Our son had a check engine light come on his 2007 Ford Focus and his AC wasnt working properly. I looked for shops in the Stephenville area as we live out of state and the reviews for this shop were very good and honesty seemed to be a theme in the recent reviews. The gentlemen at the shop treated my son more than fair and were able to get him back on the road with minimum cost. Thank you for fixing his car and giving him a much needed break on the repairs as he is only working part time and has limited income.
My daughter just moved to Stephenville two weeks ago to attend Tarleton. Her truck stalled out while driving and would not start. We were thinking the worst. After reading the reviews, I chose LCs as the place to have her take her truck. They did not disappoint. Not only, did they take her truck right in when she called to have it towed, but they fixed it completely in 2 hours for less than $100. Not only did they fix the problem and get her truck running again, but they reprogrammed her tire sensors that hadnt worked right for 8 months since she got new tires. This place is honest and fair to the college student and great place to do business!
Absolutely loved how we were treated! We were low on coolant, and they made sure to thoroughly check on the issue! Will definitely be going back!
Great place .reliable work. Friendly staff.Dependable if you have a problem thats the place to go. If they cant fix it they will direct you to the right place
L.C. and Crew helped me get back on the road within an hour of bringing my Ford Explorer Sport Trac into the shop. Quick work on the diagnostic and had parts here within 30 minutes. Was on the way home from Weatherford to San Antonio when I broke down outside of Stephenville. If you need auto work done quickly and at a great price, stop by and see L.C. and Joe (Mechanic that helped me) to get you running again.
Our car broke down on our drive to El Paso (a while back) and the guys a LCs really looked after us. Not all repairs were able to be done here (we needed something specific) but they put us in contact with another store and towed us over there for free. Really friendly staff and super helpful.
LCs gave me a free diagnosis and consultation. great shop!
Good place to get your car fixed, LC, Joe, and the rest of the guys make you feel welcomed. They know their stuff!
They are very good at theyre job. They actually saw something I had missed that couldve left me stranded.
These guys were Very Professional and did me great service! They even gave me a price break since the previous information I was given from another place was all wrong! Thanks guys and Ill be back...
Checked out my leak. Found it. Turned out to be under warranty somewhere else. No charge for their time. I see some goodies headed their way soon. Thanks guys.
I really like these guys. They always go above and beyond for me. They make a female feel comfortable and take time to answer any questions I may have, no matter how mechanically unknowledgable the question is. Lol. Would totally recommend them.
LC’s was so great to work with. We were driving through when our water pump gave out and they got us right in even though they were closing for the day and gave us a good deal on a new pump. They got us taken care of and back on the road quickly. Thank you so much for all your help!
Lc has helped me a lot and has done a great job on my truck. Highly reccomend him. He gets the job done!
They were amazing! They helped us out when our Suburban broke down. They even stayed late so we could continue our drive back to Utah. Super nice and easy to work with! Definitely go to these guys! Thanks again LCs Automotive.
Took me on very short notice and helped without over charging or cutting corners. Very nice guy and was upfront and honest. Not a corporate business. Very local and good place from my experience.
👍
Great people, fast service, great price!
Repair took twice as long as originally stated. Vehicle was worse off after repair then before. Had to take to another repair shop to get item repaired correctly.
These guys went out of their way to help me get my car fixed, from my first phone call to them to driving my car out of the shop a short time later these guys were all awesome. Thanks guys you have my business from here on out.
L C is a good guy and isnt in the business of ripping off or taking advantage of people. His knowledge of vehicles is great, and the work is done in a timely manner. The shop is average sized and the staff smaller, but that leads to more focused attention to the vehicles he has in shop. I would recommend LCs to anyone.
Been doing business with LC for 5 years now very goodprice for quality work.
Everytime he has fixed my sons car it was done right and a fair price...I would rate him a 10!!!!
Thanks LC for taking such good care of my daughter’s Nissan Frontier. Fast service and a fair price. Very comforting for a father who lives almost 9 hours from where his daughter attends school. Dan Martin
Our daughter is a college student and we are from Colorado. We towed her car ( a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee) down at the beginning of the school year 2018-2019 with the thought that it probably wouldnt make the 800 plus mile trip. When we got in to town LCs was recommended. I called them up, explained our situation and what we thought needed to be done. Explaining what work we had already done, new timing chain and gears, water pump, alternator, oil pan seal and a few other minor things. We were able to drop it off that same day.LC and his team looked over the Jeep and told us what needed to be done, fix the a/c, power steering pump, steering gear box and we asked about a possible bad ground that was draining the battery. He called us the next day with a quote. We agreed. His mechanic found the short causing the battery to drain and didnt charge us for that fix. We got the Jeep back the next day. Great work..A few months later we bought our daughter new tires. Told her to get them mounted and take it in for an alignment. (LC doesnt do alignments) The alignment place said they wouldnt do the the alignment because the steering gear box was bad or to loose. We called LCs. He told us to bring it in. The steering gear box was from a bad batch and he and his team installed a new one, no charge. Then a few more months later my daughter started to get death wobbles. I knew it was her front sway bar, but was hoping it could wait til we got it back to Colorado. I called LC. Had it in, new sway bar and bushings done.Just drove her Jeep back to Colorado with NO issues. For a car that is almost 25 years old and my daughter 800 plus miles away. I highly recommend LC and his team. Any time I have called they remember us or at least the Jeep and what has been done. Great customer service and an honest ma and pop mechanic.Oh...one more thing...I guess as a surprise...one of his team found a bad relay in the cruise control. ( it never worked since we bought the car). Just to see, I tried the cruise on the drive back to Colorado and it worked! Another Easter egg that was never mentioned or billed!Thank you LC and your Team
So far so good never had an issue. Always helps me out and takes care of me. I still go there to this day and nothing that he has fixed has broke again. All my cars are over 10years old and 200K + miles and he keeps them going.
Great price and fast quality work. Very good sense of humor as well. Aost makes getting your car worked on stress free.
Great shop! Lc is awesome. Both of my kids attend Tarleton and I send them there with their car troubles, highly recommend for the students. Very reasonable and honest work.
LC and his mechanics are good and honest and fair. The service is amazing. Good auto work is hard to find and I thinks LCs Automotive is the best in Stephenville.
Honest and efficient
Every time Ive been in here Ive had nothing but amazing service. LC and all his employees are so sweet and are more than willing to work with you and your budget. My senile truck will almost always come here for oil changes, sensor replacements, and anything else it needs while Im in stephenville.
I would rate lower than one star if I could. I took my vichle in for an engine swap. He quoted me a fair price and a 3 week time window he proceeded to tell me it would cost more and take longer. He finally finished just over 3 months later and I only got 500 miles out of the engine and it threw a rod. He refused to work on or even look at it saying it was my fault. I will never go back here or even suggest this place to my worst enemy.
Nightmare experience. paid for a new clutch to be installed in my truck and LC did not put a new one. Instead, LC adjusted clutch cable and sent me hone with my old clutch. Clutch lasted about 2 days. After much debate the clutch I paid for to be installed was installed and truck worked fine. I’m posting this 5 years later because after I left a bad review the first time for LC Automotive I was harassed by his wife.
These guys are blithering idiots. They worked on the steering box of my truck. One month later the steering was getting worse. Three bolts go through the frame rail into the steering box. One bolt was missing entirely. The other two were lose and about to fall out. This buggered up the threads on the two remaining bolts and in the threaded portions of the steering box. These guys are clowns.
Great people. Great workmanship
Totally guessing this mallory person is someone who works there? Bwahaha. I bet after I post this someone else will write an awesome review! I went there and they were giving me a rough estimate of $400. I called my old mechanic the next day and they said well 1. that might not even be the thing wrong with it and 2. that should literally only cost $160. So they told me basically the part $70 they are charging you over $300 for labor. I have been screwed over by mechanics before so I said... well can my car it make to your shop (2 hours away?) They said yes so I rather drive to a mechanic I trust, then stay close to one who over charges and would possibly not do the job right. Also unprofessional in there.
Reasonabley priced great work, they were all very polite, courteous and efficient.
He does not do thorough work. I dont know if he is just incompetent, or dishonest, but it doesnt matter. The results are the same: you spend a whole lot of money on repairs that dont fix the problem. In our case, it resulted in damage to the engine which cost several more hundreds of dollars to fix elsewhere. He seems friendly when you first speak to him, trying to determine if you want to do business with him. That is just a facade. When confronted (respectfully) about obvious oversights on his part, he bristles, becomes defensive and tries to put the blame on you, the customer. You, the one who PAID HIM YOUR MONEY to do the work properly. This man does not deserve anyones business.
Based on my experience and gathered information from other customers L C’s Automotive is a slow paced workshop. Be prepared to wait 3-5 days for them to begin to diagnose your vehicle...
Friendly. Knowledgeable mechanics! Best prices in town.
THIS IS THE ABSOLUTE WROST PLACE!!!! 1st & foremost come to find out from two of his former employees on separate occasions. LC is NOT a mechanic & doesnt hardly know too much about cars, just enough to get by. He only has one Mechanic who works in his garage, and from what was explained to me by his former employees (who are still friends with him just cant do business) is not a very good mechanic either.LC did a job for me at which he quoted me a reasonable price, however like most mechanics once he started the job he found new problems which had to be fixed which he bought the parts and put it on without my consent and just charged it to my bill. After the job was done I go to pick my car up for him to tell me that once he put the parts back together and started the car he found I was now not getting any oil pressure, which I NEVER had a problem with before. I ask how much I will be to fix that and he tells me $100 for the part and roughly $450 for the labor but since im a college student he will cut me some slack and only charge close to $400. But the problem is in the same area he just fixed where the labor was only $150. He could have and Should have noticed this problem while he was right there in that area. I spoke to different mechanics and asked how much they would charge for that repair with out telling them the price LC quoted me and they all replied $150-$225 and said that there is no way a real mechanic wouldnt have noticed the broken item when they were just right there looking at it.When I finally go to pay after the quoted price of $150 jumps to $265 after the extra part was bought his wife who works the register tried to charge me $395! After I started to lose my cool LC told her to just do $265. I had the 2nd problem fixed at a different shop with one of LCs old workers and he informed me that the extra part LC charged me for has NOT been replaced!!!! So Why was I charged. Overall LC is the WORST place to go, as I talk to other former customers of LC as soon as I mention his name they all become angry and start telling me of the rip off jobs he and his wife has done to them. DO NOT GO TO LCS I HIGHLY recommend you do your own repairs yourself before going to LC. Even if you dont know anything about cars.
Worked on our farm truck and did the work in a day and fixed the problem the first time for a great price
Please just please dont go there
The only place in town I will ever go.
Hardworking good mechanics
Great service
Take my van to repair and they have a month and they still havent finished it
