I came down to Florida last month to visit my parents and my sister and her family. I had purchased a travel CPAP machine for this very purpose, and when I got down there, I realized I forgot to pack my N20 mask for use with the CPAP mini. I needed to get a mask, off insurance, and I was hoping I wouldnt have to pay an arm and a leg for it. I called around, and I was lucky enough to get through to Michael Gun Show Russo. He didnt have any new stock, but he had the mask frame, headgear, and cushion for the N20 from a display. Even though neither of the nasal cushions were my size (one was small, the other large, of course I wear a medium,) he let me have both cushions and the frame/headgear for $45, and he even spent the time to see which of the 2 cushions would be the best fit. In the office, it seemed that they would both work, but when I used it that night, the large turned out to be the better fit as the small was *too* small for my nose. The fact that he let me have both just in case, gave me a sweet deal, and took the time to make sure everything was kosher went a long way to ensuring that I would be set for CPAP for the rest of my stay, return if I ever need supplies when I am in the area again, and recommend Medical Equipment Specialists LLC to my family down there. Also, both he and Jenee The Brains of the Operation Pajak are very cool people, we had some great conversations and I felt valued as both a client and a person. You cant go wrong by being a customer of this outstanding medical supply business.

My CPAP machine gave out suddenly one night, which led me to find a local supplier. I found that most medical supply companies in the area DID NOT carry CPAP machines. I thought I was going to have to order one online, and spend more sleepless, restless nights until it arrived. That is, until I called Medical Equipment Specialists. I was relieved to hear that they had equipment in stock and with a quick email of my prescription, they began to program a new CPAP machine for me. I drove up to pick it up and was given very professional treatment. Mike attended to my needs, explained clearly and patiently all I needed to know about the new machine. He fitted me for a new mask and sent me on my way as a very happy customer. I would definitely recommend this local place as a go-to for medical supplies. Their customer service was outstanding and they were the only provided within 50 miles that carried the supplies I needed.

I would give Medical Equipment Specialists ZERO stars, if possible! Jeff repaired my husbands wheelchair (basically, his legs) with the flimsiest cable ties and charged $125! it broke 5 minutes later and when I called him, he did NOTHING! He took advantage of a handicapped man and a woman who did not know that cable ties are made to hold different weights. He knew that we were over 1,000 miles from home and could not leave hotel without wheelchair.

Mike Russo did a fantastic job helping out at a difficult time for my family and my physician assistant daughter who is working in New York City at NYP hospital. I am a physician from Canada. When Im home, I get good service, as a patient, from my C-PAP provider, probably because I send him a number of patients each year. However, the service I got from Jeff and Mike at Medical Equipment Specialists, here in Stuart, was absolutely outstanding. This was not because Im a doctor because they didnt know that. They explained in minute detail the functions of 3 different C-PAP machines and in the end I purchased a new machine for a great price. I cannot recommend them more highly.

After dealing with multiple companies the last 5 years with my aging parents, Jenee was amazing from my first frantic weekend call, to delivery and setup by John. They were efficient and compassionate. Jenee did all the foot work contacting the nursing home and insurance providers. She did everything so quickly and thoroughly. John set everything thing up with notes describing things and called me to provide all information. He was so sweet to my Dad who has dementia. I really can’t say enough positive comments after all I have dealt with in the past. I can only say this company stands above and beyond any others and am so grateful I stumbled across them on line. By far the worst medical supply company heartless people telling my mom after losing my dad 1 day after he passed that if she didnt find the missing pieces to his wheelchair she would be billed. Cold hearted people should not be dealing with the elderly. Not to mention the junky old used wheelchair they gave him to begin with.

So efficient, knowledgeable and helpful! After my mother had a stroke 18 months ago, they helped me with ordering equipment needed and delivered everything quickly to my parents home. Last week when I was visiting, I realized my mother needed a lift chair and called Medical Equipment Specialists again. Janee remembered me, looked up our file, quickly sent me all options and pricing, as well as links to check colors and told me which ones would be available for quick shipping. The next morning, she checked prices with me, arranged for quickest possible shipping ( no extra charge), and direct billed medicare for the portion that was allowed. The chair was delivered to my mother 48 hours after my first call, they removed the old chair, took all the packaging, etc. My parents did not have to do anything! Thank you Janee -you helped me take care of this issue in the 24 hours I was in Florida. It is so helpful to have a trusted and responsive supplier to help with managing my parents care especially because I do not live nearby. Will definitely call them with any further needs.

I do not really take time to give feedback but I realize after calling 5 different medical companies to purchase a hospital bed for my mom that I should share our positive experience. First of all, I spent 2 months trying to get a much needed hospital bed for my mom through Medicare and due to some medicare bid in our area, none of the companies would give her one because they said she wasnt sick enough. Finally, my sister and I began looking on the internet and calling places to buy her one. WOW you would think you were buying a new Car. This was the only company we called that had one in stock, delivered it the same day and gave us a good and fair price. My mother has become very picky in her elderly years and is not always easy to deal with but I have to say the young man that delivered her bed was very patient and good with addressing my moms questions. The lady over the phone was excellent in emailing me all the paperwork and following up with me to make sure my mom was happy with the bed and mattress. Thank you and I appreciate how quick you took care of everything.

Wonderful service! I am on Oxygen and wanted to buy a portable concentrator when I travel but wasnt sure which one to buy. I have issues with the bookkeeper here. I was given a wheelchair and told I would have to rent it for 6 months. I was charged for six months like I was told and then I was not charged as I expected for two months, then I was charged twice in one month. I called to speak to the bookkeeper who was exceptionally rude to me and told me I had to pay for twelve months instead of six and that they would continue to charge me, or I could give back the chair. I told her I had moved to California and I had received documentation from Medicare that they had already paid for the chair in full over $200. She informed me that I would still be charged each month. I told her I would cancel my card. The next day she charged me again for the entire balance that would be due for the entire year. I had an agreement to make payments for six months, she turned it into twelve and charged me in advance. I will never do business with this company again.

I cant thank your company enough for all of your help when my mother came home from the Rahab Center. My mom fell and broke her hip and spent several months in the hospital and rehab. I live out of state and I had no idea where to begin when it was time for my mom to come home. I spoke to one of your specialists and she was wonderful. She was patient and took all the burden from me in getting mom what she needed. It was nice to have someone work with my moms Doctor and insurance and I did not have to chase paper while taking care of my mother. Thank you so much for all of your help, Mom is doing great now!

Im glad to see from the other prior comments that I am not the only who would avoid doing business with this company in the future. But, let me tell you why: It was not my idea to use them in the first place, but was my mothers choice of desperation due to a misdiagnosis-of-illness factor. She believed at the time of purchase that she had back problems or some condition related to the neuromuscular system, but ending up having a major diagnosis of cancer resurfacing. She would end up in the emergency room exactly a day later, and died a week after this under sedation of the pain killing drugs along with the instability that the cancer had already caused.The bottom line is that the wheel chair was never used or sat in, or even stretched out except for demonstration by the delivery person. When I called to explain the situation a few days later (still under two weeks), they would not even consider taking the new and unused item back. Most telling and disturbingly, when I asked why, I was told that the reason was just policy. When I asked what was the best way to get any return profit off of this (given that it had cost $200.00, and I would be willing to take up to two-thirds to three-fourths of the return), the person was totally clueless, with some mere general suggestion to donate to someone who might need it - what anyone not in the profession could come up with.This lack of flexibility has no place in any business world today. I do realize that some goods like ammunition and presciption drugs have federal regulations that make refunding more difficult, but there was no reference to any greater factor that regulates sales other than a company policy. All businesses, and especially worthy ones have some exceptions, and especially when an item was never used at all. The fact that an item has no damage at all in this technological day can easily be proven or tested, and companies have to do this anyway with items like medical supplies like wheelchairs and walkers. It would be dangerous not to have a system for testing, and the wheel chair that I have sitting vacant right now is probably more stable than some that just came out of the factory.I have worked enough in retail over the years (over 25 years experience) to say that a business has to be built around the fact that items bought for one intention will at times not be used, especially if the intended user dies. In this case, a company that provides items for much of the older population (given that is when many mobility problems set in) is very likely to have some clientele that dies soon after having used the product very little or none at all, or even some that lives but needs another product. From this experience with this company, I hate to think how many unused wheelchairs may be sitting in someones home because of a death or how many people ripped off for $200.00 or any significant amount. I could understand a time limit for the returning items or a lesser among that I had to take back (one company I have worked for, for example, has a 15-day return policy on air mattresses for instance), but the business is so inflexible, that even such better remedies are not even a factor here.Also, in cases where companies are not able to be flexible, usually they are able to give some reference for getting the best value on a product. I know of one example from the sporting profession, but am hesitant to use it publicly, because it is tied to too much controversy with all that goes on in society today. But lets put it this way: my own friend, who is not in the medical profession, was better about giving a suggestion (a website in this case) for getting the value out of this wheelchair than anyone from this company.For anyone considering using this company for any of their products, please be cautious. I guess it is a flippant understatement to say that you need to make sure the person you buy the product for is not going to die anytime soon (how ridiculous is this?) or that this better the right product for the injury or disability or thats what is implied.
