We had started calling around for quotes on tree removal, as we had 3 that were immediate threats to the house.Anthony was the first to respond back and was at the house pretty quickly to give us a quote.We wanted to use his services, but saw that there was some negative reviews left. We voiced our concerns to Anthony and he addressed them in a fair manner; we decided to hire him.This is a team with amazing communication, not only with each other, but with the client. They work together seamlessly to make sure there is no damage to standing structures, and will bring it to your attention if they feel there is a structure at risk.Anthony and his crew cut down 5 trees, all more than 100 ft tall, and they did it expeditiously, safely, and was more than I could have even asked. They piled all the wood together in groups, how we asked of them.I have seen other comments saying they didnt do clean up. They cleaned up what they needed to, but being we werent having the trees removed (for use as firewood), their intervention was minimal yet efficient.Anthony is very responsive to questions. We asked for a statement of work and he sent that the very evening we asked.I have no reservations about asking he and his crew back to remove the remaining trees when the time comes. I have already recommended him to others.

RUN!! I mean run as fast as you can! Stay away from Anthony Copeland and Copeland’s Tree Service out of Suffolk Va. Don’t be fooled by Anthony’s reasonable price. I promise you will pay more out of pocket in the end when someone else has to come and clean up his company’s mess. He will ask for money(cash) up front. Don’t pay him cash! He will take your money and tell you that he will return the next day to finish the job. HE WON’T! He does incomplete work and will not return to your home nor return your calls. If you decide to allow Anthony to cut your trees, do it at your own risk and be certain to get a contract. DON’T pay until the job is complete and I would advise you to pay with a check. Anthony and his crew did not complete the 2 tree removals or stump grinding. However, they manage to damaged my fence. They were extremely careless and messy. If I could give them a MINUS 5 stars, I WOULD!!!!! They don’t deserve 1 star! Please save yourself the headache and go with a reputable tree service. I assure you, Copeland’s Tree Service IS NOT REPUTABLE!! Google this company and read other reviews. Anthony has done this to other hard working people/families. This appears to be an ongoing pattern for Anthony and his Copeland’s Tree Service. No one deserves to be treated this way, especially not during a pandemic when every dollar counts.

I called Anthony and he showed at my rental within an hour. Gave me a good price compared to other businesses and the job right then and was done in about 2 hours included the clean up. He was very professional. He wrote me a quote and explained what he was going to do and he did it. He did not ask for money until the job was done. He FaceTimed with me to show that the job was complete and my tenant came out and said the same. He saved me money too by cutting up the big limbs for firewood and put out the rest on the curb for the city to pick up, which they do for free if you request the service. My neighbor saw how good of a job he did and hired him to trim his tree. I would highly recommend him and will hire him again if I need to.

I would like to echo what Theresa Lewis wrote...RUN!! And I too will warn you to run as fast as you can! Stay away from Anthony Copeland and Copeland’s Tree Service out of Suffolk VA!!! Unfortunately, I read the review on this business too late because they were referred and I assumed they would take care of us...WRONG! **Disclaimer** Actually, they did a pretty good job cutting my trees down but thats where the horrible business ethics started. First, they showed up almost 2-hrs late, then took another hour to get prepared. After completing half of the work, a truck with a Bobcat pulled up and Im thinking Excellent, theyll have the downed trees and debris removed in no time! I was sadly mistaking! Anthony said the dumpsite closed for the day and the crew would return on Monday to complete the clean-up, so the entire crew left and rode into the sunset! Even though the guys left a complete mess behind for us to clean up with 3-downed trees and debris, I figured he seemed trustworthy so what the heck Ill believe him - BUT NOPE, THEY NEVER RETURNED!!! After several days of excuses and after calling Anthony a few times, the Bobcat driver and Anthonys crew returned to complete the job. Im thinking, maybe Theresa Lewis was wrong about these guys...BUT NOPE, the Bobcat driver removed a small portion of debris and eventually got stuck in my yard due to the saturation from the rain earlier that week. Guess what? The entire crew packed up, promised to return when the ground dried out, and then rode off into the sunset, never to return!!! So we were left with a HUGE MESS, including 3-trees, branches everywhere, and stumps standing as tall as 3-feet...SMH! The moral of this story: DO YOUR RESEARCH even if a business is referred, DO NOT MAKE ANY PAYMENTS until the job is completed, and SHUT DOWN ALL criminal enterprises. ANTHONY COPELAND AND CREW WILL VIOLATE YOU, whether you are a senior citizen, military, or law enforcement and they should be hunted down and held accountable for their actions! These guys are UNETHICAL, HORRIBLE, AND DISGRACEFUL!!! Thankfully, I only paid a portion of what was owed but I ended up paying more in the long run for another company to complete Anthonys work and clean his mess!

I own a tree company that just had to clean up their mess after they took money up front for a job and left it a mess. Just like to say yall suck and cant even stage brush correctly. Scammers!
