We put our son in Sylvan because he was really struggling with his reading and writing due to his language impairment. It was the best decision we have ever made for him! We have definitely seen his progress. Not only that, the staff and teachers at Sylvan Learning of Suffolk and Harbour View are incredibly accommodating and have been the best to work with. I would highly recommend this Sylvan to anyone who is looking for help with their childs academic progress.

Sylvan Learning of Suffolk is amazing! My son was struggling with reading and writing skills and they were able to get him on track for 2nd grade within 4 months. We love that he is motivated to learn and more confident. The staff is amazing and keeps you up to date on your childs progress frequently. We highly recommend Sylvan Learning!

My daughter was struggling with Trigonometry and we reached out to Sylvan for some assistance. Tutoring was provided and was very helpful. Communication with the center was easily accessible through texting and the services were superb! The cost was affordable and my daughter finished the year making honor roll. My daughter is an Honor student and I placed her in Sylvan bc of the pandemic. I was afraid bc the public schools have fallen behind and I did not want her to start her 6th grade year struggling. We have been a part of the program for 3 months now and my daughter loves it. Her confidence has grown and her mind is like a little computer…lol. The program is also very affordable (I am on a single mom’s, middle class budget). This has been a great investment, we will continue to attend and I love Adrienne and her team, they are the best!

Our daughter began Sylvan with anxiety and lack of confidence in reading. She was well behind grade level and had freshly switched from private to public school amidst the COVID pandemic. In just 12 sessions, through 4 weeks, we’ve seen vast improvement! She is far most confident and her reading had greatly improved. We look forward to her ongoing improvement.

He always has a smile on his face when he finishing tutoring and I’ve seen such a huge confidence boost in his personal growth. I used this center many times when I believe my son is not on grade level and they get him there.As always, thank you all for your dedication to our children, especially during a time like this.

My son fell behind, due to covid 2020, Sylvan has helped him get back on track to where he needs to be. Love the atmosphere and the people are great!

Since my child has been at Sylvan her confidence and knowledge has greatly improved. The staff is friendly and they really truly work with the parents schedule and come up.with a plan that is good for the child.

My daughter is a sophomore and was having trouble in Algebra II. When my daughter started with her tutor, Ms. Aimee in October, her grade was a 61. Within a month her grade jumped to an 87! I can not say enough about Ms. Aimee. She connected with with my daughter and was able to help her feel confident about Algebra II. She was not as nervous taking tests anymore. And her grades reflected that. She finished the semester with a final grade of 89. I highly recommend Sylvan for older students too.

Sylvan has been an amazing asset in helping my kids stay on track with their education. They look forward to going and always have a positive experience everytime. We have used Sylvan off and on for the past 5 yrs to boost their skills as needed and keep them from struggling in school. I love that Sylvan is flexible and they work with our busy schedules. I would highly recommend both the Chesapeake and North Suffolk locations for tutoring.

Our daughter was having some reading difficulties and was facing retention. She spent a few months at Sylvan and was back on track for her next grade. Weve continued with Sylvan throughout the school year, which has been very helpful during struggles shes had in both Math and Reading. We are also excited to use them for SOL prep!I love the new location near Harbor View!

We have a 6 year old at Western Branch in first grade. When he started the year, he was way behind at reading and immediately placed on the list for risk of retention due to his reading level. We worked closely with his teachers and the school and also decided to enroll him in tutoring at Sylvan. We committed to an hour of tutoring, twice a week for three months. We just recently received his updated results for his reading test and he has progressed sooooo much. The teacher met with the principal and took him off the list for being retained. He was so far behind that it was so frustrating for him and me as a parent trying to work with him. With Sylvan, he got to work with teachers who are patient and understanding, and who know how to teach. He actually really likes to read now and is doing awesome. Thanks to the teachers who worked with him and helped us get the great results!

Love the personal touch they pour into each child. My Adam struggled so much with reading and just confidence to read and I have seen him turn the corner and he is excited to be bringing home better grades and feeling the progress himself plus it has helped us figure out how to better help him as parents. I woudl 100% recommend.

They were very helpful .. they said they would call I a few days give me time to process all the information.. well they called 2 to 3 times a day everyday .. until I was able to answer .. I found this discouraging an that they just wanted my money ..

My son is an 8th grader in algebra. Originally this past summer my thought was to try sylvan learning center to freshen up his math skills before the school year started. I got a little kick back from my son but talked him in to giving this a try just for the month of August. Well fast forward two weeks in to our sessions and he was thriving. His confidence in math was already showing and he wanted to continue into September. We are so glad we continued as he has not only benefited from the skills he has mastered but he has developed a bond and trusting relationship with his tutor! We are currently continuing his sessions even though he has an A in math because I feel you can never be too strong in math and when problems arise and he needs help at school I know where to turn. Great team of educators! They did wonders in just a few weeks for my daughter. Even helped with the ASVAB too. Well worth it!!
