Mitchell Piano Works has been a part of my life for as long as long as I can remember! As a child I fondly recall walking into the dazzling showroom full of beautiful pianos and being delighted when I was encouraged to play the pieces I was polishing. As I grew older, the staff would even suggest repertoire I might enjoy learning. These little moments motivated me to practice harder and love the piano even more.Over the years my family has utilized the knowledge of the extremely friendly owners and staff to help us find the music we needed for our lesson and to eventually select a piano that is still cherished and loved to this day. The kindness and dedication of everyone at Mitchells is abundant, and is what makes Mitchell Piano Works a gem of a music store unlike any other - an unparalleled resource for students, teachers, families, and the surrounding communities of Stevens Point.
Amazing store, sad to see them retired. The Heid Music that replaced it is also very helpful.
We started our search to purchase a piano at Mitchell and new immediately that we didnt have to go anywhere else. We were nervous about making such a large investment knowing very little about what makes a quality piano worth the money. All the staff where wonderful and patient in answering all our questions (even the silly ones!) And made to whole process from purchase to delivery and set up very easy and even fun. Our piano came with a disklavier player piano system that has had some glitches, but Beth had even given us her private number and has taken several calls after hours to help us through the technological difficulties with the system. A great experience all around and will happily and enthusiastically recommend them to any and all!!!
Oh my gosh what would I do without Mitchell Piano works? They are so professional and knowlegable about pianos, keyboards, and instruments in general. Music is not just a business, but a mission. I know I can always trust them to find pianos for my students. When it comes to finding music I know if it is available they will find it. And!!! it will be with a smile. For over 25 years I have always been treated with the utmost respect and curtesy when dealing with Mitchell Piano Works!!
Kid is no longer doing piano lessons here. Owner is rude, called about donations on a community benefit to help prevent suicide awareness.. Instantly got defensive, told me they do their donating privately and its not really my business. Its hard when you try to reach out to your community and they shrug you off like you dont matter. I understand they maybe get calls a lot on this stuff, but this one was very tough to take in. Why support a business that cant support its locals in trying to make a difference in this cruel world and support the great cause. its a shame.
It was a great place. Sadly, its closed now.
