Like many places they are clearly struggling with being short staffed - we waited nearly 40 minutes for our cocktails, and I had to ask for someone to come over and take our order after sitting around for more than 25 minutes. Food was solid - blackened scallops were amazing, and the mussels marinara were great. Cocktails were pretty meh - watered down when we got them, and pretty flat; nothing to get excited about. Overall, Im not impressed, but given the area its not bad I guess? Im sure they mean well, and if you dont eat in good restaurants very often this place is probably fine.

I have come here twice in the past month. Theyre homemade bread that they serve you is delicious. I really suggest the eggplant rollatini as an appetizer. However if you are a fan of fried calamari, get it, they have both the circle pieces and the tentacle type its a great portion and they fry the hot cherry peppers with it. By far my favorite is there pizza. I made my own with meatballs onions and roasted red peppers. Their meatballs are Finley sliced and delicious. The sauce has a great flavor. We ordered the extra large and it was literally huge. I will absolutely be coming back.

My favorite restaurant! It’s very nice inside, always clean, all the staff is awesome and very personable. The food is always consistent, comes out fast, always very good. Their pizza is great, the steak tips, the chicken and eggplant parm, the rigatoni alla vodka are just a few of my favorites !

A rare combination of beautiful quality and quantity. I don’t often leave reviews, but this place deserves a glowing one. I had the lobster bisque and the chicken spinaci and I would recommend both dishes whole heartedly. The lobster bisque was creamy, with a lovely depth of flavor and a hint of spice shining through. The chicken spinaci came on a plate packed with chicken. In the sauce you can find the flavor of the high quality mozzarella that is used here. The service is prompt and friendly. A real treat.If I had to critique something I would say that I don’t think the linguine are home made. Having those be fresh would take the dish to the next level for me.My compliments and thanks to the chef - I’ve had similar dishes in Italy that don’t even come close to what you are producing here. I’m not in the area very often, but I will try to be back.

Food was good. Large portions. Server was fanomil. Dessert cakes were not. Carrot cake was hard as a rock. Not frozen, but stale.

In short I had a simple traditional Italian entree that came out as if it was the interpretation of the same by a gas station diner grill cook from Alabama.I always give Italian places the same test. I order chicken fettuccine alfredo (sometimes with capers) and if that goes well, I’ll come again and try something else next time.This is not a hard dish. It has three ingredients; pasta, sauce, and chicken so the bar is low.In this case they used fried chicken. This was a new one for me and not particularly pleasant. Their choice of fettuccine was very heavy but at least the sauce was decent. Overall I didn’t want to finish it (rare) and certainly didn’t want to take home leftovers.The service was good, the ambiance was good but without good food I’ll pass.

Generous portions very good Italian. The outdoor dining set up is done well. Could use more heaters and a bit more atmosphere ...but provides ventilation well while private and without passers by breathing on you.

It was always busy place but I do have my all time fave here. Good customer service.

Recently had my babyshower here.Staff was friendly and professional. The food was excellent. Everyone that attended my shower, complimented on how efficient the staff was and how cute the venue was. The room ambience with natural light was beautiful. The food was fresh and were huge portions. Everyone went home with left overs that day.What a memorable experience, Im so thankful the staff did everything they could to make me and my guests happy.I will be back and I highly recomend this restaurant!

Went there following a family funeral. Service was wonderful as always and from the Lobster Ravioli to the Pizza, the food was great.

Unbelievable veal schnitzel

I’m upset that my father and I didn’t have the same experience as the other reviews seem to be getting. I just left this restaurant while having lunch outside. I never got our servers name but she was extremely awful at her job. She’s disappear for 20 minutes at a time. We came her for a drink and a quick salad with steak tips and it took over 1 hour just to get our food. You’d also think that once a table leaves you should clear it down and sanitize it. Our server just left everything on the tables for over an hour. I wish I had her name because that kind of service will push people away from this establishment. 8/18

My family ordered Easter takeout and it was absolutely delicious. Huge portions of sliced ham with pineapple slices, mashed potatoes, roasted carrots and Brussels sprouts. It was arranged so beautifully even for to go food in foil containers. We’ll absolutely be going back on the weekends for takeout while all this craziness is happening. Thank you for making our Easter special!

We had our sons christening here a few weeks ago and where do I even begin! First off Debbie was so easy to talk to and a huge help when planning for the christening. She was very quick to respond to phone calls and emails. The wait staff was so efficient and very attentive. A lot of my guests were very pleased with them and said they were all very nice! Now for the food... From the appetizers to dessert everything was delicious. Everyone complimented on the food and said how good it was. My personal favorite was the Pasta Louie and everyone who ordered it raved about the dish!! Our other choices included the chicken parm and the haddock which all said they were very good as well. If anyone is looking for a place to have a function look no further, with the wonderful wait staff and delicious dishes you wont be disappointed!We will definitely be back for dinners and future events here at Gaetanos!Thank you all again for a wonderful afternoon!

Had a great takeout experience during the shutdown, just left the outside seating area. I had the mussels white appetizer, which was so delicious. They were following the new guidelines and I enjoyed my experience.

I go to this excellent restaurant from time to time since I like the good air that is unique to this restaurant. The crew is extraordianrillyremarkably welcoming and professional. The service is extraordinarily rapid. Needless to say, the food you eat is outstanding. I visited many times and I was always delighted. The expense is decent. I recommend this restaurant to to all.

Perhaps I was expecting more after reading several wonderful reviews. The food was average, at best. Definitely wouldn’t recommend anything with chicken. My husband and I both had chicken dishes and they certainly left a lot to be desired. Almost tasted rubbery. Very crowded seating. Waitress was extremely nice and apologetic but obviously taking care of too many tables. One bartender for the whole restaurant?! We literally finished our appetizers before there was any type of beverage on our table. Not sure I’d return.

My first time here and we were a party of 9 on New Years day. We were seated on time for our reservation and the food and service was outstanding.

First time at Gaetanos in 20 years. Glad we gave it a second shot. Mussels were delicious, very fresh. Entrees were tasty.

Extremely disappointed. When we arrived for lunch after making reservations we were told that there was no lunch menu so we still ordered and received the lunch portion for the dinner price. I got the pasta Louise which was suppose to have asparagus and sun dried tomatos and there was hardly no tomatos and the asparagus was all stems. I understand that this is a hard time for restaurants but it is also a hard time for patrons. It was very expensive and it was lousy.

The BEST chicken marsala around. Never had I had a better dish! Excellent atmosphere... very clean and courteous staff. Excellent wine selection. Parking in rear of building ..excellent place to go after a theatre show but you should make reservations. Varied dessert selection. Fresh salads. Big portions enough to take some home!!! If you love authentic Italian food this is a must try!!

We had a great dinner at Gaetano’s last night. Good selections for each of us. Our server, Francesca, was so nice! Even while she had a big table, she made sure she watched for our meals. She made our experience enjoyable with conversation and proud sharing about her talented daughter.

Tried this place already with a friend and I am obsessed since then. I like the good atmosphere and delightful dishes and drinks. Fantastic work.

Second time we have been there since the change in owner/chef. Food was delicious both times, the sauce is excellent, and service has been very good. Pricing is in line with other Italian food restaurants, if not less than some. Definitely will continue going here, & recommend to others.

We went at lunchtime and we were a party of 10. I saw the waitress role her eyes as the order was a little confusing, (some guests wanted their drinks at meal time) Food was decent. I asked everyone at the table to rate their plates. Everyone gave 6 and 7. Atmosphere was great 👍

Not the best experience. We ordered an appetizer of broccoli, which was good and a pizza. The appetizer was brought out with the pizza 25 mins after we ordered. The pizza was average, but they served a good pour of wine. Cozy little place with friendly staff, but overall an underwhelming dinner. Tried a new place, but well skip this one next time.

Food and service excellent

We had the veal parmesan and the chicken parmesan. Both were very good. Unfortunately, we were there at 7 p.m. on Saturday, which is the busiest time of the week. Given that, the service was pretty good. However, the place is packed and there is very little room between the tables so the waitresses have to snake around to get to your table and its very difficult for you to get out. Worst part was that it was incredibly noisy. That really spoils the whole experience. 0 for ambience, 5 for food quality. Parking is a little inconvenient and not obvious. Its around back and you go into the entrance for what it says is a condominium!

Got take out last night for the first time. Ordered a couple of different things including pizza, 2 different chicken entrees and salad. Everything was great. Will definitely order from there again.

The place offers a fantastic range of delicious food. I enjoyed dining here. The employees are always super nice, rates are affordable and the spot is always neat.

My parents love this place and are becoming more frequent visitors. I have been once and my meal was really good. I had a pizza, and I particularly liked the crust AND sauce. Dinners are large and I was not upset about the prices. The owner and the hostess both came over, the hostess first and the owner after we ate, to see how our meal tasted. I liked that, and especially that it didnt feel awkward. The bar is pretty cool, and Im told this place is popular for drinks. They are open late, we sat down to eat around 10pm, and Id range the crowd to be from 35-60 years old. There is parking in the office lot in back after business hours.

Live music was fantastic. Older crowd, but the energy was good, food was good. Clams casino, blackened scallops were fantastic.

Family favorite. Had daughters Communion private party there and just this past Sept 16,2019 she passed away from brief illness at 24yrs old and I had her after funeral gathering there. Both celebrations were handled professionally, food outstanding and the excellent accommodations and extra work they had to suddenly do upon the arrival of 20+ unexpected guests after funeral was OUTSTANDING! SCORE 1-5 5 BEING BEST: FOOD 5, SERIVCE 5, PARKING 4 (not there fault its towns location or lack of spots available)

Its pretty good, I had the shrimp and father had stuffed haddock that was excellent. Wait staff was nice and prompt. Its a local joint but its decent and the price was good. I have no issues with this place. I would recommend.

Wont be going back.We ordered takeout (with a 4month old and 3yo this is our only option right now). It was meh. Fettuccine Alfredo and Veal Saltimboca. The garlic bread with cheese was the best part.

Very disappointing during this visit. Me and my party didnt get what we ordered and had to be sent back. We were the only ones there at 2 pm. Ive been other times when service was great and food was great. Not only bad service but food was very salty. Hope thats not the way its always going to be.

The best service

I had eggplant parmesan a very large portion it was very good. The service was very slow when the waitperson came to the table to ask if the hostess came by to tell us why it was taking so long and we said no she told us they had a couple of big orders but it would be coming out soon. I think when the kitchen cant keep up someone should let the other customers know.

Honestly, one of the worst dining experiences I ever had. I have NEVER sent a meal back before, and my “medium” steak was brought to me well done 3 separate times. Our server couldn’t have been nicer and she totally agreed that each Filet was worse than the next. The owner brought the last try at medium. Didn’t ask how it was. Dropped it off and practically ran off. The waitress saw my steak and immediately apologized and said she would get the manager. The manager came over and didn’t even ask about the situation. He did take the steak (only) off of the bill, however wasn’t apologetic. The wait staff was awesome and couldn’t stop apologizing. The manager was behind them on the stairs and wouldn’t come down them and said nothing.There are so many better dining choices in the Stoneham area that has better food and care about their customers. Again, I have NEVER sent a meal back, yet 3 of them. The owner/manager should be ashamed of himself. I hope this review will help someone avoid the experience that we had.

First time here and we were a party of 6 on New Years eve. Seated on time for our reservation and the food and service were outstanding.

Unhappy mother’s day, made a reservation a week in advance, we did not get a table in the dining room as expected and they told the 4 of us to sit at a bar table with People hanging over us. Very uncomfortable, We just got up and left. Not going there any time soon If at all.

Went for lunch, dinner menu only. Did not know till it was time to order.

My wife and I ate there Thursday evening and it was one of the worst Italian meals we’ve ever had. Service was good, but the pasta was watery. There was no sign of egg or pepper in the Fettuccine Carbonara and the scallops might as well have been rubber. The Saltimbuca was also watery, the veal was flavorless, and the cheese was not even melted. Their bread was chewy. Definitely not what one would expect based on the other reviews.

It was a company function, so I cant speak to pricing, but the food was delicious and service was quick!

This was our first time at Gaetanos Restaurant. We sat at the bar and our waitress (Christine) was very friendly and attentive. We both ordered Chicken Parmesan Panini sandwich. The sandwich was fantastic and with a side of salad (fries are available too). We also meet the owner too. He was super friendly!! We will definitely be going there again soon. Sorry no pictures of our food because we were very hungry.

Food was excellent. Kinda miffed about billing. My mom left a cash tip...but when she got her credit card statement she was charged $12 more than what was on the Bill. A gratuity... We cant prove that we left a tip as it was in cash... We learned our lesson to write cash tip on the receipt.

I thought Gaetanos used to be great. Price, quality and selection of food and wine were excellent. Then they eliminated the salad and upped the prices. Then the wine went skyward. Then they redecorated and took whatever charm it had away. Dont like the new menu as much and the quality of the food has declined - although I still give them points for quality of the food. Just not the level it used to be a couple of years ago. And I find the staff less friendly unless youre a regular - and by regular I mean go there weekly. I went pretty often and introduced many people to this restaurant, but Ive noticed in the last year that people who criticized them for not paying attention to anyone they didnt know were right. Gaetanos was my favorite neighborhood restaurant. Not any more. Im hoping someone good takes over the Molise space in Wakefield. Im completely open to change - when its an improvement. Gaetanos has not made a change thats improved my dining experience.

Enjoyed chicken parmesan and Super Tuscan wine very much. Kinda loud atmosphere. We did not have reservations which seemed like it would be an issue. However after a montent we were promptly seated.

Food is very good. Drink prices are reasonable. I really liked the Tiarimisu martini.

Brought my 97 y o Dad for mussels scampi. He loved them. Good handicapped access from street side and back parking lot. BTW rollitini was delicious too
