I am a therapist and attended an Ethics workshop via online last week with Nevin. I was so impressed with how authentic and genuine he was as he taught the class. As I expressed concern over trying different things she helped me get to the root of what the concern was and how to work through that. Now it has been almost a decade since that time, and I still remember her gentle suggestions when I recognize old unhealthy patterns emerging. It makes it much easier for me to switch gears and do a better job communicating and working through problems when they arise. Michelle is so empathetic and understanding. She is very calming and you can feel how much she cares and wants to listen and help just by walking in the room. I am a therapist, so my experience with Nevin Alderman was through taking a continuing education class he was teaching. These kind of classes can be boring and unimpressive. This was NOT the case with Nevin! He was so knowledgeable and engaging. Nevin showed his ability to teach concepts to other therapists as well as provide examples of how to apply the principles with clients. Not sure if I can save you time and energy but this is my story.I was married for 10 years and with out going into to many details my last year I went crazy. In my head I was already divorced, and I because of that I made a great many mistakes. One being I cheated.My now Ex found out and we went to therapy as well as some other things in an attempt to save our marriage. The church recommended this location.We did 2-3 months of therapy and I always felt on the defensive, and never on equal footing. It was always about my own sins and never really felt like my own feelings and problems had any weight or consideration.Though it is very possible that it was my reflection or projection of my own feelings and guilt...However what was not a projection was my last visit.During my first session I had let therapist know that I could not spend another 10 years like the ones I had already spent.Fast forward 2-3 monthsIf I was not willing to stick around for another 10 years then I was not committed to save the marriage.They where correct! 100 percent! The separation and divorced started soon after.So why the low review you may wonder? Because I told them I was not willing to wait another 10 years I am not sure it should have taken them 2-3 months to say if you are not willing to do that then divorce.*Edited review with more context and an extra star. They honestly seemed to reach out to me in good faith to see if they could help.

I attended Renews Transform Your Practice workshop in January 2019. I was significantly impacted, both at an emotional level and as a clinician. His teaching method involved the perfect balance between didactic theory and practical, real-world enactments of the therapeutic techniques. I plan on attending many more high quality continuing education seminars from this clinic in the future. From the standpoint of my training and practice as a clinical psychologist, the depth of his experience within family systems theory/application was humbling, invigorating, and provacatively enlightening. While I tend to be a bit shy and withdrawn when it comess to group participation; this tendancy was honored and the majority of my learning came from observing the braver members of the group play out the interventions in the here-and-now. Nuanced and informed Ethics CEU portions were included both days, which was awesome!
