The workers inside this place are a failure to children nobody responds to emails phone calls you can call till you turn blue and its disgrace. I spend thousands of dollars being told going through court will be 10 times easier now its nothing but stress because the case worker is a failure and so is the supervisors and the director nobody wants to work nobody wants to answer phones its an absolute disgrace I thought this building was there for help children but its not .. My caseworker sent us other peoples social security numbers and she thinks its nothing she never reported it

Just got back from serving overseas. Got $194 for my pregnant wife and myself. Looks like Im not eating this month. the management is horrible. The title social services is ironic because you have been of no help at all.

Was just a couple weeks late turning in my food stamp recertification because of moving. Having a baby in a couple weeks Went to dss last week and was told I would keep getting them that the case was already closed were good and NOW with going out of work for all the holidays and having no pay I got a call I wont be getting any food stamps until December 19th. Im SO glad they can punch stuff through for people in need since theyve done it before and literally going to leave me hanging through all of this through Holidays with literally no money to even eat. DSS is the worst place to ever have to work with because they obviously dont care.I have called date least every 3 days and left messages with my caseworker and a couple different supervisors and NONE will return my phone calls.

Makes false threats wait till my lawyer gets finished with the case worker. Its one thing to threat but its another thing to threat someone who isnt involved with a case. Have fun because Im going make you wish you would had left. Take you empty threats sone where else

Some employees here are rude and you can tell they are only there for a check. They could care less about the people. But Judith was amazing, you can tell she takes pride in her job. She goes the extra step to get you the help you need. Thank you Judith!

My visit there was fairly quick. I went around 9am. I waited about 30 minutes. Which wasnt too bad at all. My case worker was great! She processed all information in a timely manner. Everything was comfortable. My visit there was good.

The few times I have needed it, these people helped assist me with paperwork and applications great. The case workers I have had, have been EXTREMELY helpful, caring, and professional. Most of the time there is a wait, as expected. Due to that issue I would advise people to make an appointment with your case worker so the wait is way less than if someone was just a walk-in. Overall, these people are some of the nicest people and most helpful people. If the person in need is honest, respectful, and has a good attitude toward the individual helping him/her you will get the same treatment in return. Absolutely wonderful place for the help my family and I have needed in the past!

This people are amazing. They truly want to help. I honestly think people forget that they are only humans too. It todays fast paced world everyone wants something done yesterday. People think they should receive benefits the day they go in and it simply doesnt work that way. Most offices I have been in when I went to apply have signs that say we have 45 days to process your application. They have to verify every piece of information you give them. It is a state thing. The state determines the eligibility levels and the workers hands are tied. I know this because I have gone in and applied, and been denied.I have been able to make any appointed any time I need too, never had an issue with it. I dont freak out if my caseworkers dont call me back within 2 minutes of me calling them.I think it is also important to remember to take every thing people post with a grain of salt. People tend to be more dramatic about things by nature and are more likely to give a review if they are angry.PS: I personally know a girl my age(22) that left a review here only because they found out she lied about having a job and terminated her benefits because she made so much money.

Worthless Cant ever get them to return calls

Supposed to contact your worker to report changes in income, address etc. I have been calling for 5 months, always get her voicemail and always leave a message, and have never heard back. They change your worker without saying a word and you only know when you call and get the front desk and they tell you or if you notice a different name listed on the paperwork they send you every 6 months or so. Who will help or answer your questions if they cant be bothered?UPDATE worker was changed and I only know this because recent paperwork lists a different name.

Turnover rate must be extremely high. On SNAP benefits until I complete school and I have had so many different case workers. Everytime I re certify I have a new caseworker and every time I receive a new case worker my benefits are delayed. It has been over a week now. I have called everyday. Left messages with several people, emailed and asked to speak with supervisors. I have never been able to speak with anyone but an operator and no one calls back! Why can they not at least show courtesy and pick up or call back? Explain the situation so people are not stuck in limbo.Also my husband has not collected child support for his kids which we have custody of for 5 years and his caseworker does nothing about that either. 5 years!

They need a better system for communication. Clients shouldnt have to call and leave messages for months on end for caseworkers and their supervisors only to NEVER hear anything from them. They supposedly have 24 hours now to return calls That hasnt been my experience. I will not be leaving messages anymore. I will call and call and call until I reach someone. My apologies to the front desk ladies. I guess sometimes you have to be the squeaky wheel.

There to help if you need it. They are amazing. It may take time if the line is long, but they try to get you in and out and your issues solved.

This agency is so incompetent and unethical. If they would pull all the CDE cases I’m sure orders have been granted where ordered have been granted and there had been no service on the case. This system is used as a tool for a lot of women to use as a weapon as opposed to for the children. They do not update the court files in a timely manner this whole system needs to be investigated

Wait took forever had to go up twice to remind them I was still sitting there. There was such a long line and the people behind the window we taking there time laughing and whatnot with their coworkers

The front window lady on the far right is really really sweet... Shes been there for a while, and knows what shes doing. Really enjoy speaking with her. Some of the other people in there, even though its their job and this is what they choose to get up and go do every day... Their attitudes could change some a little, most a lot... Most of us that are coming in there to apply for help, this is not the life we chose to get up to every morning. Most of us that go in there really had issues and its not fair to act as if we are coming in there and ruining their day... This is not what weve chosen this is just something that weve had to do... there is no other choice!!!

They have gotten more organized and they dont have massive lines, or at least didnt when I was there. Still ended up waiting 15 minutes to ask a question though.

What did you like about it? Now thats a question if like to answer face to face with someone there. Oh wait they dont answer calls, return calls, or make appointments for those of us who cant wait 3-5 hrs at the dss office.

Caseworker was out for 2 months straight which meant my stuff (I imagine along with others)was put on the back burner instead of being handled by someone who was actually at work (people get sick yes I know but it shouldnt affect others) . cant even get thru to anyone on the phone and voicemail boxes are always full and if not you never get a call in return when you get lucky enough to leave a message. Half the workers either have a horrible attitude like they plain out do not want to be there or dont know answers to half the questions they are asked, or you speak to 3 people who tell you completely different things from what the other said . even the prompt that answers when first calling doesnt work properly you push 0 to speak to someone and it just starts the whole recording over and over and over, never connecting to an actual person. Mooresville is a wealthy area it seems like dss would be way better, just plain sad . I dont understand why anyone would choose a career they do not like or want to be involved with, we all choose what path we take so why would they be there of they are not going to enjoy helping their community or just to make less fortunate people feel badly .

The person that worked with me was nice even social worker it makes a difference.

I have no complaints with DSS. I bring all of the information Ill need during my visit, so I never have issues with waiting for service or for someone to contact me.

Very rude Secretarys.. Also once applying for something they take there time getting it done.. To them its not important.. But I had applied for SNAP and completed and done all my worker said was needed to do.. A month later.. No letter in mail and still no help. Ive tried calling and i get voicemail everytime in which the voicemail says to leave your name number and a brief message as to what you were calling about and they will get back with you within 24 hours. I have called 3 times and have yet to have heard anything from my worker. If I didnt desperately need the help right now then I would just say the hell with it. Its not worth everything Ive had to go through.

I went to go and try to get help in battering myself. Unfortunately they want help me in providing information that I need. Also I went to get my child support started over again.

The wait wasnt bad and the lady who helped me was friendly and knowledgeable.

My ex started drinking and getting into drugs like herion, meth, and cocaine I was in the hospital and had given birth to Lacey May who had trisomy 18 so I was planning on leaving my ex much earlier but I went into labor 7 weeks early and I didn’t want things to get violent for me like times when I tried leaving in the past so I was waiting for a day when he was going to be gone long enough for me to get me and my children and our stuff out of the house we lived in that his dad owns and pays the bills for. But when I went into labor very early and at 5am he refused to drive me to the hospital so I had to get a ride and didn’t have time to switch car seats my water had already broke and I was in a lot of pain so my boys stayed there. I went to get them after my daughter was stable enough that day for me to get my stuff and my children he had changed the locks and make false police reports against me saying I had moved out months ago and was stalking him, nobody told me about these reports no one ever asked me about if I did or my side to it I wasn’t even in mooresville I was in presbatarian hospital in Charlotte but because of that they wouldn’t let me in the house to get my stuff and my children. We had no custody order in place my ex always refused to sign one and I didn’t have money for a lawyer and he always just left them with me anyways I never thought he’s be so low as to keep my children from me (that I raised with out him! He didn’t even see his second some till he was one and one half and that was because I was in the hospital giving birth other than that he stayed out of the house or slept in another room so that he didn’t have to here them get up at night and I had moved out for a whole year but he told me he wanted to fix himself for his boys to have a good dad so I came back which was extreay stupid of me to help him get off the drugs so he could be a good father and keep in mind I was 18 when I met him and he was 40 I’m 25 now he’s 48). But I called dss with my concerns I’d seen him leave the kids in the car at his methadone clinic because I would drive there to see if he was still going or back on drugs and he’s leave the kids in the truck with it running but the doors locks or I would have taken them then, he came out to fast for me to call the police but dss did find out about it when a witness called in and told them he was doing what I said he was. They are so lazy and have so much attitude they need to all be fired and replaced! Child protective services are supposed to protect our children. They told me no that’s not their job it’s mine but I can’t break into his house and take my kids back I did get a lawyer and was talked into signing joint temp custody because I hand t seen my boys in 2 entire months they told me it’s only temporary and I’d get them right after we left the court house (I’d also just lost my daughter the trisomy 18 causes complications with her hearth, breathing, she had only one kidney and it was horse shoe shaped and like most trisomy 18 babies she was extreay small and weak but a fighter till the end 61 wounderful days I got to hold and love and cherish my daughter) and right after her funeral I’m in court trying to get my boys because with no custody any parent mom or dad rather they raised them or not can just take them and never give them back. So I signed and continued to fight for full custody right after.... my lawyer charged me 3,000 for that one court date two 5 min in person meetings and a 15 min phone call he refused to supenia who I wanted to for court to testify I’d always handled all my sons thing form therapy my my oldest autistic child to doctors dentist you name it I had to do it by myself and all while I was pregnant with my second son and then my daughter I still got no help then and was so sick from the morning sickness I have to get ivs of fluids from the hospital a few times a month and stronger meds to keep me from throwing up. I hate going to this place, it is like no one knows what they are doing. Caseworks arent friendly to each other, so you can just imagine how they act toward the needy.

I have also never received a call or email response and because of the lack of communication have now been denied FNS . My advice would be to either take pictures of every single thing they send you, with post office delivery stamp, and return your items registered mail. If you have the time in between all the jobs you are probably working in order to feed your family.

Every time we call them for help they made the ppl trying to help the bad guys and do more harm to the children I thought the point was to keep family’s together but some of these workers don’t care if the kids continue to get hurt and put down the ppl who want the kids and want to help

Is great when the workers acknowledge that you are there. But when they want to take their time they take their time!!!

This is will be labeled under my boyfriends name, but my experience with them has been awful. The case worker assigned to me has been rude in the brief emails weve had. No one has EVER called or emailed me back and I cant get anything answered. These people are unprofessional, inconsiderate, and rude. I understand they deal with a lot of people, but a little bit of courtesy and communication goes a long way.

I found myself without insurance after 30 years of work and keeping ins. I was basically waved off. Because of past income, but No income now. I thought this was what social service was for. Temporary help in time of need.

Place isnt very clean and the people arent friendly. Im sure they have to deal with a lot of different people but a smile can make things so much easier.

When we go here we almaost always try not to go on mondays because mondays are super packed and the wait times are 10 times longer to be helped but any other day through the week is better days to go

Worked with a very kind lady named judy wolf. She was so non judmental and understanding. I have never been treated nicer at a social services office then the one in iredell.

Hello everyone that reads this, I am really surprised on how fast that they waited on people. And the one thing that matters is they didnt rush anyone out.

They answer the phone incredibly fast and the service is fast too.

After going through the entire process of application, they lost my paperwork and never returned any calls. 20 messages I left. SHAME ON THEM.

Ive had 2 new case workers and both of them were terrible...I just gave up on my application altogether because its not worth the headache!
