I came here around 6:30 pm through the recommendation from my vets office after my dog had eaten a pound of chocolate. When I got there the wait time was pretty high however, my dogs case was highly emergent and I was able to be seen quickly. They did a great job of explaining to me the progression of illness and what measures were to be taken/expected. Additionally they were able to help me manage the cost. They gave me a high estimate, but also explained that the cost is variable and dependent on the needs of my dog. I was very thankful for all that they did for my dog. I left her there for two nights and was delighted to recieve text updates and images from her care takers. The doctor called me once a day to discuss treatment and plans. They also were able to give me all the information I needed for insurance purpose before I left the facility with my healthy dog. I would 100% use BluePearl again in case of an emergency. Thank you for taking such good care of my baby!
We took our Yorkie here at 3 am due to rapid breathing. We were immediately checked in and they immediately took our Yorkie in the back. All of the doctors and nurses here are extremely knowledgeable and explain everything in a way that you can understand. They do not rush you, they take their time when talking to you. They really care about all of their patients. They let us go in the back to see our dog before we went home. I was surprised at how many people were working in the back at that time of night and by how extensive it was. There were easily 25+ people in the back working and I instantly knew my dog would be safe and well-cared for. No, it is not cheap as this is a full veterinary hospital. However, they do not nickel and dime you, as overall their individual rates are a bit less than the regular vet. For example, I paid over $800 for an echocardiogram at my vet office and paid a little over $500 for the same thing here. They do talk to you about cost up front because they dont want you to be taken by surprise. Overall, our experience was great, in spite of the anxiety we felt with our dog being so sick. The doctor called every time when she said she would call, we were never left hanging. We even called once at night just to check on our dog before we went to bed. If its the middle of the night or after hours and your dog is having an emergency, this is the best place to go as your dog will have a fighting chance. They provide thorough instructions upon his discharge as well as an itemized bill.
This is a very expensive place, but it IS a 24/7 animal hospital so you really have no choice if theres an emergency and other clinics are closed. This is what happened to me as I had an emergency with my dog but the staff were very upfront about the price and even offered to help find more affordable places if we were unable to pay.Fortunately, we were able to get my dog treated here and I eventually took him to a more affordable place for additional treatment to lessen costs. I could tell the staff really cared about the well being of my dog, as they helped me find other clinics that I could go to that was less expensive and also checked to make sure these clinics offered services that was needed to nurse my dog back to health.Overall, I am really grateful that this clinic is open 24/7, as I dont know what I wouldve done if I couldnt find one that was. Now, despite the fact that this place is wonderful and the staff is great, I have to reiterate that this place is very expensive. Their services are reliable, and you can expect the utmost care for your furry friend, but the prices are steep. Just keep that in mind.
Really nice vet. The wait was long because of all the emergencies, but they took in my cat right way while I waited. The price is pretty good for an emergency and I am really happy I went.
We had to have our puppy Dexter euthanized there on 8/1 as he was suffering from distemper. The process was relatively quick and we were able to be with him in his final moments. For that we are grateful. We opted for the private cremation. The memorial we received with Dexters ashes is very nice and came with an excellent small paw print plate. Everything was very elegant.
Our chaweenie was seen here after a dog attack and we were very concerned i honestly didn’t have any money at the time and so they were kind enough to rule out internal bleeding by x-ray but then they s said he had a collapsed lung. The assistant then came in the room and the first question she asked was if we were going to get a second opinion???? No why would we??? Then she proceeded to tell us the dog probably wouldn’t make it through the night. I’m not sure why she said that because the very next day our dog was almost 100%. I’m just confused why they would ask if we were going somewhere else and the try to prepare us for our dog to pass away.
We were referred to the oncology department by our primary vet after our dog was diagnosed with cancer. After his initial evaluation, the various treatment options, their pros/cons/general prognosis, and approximate costs were laid out clearly and thoughtfully.Throughout his treatment, the bluepearl staff were very kind, flexible with drop off/pick up, attentive, and extremely responsive to our various emails and phone calls with questions. We even emailed our vet photos asking if something was normal. At the end of his life, they helped us to find a home euthanasia service so our dog could go to sleep at home in peace.Having a dog with cancer is horrible to go through, but the staff at BluePearl really helped. I would recommend to anyone, and will take any of my pets back if needed.
Please listen to these vets if they tell you your dog isnt ready to go home. I did not and lost my beloved pet. The vets here may be abrupt and insensitive to your feelings as an owner but their job is saving animals and they put that task first. Learn from my mistake and let the vets here do their thing.
BE CAREFUL!!!! It can turn into a hustle opportunity if your not careful. They were about to do a surgery on my pet on something that was non existent for 3,800 when all my dog needed was to me “fixed” for thousands less! I wish I had that veterinarian on tape.. she talked as though my pet had no chance of making it without this surgery. AND SHES NOT THE ONLY ONE THAT DOES THIS! Please get second opinions!!!!! They get you at your most vulnerable moment. AND DON’T BELIEVE THIOSE 5 STAR RATINGS.. they get people to do that to “overshadow” the seriousness at hand. Get second opinions people! Please. These doctors are not like they used to be!
The best place to take your beloved pet to when it comes that time to be caring, they have all the services that you need all in one place and make all the experience easier for you in difficult times like saying goodbye to your best friend.Their stuff is extremely compassionate about the situation and helps you go thru the process in the most comfortable way possible.
We had to put down our 13 year old dog Friday night. My 3 stars is for policy, not care. Care was fantastic. We have used the Willowbrook location and it was even better, but it was before Covid. Willowbrook location is closed, so we took our dog to Spring Cypress. While, our dog was older, she had been healthy or so we and our regular vet thought. Our pet went downhill quickly and had labored breathing Friday evening, so she needed immediate care. In an open mask-less state, they are STILL ONLY doing drop off. This was very concerning. Our very sick dog was taken from us, by someone from our car, outside of the building. If you are at Blue Pearl, its a serious vet visit, not routine and emotions are all over the place and you want to be with your animal or at least inside in a waiting room.We waited in the car for the vet to call after the initial exam. I wanted blood work and the ultrasound, as long as our pet was not distressed for the U/S. The vet assured me she would stop if Charlee was distressed. Very thankful. She was candid with me and said they were expensive tests and she felt the outcome would be the same. It was worth it to us to make sure. But, I truly appreciate, she tried to save us the $737.Liver cancer with blood in her abdomen and surrounding her lungs was the diagnosis, without treatment options. Euthanasia was on the table, as the kindest thing to do. I do not mind their prices, because its emergency care and that is expensive. I am also grateful we had a place to go, on a Friday evening. But, it could have been handled so much kinder. My issue is we werent allowed in with our pet. Then, I was sent a payment link by text to pay, before we could say goodbye and then had to wait outside for a while, before they let us in with her. We were all upset. I was crying, so typing in all the card info and other info in on my tiny phone took several tries. It would have been much easier to answer questions and have someone run my card to pay, given the emotional state of loosing a family member. We were only allowed to go in two at a time, to say goodbye to our family member. Only two could be there for putting her to sleep. There were 4 of us. Our pet was afraid when they brought her in, but calmed down as soon as she saw my husband and son. They were first in. My daughter and I last. She was with us for 13 years and 4 months. It was a private room, we were masked and the tech was masked. The tech was only close to us when she pushed the solution and she was never right next to us and mostly left us alone with our pet. It would have been lovely and the right thing to all have been together with our dog, one last time as a family. Our 16 year old daughter doesnt remember a time without our dog and the dog slept with our 16 year old every night. She fell on the floor afterwards, just devastated and crying her heart out. It would have been nice for her, to have the support of my husband and her brother. Even though our pet was older, this was sudden and unexpected, which added to the shock and upset. I think the policy is highly impersonal, considering the nature of most of their visits and its certainly past time for it to change to normal in these situations. We never saw the vet, only one tech, but I believe the care at Blue Pearl is top notch. I think their policies (which I am sure the people working there didnt make) completely stink and make a hard situation, much more difficult. With as much as you can do unmasked, I think this policy masked, is so wrong. Keep the mask if you like, but let families be together with their pets. Two persons at a time and the other two out of the building, is so very wrong. I really hope Blue Pearl considers changing this policy, especially when its end of life for a faithful, loving and long term family member.
I had my dog suddenly pass away on a holiday and on top of the heartbreak, I was stressing out about potentially having to keep his body overnight as everything was closed until the next day. I came across Blue Pearl and decided to give them a called and explained the situation to them. The gentleman I spoke to kindly offered to have me bring his body in for a hold until I could sort things out. It brought so much peace of mind and took a huge weight off my shoulders while I gathered myself and made arrangements. The staff was very sweet and sensitive about the whole situation. I felt that they treated my baby with respect and when I went to pick him up, they had kindly placed his body in a nice, heavy duty box and sealed it up. I cried at the kind gesture as I was not expecting them to do all that. Blue Pearl made the passing of my dog a little more easier and I cannot thank them enough for the kindness and help they showed us. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
DO NOT GO HERE!!! They do not take your animals life seriously, they look at your animal like a money maker. They aren’t honest and straightforward. They don’t provide you with the correct medication that is needed. This place is horrible please never take your pets here.
Decently priced. My dog got a cut. It was $252 to give a consultation, give my dog a few staples, and pain meds and antibiotics. They saw us right away, the wait was only a few mins. Consultation fee was $159. Very reasonable for emergency care
We had to say goodbye to our best friend and family member 2 days ago. Found out he suffered from a stroke. The doctor who evaluated him was very thorough and compassionate when explaining our options. When the decision was made in the best interest of our Chuy they took good care and very patient as we said our goodbyes.
I need people who are giving Blue Pearl low ratings to stop and think about how the vets and staff handle these situations. Can you imagine working on an ER but none of your patients can talk to you? Every single person here puts in hard, life-saving work. Yes, any ER is going to be expensive. Yes, it stinks having to pay a lot. But your pet should be considered a family member. I didn’t have the funds to help my dog but there are other helpful alternatives. Coral, Dr. Ficklin, and the front desk staff I associated with here are caring and incredibly helpful. Thank you all so much for the hard work you put in everyday to help save our babies.
Very impressed with our experience. We were referred to this hospital for liver shunt surgery by BluePearl Katy (see separate review), and every interaction was positive and gave us the reassurance that our puppy is in expert hands. Thank-you to Dr Ficklin and team for the amazing job you did, and for keeping us updated every step of the way as things progressed. Our puppy has been given a new lease (leash?) on life, and we are very grateful! Would highly recommend BluePearl - they really do care.
Blue Pearl saved my pup after a life threatening encounter with a much larger, aggressive dog on the evening of Easter Sunday. His jaw was broken in three places and he had muscular tears in his throat, chest and hips. They kept in touch with our personal vet throughout the process of multiple surgeries. His life was saved, quality of life restored and it was all done with compassion, dignity and support for all aspects of the experience. Highly recommended.
First, I want to say THANK YOU to the vet ( believe the vets name is Dr. Smith ) who saved my dogs life. Honestly, I did not believe he was going to survive. Shows just how amazing you are at your job, so I thank u very much. The reason for the 1 star is because the receptionist ( cant remember her name) was absolutely awful. When I started asking questions about my bill and trying to explain to her what the vet had told me the night before, she not only raised her voice at me, she called me a lier. On top of that it took over 5 hrs to get my dog discharged in order for me to transport him to my primary vet. I dont mind paying thousands at an emergency ER, its kind of expected but when u do pay almost $3,000 for 12 hrs of care you would think the receptionist would treat you with more respect then she did. I was also annoyed with the fact no one could ever show me an itemized bill not even at discharge. Its a shame that the receptionist i dealt with is the face of obviously a very talented veterinarian. Based on reading the reviews, whoever is in charge needs to look into all these issues that clearly more than one person is having with this facility.
I had to bring my two 2 year old cats to the ER due to them eating a Pavia Lily. They took them quickly and rushed the process to get the poison out of their systems. My babies had to stay for three days. They contacted me day and night with texts and pictures and the doctor called once a day and was very thorough and answered all my questions and concerns. I am 100% comfortable leaving my babies with them. They took great care of them and I was very impressed. This is my go to ER place for now on as the staff is awesome! Everyone has been so sweet! THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO!
During the terrible snow/ice storm phenomena that haunted our city a week ago, our family was thrust into a crises as Im sure many others were here in Houston, Texas area. Unfortunately, this was an extremely stressful time for my male Tabby cat.Having to have 4 sets of families all having to congregate in our home was quite overwhelming and I imagine for him as well. It was brought to my attention by a family member that Casey did not look well and he was appeared to be in a lot of pain. This awareness was noticed on the first clear weather day in which I knew would be challenging for him to get treatment in a time our city was in a state of recovery and confusion. After several different visits to vet hospitals near me that were either completely booked, long wait time or simply was not equipped to handle the apparent critical pet emergency I was faced with left me desperate to find help for my kitty.Fortunately, I was directed to Blue Pearl ER in Spring by a clinic technician from another facility that really felt Casey would benefit from the specialist that were known to have a reputation for having an amazing pet care emergency team. This was a 40 min. drive however but definetly willing to travel for this emergency. I called Blue Pearl while in route to inform the facility of my arrival and gave perinate info to the intake receptionist. I was then informed that my cat would be seen right away upon arrival. Once there, I was greeted and my Casey was taken in right away.End story, my Casey had a bad bladder UTI (blockage of the Urethra), brought on by stress more likely exacerbated by the weather crisis and had to have emergency surgery. Hes doing wonderful now and is back to being his chill, happy self!I want to thank a few of the staff members in hopes that they see this review. I would love to thank Dr. Megan Harris for her professionalism and compassion in my time of Caseys medical emergency. She gave very informative information regarding his condition and explained my options of treatment precisely. Knowing Casey was in her care was more than comforting to me a feeling I embraced. She and her staff saved his life!!I am a first time pet owner and I didnt realize how much I would appreciate having a competent and confident veterinary staff to care for my pet during a life and death emergency which is basically what this was. I am forever grateful...I would also like to thank Caseys technicians; Michelle and Leana who took great care of him during his recovery. The constant updates were very pleasing and the photos that were taken of my Casey while he was being cared for were a breath of fresh air. Great job team you guys are the greatest!
BluePearl Vet Hospital was wonderful with my puppy when she needed emergency care at 1am. They were very up front with the costs of each step and took amazing care of her. They updated me constantly, sent me pictures of her and also updated on financial status as well. They did ask for up front deposits, but were very clear with what was being used from the deposit and then I ended up getting quite a bit back. They saved my dogs life and I am so thankful for how wonderful they were.
We just left from putting our boy down. My first thought was to write a review because when we were on our way we read not so settling reviews below.Blue Pearl updated us almost every 30 minutes. They were forthcoming with prices and let us know the deposit of $400 before committing to anything. Dr. Harris was on the phone with me within 15 minutes telling me her prognosis. She was apologetic, informative, and patient. Many people forget that costs are high because this is an emergency vet clinic. This is a specialty clinic. We walked away with a semi-high bill including blood transfusions, x-rays, cremation, and many other costs. It could have been way worse. We are thankful for Blue Pearl and the vets. Thank you for letting my boy out of this world peacefully and with us by his side...and for loving on him HARD while we couldnt be with him.
BluePearl took great care of my doggo. Friendly staff and great service!
I rushed my chihuahua to their facility. She had been attacked and already passed. They tried so hard to bring her back. They worked on her for over 10 minutes and the doctor was so compassionate every time she spoke to me. We were devastated. The technician was so compassionate as well. My family and I were inconsolable but they did everything they could with professionalism and compassion. Thank you. My princess is in heaven but she will be sending little kisses to this facility and appreciates how fast and tender they handled our situation.
My pit was ran over late at night I rushed him here and they were super fast and had good communication with me throughout the process sadly I came back home alone but I feel super calm knowing that they tried their best and reassured me that it was the best Decision to end his suffering the vet made me feel really comfortable having to make that decision plus answering all questions and concerns she wasn’t pushy like the nurse was she let me have my last moments with my baby in peace thank you.
Very mixed experience.Yesterday our dog was attached by a neighbours dog and required prompt treatment. After phoning around, we managed to find this centre open and willing to assist. So we are very grateful indeed. However, after being called to say the pet was ready for collection, we were made to wait an age for the dog to be brought out, 1hr and 17mins to be accurate, despite calling 3 times. Now I appreciate our dog needed some fairly extensive stitch up work, but found the bill to be excessive. If we had a choice at the time we would have not gone, and we sincerely hope we never have to again.Just way too expensive and horrendous customer service.
The only compliant I have is that since our dog had to be put to sleep because of a prostate infection is that they put the catheter in incorrectly and we literally had to say goodbye to our baby boy twice. That was super bothersome even though they did apologize, it was unsettling.
BluePearl Spring has the most exceptional, caring and genuine staff in existence. Thank you for everything - your knowledge, your patience and attention to Crowley (and to me for that matter). You can really tell the front desk staff, the nurses, and doctors love their job and that they care about their patients. BluePearl was upfront and honest about the treatment for our cat after being attacked by dogs. We knew what to expect - good or bad, and BluePearl helped us along the way and did not pressure us into any decision.Thank you.
Reasonably priced and Doctor Dodd explained everything to us patiently and kindly before doing any procedures. Would definitely recommend to anyone. We came late at night and we received the best care for our cat Kyle. So impressed. Nothing bad I can say ! Front desk and receptionist were very kind and helpful.
I have nothing but great things to say about Blue Pearl. The staff is friendly and professional and really compassionate with the needs of my fur baby. The vets are awesome! I brought my chihuahua in for emergency treatment. I was treated with compassion and understanding through the whole situation. The vets explained everything that was happening as well as treatment plans. I was updated and notified immediately as changes happened.
My partner and I brought our, at the time, 8 week old kitten in for having ingested some infants ibuprofen. We were pretty stressed bringing her in, and it might have just been that worry making time drag by, but it felt like we were waiting in the parking lot with her in our car to be picked up (curbside assistance at the time due to quarantine) for a solid 15 or so min. Which is an okay amount of time, I guess, but we just wanted her taken in ASAP. Thats pretty much our only gripe with the place, though. Because we brought her in past 8PM on a Sunday night, and we even called later that same night around 11PM, and got to talk to a real person who was able to see our kitten and let us know exactly how she was doing/what the next step was. We got multiple calls a day to update us on her status, what the next steps were, and explanations for any questions we had; all the way up until she was discharged 3 days later. They were very kind over the phone and when they could see she was getting bored/still playful, so they even put a little toy in her area she was staying in to keep her happy.Yes, the price was up there, but seeing as it was an emergency situation, and our kitten had to have an IV drip alongside several medications, it was understandable. My partner and I are just lucky enough that we are in a good enough place in life to afford it. They do accept Care Credit, though!Overall, very satisfied with the care our kitten (Daisy Mae) received from this location, and while we hope we never have to come back, this place will be at the top of our list if we do.
We brought our dog there on the recommendation of our local vet. I called ahead and they came out curbside as soon as I got there and called that I was there. They promptly assessed her condition, gave me their initial thoughts, told me what tests they recommend and the costs, and asked how Id like to proceed. I gave them approval and we proceeded. Ill skip all the in between, but our dog did ultimately pass away, but not through any fault of these folks - it was just inevitable. Heres what matters: They were sincerely caring about us and our dog. The communication was outstanding. They sent us pictures of her in her little bed keeping us updated on her condition even during the night. When we went in to put her to sleep they were so sensitive and accommodating it shocked me. The young lady doing it was just wonderful and caring. Honestly I cant say enough good things about this place. Do they ask for at least partial payment up front? Yes they do. Thats not being insensitive, thats just business folks. I wasnt at all offended by that and appreciated it came with a detailed explanation and estimate of what the situation may lead to so I had some idea what I was signing up for before it was all spent. The communication was excellent and in that situation thats what really matters. Highly recommend these folks. Special thanks to Dr. Harris, Gerard, Melissa, and Susy for sending us updates with pics and updates and letting us know Millie was receiving such thorough and caring attention. Were heartbroken we lost Millie but are comforted knowing we took her to the right place and we did everything we could to save her. Thank you.
My French Bulldog needed BOAS surgery and I brought him to Dr Hinton for it. She was great as was the rest of the staff I spoke with. The anesthesia tech called me after the surgery to let me know he woke up well. Dr Hinton called me to give me details of what they did. He stayed overnight and called me in the morning with an update. I called a couple times with questions and they were always helpful. Overall I am very impressed with them, especially the surgeon! On another note, I used their emergency room for my other dog and they were fantastic. No issues at all!
Customer service… horrible!!Whoever is answering phone calls is condescending and lacks empathy. If you are calling a vet emergency clinic; something awful is going on with your pet, a kind spirit, thoughtfulness would mean a lot.The girl who answered the phone this morning (7/5/3021), and on Thursday is rude and heartless.Definitely do not want to take my baby somewhere like that!
After our 12 year old bichon frise had back to back seizures and was unresponsive (on a Sunday), we made the difficult decision to put her down. The employees at Blue Pearl were kind and thorough as we spoke on the phone and they told us what we could expect. When we arrived, we found the same level of compassion. The procedure was done quickly, the price was actually LESS than what we were quoted elsewhere, and we were on our way back home in no time. This is the hardest thing about being a pet owner, but I would highly recommend this hospital to anyone.
We took our cat in today because she was developing a reaction from some flea medicine which caused her to lose clumps of hair and develop a bald spot with red and pink mucus substance that seem to be incredibly itchy to her. Before they took her in, we warned them she doesn’t like strangers, so she may be on edge. They said no problem, you have to wait in the car, and they took her in. We got a call five minutes later saying they couldn’t even take her out of her carrier because she was “too stressed out and lunging at people through the carrier”. I offered to go in and grab her for them but they said no. I could be wrong, but I assume that if you’ve trained years to be a vet and you have assistance there to help you, you are supposed to have the experience to handle a small cat… Don’t tell me that 2 or 3 people couldn’t simply grab the cat and hold her down just to assess the area on her back—even briefly. Vets and anyone in a medical position are typically wearing protective gloves, but I guess it’s just too much effort. They told us they would have to sedate the cat for $200, and we told them we would not do that. It’s silly to me that they couldn’t just open the top of the carrier, they didn’t even have to take her out. You can see her wounded back from the top of the carrier once you open it. So, anyways, the vet just told us to monitor her eating and drinking and take her to another vet. They then charged us $160. I could’ve done that myself! When we asked them what the $160 was for, they said it was for the evaluation, when we explained there was no evaluation because they didn’t even open the carrier to even look at the cat, they said the advice given by the doctor was the $160. This place is clearly all about the money and didn’t care about my cat. We only went there because it was one of the closest 24 hour clinics in our vicinity. Never again.
They took my dead german shepherd puppy out through the back door in a black plastic bag and put him in my arms like he was trash. He didnt deserve that. My husband and i went through a lot of financial and emotional stress. The vet yelled at us for crying and the receptionist were not much better. Just avoid this place at all cost...
This is an incredible facility. They treated our puppy when she decided to chow down on some grass and needed surgery to have it removed. Our dog is not fantastic with new people but this was not a problem for the staff. They were so warm and welcoming. They kept us updated at every stage of her stay and treatment. Additionally they kept us informed of treatment options and costings associated with this. You do pay an upfront deposit for treatments, which is the low end of their estimates, but their estimates were reasonable and in our case almost exact for the treatment Jessie required. We cannot fault this facility. They are amazing. Nothing was too much trouble and they were more than happy to answer our questions and give us updates when we called, directly from the staff looking after our girl.We cannot thank you enough for all your help. We will be shouting your praises from the rooftops and we will be straight back should we ever need your help again in the future.
Came here after my dog got into it with a cat. I definitely recommend calling ahead to save time and to get an estimated wait time, especially due to their COVID precautions. You are not let inside the building so a nurse has to meet you outside after they get your info.I went early enough on a Sunday morning so I was seen within an hour. Wait time, exam, and treatment was about 3 hours. Luckily she didn’t need any stitches so exam and prescriptions (antibiotic and pain med) were around $200. All of the staff was kind and courteous.
* Follow me on my Google account for more reviews.I recently had a pet with a serious injury. We had to euthanized her at the end with all of the tests they did because she would be paralyzed forever with pain in her neck. They were very sincere and kind. Because of covid, pet owners are not allowed in the building. So we had to say our good byes to her outside by their employee exit. But I was just glad the staff stayed with my dog to the very end so she wouldnt felt alone.
I cant say enough about BluePearl and the care they have given my dogs. This is the second time I have almost lost a dog because of an autoimmune disease and the care they gave each one of them was second to none. This time it was my Standard Poodle, Justin who was bleeding profusely after chewing on a bone and breaking a tooth. I took him to my regular vet who found he had 0 platelets and needed to be rushed to emergency and there was no telling whether we would lose him or not. The doctors and nurses were incredible. Dr. Rumbaugh explained everything she was going to do to try to save him and she and Dr. Gardner stayed in touch with me constantly. Because of the covid, I couldnt visit so the nurses even sent pictures so I could see my baby. Every time I called they gave me a detailed update on how Justin was doing and even called and texted me in between my calls to them. By the second day they had Justins platelets up to 6000 and by the third day they were up to 20,500 and he was able to come home! We have a long road ahead but Justin is with me and thats all that matters. I hope I never need them but its the only place I would take my dogs to in an emergency.
My cat was on his way out, they did everything they could for him but his mind was already gone. The staff was so respectful and helpful, this could have been one of the worst experiences I’ve ever gone through but it wasn’t because I came here. Honestly, I won’t take any of my other pets anywhere else, why would I when the people here care as much about your loved one as you do? These people recognize and respect how much you love your pet, I’m very grateful to Megan and dr. Dodd. ❤️❤️❤️
Im desperate for help for one of my dogs & because I dont have the funds until the end of the week, the will no see my dog who is not eating, constantly vomiting, I have to help him up from the hind legs, but theyre refusing service due to lack of funds at the immediate time. No money, no service no matter how desperate you are.
Had a scare with my 4 yr old pit. Was dehydrated and had an issue with his stomach and Blue Pearl took good care of him. Hes home with us and improving by the hour! The wait on a weekend is frustrating but they did have a lot of critical animals come in so definitely wasnt their fault. Im glad theyre able to help everyone in a timely manner.
My dog got hit by a car 6 days ago and from my panicked phone call to today while I’m waiting for them to assess the wound; every, single staff member has been informed, patient, kind, and helpful. The vets that horrible evening thought we were going to have to do a full leg amputation to avoid major infection risk and full leg amputation. They were so kind and made me feel so much better and confident within the hour. The next morning the excellent surgeon who was supposed to call and tell me if they were amputating Monday or Tuesday said she was confident she could save his leg with just one surgery.Bc the intake staff did such a good job cleaning and treating wound the night before, inflammation was able to go down and the surgeon could take a better look and saw a lot of circulation in the tissue. We’re now back for the 2nd bandage change w the surgeon herself and before he came home I called to check on him overnight a couple times and the receptionist and vet techs were kind enough to email me pictures of him. They also have promptly sent Duke’s regular vet the paperwork after every procedure and visit before I get a chance to call and check (they will take over the bandage changing once the surgeon is happy with how his wound looks) which is very impressive to me considering how with their two receptionists they are constantly taking phone calls and having to put people on hold and are still able to take care of everyone in person.I hope they’re in business here forever... these are some pics the staff took time to email me to ease my mind.
Highly recommend blue pearl. The staff worked quickly and communicated excellently. My dog fell from a high up distance and landed on a hard area. We rushed her to blue pearl, the nearest open emergency vet from our location. We were told it would be up to a 3hr wait when we first arrived. We could see by the number of cars outside that they were obviously very busy. We ended up not having to wait long at all. A very sweet technician came to the car and took our dog inside. As soon as my dog was seen the vet called and gave me a very honest update and kindly suggested how we should handle the situation. I would recommend this place to anyone with a doggo who has an emergency.
I just had my pet in the hospital for 2 days. The communication was extremely poor. The first two doctors that I spoke with when I called to check on our pet was rude and to be honest really need to work on their bed side manners. I literally had to call to get any updates as the doctors or staff never called me to provide an updates even after I requested them. However, the real kicker is the financial office called me to go over the charges before ever hearing from a doctor. I dont mind paying but can we at least get an update on out pet first. I asked to talk with he hospital manger and never heard from anyone with the management team. I wouldnt recommend anyone to this hospital... It was my first and last time to visit them. Due to the lack of communication I cant help but to question the care of my pet.
The ER clinic here is EXCELLENT. Our English Bulldog began vomiting one evening and was in obvious distress. We are from Louisiana so we’re a bit spoiled with the ER and teaching hospital in Baton Rouge. Trust me when I say we are not easily impressed with vet facilities. Our baby required emergency surgery due to a blockage in her stomach and small intestine. Since then, we’ve been back for a similar condition with her. What this dog won’t eat! 😳EVERY time... the service and level of care has been superb. The technicians treat our baby like she’s their own. Lots of hugs, kisses, and soothing talk. The doctors are fantastic at diagnosing the problem and then explaining it in a way that is easy to understand. And the surgery team is beyond compare. We drive over 30 miles to get here (past another ER clinic) just to see this team whenever we have a sick pup. Cannot recommend highly enough.
DO NOT take your animal here, this location specifically in my experience I believe implement practices that prioritize making money over care of animals. Their animal critical care treatment and medicine/diagnostic capabilities do not meet my expectations for an animal that requires urgent critical care.I would recommend Texas A&M Animal Hospital, in my experience much more professional and critical care capabilities significantly better than BluePearl.Response to BluePearl feedback:I DID NOT decline treatment or diagnostic recommendations. I specifically asked your team over the weekend to provide me accelerated diagnostics solutions and treatment that your doctors recommended over the weekend and I was told BluePearl could not perform the services recommended until Monday (start of regular business week), Monday morning I was even told that at least one diagnostic test could not be performed until Tuesday. My service animal died on Monday while in BluePearl’s care.
SAVED MY DOG from future abdominal obstruction!! I had to bring my dog here as a referral from my primary vet. My dog swallowed a small teddy bear and through the endoscopy procedure, Dr. Schmidt was able to retrieve the toy from his stomach. I was happy to hear my dog was doing well and finally got that out without any issues! They did a great job laying out the process, our options, details on the procedure and costs. The facility is nice with a caring staff that took good care of my pet. It is PRICEY, so be prepared to spend a nice penny but it’s all worth it for my 4-legged best friend🙂🐕
I Took my dog in after he got into a fight with another dog.i Called Blue Pearl and told them ahead of time i was coming in and my dog was bleeding really bad. When we get there the tech comes walking out super slow no care what so ever. She takes him back and they call me 10 minutes later and ask me to call to check him in so they could start working on him even though he is continually bleeding in their office. Then they called back saying that he is going to need surgery it could range from $2,000 to $4,000 but wanted the $2,000 up front. I told them i couldn’t afford to do the surgery, they said “the body does Miraculous things but to understand without the surgery he could possibly die.” Made me feel like i was a horrible dog owner because i couldn’t pay for the surgery. We got there at 2:30pm finally at 6:30pm and $600 later they bring him out they wrapped his leg and sent me home with mediation. I took him to our local vet they unwrapped his leg, he is doing just fine going to make a full recovery. they were shocked Blue Pearl even mentioned surgery. They told me he did not need surgery at all, the wrap and medication was just fine. I feel like Blue pearl tried to take advantage of the situation and just wanted money. Absolutely horrible Never ever will i go back.
We were advised to bring our 2 yr old pit here after she came down with a fever and green nasal discharge, she had stopped eating and loss interest in doing anything even going outside. althought it was only two days I began seeing her ribs and back bone so I rushed her in. They met us at the door and took her in (covid protocol) and asked us to wait in the car so they could get our information. We waited 2 and a half hours in the parking lot before I decided to call and check on our pup. They told me the wait was because she was waiting to see a doctor but that the doctor was almost finished and would give me a call in a few short minutes. After about 45 more minutes she did indeed call, but only to tell me my dog wasnt sick at all, that she believed she had torn her ACL in her rear leg?!? After a short discussion, on the very unlikelyhood of an injury, the doctor suggested we could order some blood work. With the ubsurd diagnosis of a leg injury weighing on my mind and the 4 almost 5 hours of sitting in the parking lot we made a point to inform the staff we didnt want any further care given to our dog. Just the examination itself was $120. Right out the gate.so reluctantly we decided I would just being her home until our primary vet was open the next day and take her there. So when they brought out my Sadie bug I was told it would be $460! And when I asked for what? they informed me she was given iv fluids, pain killers, and an antibiotic. I was livid. I told them that I requested I didnt want them to do any of that because I wanted to take her to my primary vet so they took my dog. Told me I wasnt getting her back until I paid the $460! We immediately called police! They made them release the dog to us and we took her into our vet and within an hour she was diagnosed with distemper! They hospitalized her for 6 days and she passed away shortly after 5pm on April 2nd. And after we grieved the loss of our family member we received a bill from our primary vet for the 6 day stay and all medicines administered and it was only $379. I will never ever ever ever ever take or suggest ANYONE take their animal to Blue Pearl! How in the world is this vet licensed? I truly believe she is a FAKE. and trapping people into paying them excessive amounts of money by claiming she is keeping their pets if payment isnt made. Thats stealing peoples money. Had a real vet been there to evaluate my dog she would have seen the clear tall tell signs of distemper and given my dog a possibility of survival. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMAL HERE ! THEY WILL KILL THEM ! PLEASE!
When my puppy was 5 months old, he was diagnosed with a serious case of pneumonia. We were referred by our regular vet to this emergency hospital since they wouldnt be able to care for him since it was a weekend. We rushed to this hospital where a nurse saw us immediately. It was pretty busy so it took awhile for the doctor to arrive. When he did arrive, he told us that Bentley had a fever of 105 and had fluid in his lungs. Since he was just a puppy, he recommended aggressive treatment, giving us plenty of options at varying price points. He was very smart and informative, but his bedside table manners were lacking a bit, which I noticed when he casually mentioned that euthanasia would be the last choice. I think he couldve been a bit more sensitive about that, as I did not even think euthanasia was even an option at that point (the only reason I docked a star). Regardless, I opted for the most aggressive path, choosing to leave him there overnight for round-the-clock treatment. We were able to visit him at any time and the technicians caring for him were so sweet, giving us details of his update. Because of this hospital, my puppys recovery was AMAZING. We had expected him to require DAYS in the hospital because his condition was so serious and hes just a puppy, but he was able to come home after just ONE DAY. They were able to bring down his fever to normal and reduce the amount of liquid in his lungs. His mood and breathing went back to normal and we were SO relieved. Of course, this came at a hefty price tag, but that is expected at an emergency clinic and we are so grateful for what the staff at BluePearl did for our puppy. He is now healthy and happy again and we are so thankful! Thank you!
Very good Dr and service, but a little slow and pricey. Pricey is expected though for after hours service.
Brought my cat up here at midnight for an emergency and I was told that unless my animal wasn’t breathing or seizing up they couldn’t treat it???? I guess they do black magic here or something so do with that information what you will
After a week of being in and out of our primary vet, my dog, Crystal, had exceeded their testing and we both knew she wouldn’t make it without big help so they sent us here. I am SO glad they did! They wasted no time finding a diagnosis, Addison’s disease, and start aggressively treating her. Dr Ragland, Dr Gardner and Dr Stephens updated me multiple times a day, Maria and Heidy sent me pictures throughout the day and loved on her while she was receiving her treatment. Kendall called every morning to discuss cost and approve anything addition needed. Though it adds up QUICKLY, I found the prices incredibly reasonable considering it’s an emergency specialty clinic. I have absolutely zero complaints. I’m just so grateful for her team for taking care of her and loving her like their own when I couldn’t help her or be with her! Thank you!!!!
These people are miracle workers! Sweet Pea went into Pearl Blue Hospital with chronic kidney failure. After 4 days she is back home & back to her sweet self. I cannot express the gratitude I feel for the many Dr.s and nurses that took care of her. The phone calls on her progress was so appreciated. This awesome place with Awesome people. Thank you for all you did for my Sweet Pea. Sweet Pea loved all the loving and attention that yall have her. If I could give more stars, I would. Thank you, George & Sarah and Buddy Baker.
We were visiting relatives in Montgomery when our dog (our baby) suddenly became sick. We visited a nearby vet, that assessed Sadie. With her symptoms the next step was an ultrasound because they suspected a mass ruptured. We were given three animal hospitals to choose from. We felt very hesitant to go here based on reviews, but it was the closest one and we felt like it was urgent. So we took a chance, and as soon as we arrived we knew we were at the right place. They rushed and met us at the car and took Sadie back immediately. I wish I could remember the vets name because she was AMAZING in a tragic situation. She met with us immediately, let us know what tests they wanted to run. They brought her back to us in the room, so we could be together waiting for the results. Unfortunately, our little girl had an aggressive case of hemangiosarcoma that metastasized to several organs and we had to say good bye. The whole experience was the hardest thing I have ever went through and we were an absolute mess. But all of the staff was so great to work with and compassionate to what we were going through. The way the vet interacted with us, let us grieve, was patient, and caring was more than we would have even expected from our own vet. The cremation company they used provided us with the most beautiful wood carved box for our babys ashes along with some wildflower seeds, and a beautiful paw print! If we lived in the area we would not hesitate to trust Blue Pearl with our fur babies again!
The absolute worst vet care experiences I’ve ever had. They overcharge completely and lack sense to actually help. I brought my Pekingese to them so they could help his eye. He had gotten into a scuffle with another dog and his eye popped out of his socket. It was at night, they were the only place open. We waited for hours despite not many people being there. The total cost of the visit was well over $800, they examined him for 15 minutes and all they gave him was some eye drops. We took him to his normal vet the next morning and was told he should have had his eye decompressed to place back in the socket and they were surprised bluepearl hadn’t. The majority of vessels in his eye had bursted for having pressure for too long. His regular vet was able to save his eyeball, unfortunately he lost his vision completely in that eye.
I brought my dog Theodora in due to a car sickness that induced pneumonia earlier this week. After a few days of being under the care of Blue Pearl-Spring my girl is back home and resting. Beto, who i believe was a vet tech, was very thoughtful by asking if I had any questions and was sure to answer them. The nurses, Melissa and another night time nurse (didn’t get their name) did an amazing job at communicating with me throughout this experience through phone calls as well as sending pictures of my dog via text. I also could say without a doubt that the Doctors did an amazing job communicating with one another throughout the week in regards to my pup’s well being and status! Also big ups to receptionists for being so prompt in answering the phone when i called and never keeping me on a hold longer than a minute or so.Thank you Blue Pearl Staff for taking such great care of my girl!!!!! I deeply appreciate your hard work.
Came home from work to find my senior dog laying in the corner of a room lethargic, confused and his stomach was distended. We called ahead and were told to bring him right up by Chance. upon arriving after the 40 minute drive (Google showed this as the highest rated vet open at the time) we called once in a parking spot and we’re told “Well I can get you checked in over the phone but there is a four hour wait” If there was a four hour wait why wouldn’t you have told me that when I called? At this point all of the other vets had closed and we were forced to take our pup to a vet with only 2 stars to be seen. That vet seemed disinterested in our dog and was just going to put him in a kennel for the night and check him out in the morning. We decided to take our poor pup home where he passed away shortly after…What if you had told us about the wait and we were able to get him somewhere else where they could have helped him? We will never know because you failed to inform your customer of your wait times…Losing our pet is hard enough but not being able to help him because of your lack of communication is even more heartbreaking.
Patient staff. Honest and accommodating. Explained and answered all my questions. Went through all the options with me. Would recommend them for you and your pets needs.
My dog had an agitated paw due to nail growth into her paw. I couldnt clip it and my dog was in pain. Took her here and they had it done within 5 mins and didnt even charge me. They were amazing!! Thank you!
Terrible company. This is perfect example on how corporations ruin vet clinics. This company is sooo much about the money, they wont even pay their staff or doctors what they are owed. This is why they have high turnover. Do not try to get sympathy from this business. They dont care. Expect a bill in the $1000, even for minor problems. Unfortunately, this is where all the specialist go. The staff is bitter and unprofessional. You can pay for a $4,000 surgery there and when they release your dog they dont even go over things with you. this is what happens when you treat your staff poorly. You wind up going there to pay too much so that you can have rude people take care of your animal. There are many other emergency hospitals if you have a late night problem. Only go here if youre planning on doing an expensive surgery that requires a specialist. I truly believe that any positive feedback given to Blue Pearl is the corporation or employees themselves giving themselves a higher rating. Unless money is no object, 99% chance of leaving upset, angry, or feeling hopeless. Youve been warned.
We had to say goodbye to our boy Cutter. The staff and doctor was just wonderful in the way they handled the process of doing the necessary thing for our beloved family and neighborhood dog. It was a very difficult day for us. The staff handled it with such compassion and understanding. It was a sad day but they made it as good as it could be. Thank you.
Dr. Ficklin was so helpful! Our dog became lame in her hind legs and we were referred to Blue Pearl. They saw us the next day and treated our dog just like their own. Dr. Ficklin went above and beyond to learn the background of our dog and advise us on the best treatment plan. We will forever trust Blue Pearl with all our animals. Thank you Dr. Ficklin!
Our neighbors dog went for a check up and they were told it had parvo. Instead of trying the cure it they wanted to put it down!!! Luckily they took it to another clinic and now its parvo free. WOW
This people just pretend toBe nice . My dog got in to a fight with and other dog my daughters took him to this place they said they need it to do blood done and walnuts to close a wound? They said after that it will be between $ 1100 to 1500, !!!! When I told them no they refuse to close his wound and send him home after they charge my daughters 400.00 ..!!!!!
My doggy had to be put to rest today. This place charges too much for what they do.My dog was euthanized today and I brought my dog over from a different vet because I felt I would be best for my baby.I had my dog for 12 years and she deserved better.Bluepearl could not charge me fast enough. The communication was horrible and my situation was not handled with the best of care.I recommended to them that this is a hard situation for dog owners and that they should really try harder.I was not notified how she passed. I called in and had to ask. The dr. Did not speak to me and the receptionist is the person who told me she went peacefully but he never saw my dog pass. I did not ask how he knew because it will not help.I will wait and see how the rest of the process works out. I requested her ashes and an urn.To managemtn I would say.If you take care of people they will take care if you.
Blue Pearl has consistently provided excellent care for our pet, from emergency status through post-surgical 24-hour care. All doctors and staff members are highly qualified, knowledgeable, observant and caring. I highly recommend Blue Pearl for any pet in any situation.Dr. McFadden and Katelyn have been especially instrumental in the primary care and aftercare of our dog, Lou--so much so that Lou considers them to be extended family. They have also been very available for Q&A, even at times when the facility is extremely busy. I truly believe our Lou thrived so well because of Dr. McFadden, Katelyn, and many other staff members as a highly qualified collective. THANK YOU!!!
Dr. Smidt looked after my 6 mo old ragdoll kitten and did a great job explaining his condition and needed testing. Staff was great and very professional! I would highly recommend!
Called to try to get a pricing for stitches.Reception- “we don’t do estimates.”Me- “you can’t tell me how much it would cost for four stitches?”Reception- “we don’t do estimates”Me- “I’m just trying to figure out if it is going to be closer to $500 or $3000”Reception “I’m sorry.” Excuse us for trying to figure out how to get payment planned prior to coming in during a pandemic. Train your reception on average price for common emergency procedures. Luckily I was able to Google it and look on reviews to ballpark the cost, but reviews tell me Blue Pearl has inflated prices due to being an ER. There aren’t many 24 hour places around and it’s frustrating if some one has to drive 1.5 hours there and back in addition to waiting another hour to be seen. No one is looking for a locked in price, but average pricing would be nice.
We brought our pup here after being referred to this place by another emergency pet hospital. We called ahead of time because it was 1 hour and a half away from our home, and asked if they did dental work and asked for a ballpark on the price. The girl who answered couldn’t answer about the price but told us to bring our pup in anyway and that they could help. After arriving and trying to check in, we were informed that they did NOT do dental procedures. The receptionist showed no sympathy for the situation whatsoever, put us on hold and proceeded to hang up the phone not once, but twice! Not only were we already in a panic because of our baby, but to hear the unprofessional responses and lack of empathy that this facility met us with, was infuriating. The receptionist says she “tried to call us back” to inform us about this before arriving, but she didn’t try hard enough because her call never came through. We wasted almost 2 hours to be told that they couldn’t help after all when they knew ahead of time that we were headed their way and they knew the situation. We had to scramble to find another emergency pet hospital and drove another 45 minutes to get there. Highly unprofessional establishment and beyond rude staff. I wish I could give them 0 stars but unfortunately that’s not an option.
I took my dog there for a cut on its leg, the vet was nice, did his job trying to raise the cost as high as he could justify. When I didn’t want to buy their overpriced pills, I asked for a prescription to fill in a pet med store, the prescriptions were written for odd-milligram amounts and weren’t available anywhere. I think the vet knew that I would be ending up coming back there with the prescriptions. I came back the next day and asked the receptionist if she could fill the important scripts. She told me it would take 24 to 48 hrs to fill.I said I thought that was a long time. She talked about other pets ahead of us, irritated, I told her that my dog was here yesterday, and as far as getting her meds she was ahead of everybody. Another worker there admitted that corporate had scrips for them to read, and that was the script, I just said that I know that it doesn’t take that long, then I asked her why she would repeat something that wasn’t true, and ignorant. I know it embarrassed the second lady for what the other woman told me, it kind of made me upset, I told them that I made my living teaching corporations how not to have an image like this, my biggest customer was BP. training with millions of dollars over the years for disasters that eventually did come. The largest in us history. Offshore Horizons Macondo Well. I thought it was not only strange that someone would repeat something like that, but learning it was a corporate script I told them I felt sorry for them, that it made them look bad. Now they are sending out emails with prizes for for ratings, cash, hundreds of dollars. In the email I told them that they can’t buy a good rating. You can’t buy love from a dog either. When the tide moves against you like this, with a three rating on google, you’re not going to buy your way out of it. They get referrals from vets, I always bring whoever up-to-date on them when I hear the referral. One by one. This is tough, I’m not coming back. I asked to speak to the vet, I had the meds 30 minutes later, after all of that! They told me they were a family Vet. They were corporate to a fault. Steve Moore Spring Tx
I took my cat here since she had a life threatening condition but they were rude and cruel to us I heard alot of people say they keep loosing there pets and loosing alot of money and I had no choice but to take my cat home and try to nurture her back to normal I did not know if she would make it but she did. Please take my advice do not come here ever again.
Amazing staff who do great work. But if you are a busy professional, clear your day for drop offs and pick ups. Despite doing all paperwork digitally ahead of visit and paying before pick up....minimum 30 minutes each time. There has to be a better way.
My dog was thought to require emergency surgery due to her swallowing a bone. I was referred to Blue Pearl by my primary veterinarian, and despite the harrowing experience and uncertainty as to the condition of my pet, the staff were very kind and attended to her immediately. Dr. Harris was very knowledgeable and was able to offer a non-surgical solution that resulted in a very good outcome. Well, done and thank you very much.
We had to put our sweet Bella to sleep on a Sunday about 8pm. The staff was so sweet, caring and compassionate. They explained everything and were gentle and understanding. They after care they arranged was also top notch as we got our girls ashes back just days later! Thank you for taking such great care of us!
Today I called because my dog needed emergency surgery and we were sent to this location because their location in Katy sent us here. The lady who answered the was extremely rude and showed no sympathy for what we were going through. She didn’t even allow me to explain what was going on and kept cutting me off as I was speaking and then hung up the phone. Someone like this person should not be in this line of business!!! I hope you see this and understand and a bit of kindness could go a long way especially during these hard times.
I highly recommend them for any emergencies, my pup had a liver shunt which pretty much caused her liver to almost fail and we ended up having to put her down. Everyone was so nice and sincere. The doctor we saw was amazing and very helpful and honest which is what we wanted. Will definitely be back for any other emergencies I have
My Lab, Chief, almost 14 years old, collapsed on 9/3, and we took him to Blue Pearl. We couldnt go in because of Covid, but the staff was incredibly compassionate and professional in helping me over the phone, they took my calls immediately, and when we understood that the most humane decision was to put him down, they brought him outside for us and waited as long as we needed for my other son to drive in from College Station. Then the doctor, who had a 14 year old dog of her own, was more than kind enough to come outside and adminsiter the drugs while we were with him. He calmed down some as soon as he saw us, and under the circumstances, it was the best way that we could have handled such a sad event. I am more than impressed with how kind everyone was at Blue Pearl, and although I truly wish that you never have to go through something like this, the staff here will do everything they can to make it as painless and efficient as they can They were so very compassionate, and I want to thank them publicly for that.
My dogs eye was ruptured by another vet. We were sent to another very large emergency vet that provided no assistance at all. After hours of searching, Blue Pearl reached out to an ophthalmologist and coordinated communication at no charge. Their customer service was beyond any expectation and the employees were more than kind. Had Blue Pearl not been of assistance, my dog would have at minimum lost her eye. I cannot thank them enough.
Ive waited a month before I made this review. The staff was very nice and I really did not have to wait long. My issue is not with their efficiency, my issue is with the doctor telling me that we either need a $3,000 MRI which would result in needing a $7,000 surgery or we needed to put my dog down immediately. The told me she was paralyzed and would never walk again. No tests were run. I decided that I would take my dog home so we could say goodbye, but that evening we decided to get a second opinion the very next day and took our dog to Texas A&M. Not only was the diagnosis Blue Pearl made very wrong, but my dog has almost fully recovered after no medication and a month of crate rest. Dont be pressured by this vet to pay an astronomical fee and make rash decisions under pressure. I will tell everyone I know, do not take your beloved animal here.
I am so thankful for the blue pearl staff here. They were so nice & updated about my dog Ruth twice a day. It was a near death experience for Ruth & they helped her pull through. She is now with us & all happy! Thank y’all all so much❤️
Rushed my labradoodle here last night after realizing she ate a LOT of chocolate, the reception staff had me upset initially because I felt they were not treating this as an emergency (taking forever trying to look up the address and phone number of our normal vet which could have been done after she was taken back to see a vet) but once they induced vomiting they got about 3 pounds of chocolate out of her stomach and saved her life! They had a few other emergencies going on and the whole process was about 2 hours so it wasn’t an all night event. The price was so reasonable. It really does not cost more than our normal vet other than an ER cost of $150 which is just like taking a person to and ER so totally expected! If you have an emergency I definitely recommend taking your fur babies here!
My brother took his pitbull last night around 2 am & they didn’t even assist the dog because they were afraid of my brothers pitbull that was not even causing problems was just very sick
We visited 10/17/2020 with our Boxer who had been throwing up all day but suddenly started throwing up blood. They wanted me it was a 2-hour wait when I called. When we arrived (at 8 pm), the lot was marked with numbered spaces for cars so they could identify the patients. Almost every marked space was full.I called when we arrived and it took about 10 minutes (maybe less) for someone to come to our car to get Bella. The person on the phone had collected lots of information first and then the tech confirmed the information. They seemed to be working like a good team where everyone who interacted with us and Bella knew what was going on.We waited in the car for the doctor to do the initial examination. It was probably 8:45 when they called us to let us know what her exam revealed. They then told us it would take about another 30-45 minutes to give her shot, gather the medications, etc.We were allowed to leave during this time to run and get dinner. As we were returning, they were finishing up and ready to check out. We were done and had Bella back in our car before 10 pm.Additionally, we were urged to call them with any questions, which I did this morning (Sunday). They pulled up her record, were familiar with it and quickly got someone to answer my questions. To my surprise, they encouraged me to wait a few more hours before making a decision to bring her back in for more testing. I really expected them to tell me to just bring her back in.It was expensive, but not outrageous. They were kind, caring and compassionate.I hope I don’t need to go back, but if I need to, I could go back.
Very professional, helpful and wonderful staff. Made me feel very comfortable and didnt seem to try to steer me to unnecessaryprocedures to gouge my pocket book. Took great care of my little Lady. Thank you guys.
After spending $10,000 at this place, my dog is still not any better almost 2 weeks later. I understand he has a complicated disease (IMHA), but now that I have no more $ to give they don’t have any ideas to help me save him. Multiple tests were ran with all inconclusive or negative results. No one here seems to know what they are doing. Like they are just guessing and hoping for the best. Keep in mind that I was a registered vet tech for 9 years before becoming a nurse. With that being said, I feel that there are some things that I am more than qualified to perform in the comfort of my home. They would not help me at all. They now just want me to bring him back for another $800 to $1200 one night stay in the hospital is all they could recommend. Went to pick him up after an overnight stay this week and we were told that his PCV levels would be rechecked right before we were scheduled to pick him up at 6 pm. We arrived at 5:45 pm to pick him up and this is when we discover the IV catheter still in his leg and that the tech that brought him out knew nothing that was going on with him. Guess what!? The PCV level that was supposed to be done right before we picked him up was never done either. We finally left to come home at 8:30 pm that day. No one ever follows up with your pet or calls when pending lab results come back. It is the client’s responsibility to call to give updates or find out the lab results. You want to know when your pet needs to be checked again? You will spend at least 10 minutes on hold waiting to speak to someone each time or they will say that they have just gotten some critical patients in and that someone will call you back...well they NEVER call back....I have had to call back every time. They prescribed a medication for my pet that they didn’t have in stock so they gave me a paper script to find it somewhere else. I found it online at Chewy.com and then was told that they won’t approve meds to filled by Chewy. Waited 4 days to find this out. It took me 2 more days to try to locate someone who had the medication in stock but I was unsuccessful. I ended up having to pay for the smaller dosage (I needed the 136 mg in a qty of 30, but had to pay for 68 mg in a qty of 60) from them and was charged $338 for it when it was $105 on Chewy.com. I even tried to get this filled from another BluePearl location in Katy and was told one day that my paper scripts could be emailed to the Katy location for the medication to be filled and then a few days later was told that the Spring location would need to call the medication into the Katy location. After 3 attempts the Spring location never bothered to call in the medication to the Katy location so this is why I had to pay for the smaller dosage from the Spring location. That’s not even the best part....not even 24 hours later they advised me to stop the medication entirely. My suggestion, if you want your pet to live....GO SOMEWHERE ELSE...unless of course you have LIMITLESS $ TO SPEND!Update: We ended up having to put our dog down anyways. 😭
Friendly staff, clean place My Dog broke he’s leg contacted blue pearl. They said I needed a reference. So I took dog in to another clinic To confirm that my dogs leg was broken. Then blue pearl said earliest available date was a week away . I Got desperate. Took my dog to another clinic see if they can fix it. He said he couldn’t. That vet knew someone at blue pearl and got us in blue pearl the next day Every time blue pearl staff answer phone they pretend like they busy. They always says one moment and then just sit there doing nothing for a minute or 2 then get back to the client that called. I don’t know why they pretend to be busy when there not. Like making my dog wait a week to get him in with a broken leg. 4000$ later they did fix my dogs Leg.
Dr. Zachary Ragland is just an amazing doctor, he was so patience with us and very thorough with our sweet Stella, he definitely cared for her and made sure she was in the right hands of a doctor. Thank you so much! She is feeling much better. We’ll definitely be bringing her back with him.
This place is amazing. If I could give it 10 stars I would. My Cavalier King Charles, whom I love with all my heart, would not be snuggled up next to me right now if it werent for Dr Stone and the staff at Blue Pearl, Spring. The entire staff, from the receptionists to the nurses to the vets, projected a rare professionalism and skill, mixed with genuine compassion, which made me feel confident and at ease. They communicated with me every step of the way, not only what was going on with my dog, but associated costs and alternative less expensive options. After I left, I was kept informed of my dogs condition via telephone at any time I wished through the night, and Dr Stone even called me the next morning to update me. The discharge process was smooth and informative. I would not hesitate to return to Blue Pearl Vet.Other details to mention: we were seen immediately with no wait, the waiting room was attractive, comfortable and clean, privacy was respected, and despite it being a 24 hour emergency hospital, I didnt feel that the costs were any higher than at my regular vet.(As an RN with over 20 years experience, I must say that Dr Stone is one of the most brilliant, skilled and compassionate Drs I have ever met. I will always be grateful to him and the team at Blue Pearl for their quick diagnosis, treatment and care of my dog which saved his life. Thank you!)
I cannot thank Blue Pearl enough for the amazing care they gave my dog!! Even though they were slammed with so many emergency pets, they still took the time to listen to what exactly was going on with my dog. The vet also called me to explain everything, let me know the pros and cons of what my dog was going to go through with her recommended procedure, and was very positive. The front desk and technician were also very kind, and were great at answering any questions I had. I’m so glad my vet recommended y’all!
DO NOT GO TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM HERE! We took our pet to the emergency room here over the weekend on a Sat. night. There was an overnight vet working here, and she was the rudest one ever. Her name was Rumbaugh and I do not recommend her. She did absolutely nothing to help our pet. No medication or nothing. In the end we ended up paying $150 for nothing. Our dog came out the same way that she went in. Just a waste of money. I do not recommend this place, and if you can go somewhere else, then go there. Make this your last choice!
They always ask for a referral before they even get to answer any questions. I would recommend Garza Vet Clinic & Hospital. They wont ask you for any referral and will try to accommodate you if you have an emergency. Another fast service Hospital that is very reliable is Sunset Animal Hospital. Just leaving this for anyone that is in desperate need. I know its hard trying to find a reliable vet/animal hospital.
Unfortunately, we had to put our beloved dog down. However, BluePearl made this the most easy and comfortable experience. They went above and beyond to walk us through every step of the way and let me spend as much time with my dog before his final moments. They were also very comforting and sweet.
Im glad that others had a good experience here as I did not!! My dogs red cell count was at 8%. They stated she needed a blood transfusion which I wholeheartedly agreed. Of course the most important thing was to get a down payment of $1,600!! The next day they called stating her red cell level was up to 27% and she was doing much better but having a little trouble breathing. Although she had a heart murmur for a year, never has she been on oxygen. They said she needed to be in an oxygen chamber. After 2 days and another $2,000, I was told she was doing better, off oxygen and eating. I spoke to the nurse at 6 p.m. and she went over the meds they were sending Lulu home with. Upon arriving around 8 p.m., the nurse brought Lulu to me however my dog of many years had no clue who I was. She was confused. I immediately called the nurse back out and said, I did not feel comfortable taking her home as she was not in a good place and disoriented. She took her back into the hospital and they kept for another night. The next morning, Dr. Harris called me (very nonchalant) and said Lulu had a stroke and these things happen. Then said, its time! Long story short and $4,500 later, I had to put her down. WOW, you want to talk about a range of emotions. Wednesday night at 6 p.m. she was doing great and by 8 p.m. was terribly confused, the next morning a stroke and then gone!! Its taken me awhile to write this review. I keep thinking What If I would have continued seeking treatment elsewhere and never taken her to Blue Pearl. I was told by one vet I should go to Blue Pearl due to the diagnostic equipment they had . After an Ultrasound, they stated Lulu had no Cancer, heart issues, etc., but an autoimmune issue that was treatable. Not the case. I felt the most important thing to them was getting money. Im not the kind of person to sue but I can assure you I am weighing my options!!!
Rude, cold and no compassion. Great that there’s an emergency hospital... horrible that they don’t care and that their prices are sky high. Best wishes to anyone that loved their pets and need help saving them.
