Top customer service from GM Rich Massella. He took care of an accounting issue that was not in my favor. He wiped it away hassle-free and very quickly....also confirmed it with an email to me. Genuinely appreciated him taking care of the customer. Id recommend this location and staff.
I love the classes at this gym and its quite clean. Ive become increasingly disappointed in their lack of oversight to make sure that classes are not over capacity during the COVID pandemic. Ive complained at the front desk to no avail. So much for feeling safe going to the gym.
Edge Stratford is wonderful. They have all the best equipment. I love their cinema, its a great way to get a workout and a movie. Challenge yourself with a fitness class, get a free guess pass online. Tellem I sent you.
Clean, sanitary with large open areas to work out. Staff very accommodating and open for questions. Plenty of equipment, never a wait!
Great local gym, clean, and is overall a nice facility. My only note is that the music is super repetitive and I wish they would change up the music genres more. Also shoutout to Ben, hes the best trainer there.
Place is kept clean. The only reason why I gave it 4 stars is because the treadmills in the womens room need to be changed. Way too noisy.
Ive been trying to unroll myself for 2 LONG MONTHS when my last time going over there was 2 YEARS AGO!I completely forgot so I went to cancel my contract they made me send an email and wait 3 to 5 days (in that time the next month was charged) then nothing happened they never answered, THEN I had to called them and when a lady finally told me that Im all done BOOM!! Next month Im being charging again .WORSE SERVICE I DONT REALLY KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO!!!Ive been reading all the review thru here and honestly Im considering ask for a refund or something how is that even possible???I dont want to cancel my credit card just because of this really WORSE service ever!
They are definitely not enforcing Covid-19 protocol. People are working out with their mask pulled down completely or not covering their nose. Most of those people dont even respect social distancing. I have pictures to prove it but to avoid any issues with privacy I wont be posting.
It is a very welcoming facility and the atmosphere is great for ease of movement and flexibility. The people who workout here are also kind and helpful from my experience.
Rikita, and the general manager were very professional and provided excellent customer service when I had some work circumstances that required me to move. The same experience was not had with ABC Financial which is the parent company who operates The Edge.
Great place not that crowded most machines work as they should
Not bad I go at 8pm and there are always people there...I did not get a tore of the gym they just took my money for a member ship and sent me on my way ...I found out later that my member ship did not include the womens gym ...But so far the staff is nice and I see a lot of p throw those wet wipes around and I dont see anyone cleaning it up so it looks like little tissues everywhere..but planet fitness is out of the way and I did not want to pay for LA Fitness
I find that this location compared to the other Edge fitnesses nearbye to get really packed, but the employees are really nice as well as the people who go to the gym. I’ve found myself having conversation with some gym members and ppl don’t get offended when you ask if they’re done with a machine and they ask you if you’re done before taking yours. Members wear their masks and seem to wipe the machines down which I like. A fun vibe. My favorite parts of this gym are the movie theater of course and the woman’s room where I can hide out and workout.
My favorite Gym around the Equipment is always well kept and clean. Entire facility always clean. Extensive weights machines and dumbells. A machine for everything as well. They also offer classes and a convenient Sauna ! Place is great
Great to be back. Day 1. Time lose the covid-30.
Good atmosphere. Professional staff
I had a fantastic experience with the Edge pre-Covid, but am disgusted with how little regard ABC financial and the Edge have for the physical and mental well-being of their customers. They are not allowing anyone to cancel their memberships unless they can prove with a doctors note they are disabled or are moving. If they werent going to let people out of their contracts as a result of a deadly pandemic, I would have at least expected them to freeze memberships for as long as the member needs to feel comfortable returning and at that point the remainder of the membership term would still apply. Considering there are plenty of ways they could accommodate customers unique situations, it is disappointing that they instead choose profits over compassion.Update- I am not sure what the several out-of-the-norm options are that the business is referring to in their reply. The only option they offered me was to extend the freeze just one more month, which considering the virus situation will be the same in one month as it is now (no widespread vaccine) doesnt really help.
Very nice gym
Facilities and classes are great, however dealing with their financial center (ABC Financial) is such a hassle and unpleasant experience. Extremely difficult to cancel your membership without paying extra fees. Even after reading through the entire contract and fighting with ABC financial for weeks, I couldnt cancel my already frozen membership without paying another months fees for using the gym (that I wasnt using, due to my frozen account and COVID-19). I will never get a membership here again simply because of ABC financial. Will go back to other gyms that cost way less and are more friendly to customers.
I really enjoy working out at the Stratford Edge. The staff is helpful and friendly. The members are welcoming and will compliment you when they see you hard at work. I tried going to other sites and you cant beat the Stratford Edge. They have the sauna, the classes and the ultimate best yoga instructor, Kimmarie:)
Good luck cancelling your membership during a life-threatening pandemic. They and abc financial have the absolute WORST customer service I have ever experienced. Their policies are only set to steal as much money as possible from the previously loyal customers. Do not sign up, you can never leave.
Since the child care center isn’t open I am not able to use the club and they said I would need a note from my doctor to suspend my membership. I explained The reason I go there is because they have the kids club so I am able to go. They said it doesn’t matter I still need a note from my dr. Very disappointing since I have been going there for about 7 years. They lost my business from here on out
Even though there is a literal pandemic I can’t cancel my membership, I was unaware that they extended it to april because I wasn’t told and when I said I am not comfortable with it because I don’t want to be at any risk for covid or spreading covid considering I work they said I have to be moving far or have a doctors note. I shouldn’t have to pay to not go to a gym when covid is getting worse every week. It’s unfair.
An update on my previous review. Tho Im still not happy about the price increase, I am happy with the staff and instructors. The staff took time to explain about the price increase and were friendly and professional about it. I felt that deserves an increase in the review. Original review follows-Overall, I had been happy with the Edge especially over the options in the area. That is until some recent changes. Been a member since 2009 with the plan that has access to all locations and group classes including Spin. Recently, they changed plans, and contrary to what I was told two weeks ago, removed Spin classes from the membership I have. The increase wont break the bank, but its the point. I prefer businesses that appreciate long-standing loyalty. Strictly my opinion, but this policy is in contrast to that which is why I brought my review down to a 3 star. Have to take policies into account. I know others may not feel the same.
Great gym that has a lot of different machines and awesome classes. The staff is also incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. The only thing I’d love to see different is having barbells with plates in the women’s only room. Other than that, I’d recommend this gym to anyone.
My 1st Gym! Love the X Classes and Eliptical Machines. I do miss seeing my favorite trainer Aida who taught at the Original Stratford Gym as well. Sauna is fantastic but I wish there was more privacy for the Massage chair area.
My wife has been told she cannot cancel membership unless she has a doctors note or she is moving. Since when can I not cancel a membership when I would like to?
Nice place witj fun people.. They offer classes that may interest you. Safe and secure.. The plaza offers many shops.. The price is very affordable and the classes they offer as extra are a good offering for the money. Inside is organized and will adress your needs.🔤😀🐟🐡
Hours posted are completely inaccurate. Please update actually hours of operation. After joining realized there were very few times I could actually use the facility. Love the movies
Great gym and nice staff. You should join!
Theres plenty of machines, equipment, and classes to keep your options plentiful! The staff can be a bit sales-y though, and will emphasize their personal trainers above all else.
This gym offers everything a fitness facility should. Very convenient location and friendly staff. My only complaint is that there’s no open area to jumprope without getting in the way. Otherwise this gym is amazing.
Have been a member of the Edge for many years and would not consider joining another gym. The staff is friendly and most of the clientele is friendly as well. I have actually become good friends with several people I have met at the Edge. That being said, I would like to point out a couple of issues I have with the place. #1, parking. The Stratford Edge is located in a busy shopping area and I often have to drive around several minutes looking for a parking spot. This definitely cuts into my work-out time. #2, the bodybuilders. It seems like every time I go, the place is overrun with bodybuilders. Most of them are extremely unfriendly and judgmental. I recently witnessed a gentleman who is a body builder tap a young man on the shoulder who was working on a weight machine. I actually heard him say to the kid Dude, thats MY machine! There is a separate area for women to workout, how about a separate area for bodybuilders.!
I’m part of the early morning crew. 4:30-5am. Staff is friendly and nice. Morning gym goers are all very nice and social. Every edge is swamped around 8-9am and after 3. Me and my workout partner decided to go real early to avoid the crowds. This method has worked extremely well. The Stratford edge employees I encounter are great and I’d give it 5 stars but due to the lack of equipment I give it 4. It’s a huge gym but if they know their going to have this many members they should have planned to supply more equipment and an even larger facility to accommodate all the members. Overall we love going early.
Best gym Ive been to this far. Very clean. Great vibes!
Great experience every time here. Its always clean, there is plenty of equipment, and the trainers are great.
Staff are great
I have had nothing but great experiences at the Stratford Edge. All of the employees give you their full attention when addressing a question, especially Sindy Chiche. She is the sales manager there and she is absolutely the best. The club members are also very nice and you do make some great friends, especially if you take some classes! Hands down the best gym Ive ever been to.
Great club. Great environment. Honestly, I just need more motivation. Hard.
Since the move it is greatly improved. The only reason 5 stars are not given is because only 2 staff members and the contracted maintenance guy have the common decency to say good morning. I am there daily Monday - Friday (and most Saturdays) George and Tony say hello. Otherwise I will look at trainers who I see every morning and apparently they believe that the people they see everyday who arent their clients dont deserve acknowledging. Perhaps it is a New England thing where most people fear that a smile indicates some sort of diseased condition. Otherwise this is an ideal gym excepting that there is only one water fountain for the ENTIRE GYM and they open relatively late on Saturdays (should be 5am as with Mondays) and close early on Sundays (should be 9pm). The facilities are impeccable. Good sauna. Excellent turf area. Bright, well designed.
Abc billing is a scam! Google it! If you like keeping your hard earned money, DO NOT SIGN THE AGREEMENT
Great place and i love the movie theater. I get into the movie and forget i am working out
Ive been a member of Edge Fitness Stratford for almost three years now. Some staff members are great but some dont have a great costumer service attitude. Like FREDDIE, he is most of the time rude and unfriendly. Front desk staff should be friendly and lively. If you will be rude to costumers, just stay home and sleep in your couch. Also, registering for Edge Strong Classes should be strict. There are times that the class is over packed and not enough equipment to use by each member. They should have a masters list of people who registered for the class and theyre the only one who can get in. People usually walk in late and stay in the class. They should stick to the maximum count of people in a class.Another thing that I can say is parking, it wasnt enough for all the members of the club. Most of the time I have to go around couple times to look for parking. I have PT on Monday afternoons and its a nightmare to find a spot to park.Other than those horrible things I mentioned, trainers are great! I love the strong Edge classes and the womens only room.
I visited the Stratford location on Saturday. I am currently a member at another location, looking for one in this area that meets my needs. I was not acknowledged by desk staff entering or leaving, no interaction from any personnel the entire time I was there. The location I go to ALWAYS welcomes us upon entering and will acknowledge us when we leave. Personnel will always nod or say hello while you are in the gym. The Stratford location is the most cold, unfriendly gym I have ever been to. Will not be frequenting that gym despite its location. I want a gym where I feel like I am part of it and that I am wanted there. Stratford does not meet that need at all. I gave it two stars instead of one due to the openness and airiness of the facility. Staff gets zero stars.
The edge fitness trainers did a poor job in developing my body and they were fired. I went to the hospital and my doctor and said never return to the edge fitness stratford because they dont know effective personal training techniques, and can cause permanent nerve damage. The edge fitness responded to my review with a link to edgecares, but I dont imagine that they ever cared.
Im learning alot of new routines from the personal training sessions, and also the nutrition information has helped me gain weight. Overall, Im very happy with the investment physically and financially. Hope this helps others on the edge of joining. They literally have it all. Just do it join up.
Very welcoming location. Great place to get a workout.
Great gym. It has everything I need to stay fit.
Be careful here. Edge cut the lock off a locker I kept my workout items in, along with an expensive pair of spinning shoes. I used the locker for months without issue. The manager there finally found my bag, guess what was missing — spinning shoes. Surprise, surprise!! I was never told of this policy to cut locks, when they took my money, not even an email!! I was obviously upset & told him someone stole the shoes. He denied, denied, denied. Again the shoes were there & they cut the lock & now there gone. I asked the manager to reimburse me, NOT gonna happen. This is very upsetting.
I love this gym. The employees are so kind and the equipment is top notch!
Horrible treatment supposedly by one of the managers..FREDDIE WHITEI have been with edge for many years and not 2 or 3 years. I am talking about 8 years. One of my good friends wanted to try out the gym for one day (one day pass) which I had done in the past. The gentleman demanded a $15 dollar charge or I can sign up for a $30 dollars membership per month or he was going to kick me out of the gym. I was about to leave and sign up at LA fitness. I was disgusted by the treatment I received by supposedly one of the managers
Very nice gym and up-to-date equipment and locker room. I love cardio cinema the most. I prefer to go to this location over all others.
Small but pleasant. What can I say, I go and workout and have no problems. Plenty of parking and the staff gets an A plus for friendliness. The bathroom at times have no paper towels. When that happens I tell the front desk and they put some in.
Been a member of gyms since the late 1970s. These guys have done an exceptional job of creating a great atmosphere with great equipment. Very well done. Id highly recommend this place.
This is my favorite gym to work out. I love the staff they make me feel like family and their challenge helped me lose 20 pounds. I would suggest especially if you like to take group exercise classes to come to the Edge because they have the best instructors.
The layout is terrible. The building is way to small and not enough machines to accommodate the amount of people that they allow in. Parking is ridiculous as well. The staff I would say is the best part of this location.
Everything about this gym is nice and convenient. They even have separate saunas in the men and womens locker rooms, a private room just for women to work out in, multiple studios for yoga, dance, or classes, and a movie theatre. Doesnt get much better than that.
Staff are great. Facility very clean. Edge Strong classes are the best. Wish they scheduled more during the day so that I can work around my work schedule Love my Courtney.
Best gym by far! Great trainers...helpful staff...they really want to see you succeed! Courtney B is the best...she gives you her full attention when shes with you and makes you feel shes really invested in your goals!
The Edge Stratford is by far the best gym / value in the area. The team of people there couldnt be more professional or willing with their time. It is the cleanest of the gyms in the area (I went to LA Fitness & Planet Fitness and their equipment wasnt ever wiped down - nor could I even find any wipes). The overall members at the Edge are also very courteous. Most members put the weights back and clean the equipment after use. There are always cleaning people in the gym, locker and shower areas keeping it super clean. The cinema cardio area is great to catch a movie and the open workout areas area always moving. You almost never have to wait for equipment. The trainers and staff are very accommodating. The GM, RIch and the other manager Andrew are always available. The trainers who I have the most experience with, JImmy B, James Mac have their clients best interest and will get you to where you want to go.The PT who worked the hardest and had me accomplish my goal of losing 25lbs in 3 months was Ryan W. His commitment to his clients and to their goals is unsurpassed. He holds you accountable for what you want to achieve. The classes are challenging and serious. This is no do it your way gym this is Do it the right way and be respectful to others, put in the effort and show up on time gym.I have the ability to go to at least 6 other gyms that are closer and choose to go to this Edge in Stratford. My only recommendation is......when will this location get soap and shampoo dispensers in the showers?
I’ve been a loyal member to the Edge fitness club for 4+ years. Visited many different locations and by far the front desk night crew at the Stratford Edge is the worse. They’re always too busy talking amongst themselves or chatting with their friends. Always takes them a while to notice you, even if you are standing right at the front desk for some time. Seems like it’s always a hassle for them to walk over and ask if you need any help. Also, on multiple occasions they have ran out of ice and were not able to provide shakes for their members....
Ive gone to a lot of fitness clubs and this by far is the best experience Ive ever had. I was really impressed with the variety of execercise areas. I definitely enjoyed the exercise theater.
Gym is ok but the staff is horrible. They have no customer consideration at all. The gym has members who have no consideration for others either. Not putting weights away and talking while others are waiting to use equipment. There are no paper towels in the gym at all. And there is a serious parking problem in the parking lot where you have to hunt for a space for ten minutes before you do your work out. On the other hand the gym is clean and for the most part the equipment is kept up mechanically. It’s not a bad gym but I miss the days of real gyms in the early 80s where their wasn’t a dress up show with the women and a work out was a work out. It seems today that free weights are gone only to be replaced by machines. The work out is just made easier and the intensity is lost. If you’re looking to keep in shape. It’s a passable gym. If you’re looking for inspiration and are a competitive body builder. Stay away. It’s like kindergarten compared to graduate school. They also screw you on the pricing. Offering you an incredible deal then raising the prices as soon as the ink is dried on the contract. All in all. There are much better gyms.
The facility is pretty nice, never too crowded. In my experience everyone that works there has been really friendly and helpful.
Great gym lots of space to get a good workout in even when it’s peak hour. Where are the paper towels though? People sweat at the gym.
Not as busy as other locations during the day. Good layout.
Great gym kinda crowded parking limited
Horrible staff at the front desk. Walked to the counter to request my agreement number. The guy asked me why, I responded its required when using the website as a member. I feel he should have known. At any rate, he saw I didnt utilize my personal training session and immediately wanted me to sign up with him. I told him I had a surgical procedure and will be working out on my own for now. He said what did you have done? I responded I dont think thats any of your business.... After all that, got home and the agreement number was incorrect. Thanks alot Thomas Haggerty. He needs coaching in customer communication.
Very clean and great staff. Always packed and parking sucks. Often hard to get to machines, etc. classes are great and lots of choices.
Very clean, great atmosphere, love it here!
This gym is packed to the brim- dont even try to go there on Mondays. I love the Edge but all of their locations on the shoreline are always so packed there arent free treadmills, stair masters, the sauna has 7 people in it and there are like three people to a machine, basically waiting in line. Its just not an enjoyable way to work out! They definitely need to re-adjust their pricing or structure so it limits the number of members at any location to avoid everyone from bridgeport down through Milford from going to one location (stratford). I dont blame everyone from Milford for going to Stratford b/c the Milford location needs a total overhaul.
My go 2 spot I love it
So much brotosterone. No open benches. Gets way too packed. Also, stop calling me. I dont want to do your free body evaluation which are just upsells. The marketing tactics are sickening. Im not referring 10 of my friends so they can get cold calls all day just for a free shake. I value my 10 friends more than that to sell them off for a shake. Such an overrated gym. Better than planet fitness... but I mean... is that even hard? Every time I step foot in this place a tiny piece of my soul exits my body. Just not my scene. Good thing Im locked into a contract :D
The Edge in Stratford is by far the worst Gym I have ever been a member of, and Ive held memberships at a lot of gyms. Unfriendly clientele, annoying staff, horrible equipment.Equipment: The plates dont slide smoothly onto the bars, and get stuck consistently. There arent enough barbells for the equipment in the gym. There arent enough 45lb plates in the gym and you end up protecting your weights from thieves. Some of the leg machines cotter pins dont stay in place and the machines will constantly become unhinged and mess up during a workout.Clientele: The worst part of this gym is the etiquette of the members. No one has any clue whats going on. Members lift less than a foot from the dumbbell racks, making it impossible for other members to get weights. People will come to a rack you are using (e.g. smith machine) and take the weights you have if you arent paying attention without asking. I workout with my wife and we use different weights, and if I turn to spot her they will steal my 45 lb plates. Everyone leaves everything everywhere, no remorse, they just leave their crap everywhere without racking it. People will 4-5 different machines throughout the gym and get upset when you didnt realize they were using it from across the gym.Staff: The trainers in this gym are the biggest joke. They have the worst etiquette of all the members, leaving weights, working out in inconvenient areas, not asking to take weights, and having no clue what they are talking about, with qualifications like has always been into sports and motivated to help you do your best. These arent qualifications, just crap to make you think they have a clue. The only reason I workout here is I live across the street, but am contemplating giving up my 3 minute walk for a 25 minute drive to Powerhouse. If youre serious about the gym, you should never consider Stratford Edge.
Great desk staff and management. All positive experiences with trainers, too. Looking forward to experiencing the new location!
Such a nice, friendly staff! Only thing I didnt care for was being pro rated when I signed up and I was charged almost a full months fee extra,I didnt understand why it cost so much considering I paid for the first month which should have started the day I signed up
Love the Edge. Great classes, great instructors !
I had a second encounter with Zach Falconeri a fitness manager at The Edge at Stratford, CT. He is very disrespectful and judgmental. He doesn’t know anything about customer service. First time I met him he disrespected me by getting mad at me because he couldn’t hear what I was saying to him. The second encounter with him was even worst. He judged me and my honest opinions about going to the gym and shut down anything that I was trying to say. At the end of my results meeting with him,he was trying to sell me on paying extra for a personal trainer and I was trying to tell him I don’t want it, but he cut me off saying “I know you don’t care” and ignored me. He then gave his card to my friend and told her to have a nice day like I wasn’t there.
Just joined a few days ago did like the way zack 1 of the manager came at me for not wanting to pay for a trainer. Cause I first I was going to do it but when my wife and I got home. She told me we could pay for that right now.so she call the little prick up and told him to cancel the trainer. The very next day I come in to work out with my wife and the ass hole yells across the gym and says I very disappointed in you 2. I looked at him and wanted to choke the hell out of him but I kindly reply with a thumbs up and said to my wife a what a class act. So now Im writing this complaint about it. Other than that Im in join my self there. P.s I really hope I dont have to address this problem. With the little guy.
Ive been a member of the edge at multiple facilities for over 5 years. I can say the Stratford gym is by far the worst. I have made numerous attempts to bring the shortcomings of this facility to the management and staff that work there. Its obvious theyre much more interested in socializing with each other showing off or possibly selling personal training. Its really disappointing and in fact oftentimes dangerous how messy the gym is its very very frustrating that its the closest and most convenient gym but I still think I might quit just because of how awful it is. If the edge s ownership invested in upgrading anything in that facility it would be an improvement but its obvious the only thing they invest in are marketing and developing other facilities, this place is crumbling and I imagine it will close
Best gym Ive ever belonged to!
I have a medical condition not allowing me to work out as much as i used too, so when i decided to cancel at the edge, i had to talk to multiple representatives at customer care, each gave me different excuses as to why my account could not be cancelled even though i had a doctors note. One said that i need my note to say permanently disabled after i already called my doctor and received my note. These people literally go to the ends of the earth to keep your money.
I love this place, its always clean, nice environment to work out, everyone is polite. I been in different locations but i like the Stratford one the most.
Called the place to cancel my membership once i was done with my contract they said i was all set, thought i was done, but all they did was take my credit card info off file but was still charging me without me knowing so i ended up owing a ton of money, i will tell everyone i know not to sign up at any edge fitness centers, they are expensive for no reason, they are horrible with giving their customers information that they NEED. its a waste of time and money sign up ANYYYWHERE else NOT HERE!!! they will rob you in anyway they possibly can.
Went into the Stratford Edge this Morning- And was told to ask for KARLY the manager. She confronted us and was extremely rude right off the bat to my wife and I demanding we take a seat wait for someone else. When I started to explain my situation to her, she rudely interrupted me and said that she doesn’t want to talk about our issues and demanded again that we take a seat and wait for a club member. She is a extremely Belligerent and stuck up person! WHAT KIND OF MANAGER TREATS CUSTOMERS THIS WAY!! All the Stratford Edge cares about is locking you into a 24 month contract and can careless about you afterwards. STAY AWAY!!!!
If i could give 0 stars I would. This is probably the worst gym ever!! Dont come year, there contracts are terrible
BE VERY CAREFUL coz you will be signing into a *CONTRACT* which is handled by by far the worst *ABC FINANCIAL* company ever. The staff members dont know what information to provide and what not. Initially we were told that just sign here and there for the registration purpose well we actually were singing into the contract(we didnt knew about it). Then we were told that the fairfield gym provided all three plans. But when i decided to downgrade my membership they straight away said we dont provide 10$ plan in fairfield and whoever told you that we do, didnt know. I m like dude its our money. We have right to know what is and what is not from a definite source. Coz our decision to join the gym are based on the info you guyz provide......briefly worst, frustrating experience ever. Plz guyz do not join
Pleaseeeee get more squat racks...three racks for a gym is ridiculous. Yesterday I couldnt even do my full workout because there was never a free rack.
The edge is is a great place to go the staff are helpful, trainers are supportive and listen to you and create personalized workouts you can do on your own . the best part are the results I have achieved in strength and weight loss. I plan on staying with The Edge, looking forward to the new building at the Dock shopping center.
Great staff and gym. Worst service with cancelling almost impossible. Even after previously moved out of state. They initially cancelled, come to find out they never did.
Great staff great work out environment
Average amenities club.Rather poorly run: irregular shower soap/shampoo supply, machines, TVs and services are frequently down for repairs for several days.No towels provided in the locker rooms.Sauna and tanning machines are present, but not always operated its best.Pricing seems fair though - you get what you pay for :)They charge approximately $50 annually besides $22 monthly, $5 milkshakes, $1 fruits, drinks and other snacks are approximately 20% higher that you can get anywhere in Stratford.
Do not join edge fitness if you think youre going to move. Its a pain to cancel membership even when you show proof that youre moving away. They make it look like a cheap gym but its a trick how they charge you money few months after you join and make it so difficult for you to cancel membership. You have to send a proof to an outside company and they take over a month to process so basically youre paying till they process. I have wasted more money on this gym thinking it doesnt cost too much than I wouldve in another gym. Ridiculowus! And theres no way for you to speak to edge fitness about it because they dont discuss finances.
Its a good feeling when your gym has machines that are always operational. Not only that, but the staff is constantly cleaning each area.
Excellent place well maintained .... love this place
Carly Ciambrello is a fantastic instructor I recommend her class to everyone I know!
Horrible experience trying to cancel my service. You basically have to pull your pants down and bend over to get them to acknowledge that youve moved out of the region.
This gym isnt the worst, but theres little things about it thats leading me to consider cancelling. For starters the locker room area is kind of gross. The area by the showers doesnt have a drain, so as you walk to the showers you risk stepping into huge pools of water, which is not only unsanitary but a huge injury risk for slip and fall. Once you get into the shower they have a weird substance that I think is shampoo, but no actual soap, so you essentially have to bring your own. The gym itself is fine, but theres some standard pieces of equipment that they dont have. How does a gym not have an EZ bar? Theres also no cable cross machines, which I also find odd. They also have no Wi-Fi, so if youre there for 1 hour+ like I am sometimes, you drain your data and battery since the cell phone service inside the building is terrible, and thats with me using both Sprint and Verizon during my time there.Another thing thats become a huge problem is the parking at the gym. I normally go on my lunch to avoid the 5pm after work crowd, but with Zumba classes going on around the time that I get there, there is literally nowhere to park. I end up having to park in a lot behind the gym. With that said, there are positives. The staff is pretty good and they are one of the only Edge locations to have a sauna, which comes in clutch on Mondays after a long weekend. The big reason Im probably going to cancel is the fact that once your introductory rate runs out, youre paying close to $30 a month. If Im paying $30 a month for a gym it should be clean like an L.A. Fitness. This place is like a Planet Fitness with weights over 85 lbs. You can tell that once the gym had a steady clientele of members they eased up on amenities and extras to save money.
They close too early on Friday and the weekend. The 24hr thing is only from mon-thurs at 1 or 2 locations. For the price we pay, they should stay open longer.
Ryan is always a great help with questions that I have.
