Im really happy we decided to sign up. The classes are amazing, my son loves it! You can go 1 day, 5 days, or even 6 days a week for the same monthly cost.Seriously, check this place out. The instructors, the atmosphere, the cost, the location, and the discipline are the best youll find. I cant say enough great things about this place.

I have always been into some sort of athletics and had just finished my 10th year doing triathlons and needed a break. The day after running my final NYC marathon, I signed up for the introductory class with Cesar at Carlson Gracie BJJ Team in Stamford. I was welcomed in among the higher belts at the class and they took their time with me. They didnt try to humiliate me or prove their ego. After the first class, I was extremely tired, and it was only an hour class. After doing multiple Ironman competitions for over 10 hours each (obviously not an elite), a 1 hour class whooped me. I was pretty much hooked at the first class.BJJ is about patience, skill, technique, athleticism, and support. Cesar and the team have always had the best interest of the team and the individual as the foremost staple. The introduction is always positive and effective. The gym and facility is always clean with lockers, plenty of room, and cleaning stations abound. If youre looking for a great workout, discipline, and self-defense, with excellent instruction, clean environment, and plenty of teammates that will have your back (quite literally), come on down to Carlson Gracie Team and meet with Cesar.

Cesar is not only an expert but he’s also professional, i’ve been coming here for a few months now and you could really notice things just by taking a look around, the kids during kids classes are all smiling and playing while learning this valuable self defense tool, the adult classes are fun and always plentiful in sparring partners. Everyone’s body is different and Cesar always teaches multiple ways of the same movement for each individual to never be left out of techniques. The facility is always clean spotless no dirt or grime and most importantly everyone is really friendly and nice you’re bound to make friends here

During the pandemic, these people never wearing masks in BJJ classes, a body contact sports. Kids classes nor adults classes NOT required wear a mask. They moved to a new place but never updated on Google. The owner must be more responsible and professional. Do not put your students and their families in risk.

I’ve studied martial arts for over 10 years, so I know a great instructor when I see one. Cesar is an amazing instructor and I am truly grateful for being one of his students. I started training 3 years ago and it’s easily been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. If you want to learn Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in a safe environment where you’ll get in shape AND become a better person, this is the place to go!!!

Been coming to Cesar Pereira’s BJJ gym for a year and change now, one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. BJJ will teach you how to fight/defend yourself + it’s an insanely good workout. No one here is a meathead that will try to embarrass you and I’ve made some great friends here. Give it a try!

From a womans perspective, knowing self-defense is imperative these days. When I was searching for a reliable school I came across Cesars gym. Since my very first class, I felt like I joined this BIG FAMILY. Very respectful, professional and knowledgeable. Cesar has this particular way of caring for his students, from the kids to the adults. He is like our second father I would say.. our paizao, and when COVID hit, he immediately took the most preventive measures (following the CT Guidelines) to ENSURE a SAFER ENVIRONMENT to all of us. This month of October, I am celebrating my 2 year anniversary with my BJJ Family and I couldnt be any HAPPIER!!!! I cant THANK YOU enough Cesar for all you do for us. Oss!!!!

This Academy is one of the most welcoming and safest environments I have ever been in; especially now during such uncertain times. Following the mandatory closing, the soft reopening of the academy under the strict guidelines of the CDC, Federal, State & Local authorities compounded even further by the in house rules & requirements make this academy one of the best in the business. I began training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu 17 years ago; my cousin, Brian Punger is a 2nd Degree, Black Belt instructor on Long Island, my brother holds the rank of Brown Belt & my nephew holds the rank of Grey Belt as well. This experience, along with how close to the heart both my family and I hold this martial art, echoes the recommendation, that this academy is nothing short of World Class. Masks are required, temperature checks prior to entrance, limited contact, social distancing, multiple sterilization cleanings per day and limited attendance and schedule are just some of the complete measures to make this facility a safe environment to attend during these uncertain times. Professor Cesar Pereira, 5th Degree Black Belt under Master Carlson Gracie Jr. is an exemplary Profesor; teaching not only the gentle art but the guiding principles that enable Jiu Jitsu to be a way of life. I highly recommend this academy to anyone new or old in the sport and art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

I have been training for 1 year now. I decided to come by for a few classes while I was home for the holidays, visiting from out of town. They welcomed me with open arms and a very comfortable setting. The professor is extremely knowledgeable and has a profound respect for all his students. I had an amazing experience and it deserves my highest recommendation. When I am in the area next, I will definitely visit again

Really wanted to like this place, and the only reason Im giving it 2 stars is because they actually called me back, and the guy on the phone was really nice. That being said, I had called them around 5pm on a Friday and no one answered, so I hung up. They must have used their caller id to call me back. Fine, I like the initiative.Very nice on the phone but he said he just answers phones and sets up the intro classes. I asked about class times and monthly, weekly, or per class cost. Is there a package you buy? etc? They said, come in for your free class then we can discuss price. That seemed a bit shady to me, why cant they mention price on the phone? I dont have time to take intro classes to come in and find out that it might be too expensive for what Id like to pay. It would be a waste of everyones time.Cant speak about the school at all, just my experience in trying to get information from them.

Simply the best....Ive been training for about 3.5 months, and about 5x a week now. I just cant get enough. I come from a very athletic background playing multiple sports in high school, and even playing lacrosse in college. However I was looking for something new, something challanging. Then, I found Cesar. He is truley one of the best around. The breakdown of the drills in training is noncompairable, also the effort he puts in and the pasion he has for the art. Joining the gym was one of the best decisions I have ever made for my personal health, and life! Finally the atmosphere is great, Ive made some great friends along the way that support, guide and are with you all the way. Truley humbling.

The best place in Fairfield County to learn traditional Brazilian Jiu-jitsu from one of the best instructors. Professor Cesar Pereira Bjj is from Rio de Janeiro and studied under Master Carlson Gracie himself. Its true family atmosphere where no one is judged. Ive been treated like family since day one and I love all my teammates like family too. If you want to learn a martial art that is truely gonna give you the upper hand when it comes to self defense or you just want to stay in shape then Carlson Gracie Team Stamford is the place to be. Pass by anytime and check it out for yourself!
