I worked with Patrick and his team on my sisters office sale and everything was very professional from start to finish. Most dentists will complain of the commission but once you factor in the exposure you get from their database of clients and potential buyers then I feel it was worth it. The appraisal they came up with for the office was very fair and Patrick was very knowledgeable in all areas of the sale. Of course you can try to buy and sale on your own, but if you want to get the transaction done as quickly as possible with more buyers bidding on your practice, then I would definitely recommend McLerran & Associates.

When an opportunity becomes available in the future, I will again contact McLerrrean and Associates.
I heavily recommend against using this dental brokerage firm. Several years back I purchased an office through this brokerage with Patrick Johnston and it was handled very poorly. Mr. Johnston intentionally misrepresented many of the key facts of the transaction and the office’s metrics and almost embroiled me in a lawsuit with the seller, who himself is not exactly a paragon of honesty. The transaction was handled so poorly that even the seller himself cussed out Mr. Johnston; when your own representative cusses you out, I would imagine you have done something wrong.I would imagine that as a broker, you would want to paint what you sell honestly and not as a blatant money-grab. However, Mr. Johnston’s actions leave me with no doubt that all he was interested was to get the transaction done, get his commission, and move on, regardless of how the transaction was handled and the state of affairs between the two parties.Given my personal experience with this firm, I would strongly urge anyone to avoid using them. I am sure there are honest brokers out there, but McLerran & Associates is NOT one of them.
