Have been a member here for the majority of the last 20 years, while also randomly having other gym memberships for shorter periods of a time at the same time. Genesis has everything you need in a gym, Plus the childcare is trustworthy, professional, and they take great care of the kids. Love this place and am thankful for all their amenities!

The people here are wonderful beings and very helpful in situations beyond your control. I wouldnt choose another gym because of how great this place is. Its worth it.

I really enjoy going to this gym. There is a lot of equipment and I love the gym friendly atmosphere. Every time I come in I am always happily greeted. One of the team members named Zoe has helped me numerous times and is very knowledgeable about the different classes at genesis, informs me on different good supplements to take, and always is very friendly whenever I come in. I tell all my friends if they are going to get a membership get one with her because she knows so much about what the gym has to offer!

I have always enjoyed working out.Started in November 2020 and paid for trainers in April 2021. The trainers are professional, knowledgeable and incredibly thorough. No fault of the trainers, I found out through the 12 trainer sessions that I had some real issues with my back. Visited a chiropractor and my trainer took the information and completely transformed our workout overnight to fit what the Chiropractor recommended. I recommend Genesis to everyone for many reasons other than trainers.Great staff, hot tub, sauna, salt water pool, all the gym facilities and so much more.I always enjoyed Cox fitness centers and didn’t think I would go anywhere else but when they closed the doors for working out, I took a chance with Genesis and so glad I did.One last positive, my oldest son lives in Olathe, Kansas and Genesis is less than than three miles away. So they have other convenient locations so you can stay up on the workouts and fitness classes.

Absolutely love this gym they are so helpful all the time, the trainers are always there to help! They have amazing shake bar, and fun classes! Theres so many activities to engage the member! I Always Feel like family! I would recommend this gym only, to anyone!

I have been a long time member of Genesis and always had a great experience. When they make mistakes, if you come in calmly and relay the facts they will work with you and help you out!

Don’t waste your time and money on this gym. When I first signed up for my 6 month membership I was told about several things that would come with it just to find out after I signed up it did not . After explaining this to someone after month one of paying they said “I’m sorry he doesn’t work here anymore” it is now month 6 of paying for a gym membership I refuse to use because of the lies they sold it to my on and now they’re wanting another $100 for me to cancel it. Oh I just explained why I wanted to cancel to yet another person and turns out the guy who sold me my membership still works there and this SAME EXACT thing happened to a couple of my friends who have been trying to cancel for months now as well due to all the things they were told upon signing up.If you’re looking into this gym for the purpose of they have childcare I try to take my daughter one time and they had about 30 kids jammed in that tiny little area.don’t recommend.

Love this gym. The trainers are knowledgeable, the classes are fun and there’s a lot to choose from, the kids club is clean, and there’s lots of equipment. The environment is motivating and encouraging. I recommend this gym not only to people experienced in fitness but beginners as well because the trainers help you get started.

The kids club is fantastic! They take great care of all the kids and are so helpful. Very accommodating to all the needs.

One of the people at the desk were nice the other was really rude. I stopped in from out of the area. I was told they had a lifting platform. There was one and the bars dont spin properly.It was nice to be able to get a convenient lift in although not ideal.

Great atmosphere! I love the energy that flows through the gym and have been working out here for almost four years. The Kids Club is amazing and my kids have the best time while my husband and I workout. Genesis has a lot to offer including tanning and swim lesson packages that we utilize as well.

Gym is good. Contracts are predatory, they handled COVID poorly, and canceling your contract is the most inconvenient process I have ever experienced with any gym. If they fixed their contracts, these gyms would easily be 4 or 5 stars.

They have great trainers and their front desk people are always so friendly. The staff is super helpful and caring.

I love both North and South side clubs, I love taking body pump, body flow, and grit classes.I also love working out on the equipment. All of the staff and other members are very friendly.

My rep was jake and he was very friendly and polite when I walked in. He was very knowledgeable of what the gym had to offer and was precise and to the point for the terms.

When I first started using genesis I enjoyed it because of the option for childcare, it was extremely helpful for a single mom who couldn’t find time to workout. However, the amount I paid monthly to the gym was just a little much for me. With a tanning membership as well I was paying $160+ a month (most gyms have memberships that include tanning that will only cost you between $20-40). This eventually became too much for me. When I called to cancel my membership (over a year ago) they told me they understood and would cancel it for me. Recently I’ve received letters from them saying I owe them over $1,600 and they would be taking my tax return. After I had canceled over a year ago!!! Do not use this gym. I had been warned by others not to use it because of this exact kind of issue and unfortunately decided to use it anyway. If you’re in the same boat as me and are looking to use this gym strictly because of the daycare, save your money and just get a babysitter scheduled for days you’d like to workout AT A DIFFERENT GYM. If this gym hadn’t been so expensive as well as ended up being complete crooks and a scam I would have very much enjoyed my experience. However, a few extra amenities are not worth an extra $100+ a month compared to what you’d pay at another gym, nor is it worth possibly being fined $1,600+. My advise? Find a different gym.

Wanted to shout out Jacob. He helped me with what I needed very quickly and professionally even though he was dealing with other things going on in the gym at the same time. He was very professional, I actually assumed he was the manager of the gym because of the professionalism that he showed.

Gym is good however parking lot theft and people being careless in the parking lot created a bad experience. No cameras to catch hit and runs ending up costing me deductible on someone who hit my car in parking lot and ran.

Really good people work there, theres such a good variety in all the different freeweight and love the cardio section 10/10 would recommend!

The personal trainers are amazing, especially if you are new to working out!! 10/10 recommend. They set up a specialized workout for your specific needs and help mentally guide you to your goals!

I love coming here! I have a service dog that attends with me, and from the start female Erin and Jake along with the rest of the staff have been super helpful and nice with everything.

Ssd that they advertise specials to join but can’t give you any info when you call to them inquire. I called and spoke with Chris who said he was the manager yet he had someone whispering stuff to him and coaching him on what to say. I told Chris I didn’t want a sales pitch just that I wanted pricing. He told me he couldn’t give me pricing without me coming in to fill out some paper. I don’t care if you do have a pool, sauna, and other stuff that Planet Fitness doesn’t. They make up for the lack of those things with their pricing and not pushy sales pitch or trying to scam me.

Been coming here for two years. Ive gotten some feedback from friends and family who have also been. My family loves it and I love it too. Its definitely worth the money if you work out often. They have hotter, showers, sauna, lockers dont need locks as they have a built in combination system that you can change when using. Theres so much variety for your membership. Downside: no running track, all the stair machines slip and move even when not on. Staff is the friendliest and they have a smoothie and shake bar if you want just a quick one and they taste good!

Stay Away! Salesman tactics during sign up. They want that contract! Cancelation isnt what it seems.You are much better joining a cheaper than overpaying here.

The staff are super friendly and the maintenance are always on point with repairs.

Went in ONE time for a tour 2 years ago and they’re STILL calling me asking to join. The place smelled bad like sweat and burnt skin. They made me take a long questionnaire before going in, with all these questions asking me what I dislike about my body and which parts I want to change so they can upsell you on personal training even if you don’t want it. It was an uncomfortable experience and annoying that they are still calling me after I decided not to join. My friend even blocked their phone number because it just never stops, like a car salesman but worse.

Be careful when dealing with the company in a financial or contract way. I would not recommend the facility for this reason.

All staff members were wearing masks. They were also cleaning and disinfecting equiptmemt continuously. I was told they have air purifying equipment on. There was no one in the pool except me. The sauna and hot tub is still closed til jun 1st. Overall I did feel safe and will be returning there soon.

Before signing up for a membership here be sure to check out their company on the Better Business Bureau as website. At the time of this posting they have had over a 100 complaints filed within the last 12 months and they are not accredited by the BBB.

This is a great place to work out if you have kids. There day care is amazing and my kids always have a wonderful time. The group training classes really helps me with keeping my motivation up. Awesome gym and friendly staff.

Nice & encouraging staff, wide variety of equipment, saltwater lap pool that I love, hot tub, steam sauna, and nice locker room complete with everything youd need. Great hours, as well. Love that they have 2 locations in Springfield. Workout at both, but I prefer the South location with more options and a much nicer facility.

Genesis is a great gym. I love all of the Bodyflow instructors; I would recommend the south location and that specific class to anyone. I also really like that the gym is separated into an upstairs and a downstairs because it makes my workout feel a little more private, which I appreciate. Thank you for motivating me to be a healthier me!

I have known at least a handful of people that were bullied into contracts with this place, and then harassed and threatened when they couldn’t afford the absurdly high costs. These people do not care about you or your health, they only care about money. All these 1 Star reviews you see are not competitors or bitter ex employees, they are real people that don’t want others to be taken advantage of like they were. If you want to get in shape without going broke then you are better suited at other gyms.

Worst experience ever. Was talked into a 2 year contract. I have 5 months left. Have 5 training sessions I paid for( over 200$) took money out when they were closed for covid said there would be a credit.. lol I took a job where there is no Genisis gyms now I. Told I have to buy out my contract. Seriously disappointed in this company. Especially with all this craziness going on. Definitely lost a member for life.

The instructors are encouraging and push you to get the most out of your workouts! My personal trainer, Chris Raymond, supports me in my fitness goals. My pt sessions and group x classes have helped me with my weight loss and strength goals.

Dont waste your money. They have lots of hidden fees they charge on top of a monthly payment. I hurt my back in February and was told I could put my membership on hold that never happened. My contract was set to expire in june they told me I didnt have to do anything to cancel but they keep charging my account. As well as charge me for the month of April they were closed we were supposed to get refunds no refunds just more charges! Horrible customer service everytime I call I get different excuses!

This place is truly made over the top by the people there daily. Aaron Moore (regional manager) and Sherri Mackay (tan company general manager) are the best at what they do and have created one of the most enjoyable environments in Springfield! The desk is always friendly & helpful too. Love this place!

Loving my new membership at Genesis!!! The four personal training sessions has started me on my way to my own fitness goal success!! I love the fact that I can bring my kiddos to the day care while I work out!! After my workout, the hot tub has been a great reward to myself !! Genesis has it all, and group fitness classes are the best!!! And if that is not enough......they have personal trainers who are amazing to work with you one on one to Taylor your workouts to achieve your personal goals!!!

As much as this gym has going for it, it has areas that should be - and easily could be - getting better. Great staff, but limited in interaction. Great equipment, but needs repair or replaced. Great building, but needs cleaning. The one big thing South has going for it is the all-day childcare. NORTH NEEDS THIS, AS WELL. For the price, theres no reason why these areas cant be - shouldnt be - addressed.

This gym is wonderful! Ive been a member for almost 3 years, one of the very few places if not the only with child care included for such a fair price! There is always someone willing to help you and the facility is kept very clean!

Love this gym! Your membership entails quite a bit of quality amenities. The locker rooms are spacious, clean, and always fully stocked with clean towels and toiletries. The equipment is clean, diverse and well-maintained. The staff is friendly and helpful. The smoothie/shake bar is delicious. You have a readily available sauna, pool and hot tub. Classes are free with your membership (take a spin class if you want a lesson in physical humility). 10/10 would recommend! I thoroughly love going there every day after work.

Oh yeah!! They are here to help us strive for a better body and health experience. I’ve been a member for a month and I’m in awe of the place, the staff is always friendly and kind and the machines are always clean and kept orderly. My best Experience is always when I’m up stairs running. It’s kinda like you can pull energy from the people that’s going hard around you and it just drives you. If your looking for a clean up-to-date place to get healthy GENESIS is the place for ya!!

I love this place and the people. I was with Ozark fitness and stayed through the re model and when Genesis took over. They have done amazing. I feel like a person and not just a $ sign. The staff knows me by name - the trainers have walked with me on my journey and continue to give me confidence and knowledge. You get what you pay for - and this place is investing in your health and life - not just an expense.

Very friendly staff and trainers

Id been a member of Ozark fitness for a few years before it going over to Genesis. I was excited by some of the remodeling and other things such as the pool being added. Everything was great for a bit. I ended up seeing some extra charges being billed to me from Genesis and ended up calling in to see what it was. No one on the phones could tell me and asked for me to call back when a manager or some other person was there. I waited and called back when I was asked to. The guy on the phone told me not to worry about it and he could credit my account. I waited a week or so and never saw the credit and when calling in asked about this, the manager was there this time and told me he wanted proof of the charge and then he could look into it. I took a picture of my bank statement, by this time I was super aggravated having spent all this time on the phone for a charge from them that they apparently didnt even know what it was and then I had to spend more time to prove they charged me. The guy ended up telling me he wouldnt credit it even though the other rep promised to. I told him that Id been there for years and never had a problem and after the way I was treated if they wanted to lose me over a 15 dollar charge I would leave over principle. He told me I couldnt cancel over the phone and to have a good day. I didnt have time that day to go in so I waited till I had time off work. I called the gym closest to me which was the north side one and went in to cancel. The manager was actually pretty likable and tried to reason with me to stay. The guy at the front offered me a retention offer of free personal training sessions or something else I didnt want. I told him I wanted to know what the charge was for and wanted to be credited it and wanted that month of gym fees waived and I would stay with the gym. He told me he couldnt explain what the charge was for. I decided to cancel that day. I ended up going through all my terms later on and talking to other friends who had went there. Figured out it was for a yearly cleaning fee or something else. All this over that. The gym itself is pretty nice. I dont like how they close early on the north side gym and the weekend hours are reduced. If the management could have done a better job they would have had me probably for life. At this point ive gone to Meyers-Briggs, Cox North, and Planet fitness and all were good competitors to this gym. I have considered rejoining Genesis but they hid their prices off of their site and when I called in the front desk guy told me he didnt know how much they cost and had to set me up with an appointment with a SA or something. I received an advertisement in my friends name this week to rejoin at old rate and this is what reminded me about Genesis.

I like the team spirit of the employees and the support from the members! The equipment is clean and well maintained . I feel free to workout and not be judged!! I am praised however when I do well in a group class

I have been going for a month now, and Ive already lost 30lbs, in total 90lbs. Im very happy with the equipment, and services that are offered. The staff is AMAZING! I dont know why I didnt go to the gym years ago. This place is my home away from home. Thank you to the staff for being amazing. I will continue to be a member.

Constantly harassing me and my girlfriend. Even with employees personal phones. Theyre bullies that are only out for your wallet.

The trainers are good to help if you have questions. The ladies are good to my kids, management team are great and take suggestions seriously, and the variety of classes are great! I don’t feel intimidated even as I’m not the most fit. I feel like this club is for all ages and fitness levels.

I think it is necessary to set the record straight that Genesis Health Clubs are NOT Ozark Fitness Center. That place was awful!I have been a member of Genesis for a month now and I have nothing but good things to say. The fitness team is amazing from day 1. I felt welcome and did not struggle with any gym anxiety.I am older so I have injuries and health issues and they have worked with me to create a plan that fits my needs.I have just signed up for personal training sessions and my trainer is experienced in physical therapy and has a knowledge of the body second to none. He is wonderful.Boot Camp? You gotta try it!!!!!! Fantastic workout!!!Thank you Genesis North for being MY facility.

The only club in Springfield that was willing to help with rates to allow gathering of a fitness/youth ministry for an affordable price. The staff is great. They are always willing to help out in anyway they can!
