Very nice venue, super friendly staff that was very hard-working. We attended an outdoor wedding here and were pleased with everything.
Lovely facility. The wedding was rustic with a great atmosphere! Probably should be used for groups around 100 to be comfortable. Didnt realize that it was part of a whole recreational complex. Very nicely done.
As soon as my now husband and I toured HGB during our wedding venue search, we knew we found the place that we wanted hosting our big day. The grounds are beautiful - we loved the history behind it all and how well maintained it was. The Barn itself is absolutely stunning, we loved the decor that is left up permanently and loved that it meant our decor and details could be kept simple. The staff is a BLESSING - especially Vicki, on the days leading up to our COVID-postponed wedding she was responsive and made sure to go above and beyond to make sure the day was perfect. Her dedication did not stop there - she came to the venue early on Sunday morning to weed-whack since the Streamwood Park District did not (and the weeds in the sidewalks werent the greatest), left to supply us more orange juice after our bridal party wiped out their supply, and even had her husband bring THEIR bag set from home after not being able to locate the set that the barn supplies. We were OVERWHELMED by the support, assistance, and genuine care that we felt by everyone, especially Vicki in those last few days/hours.We would recommend Hoosier Grove Barn to anyone looking for a rustic/barn-themed venue to host any event. We promise, you will not be disappointed!
ZERO STARS!! TERRIBLE!!! I attended a wedding on June 5th that was ruined by the management. The wedding started off beautifully and everyone was having a great time. Towards the end of the wedding, the management/staff/bartenders decided to close the open bar and hour early even though it had already been paid for! The excuse was ridiculous, saying that ‘too many people were drinking alcohol’, even though everyone was completely fine and civil. Nothing was getting out of hand, yet the bartender felt entitled to shut the bar down and call the police once the groom spoke up about it! The wedding ended up being shut down an hour early, and the bartender didn’t even have the decency to apologize or look at us in the eyes. So rude. So disrespectful. They not only ruined their wedding, but also cost the couple thousands of dollars AND REFUSED TO REFUND THEM!!!!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY ON THIS PLACE!!
I went to a wedding at this Barn on June 2021. Everything was going well until one of the staff members decided to CALL THE POLICE for no reason at all. Matter of fact, what happened before was that one of the bartenders decided to stop giving drinks to the guests - in her own mind everyone was having more fun that what is appropriate - and this annoyed the groom a lot, which lead to him picking up the drinks himself.Apparently, this is a very peaceful area, because the police stayed there for one hour until the owner of the place allowed them to enter and finish the party. I recommend that if you are planning a wedding, buy the drinks yourself, don’t go for the “open bar for a limited time” option, since bartenders with big egos can just stop serving you if they want to. There wasn’t anyone drunk enough the lead to this.
Went to a wedding here about a week ago. Started off great but then when the bar opened, the staff immediately just didn’t care. The lady who operated the bar told guests that she will be monitoring everyone’s drinks.. who says that at a wedding!!? Especially one that’s already paid!? Then the lady would disappear from the bar, letting guests sit their and wait for drinks. At the end of the night they closed the bar down an hour before the actual wedding was over which was mind blowing. If this was my wedding. Id want my money back instantly!!! I’ve already warned multiple people who thought about having there wedding there. It’s a scam if you ask me.
The venue is fine for a wedding with up to 80 people. The service was below par as the waiters were always in a hurry to clear the table. The bar was the worst! The bar keeper closed the open bar several times claiming the guests were drinking too much. Imagine that at a wedding party. Guests were having a good time despite the bar staff. People were not drunk or at all aggressive, just celebrating our friends wedding. In the end someone called the police one hour before the party was supposed to end. I would not recommend this venue to any of my friends.
If you want to have a great party, this is not the right place. The bartender were very rude. Wedding ended up shutting down earlier and bar also got shut down. They want to control everthing you do, how you do and when you do. I would not recommend this venue to any of my friends. Never going back!
The Hoosier Grove Barn staff made our wedding a stress free day! We met a few times prior to the big day to build a time line, and then our amazing coordinators Mallory and Vicki were there the day of to ensure everything went smoothly. This is the perfect venue for having your entire wedding at one location. We had the ceremony in the garden, cocktails outside in the courtyard, and the reception in the barn. The barn (and entire campus) is BEAUTIFUL so we hardly needed to buy additional decorations - we just bought enough to add a personal touch.THANK YOU Hoosier Grove Barn and staff for helping to make our wedding an amazing day!!
The staff does not know how to handle a wedding. Extremely long lines to get drinks, even though the groom paid extra for 2 servers. Seemed that they did not want to serve, probably to make more money, since the drinks were paid beforehand. Unfortunately a night that should be full of happiness ended up in tears and discussions because of the poor service from the venue team. Shame.
Beautiful place to have small wedding. Food was amazing from Daves Specialty Foods .
The park itself is kept in decent condition. Its very open and there is a lot to do as there is a soccer field and a baseball field. I recommend.
0 stars. Terrible experience. Attended Yuri & Jackie’s wedding 3 weeks ago and everything was great until the “open bar” opened. Besides the fact there was only 1 bartender trying to serve over 100 people (huge line), they stopped serving drinks 2 hours earlier as they ran out of liquors. Terrible planning which ended up ruining their wedding 😞. When we complained about the service, the venue called the police and sent everybody home 😓. The bride left the venue crying and all guests were forced out of the venue.
We performed a wedding on October 13th 2019 as Dj service! The barn is perfect for a beautiful outdoor ceremony and inside reception. They have firepits in the fall to.keep the guest warm! They are very welcoming to all the guest and vendors! I was very impressed with Vicky and Donna on how they were flexible with helping out to make the wedding a success! Thank you all for what you do!Rick MangramSpecial Occasion Events INC
Wedding ended terribly, bar ruined the night by shutting down the open bar that was extremely expensive to pay for, then unnecessarily called police in an environment that was completely controlled and safe. Don’t go to this venue if you can’t have fun during the night. Ends up in tears, never ever going back.
Did a shoot here recently. Such a great, caring, knowledgeable staff. Absolutely loved working with them. The barn is kept in great condition, it was the perfect environment for our shoot.
I chose this place as my wedding venue. Unprofessional staff, they did not communicate to me and my wife to address most of the issues during the party which caused a lot of stress.5 hours of full bar service is a joke, around 9 oclock most of the bridal party and friends were complaining about the bar service pouring poor drinks and shots (which i paid an extra bartender and shes was not event there all the time, by the way shes a MANAGER at the venue, not Bartender, who knows if she has a Bartender Lincense). If you are planning to have a great party, this is not the place. Vicky (WEDDING COODINATOR) and Mallory (MANAGER at the venue) were responsible for all this inconvenience we had, bar closing down, party shut down and even streamwood police officer showing up at the wedding. I would not recommend. Make sure you dont pay GRATUITY right away, i really wished hold on to that untill the wedding day. I would have saved around over 1,3K and walked out somewhat satisfied because paying over 10K for this, find somewhere else and you will be happier. None of my guest ever seen anything like what they pulled on us in another wedding parties that they went to.
I went there for my best friends wedding and they had issues since start. They served dessert as appetizers, did not served all the food since it was a buffet.Drinks were awlful and bartenders were very rude, drinks were being very poorly served, you could feel and sense that bartenders did not want to be there.I felt sorry for my friends, they had planned all this event for us and family and then this. Pary ended up shutting down way earlier, bar also got shut down because my friend complained a lot about the way they were doing their service. If you want to have a great party with you and your friends & family, this is not the right place. They want to control everthing you do, how you do and when you do. Theres no weding coordinator, only a manager that pretends to do so and say I have been doing wedding for .....so many years and bla bla bla
Hoosier Grove is a great place for an event. Had my wedding here a couple weeks ago and couldn’t be happier with the experience. Mallory made sure everything was taken care of and she made our day easy and stress free. Highly recommend Hoosier grove for your next event!
If you’re looking for a venue that’s romantic and unique this is the place. From every little detail inside the venue, and all of the incredible staff, my day could’ve have gone any better. Mallory and Vicki were beyond helpful and communicative throughout the whole process and made sure to surpass my expectations. You’re free to use your own vendors and truly have the wedding YOU dream of. Highly recommend to anyone looking to set the date with Hoosier!
Nice and well laid out. Lots is fun options, or just a nice place to walk.
My husband and I had our wedding there on 6.15.19 and it was EVERYTHING we dreamed of and more the entire staff is beyond amazing and very responsive to any questions or concerns you have right away. Our guests had a blast. The barn is breath taking and the bridal room is perfect. The whole process of having our wedding here was made so easy by Mallory, she kept us up date with information or changes and she kept in contact with all our outside vendors to make sure that everything went as planned the day of the wedding. If I could give the venue 20 stars I absolutely would! Thank you for giving us the wedding of our dreams and for making the process so easy and so stress free.
Place was beautiful
Our wedding at Hoosier Grove Barn surpassed our expectations. The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. Even though the weather wasn’t what we would have wanted, (59 degrees and rainy on a late June day) they were ready to move us promptly when it started to drizzle. Their flexibility took all of the pressure off of my husband and I. The atmosphere of the barn was cozy and intimate for our smaller, 90 person wedding. The premium bar was also a major perk! Our guests had a blast, stating it was definitely one of the best weddings they have ever been to. Thank you, Mallory and Lesly for everything!
The Hooiser Grove Barn team are one of the best! As a wedding planner, I get work with so many different venues and venue coordinators and the team here are extremely talented. It was such a pleasure working with everyone there.
I had my wedding here this past October and my overall experience was amazing! The staff is great and very accommodating! Having my wedding on a Friday I was also able to set everything up the day before without any issues! The staff made sure the process was as painless and stress free as possible! Beautiful venue, great affordability, I would definitely recommend them to anyone!
We had our wedding at the Hoosier Grove Barn. It is such a beautiful place. We received so many compliments from our guest about what a nice venue it was, some even said they would host an event there. The open bar package they had was amazing, the selection of alcohol was great especially for the price. All the guest we’re impressed. Everyone who works there is extremely helpful and help you plan a timeline. They give you a lot of good recommendations on vendors in the area. They helped us create a prefect wedding.
Let me start out by saying that this venue is one of the most beautiful places to have a wedding. The staff are constantly taking ideas from prior weddings and upgrading the already beautiful setting they have made. When we first decided to have our wedding here the old barn wood, high ceilings, wonderfully kept grounds and amazing bargain were what drew us in. When we first visited, the staff was super friendly and easy to get along with. They answered all of our questions and made it very easy to make our decision. What we liked most about Hoosier Grove Barn was just how much they include with the rental package. They give you chairs, tables, linens, 5 hours of open bar, AV equipment, a wedding planner, and much much much more. There are a few add-ons that we didn’t use, but the expense they charged for them was very well explained and makes sense instead of these ridiculous prices you get from other venues. The place is small but for our just over 100 guest count, it was absolutely perfect size. The climate controlled venue makes this barn far superior to other barn style venues considering the ungodly weather we deal with in this area at times. In all, our first impressions of the place made me choose Hoosier Grove Barn. The staff and ease of planning, made me not regret it one bit! Now, due to the popularity of Barn weddings these days, they are booked out well in advance, so get planning and get planning early if you want to book here. That being said, they were so flexible and easy going and did everything they could think of to get us the date we wanted. This place is owned by the park district and will sometimes host community events as well as weddings. So getting a date you want requires a decent amount of advanced notice. We got our date 14 months in advance and it was the earliest available Saturday!Once our date was established the wedding planner, Mallory (who is now running the show I believe) was super helpful. She sent us a questionnaire that really made us think about everything and make a plan for the big day. She was also very helpful when filling out the questionnaire as well. We used her input and made some of our own changes and really made it special without getting too complicated. Like I said, we booked well in advance so we had a lot of time to fill it out, but I honestly think that this single service right here is what makes this place so special. Everyone there is truly a master of the wedding craft and knows exactly how to make the day special without burdening us with an overwhelming amount of planning.Closer to the date, our wedding got handed off to Vicki and Colleen who took it and ran with it beautifully and seamlessly. They truly did an excellent job picking up where Mallory left off and came with their own sets of insight and wisdom. We were able to easily finish getting the final touches down and it felt amazing. Now, you can sit there and rack your brain about “what did we forget?” “I feel like there should be more.” But trust me, they have thought of everything. Even the smallest of details they will fill it in when the time comes to make everything work. The day of our wedding, everyone was there to help set up. The staff showed up on time for us to set up all the decorations, and helped us with any last minute changes as well. During the ceremony and reception, we had a fantastic time. The floor changes were seamless, the staff worked diligently behind the scenes and we didn’t even realize just how much was going on because they just knew what to do.All in all, this is definitely a great place to say “I do”. the unbelievable grounds and scenery, the beautiful barn and facilities, and the fantastic staff all come together in the best way possible. Thank you again, everyone who made our day so special. It was worth every minute and penny!
My daughter had her wedding and reception here. Its a great venue for weddings under 100 people. The wedding was outside in front of the school, which is an awesome, cozy setting if they weather cooperates. The reception was in the barn, which you can decorate any way you want. We had outside catering, a DJ, two bar servers, etc. It was great. The staff is awesome as well. Two huge thumbs up!
Hoosier Grove Barn was an amazing venue! They were very flexible with changes and helped every step of the way for planning. The guests loved the beautiful barn and outside grounds. We had the ceremony on the school house steps and it was a perfect setting. The bartenders and on-site staff were super friendly and helpful and made the night run smoothly. I cannot say enough good things about this place! :)
Had my wedding here in May of this year. I received many compliments from guests. The staff here is very helpful and will work hard for any event you are planning.
HGB did an amazing job with my daughters wedding this past Sunday. The option of the garden ceremony was breathe taking for our beautiful bride. The entire staff was hands on and attentive to our requests. Kudos to Leslie, Elisa, Charlie, Donna, Rosa and Michael. Our bartenders took care of our guests and highly recommend hiring them for your event. Thank you. Samantha, Mallory and Collin.. cheers to a job well done.
Got married here. It was a dream - the staff worked diligently to ensure that our day was everything weve ever wanted. Couldnt recommend the folks at Hoosier Grove more highly.
Beautiful Venue! We had my daughters sweet 16 here and we had such a great experience. The staff was amazing!
Got married here - the staff is absolutely world-class and we could not recommend them more highly.
Our wedding was this past weekend on August 18th. Mallory and Leslie where wonderful to work with! They made sure it was exactly how we envisioned our wedding day. Vicki was great to work with as well. Made sure the day was running on schedule.
Wedding here, staff did a fantastic job top to bottom. Great venue, great attention to detail, very nicely done.
Married here in 2016. The team was incredible, the space was perfect, and the guests enjoyed themselves! What more can you ask for?
Not a huge place that you need a hundred to too hundred to fill. Smaller and more homey.
I cant get over how perfect this place is for weddings. The staff are super friendly and helpful as well.
Nice place for partys they could of seved the food at the tables instead of having it like a soup line.
Small place not big enough, space for 50 people or less plus only accepts cash for drinks no debit/credit card accepted
Beautiful place for a small venue, however the AC did not work for an event i attended. It was awful everyone was sweating and complaining.
Amazing venue. The staff are very straightforward and so is the pricing levels
Had a good time at the carnival food was ridiculously overpriced $6 for a lemonade! it was almost filled to the top with ice too
Worst services
