We had the BEST adoption experience at Robertson County Animal Control on May 11, 2021. We have been looking for the right Beagle to share our loving home with and we finally found her. Brownie is such a sweet and well behaved girl. Although she didnt work out with the other 2 families she has now found her forever home with us. We will be forever grateful to Robertson County Amimal Control for allowing us the opportunity to give Brownie the good life she deserves. She gets along great with our Malinois Shepherd. They have other sweet beautiful dogs that need a good home. If you are looking for a forever friend this is the place to find them. Friendly staff and area where the dogs are kept is clean and no odors noted.
This facility is not a very clean facility I have been in here before and has caused me to get sick just by the smell of walking through the door. On top of if you have an issue with a dog that has been dropped or if there is an issue with the neighbors dog you cannot get them to come out unless you say that it is a issue with a pitbull. I have had issues with trying to get them to come out for a dog that I have been calling for them to pick up for three weeks now the dog was dropped at my house. I have yet to receive a call back after calls calling multiple times I have sent messages on Facebook and have had nothing but issues with trying to get somebody to respond. But yet they will come out for ridiculous calls if you have a pitbull or if somebody says that you have a pitbull. This is a horrible facility with horrible people. This place needs to be ran by someone who actually cares about animals and their well beings.
We just adopted the sweetest pit mix (who is currently snoring, asleep on my computer case as I type this) at Robertson County Animal Controls shelter. The staff was lovely and took a lot of time with us to find the right dog to add to our home who would get along with our other two dogs. Before I drove out there I saw some of the Google reviews that complained of the smell etc, and yes, the kennel does not smell good. But the dogs were being well cared for, the staff clearly cared about the animals, and seemed to do a great job despite limited resources. I would absolutely adopt from them again in the future. I hope you will consider checking them out as they need great homes for the pets they are working hard to help.
The lady on the phone seemed nice. We had an appointment set to drive a long distance to look at an animal for adoption. When we arrived another family was in the front area and had the animal we wanted to see and was adopting it.Knowing we were coming so far with a specific interest in an animal and with us immediately going that way, I would have wished the people would have kept our appt. That seems like common courtesy. When we went in to look at other dogs, many of the signs identifying the dogs were the wrong photos/breeds.We left pretty disappointed.
Adopted my new dog from here recently, and from answering my calls and e-mails to the actual adoption process, it was smooth sailing from people who seem to actually care about these animals. It was fast and easy. Even though they’re a government shelter, they are technically no-kill and try hard to do right by these dogs and cats & find them homes. They gave me a massive gift basket with very helpful supplies for my new dog when I took her home, too.
We didnt get a dog from here cause we found a fur baby in need close by! However the lady who answered the phone was super nice and loved her animals. I pray that all these babies find loving homes.
Found a stray dog on side of road today and decided to be kind and bring him to my local animal shelter. Since that’s where I’m a resident and only shelters take local resident pets. Well I Get their and attendant girl said they don’t accept intakes today even thou I was already their and all she had to do was take the small dog. She said they won’t accept them till Monday well the dog is now wondering around the county since it appears that this county’s tax payer dollars goes to bare minimum for pet shelter and care. Or even care in general...
Took a neighbors dog for boarding.. ladies were great
As far as I have been there it is amazing. But it does smell though but that is what I expected seeing that it is housing animals. I have heard some bad things about them (treating animals, neglecting animals) I adopted one five minutes ago and the prorcess was easy and great
If I could give it 0 stars; I would. I went in to adopt Ralph that my gf and I saw on petfinder. At first I wasn’t allowed back to see the animals due to an emergency cleaning. When I got back there it was over crowded the smell was absolutely atrocious with both cats and dogs. It was extremely hot and flea ridden. I took “ralph“ to the vet immediately after, and he was a she. Two of her toe beans were rotting off and she was infested with fleas. Luckily, she will be just fine. But something needs to be done with/for this place. It’s so so so devastating.
The Animals there are Found as Strays, Or Owner Surrenders the, .If in the Summer Time Im sure Flea are.Bad . They make Room for all Animals .When they pick up a Fog or Cat that has Been Homeless Invested with Fleas then Those Fleas will Jump on others. Those Stray Dogsthey Pick up Probably Smell from living on Stréet
I wanted a certain kitten and I called before I go to make sure she was there and the lady said yes! And I drove for an hour and 30 mins to go there and it wasn’t there! And the place smelled awful!!!! I’m NEVER going back there. Poor animals! They have to stay in that awful place! 👎🏼👎🏼
So friendly and nice and have GREAT prices on fixing your pets please check them out before going other places!!!!
Went to see if their were any dogs available for adoption, took one step into the place where they keep the dogs, and it smelled HORRIBLE. the smell was so putrid that my throat has been hurting all day since then. it literally smelled like there was an animal decomposing. i’d like to see the health department inspect that place and shut it down. keeping dogs in this condition is NEGLECT. the staff said none were available for adoption because they were tied up in court cases, pff, id like to take THEM to court.
Tried to volunteer here and they treated me like I was a spy, questioning everything each time I came to walk dogs, clean kennels or dog dishes, they were unappreciative and unfriendly. I have volunteered at shelters for over 20 years and this one is the worst.
Got a sweet kitty!!!
