have been with them for 20 years. Now I can never get customer service and it takes days to here back. I guess they are getting to big. Time to go shopping.
What a joke on auto insurance wanted to charge me 6 time what I am paying now
Horrible customer service and wanted to charge us $9500 for auto insurance. FU!
Horrible. Tried to get a quote for my boss...and they refused to discuss anything with me without his prior approval. ITS A QUOTE.!!!!
I WOULD LIKE TO GO IN PERSON, TO COMPARE AND DISCUSS, ABOUT THE AUTO / HOME INSURANCE. RIGHT NOW, I HAVE NATIONWIDE AUTO INSURANCE, FOR ALMOST TEN YEARS. MY WIFE AND MYSELF, WE BOTH RETIRED, 65 YEARS OLD. WE ARE PAYING, $ 250 PER MO., FOR SIX MONTHS RENEWAL POLICY. ITS JUST US, WERE ONLY INCLUDE TWO AUTOS W/O HOME COVERAGE. SO, I AM DISAPPOINTED HAVING TO PAY TOO MUCH, THIS WHY I WANT TO TALK IN PERSON, HOPING YOULL CAN HELP US. I HAVE TWO ADULT DAUGHTERS, THEY ARE PAYING HALF. ANYWAY, MY RENEWAL COMES UP IN TWO MONTHS.
Very disappointed to get hit with a 20% homeowner insurance bill increase when my house was not damaged by the flooding
They give me a quote and when i accepted it, they said the underwriter will review it and they would contact me, guess what, they never did and when I tried, they did not return my calls.
They were excellent.
They never called back when you need to
This is the best insurance company in USA
They use to be the cheapest for home insurance in Houston but after the Hurricane they are one of the highest. Couple that with their terrible auto insurance and they just arent worth consideration anymore. Companies change and so must your choices in who to do business with.
I am Sunrise Slemyan Sharif initiated the President of theCabinet Arab ruler in this area and what it is very beautiful and very not Ran
