Doran’s is the place to go when you want someone working on your car in a timely and efficient manner. I brought my car in and they communicated that day when they could get the part in and then ended up getting it in early and finishing it earlier than expected! Terry at Doran’s is the best! He communicates with you right when he has information. Friendly, fast, and great auto shop! I would recommend them to anyone!

We had car issues on July 9th (late afternoon/evening on Friday ) - (yes, a bit late with this review) while heading for a wedding that weekend. As a single mom traveling with my 10 yr old son and having major car issues 20 hours from home, I couldn’t be more thankful for the care and concern given to me and services provided!! If Steamboat were my hometown this would definitely be my go to shop!! It was a great experience in a tough situation.

The guys at Doran always come through when no other shop in Steamboat does. Every time I’ve brought them work they’ve finished quickly and communicated great. Terry is always my first call when I need something done.

I broke down on my way through Steamboat. I called Doran for a tow around 3:30pm, and they had me back on the road with a new alternator by 5. They didn’t charge me an arm and a leg despite my immediate need, and even let my dog hang out in the air conditioned office while the work was being done. Top notch, highly recommend.

While in Steamboat on vacation, our car started shaking...come to find out, we needed brakes. I made one phone call and spoke with Terry. He said bring it in and he would take a look at it. He told me he would get me a quote by noon and did just that. Not only was he timely with the quote but it was a fair quote and did not try to take advantage of a vacationer. I would take my vehicles back to him without any reservations and trust him and his crew to fix my car at a fair price. Doran did the job and is a great place in my opinion...even their dog liked me...well, a little.

Needed a problem fixed quickly. Terry and the team did a great job of making repairs and getting us on the road. Diagnosed the problem. Called immediately with an estimate. Ordered the part and had it fixed within 2 hrs of receipt of the part. Good people. Well run. Good reputation. Would definitely recommend.

This is the first time I brought a vehicle to Doran Auto repair. We requested an oil change and full inspection. Dropped the car off at 8 and received a call that it was ready to pickup before noon. They only found a small steering reservoir leak and related what the cost would be to repair. Rest of inspection was good and they didnt need to replace plugs, filters, etc. I really appreciated the honesty and that they did not upsell and replace items that were still in good shape. Honesty and a fair price with prompt service goes a long way. I will be happy to use them again.

10/5 stars. This shop hit all the checkmarks, polite, quick, quality, and not to mention bailed me out bigtime on my road trip. The tow was quick, the driver polite and even helped direct us to a lovely local inn. Give them your buisness.

Awesome experience every time I need my vehicle serviced.

We were far from home and they helped us out in a pinch. We broke down on highway 40 near Craig late on a Friday and no one in Craig would have anything to do with helping us out on a Saturday so we could continue our trip without being stuck waiting for Monday to roll around. I called this place and talked to Kenny and he said sure I can help you out tomorrow. We had the vehicle towed here on Friday night and when we arrived on Saturday morning, the hood was already up and the repair was underway. Less then two hours later, a new part was installed and we were on our way. Thanks so much.

Kenny, the owner, was super nice and helpful when I called to inquire about his services. Logan came out to get our rig out of the ditch and up a big hill. He was patient, nice and easy to work with.

This place is a RIP OFF. Not only did I get screwed by the Sherriff department but this place got me too. $2030 and they wouldnt work with me a bit. 2000 wouldnt work I had to drive 2 hrs to barrow the 30 bucks to get it out. What a joke and its all because they know what the truck is worth. If it was a 1000 dollar vehicle they would have worked with me on the bill. Thieves but they are honest thieves but never the less thieves

I dont live in Steamboat so didnt know where to go when I needed shop services 2 different times this past summer. They provided great service on my Jeep. The second time I needed a spring shackle replaced on my boat trailer. They fixed it in less than 30 minutes!! I highly highly recommend!

Very rude and unprofessional, didnt acknowledge us for a few minutes while standing right in front of us at the desk. And then when we got are vehicle stuck in their lot due to ice, they stood there and laughed at us, and then made fun of us as we were leaving, calling us retards. Didnt help push, just laughed

Our motorhome broke down on the mountain east of Steamboat. After hours of searching for a tow, we were saved by Doran Auto Repair & Towing.Kenny and company towed our Class A motor home and us back to town and performed the needed radiator replacement. This is a tricky job in a Class A and they performed the job for a very good price. Its no fun being broke down on the mountain but Kenny can rescue you with fast friendly reasonable towing and repair!

This place is top notch. I was visiting Steamboat and my car broke down. Kenny fixed it by modifying a part since my Infiniti parts would take too long to arrive. Very quick, inexpensive and friendly. Highly recommend.

These guys are amazing we cannot say enough positive words to express our gratitude and absolute satisfaction in the service that we received from these guys. We were stuck out at steamboat lake on a Saturday and they came out and got us within about 45 minutes got us back to the shop and back on the road within another hour. it was an easy fix but not an easy find as far as what was wrong with our truck and they got it. the price was minimal and these guys are our heroes.

Incredibly helpful. Theyre the only shop in town thats open on a Sunday. My trucks fuel pump went out and they towed me in, got it fixed and had me on the road home all in the same day.

I was in town for 10 days on vacation when I had a concern with some front end shaking when braking down the pass. Terry squeezed me in and 15 minutes later told me it was minor rotor warping and I was safe to continue driving. One of the nicest, most honest people Ive ever met in my life. I cant recommend this shop more.

Called Doran when getting into Steamboat on a Saturday because breaks were hot coming down rabbit ears pass. Spoke with Kenny who was able to look at the vehicle right away. He confirmed we had warped rotors but told us we had ample break pad to make it back down to Denver on Monday. Incredibly honest and professional. Could not recommend them enough! They also have an awesome dog to greet you!

These guys were the absolutely sweetest! We rolled into town with smoking brakes and a flat-ish tire. Stopped by just as they were ready to close but they totally helped us feel safe in our van and worked over time on the 4th of July just to help us. I highly recommend them.

The owner, Kenny, may as well be my magician and he is the nicest man I have ever met in the mechanic industry - who has ever worked on one of my vehicles, with this current one being the most challenging. (I’ve previously owned over ten cars and SUVs, but never met a mechanic like Kenny!) It had to be towed several times and he picked it up for me for free. I had previously brought it to another mechanic that was supposedly highly recommended, but could not solve the mysterious simple problem on an old truck, yet he could charge me for parts and labor I didn’t need.I have no doubt in my mind that Kenny could ever overcharge anyone and his customer service is ridiculous! He let me contact him via his personal cell phone and was able to get my vehicle back in working order, and it is still running!!! (It should be dead by now.) I cannot stress what a pleasure he is to work with and you don’t need to stress about anything if your vehicle is in his well-skilled hands. Even his tow truck driver was so nice, plus his shop has the most reasonable price in town to tow your car.Best experience ever! I recommend him to everyone I know and you should too! After skiing in Steamboat today, I found that I had run over sharp piece of chain link from snow chains and my tire was slowly leaking. Running out of options for repair shops with most places in town closing and other locations telling me they didnt have replacement tires or the hole was too big to patch, I went to Doran Auto. No questions asked they patched my tire and got me back on the road saving me from being stranded for the night. I highly recommend this family owned business for their friendly attitude, great price, timely service, and a willingness to help!

On the day of our arrival in Steamboat Springs, the check engine light came on in our vehicle. In fear of driving it without having an expert opinion, we began calling around to find a shop that could take a look. After numerous calls to other places that didnt take the time to speak with me, I found Doran Auto Repair. They instructed us to come in and they would make sure our vehicle was looked at same day. When we arrived, they immediately began the diagnostic process on our vehicle. As we awaited the news, we were explaining that we were unable to find a rental car and were unfamiliar with the area and wondered if they had any recommendations. They even offered to arrange a rental car for us if it was necessary...what incredible customer service. The rental car was unnecessary, they quickly diagnosed the problem, and had us back on the road within a half an hour of our arrival. They are extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and honest. It is difficult to find a great automotive repair shop and when you do, you want to tell everyone! This place is AWESOME and I would highly recommend them. Thanks for saving our vacation.

While traveling through Colorado, our vehicle broke down on a Friday late in the afternoon. We were very fortunate to have Kenneth from Dorans dispatched to tow our vehicle. While on the phone making our call for towing, Wyntir was reassuring and professional. We had no idea where we were and she worked through landmarks in order to get Kenneth to our rescue. Kenneth made many calls trying to find the part for our older car. We been traveling for several weeks and had a ton of stuff in our vehicle. He was able to locate the part (in another state), have it shipped overnight and he installed it the next day. They were gracious enough to let us use their computer to secure a rental car and arrange for local lodging and even drove my husband to the car rental lot. While he was not sure exactly what day the part would be in, we planned to be stuck in Steamboat Springs (not a bad place to be stranded!!!), until Tuesday. When he called us the next day (on a Saturday), to say the job was complete, boy were we so pleasantly surprised! We were able to continue on our 5 week journey almost without interruption. We appreciate all they did for us, almost making us feel like family. What a great team and we will forever feel fortunate that our roadside assistance led us to them! They were truly our guardian angels that made a bad situation seem almost good!! Thank you so much!

The owner, Kenny came to tow us to the shop, he worked through the weekend to diagnose and fix our car. When the repairs would have totaled more than the car was worth we decided to leave it. I had a coolant hose break late Friday night, and I was supposed to be heading back to Omaha on Saturday morning. Kenny fit me right in first thing on Saturday morning... he fixed the coolant hose at a reasonable price and had my car repaired in 90 minutes. Extremely impressed, very customer service oriented. If I could give 10 stars I would. You the man Kenny!

I would not recommend this mechanic. I chose to go to this mechanic based on the fabulous reviews I saw online. Either the reviews are outdated or they are very good at editing and maintaining their online business reputation. Since having such a bad experience, I have asked around town and come to find out that they dont have that good of a reputation.I brought my car in for an oil change and to check the error codes from a check engine light. I told them my car was leaking oil and was likely the reason for the check engine light and the oil change would hopefully fix the issue. I explicitly asked them to contact me before continuing with any other services or repairs. I also asked them to take a look at a rattling that was coming from the driver side front wheel well. I got a phone call a couple hours later that they had diagnosed the issue as the air filter needing replacing and had gone ahead and replaced the air filter without contacting me and charged me $150 for that service! When I have personally changed the air filter myself with a $20 part bought from Napa auto parts. I let it go and figured it was one less thing to worry about doing. However, I asked about the rattling and the front desk guy didnt see any notes so he asked the mechanic. I was standing by the door when the mechanic replied no I didnt check it, she can bring it back and we can charge her a ton more money to fix it.It wasnt until the day after the service that the check engine light came back on. I was tired of paying mechanics $50-$100 to read the error codes to I ordered an error code reader from amazon. The error message said that there was a problem with the crankcase pressure sensor circuit. I decided to bring it to a ford dealership as the issue may be covered under manufacturer warranty. Turns out the only thing wrong with my car is that the mechanic installed the air filter incorrectly!!!! If someone could explain to me how a licensed mechanic can install an air filter incorrectly when I a 23 year old woman with no mechanical training can change it myself in 10 minutes for $20!!!! Maybe I should open up shop myself and charge $300 to install air filters correctly!

I had been messing around for two weeks trying to get somebody to diagnose a problem with my truck. Had two different shops in town look at it and couldnt get it figured out. After hassling for days trying to get somebody to take the time to look at it a friend recommended Doran. Ken had it figured out and fixed in a couple hours -- most of which was waiting for parts delivery. Great guys to work with and great service. Ill definitely be back next time I need auto work done.

Very helpful. Available by phone 7 days a week and over holiday weekend. Towed our disabled Ford F150 to his shop in Steamboat Springs and had fuel pump replaced and ready to go by noon the next day. Highly recommend for day to day maintenance and emergency services.

This auto repair shop is everything youd want it to be. The shop is so clean it could double as a hospital operating room. Sean, the owner, is honest, fair, respectful, knowledgeable and a gentleman. He got me in and out within 24 hours. I, too, am from another state, and it was a true relief to find this repair shop. On a star scale of one to five, I give it a SIX!

We busted our oil pan plug checking out the nohku hut after hiking to lake agnes. A quick fix wouldnt help us get back to granby so we got a ride to a phone and called matt who came to give us a tow even tho he was spending the day fly fishing. He was really kind and gave us tons of tips and tricks on fishing areas around our town. Really nice guy

While driving over Rabbit Ears pass into Steamboat Springs, my front brakes started vibrating very bad. Being from out of town, I figured I would have a bad experience trying to find someone to fix them. I read the Google reviews on Dorans Auto Repair and decided I would call them. I called Kenny at Dorans, he said to bring it in and he should be able to fix it that day. Sure enough, he called at 3:30 pm and said it was done. I was very impressed. I cant even get my own mechanic back home to turn things around that quick ! Kenny runs a good business and I would recommend him highly to anyone needing work done on their car. Kenny not only found time to squeeze us in during what was clearly a very busy time for the shop allowing us to continue on our trip, he also mapped out a whole new direction for our vacation which helped us avoid the rain and experience a much more beautiful part of Colorado than we had planned to. This shop is FANTASTIC and extremely honest! I’m from out of town and was up in Steamboat for spring break with my family when my car died one evening. I found Doran Auto Repair on Google, gave them a call the next morning. I spoke with Sean and he said he would fit me in to his full schedule. He indicated it could be an alternator but he would check it out. As it turned out, it was just a bad battery. Being from out of town, he could have taken advantage of my situation but he didn’t. In fact, it was just the opposite; the repair was extremely reasonable. I would definitely recommend this shop to anyone.

My wife and I came in to Steamboat at about 3 pm after we severed a brake line elk hunting north of Steamboat. We called four places and 3 of them said they would check it out after Thanksgiving- it was November 9th. Dorans Auto told me to bring it in immediately. They checked it out, ordered the part and told us to bring it in at 8 in the morning so as to not interfere any more with our hunt. They fixed it in no time the next morning and I got my first bull elk the same day. I have had good experiences with quality mechanics, but this stood out.

So, I had some rodent make a nest and eat a wire in the lines up to the MAP sensor. I called and stopped in and Ken made time to rewire it, and clear the code, EVEN THOUGH I drive a buick..lol.. if I have amy more issues, this will be the first place I call. Great customer service.
