I usually dont post reviews, but the customer service was not great at all. I went to the shop on a Friday and was told that my computer would not be touched until Wednesday, which is understandable. I was in the process of getting checked in, and I started to ask questions about the possible cost of the repair and the typical turnaround time. The staff also asked me to sign a document, so I had questions about that as well. I was met with so much push back and I was told to leave if I didnt want to sign the paper and get checked in. There was complete disregard for my concerns. If a customer has questions about a document you are asking them to sign, then you should be willing to answer the questions that follow. It was also pretty off-putting that I was told my laptop problem was very common but a cost range couldnt be given and a nonrefundable diagnostic was also necessary. If the problem was common, the unwillingness to give some information appears a little dishonest in my opinion. Wouldnt recommend this place to anyone based on poor customer service and lack of transparency.
Ive worked on my own computers for most of my life, but the issue I had with installing a replacement battery in my Razer laptop want something I could address.My experience with Jims was awesome! Brittany answered the call and not only understood my issue, but when I dropped the laptop by their place, remembered the conversation and was able to accurately write up the work order without my having to go through it all again.Jim called me when promised with what they found and when I picked it up, Hollis (the gentleman whod actually done the work) gave me a brief rundown. They were spot-on with their estimate.Next time I have a computer problem, Ill definitely take it to Jims.
I have an 2011 imac that wasnt working anymore and these guys fix it up like new I appreciate the honesty and quick service would definitely recommend jims computers

Being legally blind, I depend on my Windows 10 computer for a lot (I.e. reading newspapers, writing documents, reading my mail using OCR and a document camera, email, shopping, etc.). When my laptop died, I had to get a replacement fast. I thought with my knowledge as a full-time computer instructor and my fully sighted wife, we could build our own and get what I needed. After killing a CPU we decided to turn to Jim’s Computers to build it for us. They did an excellent job! They did things promptly and accurately. I will certainly go to them for future upgrades, since at least for me a custom desktop is much better than a prebuilt, since I can comtrol what parts I need.
I went to this location to have my laptop repair based on the wonderful reviews it had as well as customer service. However my experience with the business was not that great. I was meet with a man who’s attitude was almost as if it was a bother I was there in the first place. I felt like I was taking up his time. I understand that everyone has off days but still unprofessional. I was suppose to have some type of diagnostic by Wednesday since I dropped it off on Friday afternoon. It was Wednesday afternoon and had still not received notification on the status of my laptop. I called to get an update. I was told my laptop had not been touch yet since there was others before me. It would have been nice to have gotten some kind of update either thru text or email just to know the status of my laptop since I was told i would have gotten a notification by Wednesday. I received a call on Thursday with a diagnostic of my laptop that it was better to just buy a new laptop since the repairs would cost more than $500 dollars. I went to pick up my laptop the next day from the store and again the guy who helped me seemed to be bothered to help me by just giving me my laptop. When I turn on my laptop later that week I realized that it had a had time retaining power. If I simply unplugged the charger my computer would die. It could not stay on no matter how much I charger it and then took the plug off. This had never been an issue prior to have taken it to that laptop repair shop. I understand that this was my experience with this company and perphaps others have had a wonderful experience with them. However, based on my experience with them I will not be returning for any futureServices with this company. And I would heavily advised anyone when picking up a laptop from them to turn on their computer before leaving the premise to make sure everything works properly.

Small mom and pop computer spot in Stockton is honestly exactly what you want from a computer perspective these days, and this is a great example! Hollis is very knowledgeable, prices are good, and its just a no frills good place. Anything computer related just come on down to Jims. Theyll take care of you 👍🏼
Came in with a few issues on my laptop, they gave me a free diagnosis and fixed the issue for a small fee. They were very helpful and informative. Definitely recommend for anyone looking for computer service.

The gentleman who answered the phone asked the most general of questions and left it all hanging with this air of ‘I can’t do anything for you.’ which was about 20 seconds of flat silence: not why don’t you bring it in and let’s us check. It was one of the most uncomfortable customer service experiences I’ve ever had. These guys couldn’t care less about whether my computer is operational. Really surprised given all the positive reviews.
