I use uhauls for my moving company nearly every day and have been using this location for 2 years, ive seen 3 sets of management and Emily has really turned this place around. She runs things with militant organization and efficiency and the professionalism is through the roof. Great group of employees as well. good location

I’m not one to normally write reviews but I believe this place is under new management and I had such a great experience (after having a terrible experience here 2 years ago with different management) that I wanted to share. Was able to quickly pick up and drop off my truck rental and equipment without any issues or waiting. Everyone was friendly and seemed willing to help if needed. Definitely happy with my experience here

I was going to skip this place because of the many bad reviews, but Im glad I didnt. Their was a small issue with the truck being bone dry with oil, but was reimbursed for the oil I put into the truck. Had a good experience with the employees.

We just rented a large Uhaul from This location. Ricki was beyond helpful from the first time talking to her over the phone to turning the truck back in. She is friendly, professional and knows what she is doing. If you are looking to rent a truck and this location is close by, I highly recommend!!

This place might be able to rent trucks, but don’t waste your time trying to get trailer wiring installed. I’ve had two appts this week. 1st time drove over half hour to arrive and nobody there to install 7way and brake controller. Spoke with Manager and gave them benefit of rescheduling 2nd visit only to arrive today, waste over an hour to have the installer bring my keys back and say “bad news”...I don’t know how to do this. He could not find a video to show him he says. I will never go back to this poorly managed place again ! Trust me ....STAY AWAY

Had a good experience. Needed a truck quickly and had it in 30 mins from my phone call. Ended up needed to keep it for a few extra hours and they did not charge me through the nose for it. Both employees I spoke to were kind and professional. The truck was also fine and in good repair.

Customer service? A joke. Ease of access? Joke. Accommodations for customers? Also, a joke. This laughing stock of a company keeps getting worse and worse with every rental. If they didn’t have convenient locations (which never really work well), and front of the mind brand awareness, this company would be a dumpster fire. After multiple complaints filed with U-Haul, and no action ever being taken, I have lost hope for the company. If I had the resources and capital to start my own truck rental business, I would happily take a loss just to put U-Haul out of business so they could never give such an abhorrent service and customer experience. From the bottom of my heart, I sincerely hope that you realize how terribly your company is run before you put yourself out of business.

We booked a 15’ at 2pm. We was not seen until 3:30pm! We was waiting on someone to come. They said they would be back & took 45+ minutes to return. Very unprofessional! Worst uhaul experience. Don’t come if you’re worried about time. Wasted a hour plus just getting the uhaul.

I rented a truck online and requested an appliance dolly. When I got to the store, they didn’t have appliance dollies. When I asked why, I was told that “sometimes what’s shown online is not what it’s store” in a condescending tone, like I’m supposed to know that they may not have something available even though I booked it. I was still charged the price of the appliance dolly, even though I did not use it and was told the price would be adjusted. When I showed my frustration, I was laughed at by the employee. There were about 10 people in line and one person working. The employees were not wearing masks.When I returned the truck, I couldn’t even get into the parking lot because there were trucks lined up to the road.I was also 30 minutes late leaving the store because of the lack of the dolly and lack of service, cutting down my allotted moving time.Do not go to this store. Their lack of professionalism, masks, and overall customer service was absolutely reprehensible.

Would like to give negative stars but can’t. As I have seen already posted hours say 7am-7pm in Saturday’s we waited until 7:50 and no one was there. Myself and three other people were waiting on them. Ended up going to a different location and they were much better.

I am giving my experience 5 stars, but Id like to give them 6 or more. That morning we had been to several different rental sites with no success, we were moving on short notice. We arrived at the this location and were very pleased to see trucks everywhere. Even though it was VERY busy with customers and employees going in every direction, Karie Sims provided outstanding service and treated us like we were the only ones in the building. Her knowledge of the equipment and pricing, fees and holds was up front and straight forward. In fact all staff we encountered were courteous and polite. Upon return of the equipment, checkout was quick and easy, with no surprises. I highly recommend this location to anyone reading, and I will definitely send my friends and family. Thanks again.

Reserved a truck, went to go pick it up and it was actively out with someone else. Tried to get another one. One guy told me I could get it as soon as he inspected it, the other guy (rueben) got an attitude with me and told me I couldn’t get it. Terrible customer service

This location double books reservations then cancels your reservations to keep from paying the $50 reservation guarantee.I stood in line for 1 hour, checked in from my mobile and once I got to the counter the GM (Rueben I think) said my reservation was canceled. I called customer service with my concerns only to find out the GM canceled my reservation while I was standing there . But he lied and said my Reservation was canceled the night before but Customer Service confirmed that wasn’t true.Now I watched him help a customer in front of me find another location bc they had overbooked him & refunded him $50 but when it came to me he didn’t offer me any help or resolution possibly bc he didn’t want to keep paying the $50 or possibly bc I am Black and the previous customer wasn’t.

Ive used this location many times and have always been pleased. They accepted the trailer I rented in Atlanta without a problem. Theyve done some updating around the lot and it looks great. Its easy to get to with plenty of turn around room unlike some sites. Only issue is U-Haul itself which has a tendency to keep trucks well past their prime.

I had reservations about using this location because of the previous review. However, my experience was great. I made my reservation online. Pick up was very fast and efficient. The personnel was quite helpful and explained everything I needed to know. I would definitely use this location again and would recommend it to others.

Made a hitch install appointment 2 weeks ago and paid that day. Showed up right on time this morning. Dude behind the desk says I didnt think you would show up. Let me call my installer and have him come in. An HOUR later the installer arrives. Terrible service. Then when hitch is finally done, they didnt give me the receiver or ball. I had to go in the store and figure out which receiver and ball fit my vehicle. Finally another employee helped me get the parts sorted out.

I returned a one way truck rental to this location without a hitch. The employee I interacted with was super friendly and the process was quick. I was there in the evening so getting in and out wasnt a problem. I could see that being an issue at busy times and days.

Cindy was very helpful! The others who work here aren’t the most customer service oriented. Cindy on the other hand was very nice and helpful and definitely knows what it means to put the customer first. I always have terrible experiences when dealing with uhaul. They are known for terrible customer service, but Cindy definitely made up for it.

The worst uhaul experience I have ever had! Only go to Whitney Road if enjoy hassles and headaches. They will tell you they have no trucks to available even though the lot is brimming with trucks. Also, they will refuse to take a truck when there lot is flat empty. I’ve lived in Spartanburg for 30 years and have not had a worse experience from a local business.If you need a uhaul or need to drop one off, do what I do and make the drive to Woodruff. The owner there will go out of his way to make the customer happy.

After installing a trailer hitch on our vehicle, they did not reinstall the back bumper correctly, which left one side two inches higher than the other. When asked about it, they lied about getting prior permission for us to put the bumper back on like that. I will never go back to this establishment because of this unethical behavior.

This place was terrible. I had a hitch installed to my car, paid for the work and then left only to discover that they never gave me the ball assembly so I had to drive back out to get that. A few days later I was washing my car and noticed damage to my rear tail lights where they had to install the lighting kit. I went back to the shop again and showed the manager the damage. I was told to go get an estimate of damages to get it repaired. It was $1800.00 worth of damage to my car. Still fighting to get this problem fixed and my car repaired. would not recommend this place to anyone!!!!

This has been the absolute worse experience I have ever had with a Uhaul. When I first came inside this specific location, there was no one even there to help costumers. It was at least 7 people in line while the worker walked around the parking lot looking for a truck. Anyone could have walked out the store with whatever they wanted, if they wanted to. Just really not pleased with the service that they gave us. Really don’t recommend this Uhaul to anyone! USE BUDGET OR ANOTHER RENTAL PLACE!!

Went in and the computer was down. The reservation that I made online didnt show up. Thought I would be spending $20 as advertised. Ended up spending $90 after all of the additions. Only had the van 1 hour.

Everybody we met was super nice and helpful. It was our first time moving with a trailer and they were very accommodating and informative. Being noobs, we were probably a bit irritating with our lack of knowledge and experience, but they smiled through the whole thing.

Rented a uhaul from here on July 13, 2018 around 5 pm. I got maybe 15 miles down the road and it started running hot. I called and they gave me roadside assistance number and told me if I kept it longer than the expectant time then I would be charged extra. I called roadside assistance who took over 2 hours to come just to tell me he couldnt do anything and it would need to be towed back then left me. So called the place back and the lady said she called for a tow truck but cant find anyone to come get it. So now Im still stuck on the side of the road for more than 6 hours and its like they dont even care.

This was the most horrible customer service experience I have ever had. Uhaul has literally lost my business forever due to this specific location, and if I ever need to move again, I will use another rental agency such as Penske. To give a little background, I paid online for a one-way Uhaul rental from this location in Spartanburg to Waynesville, NC. The contract stated the price was 81 dollars for the truck, 10 dollars for a utility dolly, and about 10 for taxes. I paid 104 with my credit card and a confirmation email stated that my order was complete and paid for, and my truck would be ready for pickup the following morning. Per my online banking about 15 minutes later, my credit card showed a charge for the amount of 104. The next morning when I arrived, I was greeted by an employee who was clearly tweaking on meth. I am not going to give any details about this persons name or identifying information because I dont think that would be appropriate, but suffice to say I am trained and experienced in identifying individuals on drugs in my career field. Anyway, there was no How are you doing today? or any polite greeting of that nature, but instead a Do you need something!!? I said I am here to pick up a truck that I paid for yesterday, and she replied that she would have to check the computer about that.Fast forward 15 minutes after she finally got logged into the computer, she said, that will be 234 dollars, will that be cash or card? I assured her that I already paid the day before, my card had been charged, and not only that but the amount she was asking for wasnt even the correct charge anyway. In addition, the mileage which I had paid for (144 miles), had been reduced to 107 miles. The truck fee had increased nearly 100 dollars, and several other options were added that I had never asked for or paid for. She assured me that I was wrong and that my card could not have been charged, that it is customary to pay for the charges when you pick up the truck, despite the fact that I literally had a charge of 104 dollars showing on my bank account. After about 15 minutes of argument with her, she advised well I dont know what to tell you, you can call the call center but it will probably take 30-45 minutes, I will wait for you a little while unless it gets busy. Sorry, last time I checked, you are at work and you dont really have a choice to do your job. So I called the Uhaul call center, was greeted by a very friendly woman who was able to completely resolve the situation. She assured me that I did not need to pay any more money, my truck was good for the original 144 miles, and that she would have everything fixed in the computer. Thank God, I thought, I am finally going to escape this Hell that is the Uhaul at Whitney Rd. But was it over? Was I finally going to get out of this place? Nope, not yet. I went back over to the lady working and said the people at the call center said everything is taken care of. With a strong roll of the eyes and loud sigh, her reply was I hate those people!!, and the computer says you still owe 234 dollars. The next 30 minutes involved her calling her boss, who spoke to me and advised me that both myself and the call center were wrong, and that I still owed them the money. She called the call center, then her boss, then the call center spoke with her boss, and FINALLY, the call center convinced her and her boss that they were wrong, things were sorted out and everything was taken care of. I received my truck, a small utility dolly (not the larger appliance dolly that I actually paid for, but I didnt care, I was just ready to leave), and was finally able to be on my way. Two. Hours. Later. I was scheduled to pick up my truck at 11:30, but didnt leave until 1:30 because of this ordeal. I never write reviews. I buy a lot of products online and always get the emails asking me to review the product, but I always delete them. I am a very busy person and just dont have the time. This experience was special and deserving of a review. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!

Horrible expirience! We usually get budget bc we have used them before and had no issue but this time we chose U-Haul bc it was closer to us and it was a horrible experience. We regret it!!!!!The guy who helped my husband forgot to tell him to scan the Q code before dropping it off. My husband asked him if he just needed to drop off the key and the truck after closing hours the answer was yes. The guy never specify to my husband to scan anything. We return the truck around 9 pm the same day and we were charge for 2 days! After making so many phone calls and having to go back to the store to clarify the mistake, finally they agree on returning only a certain amount of the money since it was our fault. However, we were giving the wrong instructions. Next time, we will take our business somewhere else.

Let me start by saying Mr. Farr is an exceptional employee. He epitomizes world class customer service even in the face of overwhelming odds to do his job.Now let’s discuss Uhaul and this location. I arrived around 2 to get my rental. Upon arriving I could tell something wasn’t working right as the line of vehicles being returned was backed out on to Whitney Rd. making entry and exit very difficult. However I was still able to get my rental and leave within about 20mins of arrival. Now the truck I ended up renting was to small (not Uhaul’s fault) I decided to rent a trailer instead. Here’s where UHaul failed miserably when I returned to the location it was chaos with return vehicles. I counted over 12 vehicles in the return line. Mr Farr was by himself the gentleman who had been helping was off playing forklift operator with one man and ignoring the massive problem brewing at the rental return. Mr. Farr was working as hard as a person possibly could, but could only do so much. I was impressed how he kept his cool even with the impatient and rude customers. Today UHaul failed Mr. Farr because where was the store manger or anyone else that works at this location? I did hear some asssociates had quit and after seeing What Mr. Farr was put through today I can see why. Whoever is in charge of this location should be terminated because to leave your customers dealing with this chaos, and one of your associates shows your complete lack of understanding how to run a business. As for me picking up the trailer I rented it took an hour to get it because it was boxed in from all the returned moving trucks. I believe at minimum a refund should be issued to me and Mr. Farr should have a weekend paid vacation from UHaul for him and his family.

*****NOTICE WOULD BE RENTERS*****Up front the experience at this location wasnt too bad. It was Sunday morning and it was busier then I expected but I didnt wait long. I was moving that day and needed a 26ft truck, which i recieved. The truck was fine and did what I needed it to do. There was a separate location located in the same town roughly a few miles away that I was instructed I could return the truck at the discussed time. From there the estimated payment would be assessed to the same card that had already been ran for $105 as partial payment. The total was to be $176 ***THIS IS WHERE THE THE PROBLEM COMES IN*** 6 days ago I recieved notice that that my card had been ran for an additional $331 ! However it was Friday evening I would not be able to doing anything until Monday. So 3 days ago I go to the Whitney location to stress the importance of what happened. I was informed the Whitney store manager Justin was on vacation and would not be back until Wednesday. The young lady that helped me, printed a 2nd receipt that NOW reads the total amount of my purchase would be $401.. I was told that my contract was for an in town purchase. that by returning the truck at the location I was INSTRUCTED I could return it at I violated that and was charged extra ... I have since been told my purchase was going on a list of objections that were to be addressed yesterday, that I would be contacted this morning. I was not contacted rather i contacted the collections services this evening to find out the standing of my objections. It was then I was told I was Getting On Her Nerves .. I have now spoken with the secretary to the regional manager Doug.. Shes informed me the matter has not been taken lightly and I will surely be ((not accommodated)) but spoken to by a manager......This message was not for customers, this message was for whichever u-haul rep takes the time to read this. Your company physically exchanged my daughters daycare with a weeks worth of insulting statements while chasing my own tail. For my own money. Its disgusting and unethical. Not even sure if this is the right U Haul but out of gas on the side of 176 pine St in the pouring rain, an employee of here stopped and asked if I was ok. I had someone coming but he still offed to help. Thank you and yall should be proud, not many like him left.
