Very friendly service at a reasonable price for synthetic oil change. They also have some good deals on oil change packages that you can use on any car in your household. Brought me into the garage to look under my car and show me where some oil was leaking but I did not feel pressured to get that repair scheduled. Got lots of nice Rick’s 36 swag, which was a nice touch! I didn’t notice the stuffed bears in my kids’ car seats until I picked them up from preschool - such a fun surprise for them!

Always excellent and timely service at Ricks. I had them perform a pre-purchase inspection, they were able to get me in quickly and turned the inspection around in exactly an hour, as promised. These are the type of mechanics that give mechanics a bad name. I went to Ricks because a previous garage, which had changed the oil on our RV said our tires were showing some dry rot and we might what them replaced. They only had 35,000 miles, so I wanted a second opinion. Ricks was recommended. I called and made an appointment to have my tires evaluated and replaced as needed. When I arrived, they told me there was a $120 charge for this. I was not told when I made the appointment. If I had been told, I would not have had them do it, but since I was already there; I decided to let it go. They contacted me the next day and said the tires were fine, but had found $1,900 worth of other maintenance items that they recommended. Most would have been found by the first business if they really existed. I declined. When I went to pick up my RV the charge was not $120 but $122 plus $10.38 for shop charges.

Excellent service! They saved us when we were on a trip out of town and the fuse in my accessible van blew. They got us right in and helped us change the fuse and even gave us a few for the road in case it happened again. Polite, professional, and went out of their way! Highly recommend!!

Ricks 36 was the friendliest and most thorough mechanical shop I’ve ever used. I’ve been back for maintenance issues on both of my vehicles. Sometimes very short notice and they always handle me with care. And, recognizing my busy schedule they allowed me to use their loaner vehicles, which are always very clean and reliable vehicles. They have even been willing to take me to the grocery store while I wait on an oil change and then pick me up. The work they do is quality too. They stand behind it with a 36 month guarantee to work too! Really gives you confidence in choosing them over and over again!

They are very welcoming, they did a good job on my front brakes (it was a bit pricey though), but I since then I have been there multiple times within a month and a half with the same electrical issue and they still have not resolved it or even figured out what is causing said issue

One of the few places that do brakes on motor homes. Most RV places done work on the chassis. Truck shops don’t like to work on motor homes. And most car repair shops don’t have room.

Automatic window repair .. billed at ~$500, competitor estimated ~$350. Grossly overcharged for what was done.

Rick’s 36 also did full diagnostic work and gave me pricing estimates and a list of recommended repairs/services. I appreciate their attention to detail, as well as their understanding when I explained I needed to hold off on repairs for the time being. Frederick and Mars are cordial, humble men.

I am so disappointed with Ricks 36 Service. I was hoping to find a honest automotive place. We moved to Stillwater 3 years ago and I am still looking. They charged me $61.07 to Remove and Replace a cabin air filter. After looking on line, the most expensive filter cost $25 and looking at YouTube, you can change a filter in 3 minutes even as they explain everything. I have always owned older cars so I never knew about the Cabin Air Filter and that is why I agreed for them to do it. Taken advantage of again so still looking for an honest automotive place in Stillwater.

This was an excellent experience. Everyone I spoke with and met was professional, polite and very easy to deal with.My only regret is that I have not used Ricks all along! I will be a returning customer.

Needed a signal light bulb replaced. I was able to get in for service in 2 hours and it took about 20 minutes to fix. Great service and such a reasonable price it wouldn’t have been worth my while to do it myself. I am going to start doing my business there.

Had my car in for brake repair after dealer quoted me an outrageous price. Fred was awesome, kept me up to date on the repair, as it took a little longer than usual. They told me the damage was likely contaminated brake fluid from maintenance at the dealer in June :-( I will be coming back to Ricks for service on this car and my truck. Thank you!

I was incredibly impressed with Ricks 36 Automotive. They were incredibly helpful, professional, did a great job on fixing the (many) issues with our older vehicle, and also stayed in touch throughout the process to keep us updated - with text message updates and phone calls as needed. I think their prices are competitive although it is often difficult to compare across repair shops. I have used Ricks 36 for at least 12 years and plan to continue bringing my car there.

Had a check engine light on, and they took care of it quickly. I drove it for a couple weeks afterward before leaving this review just to make sure everything was fine. No complaints here.

Probably a great business in its own way, yet I found somewhere else that was willing to work out an arrangement and not try to bleed me dry. Sure some people in the past have ruined the kind of business auto shops used to be, over all if you have a fat wallet and can afford an over glorified shop come to Ricks 36.

Courteous and knowledgeable service staff and technicians. really pay attention to maintenance schedules, and will give a very clear rating of how soon maintenance work needs to be completed. they have helped us keep our vehicles in good working order well past 200,000 miles! Very fair and considerate of budget constraints. Always available to talk with us about solutions and options!

Classic small town american garage. I have Mars and Evan service my jeep every time I go there and they do an absolutely excelent job. They make sure to explain what is going on and that you have an understanding of everything before they do their work. They also have an online portal where you are able to access real time pictures of your vehicle and see an itemized list of issues that need immediate and eventual addressing. I have confidence in their repairs and if I ever do have a question, they put my safety and doing whats right before all else.- overall they are an excelent value and work to make partners with their customers for repeat business.

I have now taken my vehicles into Ricks on four different occasions for basic maintenance to include oil change, transmission fluid and filter, rotations, and alignments. I have found the staff to be pleasant and knowledgeable. On each occasion, they identified a problem I did not bring the vehicle in for. In each case, I agreed with there diagnosis so my initial thoughts are they are an honest group. My only concern is the cost of the larger jobs. My most recent visit, they pointed out I needed the struts replaced on my 2009 Camry with 140,000 miles. They were correct and quoted me $2,600. After a little research, I found a highly reviewed strut and spring assembly that cost me $600 for all four. I expect to spend the better part of my Saturday replacing them. Maybe 6 hours. If my time is worth $100 an hour my total cost is $1,200 which is quite a difference. Dont get me wrong, I dont mind paying for a certain skill set..........but $1,600 extra is just too much. Same thing with a front end brake job. They quoted $600 and I paid $200 plus two hours of a Saturday. Again though, I like the shop and the people so will continue to bring my vehicle in for basic maintenance.

I called in to Ricks late morning earlier this week to get a minor problem fixed. They bent over backwards to schedule an inspection right away. They kept me posted by text message on when the car was on the hoist and what the problem(s) was. The car was ready a couple of hours later. I recommend Ricks to anyone who wants quick and reliable service.

Knowledgeable staff, Owner (Mars) is a great guy and gave me a ride himself. Provided quote promptly and stayed within it. They did try to upsell several service items, but all were with integrity and would have been a valid investment had I chosen to accept them.

Women and mechanics: I am used to being treated as dumb. I felt so respected by everyone in the shop. Waiting in the courtyard outside, sun shining, smelling lilacs surrounding the courtyard. I get a text with the report of what is going on inside the shop, along with pictures of some of the issues in my vehicle! Great report to show my husband, rather than trying to explain things I dont understand. So I called after I left the shop about a magazine I was reading there, asking Evan if he could set it aside for me when they are ready to dispose of it. He said absolutely. I told him I would be come the next day or so and get it---I get home from my afternoon of shopping, and the magazine is on my front porch!! Who does that?! Incredible customer service, trustworthy work.

These guys were very friendly and professional. I brought my fleet car in for repair and they did an excellent job. I also liked the shuttle back to my house. Don’t go to the big chains until you check these guys out!

We are new to Stillwater and I came in just for an oil change, after reading some very positive reviews. I received top of the line service from start to finish, plus a FULL free vehicle inspection report. Not to mention a token of excellent customer service: a thank you note inside my car left by the person who serviced it. There is no doubt that we will be returning for our future car servicing needs, and that I will be referring anyone I know to Ricks 36.

I heard about Rick’s from a friend and called to schedule routine service for my Mercedes. Not only did they fit me in that day, but the cost was half of the dealer’s. Then I went back the next day for something I found (unrelated), and they fixed that the same day, as well. And, all in town! Great service.

This place does really professional work, and they want to make sure that everything is done correctly before the vehicle pulls out of the bay door. I highly recommend!

Overall I like Rick’s 36. They offer a lot of bells and whistles, like a vehicle assesment with pics, and customer drop off. This is less important to me than quality honest reliable service. Every garage I have ever been to has let me down (overcharged, poor work quality, forgot to do work, poor communication, lied, something) at some point and I moved on. Rick’s is not cheap, and their suggested service intervals based on mileage can get a little annoying, but they do good work and they communicate. 2 of the three check boxes for me. Price is the reason I still do some of my own service. That said, I trust Rick’s, and I’m hard to impress.

Ricks 36 is always willing to accommodate my busy schedule and provide timely service. They do the little extras that ensure customer loyalty. For example, when my boat trailer had a wiring short the night before I was leaving for vacation, their electrical specialist came in on Saturday morning to fix the problem and get me on my way!

I brought my car in for a routine oil change, during which they found some very serious cracks in my serpentine belts. They were super courteous and made sure they discussed with me all of the problems they found, gave me estimates on pricing and the time it would take to fix. They even gave me a loaner car to use for the day while repairing my car. Every staff member was friendly and genuinely concerned that I understood what was going on with my car and that they did everything I asked. Wonderful people in general and all very good at their jobs. An overall pleasant experience and I would definitely recommend them for general maintenance as well as other specific car problems! Friendly, honest. Replaced timing belt (over due maintenance). Took less time than originally quoted. Clean work area, was able to inspect used parts. I Recommend to my friends.

AC needed recharging, they recharged it and still working good. Also had an oil change done. Appreciated the ride to work while they worked on my vehicle. Candy Jar still has candy in it. Yay.

My alternator quit last night and I had to be towed on a Sunday evening. The driver suggested Ricks. Im from out of town, and took his recommendation. I called at 7:30 this morning to start the work and was on my way back to the facility. They took my truck in about 8:15, I was back on the road by 9:35. They even had a guy come out and help me lift my canoe back on top that they had removed before I arrived. And a mint left on the steering column. :-)Seems like a great place to me. If I were local, Id certainly think about making them my shop of choice.

They have repaired my vehicle twice in the last year and have gotten me in right away, which is important for me as a single teacher. They did breaks and rotors in a single afternoon without me having to navigate car/rides to work the next day. Thanks so much!

While they do charge dealership hourly costs which is a little higher than I would prefer, they are willing to work with you on pretty much everything. One thing to note is if you order parts from them they guarantee certain parts for a period of time which adds to your overall costs. Both the front desk folks recently have been very supportive, logical, and reasonable.

Very detailed inspections on every visit. Evan and Mars let me know what needs to be fixed now, and what can wait.

Staff is friendly, knowledgeable and attentive - and sensitive to our finances. Our vehicles are older so we often have decisions to make regarding now vs later repairs. We always have a tune-up before heading out-of-town and Ricks helps us be more confident on the road.

My name is on the bill, Mars! I talked to Evan. Way to deny me. Pre-approved is a scam tactic when your tech said my vehicle was unsafe to drive. Highly dissatisfied. Charged me close to $1200 for front calipers and brakes. Told me I needed a handful more repairs need to be done for about the same price (brake line, back calipers/brakes, tie rods, and ball bearings all needed to be replaced).Went to a different mechanic (who did the exact same repairs on the back, for $300), and was told they severly overcharged me (by about $800), and lied about all the other things that needed to be repaired. Also charged labor for putting brakes on calipers, when they are sold as one piece, are you kidding me? Very predatory, probably due to their location (people in the area have lots of money). Thanks for taking advantage of me, now Im in a financial fiasco and out around $800. Would NOT recommend to anyone, unless you enjoy paying four times what something actually costs. Scam artists, and I demand a refund, or I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

Ricks has been fantastic. They are clear when they communicate what work needs to be done and what can wait. They are not pushy about services or repairs and are clearly knowledgeable about what they do.

This place really made me feel bad. They abused my kind nature, charged me for something they broke, and told me they would send me an email of part needing to be replaced but never did. They would not discuss the actual prices of the parts, and failed to see that part was under warranty that they had replaced some time prior.I have never made a review of anything before. Just want to make you reconsider going here. May have been the worst car experience I have ever had (14th vehicle).Bad times. Long wait. Lots of my money wasted. Could I have left zero stars, I would.

Been going there for oil changes with the punch card plan. They check the car out and alert you to issues. No pressure to do service! But, when it is needed, like a recent transmission fluid change on my car, they do an efficient job with text message updates. Loaner cars are a life saver!

I went Ricks last winter to get a window regulator fixed. I thought the price they quoted me seemed high but I had to get my window fixed because it was the middle of winter and my window would not role up. They next day I called a few other auto body shops seeing what they would charge and Ricks 36 over charged me $200! I went there the following day to tell them I wanted some of my $$ back after doing some investigating and they would only give me $100 back.. They said they charged me for the wrong part? Atleast it was better than nothing.. Within a year later, my window regulator went out again. I called them to see if there was any warranty and they said to stop in so they could look at it. I brought it back in and they said the part they put in was faulty but was 1 WEEK past the warranty. They said my mileage was over the warranty as well? Im sorry but what does mileage have to do with a faulty part they put in my car??? They said they would cover the part but still wanted me to pay $240 for labor... It only takes 1 hour to fix it and they wanted to charge me 2 hours? After talking with the gentleman telling him about the bad experience I had in the past with them, he wouldnt even look me in the eye or give me a better price to fix it. They over charge customers and dont stand behind theyre product. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THEM AGAIN!!!

Fair and Honest. Didnt try to sell me anything I didnt need. I asked them questions about things my last mechanic said needed to be fixed and they told me they did not. Good people, great service.

I have had only oil changes done here and my last visit was my very last one. I got home and the oil was leaking. I took it back 4 times, yes, 4 times and then they drilled a hole in my oil pan and caused a big problem. Then they told me I needed a new gasket cover, then switched to tell me I needed a new oil pan. What a nightmare. While they renovated their office, they were completely giving me the run around. It ended up needing an oil pan which I took to a very trustworthy place. So much for drilling holes in oil pans. I will never go back to Ricks 36.
