Absolutely terrible customer service. They kept saying that we had an outstanding balance of over $300 from 2012-2014. The thing is we didn’t even have Rose Broadband back in 2012-2014! We were trying to start a new account with them. We were calling because we reschedule an appointment with them, and they came out before the rescheduled date so we wanted to see why the would come on the wrong date. Julie was terrible to work with, and absolutely refused to listen to us. Then all of a sudden we have a bill with them? We tried to explain to her that she must have us confused with someone else cause we did change phone numbers, but she didn’t want to listen. Kept saying “well you should’ve paid your bill”. You mean a bill that isn’t even ours?!? We’ll definitely be taking our business elsewhere, and it looks like we’re not the only ones having issues with them.Save yourself time and the headache, and go somewhere else. These people have zero customer service skills, and I’m surprised they’re still in business.
Absolute joke of company. Should be looked into for fraud. Fastest internet speeds. Ha ha ha AOL dial up was faster. Pay for 20 mps I get .2-.5 if I am lucky. Been hearing an issue in my area for over 2 weeks and nothing. This place scams money out of you. DO NOT USE!
I cancelled and went to a competitor about a year ago. I have found superior customer service, cost and services from the competitor over Rise Broadband. After canceling about a year ago I have a Rise Broadband van stop at my house today trying to collect the equipment. I was told at the time of cancelation not to return the equipment and a year later someone randomly shows up before 9am asking me a bunch of questions what I did with it. I called in to customer service and listened to their COVID message about new ways of doing business while some gu bjust randomly walked up knocking on my door. The first rep I told the scenario to hung up on my and sent me right to the 3 question survey. This company was horrible to deal with as a customer for 5 years and it seems they have not changed. There are better internet options out there, trust me!
Seriously you guys must have insanely high expectations. This is not a fiber optics line. And when you have to call customer service they are always kind and do what they can, which typically isnt much.Small time gamer here - my husband and I moved out to the country about 5 years ago. We initially signed on with this one local company and the internet was so bad we stopped gaming altogether. We would get put in a match and be booted in 2 minutes.About 2 years ago we switched to Rise and it is so much better. We can both game on separate consoles, while our daughter streams movies and the connection is seamless. If by chance you are deciding between Rise and Maxwire, dont make the same mistake we made.Customer service has long hours, and them being in mountain time gives us until 11pm to call in. Huge plus and often the signal just needs a quick refresh on their end.One down side is that it is not nearly as reliable as our old fiber op line. It does go down quite a bit, during storms or just because. But they typically have it back up same day.Dont trust the reviews man those people idk must think theyre getting a cable or something. Set your expectations right and living in a rural area will make up for the downtime 😊FYI in the attached, that is the longest I have ever been on hold with them. They were experiencing many outages across Southern Illinois due to weather.

Fantastic service. After leaving huge net witch did nothing but throttle speeds for 2 years. Ended the contract and now I actually have internet. I have no idea what I was paying for. For an extra 10$ a month they give you unlimited use so not slowing down.
Barley get 25mbs per second and thats was after i had to spend 50$ on an Ethernet cable without i got not even 1mb per second over priced and using bait and swap ad techniques to make cash to fill there insensible greed over all do not buy from them if you do you may as well be throwing your money into an open flame
Rise is inexpensive and were very pleased with the quality. We have had internet through them for several months and have never had any major issues or even slight ones really.
The worst internet service ever. When they were T6 much better. There customer service is TERRIBLE cant get any other internet except rise where I live. The speed is terrible cant stream anything and at least twice a week my service drops. If this is only service you can get go without.
As my 2 year contact ends 8/2 and it is now 7/19. I received an email saying I have earned an upgrade. (only valid till 7/31) The upgrade sounded okay until I clicked on upgrade. I then received a confirmation that included A early termination fee. Plus and increase in equipment rental and recovery fees. Watch these people they are disingenuous. Additionally the email service provided is horrible. I was told it was free. It certainly is worth less than you pay for.

We have been a customer for 5 years. The service was okay until the last year. I am in Sterling, IL. The past few months I average .5 MBPS speeds. I pay for 20 MBPS. They advises me the towers are congested and they are waiting on parts for the last 3 months. I have received and $18 credit because of this on my $60 bill. Unacceptable.
If I could give them zero stars I would. I left Comcast because they got expensive and were difficult to deal with regarding offshore call centers. Being very limited on choices, I gave Rise a try. They installed the equipment on Monday and it quit working Monday night. I got it working on Tuesday night and it quit again by Wednesday morning. After that, it did not work again and I had the equipment removed and cancelled my service. I spent hours on the phone on hold and with tech support. I was given every excuse in the book with no resolution. They could not get a tech out to my location for over a week yet they were here to pick up the equipment in a couple days. To top it off, they tried to charge me an early termination fee when cancelling a service that never worked. Never, ever give this company a try. I had to go back to Comcast and unfortunately, go with the company that sucked less. I am not sure anyone is capable of delivering good customer service and a quality product these days. Very frustrating.
Do not do business with this company! The company name changes every other year because it is so bad. Had to switch because service was bad. they then hijacked our business email. Tech support would do nothing and told us to talk with sales. I wish I would have read the other reviews.
Absolutely horrible, NEVER EVER use them it is the WORST experience there could ever could be. 0/10. Our download speed is currently at .40 Mbps. It’s supposed to be at 10 - 15 Mbps.
Absolutely terrible service. Started off great. That lasted 2 weeks. Then very intermittent service. They actually sent a tech out and he fixed an issue with the tower. A couple months later the same issue again. Except now that we are past our 30 day grace period, they refuse to send a tech unless we pay $75 for the trouble call. We have called 6 times in the last month. Tried new routers, had the issue escalated multiple times to tier 2. Spoken to managers. No call backs and still getting speed under a Mbps and paying for 20. Totally unprofessional. Avoid this service at any cost. We will end up eating the disconnect fee and going back to our old provider.
These people are rude as hell!! Don’t call them up and ask any questions about their towers or where they are located they don’t like those questions and start talking to you with an attitude.
If only ZERO were an option they would get it! Myself and neighbors who have Rise Internet have had terrible service for over 2 yrs due to old equipment. We have all been told it would be updated for this long and it still is not and our service is the worst it has ever been. Unfortunately we have no other choice for service currently, but as soon as we do I will switch service providers. I am writing this review using my hotspot on mobile phone. Why?... No wireless internet connection! Customer service is terrible and they lie to customers as other have said. If you have any connection what so ever that justifies to them the monthly cost. I am paying for upload speed of 10 and over the past 2 weeks or more have had no connection or terribly low speeds that wont even load a browser. I have called 3 times with no help. It is illegal what they are doing to customers... Paying for service they are not providing!
Service sucks! Was told that I could disconnect on the 10th of this month and they told me I could but there charging me for another month. They have the slowest speed ever. Do not get there service you will be sorry.
After being a 10 year customer we are dumping them as of 2maro. When it was locally owned it was amazing. Now the support team sucks and we just cant have unhelpful support teams as a business I need internet.

I have been with them for 5 years and recently canceled due to there no unlimited plan however they automatically renew and put you in a new 2 year contract without asking or telling you so when I cancelled I got charged 250 early termination fee. What a joke would never recommend them to anyone.

Horrible. I was told by a tech to request a taller pole be put on my house. Was just told Rise doesnt do that anymore. I have to do it myself. The rep I spoke to in TECH SUPPORT had ZERO answers to my questions. And was super rude!! I am now waiting 24-48 hours for a supervisor to call me back. Yeah right. This company is a joke at best, youd think that theyd up their game and go above and beyond to keep people happy. Not like theyre the only company for some people to use. In my neighborhood, there isnt much option, and I can definitely tell they dont give a damn about their customers.
Rise Broadband: putting people in illegal contracts since at least 2018. Do yourself a favor and avoid this company like the plague. Couldnt say enough horrible things about the company and those who I have spoken to through it.

Rise broadband has consistently shorted us of the speeds promised on our plan (which we have had for about 5 years now).Terrible service has been going on for more than one month now with around 20KBps download speed on a 10 Mbps plan. Unacceptable service for a company that takes pride in its “quality.” customer support promises to fix our issues (and everyone else in our area) but has yet to do anything at all. The company’s performance is laughable; choose a different provider if you can.
Very unhappy with my service. Been calling for weeks for case # 3045473 and was told by Cody today that there is nothing they can do and we are at “mercy” of engineering. He refused a field service visit and refused me speaking to management about being down over 3 weeks now. Have been unable to work from home due to ongoing repair issue. Unsympathetic and rude and unwilling to escalate my request. Unacceptable service.
Our family pays alot of money for inconsistent connections and terrible speeds. Personally wish I could rate a zero. Technician couldnt even troubleshoot the problem because their own system wasnt working to check the tower in my area.

After many attempts to fix our slow service without success, we decided to cancel. They claim because we are under contract we will have to pay an early disconnect fee. They didnt provide the service they promised but we have to pay a fee. Something isnt right!
Have been having trouble with my internet service. Its been 6 weeks. They just keep saying they have their best team working on it. No one ever gets back to. You hold for 40 minutes to talk to customer service. They treat you like your a problem because you want your internet to work. If I could give them a zero star, I would.

Horrible horrible service and horrible customer service. Internet was out constantly, when it worked was super slow. Canceled service at the beginning of June, took literally 60 plus phone calls to get them to fix a problem on their end and until the end of august to get a check for the credit they owed me.
We have been long time customers and have had many issues with reliability. The last straw came when we didnt have service for weeks, and called for repairs. The technician (who was great) came out and did what he could to get us going but needed to come back again to finish. No big deal. Come the date of service, I waited for their arrival all afternoon and no one showed. Over a week later I called in with another internet outage on 6/23 only to be told that there was no way they could send someone out until 7/10. Moral of the story, while the technicians are great, this companies customer service and willingness to back up what I am paying nearly $70 per month for, is currently a 0 on a scale of 0-10 in my book. Dont do business with them.
Internet always slows down. Pay almost $100 a month for .12 MBps speed. Customer service left us without internet because he forgot to change a setting after helping us. This help consisted of telling us our service was slow because they have taken on too many customers...
They are constantly down or slow. Ive had to increase my bandwidth twice now just to get any thruput. Now the service is down AGAIN and the soonest someone can come out is 4 days. Thats 14% of my service for this month. They are about service, either giving or oroviding, in any way.
This company is a ridiculous excuse for a reputable company. My parents were without internet for a month with multiple calls into the company and received no help, then when they wanted to cancel, Rise Broadband said “ok, we will be sending you a final bill”. A final bill for what?? A service that was not available to them? VERY bad business practices. I’m going to tell everyone I know to stay away.
Avoid like the plague. They sold us a package that doesnt even work in our area, they changed our package to something smaller, but failed to tell us that locks us into another 2 year contract. The internet is inconsistent, you will NOT get anywhere close to the speeds they tell you you might get (they say up to), and they will not credit your account if the service is down. We havent had internet for a WEEK. When you call to report the outage, they tell you they know it is out, but when you ask for a credit on the service they failed to provide, they push the blame back on you stating you didnt notify customer service of the outage. If you want go stream Netflix at 6pm during the week, dont bother. This place is shady.
Donwload speeds of 2Mb/s or less and thats if it even works for $65 a month and a 150gb data cap.This is genuinely the worst internet provider Ive ever used. Most other providers would charge you $65 for 250gb or NO DATA CAP and others would charge $10 for an extra 50gb after your data cap this company charges you $18 or $3.50 per 10 gb. And to make the data cap even more ridiculous they slow your internet down after you go over your data cap even though they are charging you for more data. From about 11am to 4pm you will be lucky to even use the internet. They say its because at peak times service is slowed. If you have to slow your internet for half the day so much that its basically non existent why are you even in business? This company is an absolute joke nobody should ever get this not even as a last resort its not worth it whatsoever. They are corporate theives and nothing more.

Were do i begin with Rise Broadband.. so many times with dropped signals, and slow speeds..i cant even keep track anymore on how many times Ive had to contact customer service, or have a technician visit... and everytime Ive called.. excuse .. excuse.. excuse.. its your router.. nope brand new...oh everything looks fine on our end..hmm strange new router ... Im on the 15mps plan.. Im pulling under 5!.. they put you in thier system and give a case number.. yet dont call you to inform you whats going on. I cant recall how many times we went hrs with service slow, or out. I can go on and on... avoid them with all cost they have crappy service, and are worthless trying to help you they get so many complaints they disabled anyone from leaving comments on thier Facebook page...If i could Id leave a -0 star.

If I could give this place zero stars I would!!!! This place is HORRIBLE!!! I signed up with them for their 15 Mbps download speed with 350 GB a month plan to stream our TV. I cant even watch TV. Havent been able to for over a week. Download speeds at 4.5 Mbps!!!! Really??!!!! That is a far cry from 15 Mbps!!! So I call them on November 22nd. They supposedly escalate my case because I have been dealing with this problem for a few months as they can see by the notes when Ive called previously. They assure me that someone will call me within 24 hours (which would have been Thanksgiving) they claim that with the holiday it will most likely be Friday. Ok fine. Here we are the following freaking Tuesday night and once again Im on hold for over 20 minutes waiting to talk to someone!!! Their phone greeting says, We are experiencing higher than normal call volumes and I think to myself...Gee...imagine that....ya think it could be because your service SUCKS????!!!!!!! So pi***d off right now!!!! They arent getting another dime from me until my services are fixed!!! Now they just informed me that they are still investigating the problem and will notify me of any updates. No offer of refunding any of my bill or anything. And if I cancel (Im one year through my contract) they will charge me $250!! This is how this company makes their money by robbing and stealing from their customers!!!!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!

If I could give zero I would their site says they have residential and business in my area but when you call they say something about their towers and says we dont have service in your area even though my neighbor that is about 30ft from my house has it so they lie and have no idea how to run a company.

Ride Broadband is one of the worst Internet companies I have used, the speeds are terrible and its dont more then its up. On September 22nd its gone dont 5 times just in a 3 hour spand of time.
