I live on the coast of SC. But, Im upstate SC to be trained how to handle my new service dog. My trainer took me to the Spartanburg location to pick up some essentials for my new girl. I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the store, the friendliness of the staff ... and their selection! There was an entire wall of dog beds!! (Something Ive not seen in a Charleston store.) I found a quality bed with memory foam and a cute washable denim cover. I can see more future trips to this location! I love their selection. You can see in my pic that my new girl took right to her new bed and big mermaid toy!
I drove 30 minutes to get here to buy crickets. They are ALWAYS out. Its a small thing but its all my pet eats, so it does matter. If you find yourself running out every single week... Order more. Whoever is doing the inventory here sucks. I wont be back. This location is useless.
Debbie is a great trainer. She has taught myself and my family ways to make our life easier as great dane owners. Out puppy Nova is learning more and more every class. Thanks Debbie

Staff have never necessarily been the best or most helpful or friendly. But they get the job done. The animals always look cared for and their cases/cages clean. The store is clean and organized nicely. Items are priced properly and inventory is usually full and tidy/organized. I love that they work with the Spartanburg Humane Society to get animals adopted. They almost always have adorable cats that are up for adoption with name tags and little bios on each. You can go in and check them out.
They have exactly the right balance. All the right products. Pet friendly, and nice associates. A tad expensive but they always have it.
Petsmarts are horrible places that breed their animals in factories as well as encouraging impulse buying and selling unsafe products for their animals
A lot of neat Betta fish there today. Didnt see a price list for them. Store seemed stocked. Cute kittens in the adoption area.
I really liked this place, I am not gonna lie I go check out the fish as soon as I walk in, no matter what I go to get. They was really nice and helpful I will coming back here for anything related in the future.

The pet smart in Spartanburg sc had all the aquariums marked way down
The store (blackstock rd) itself is great. Although the male employee in the aquatic section is rude. He treats customers like they are stupid and when I asked for a oranda fish he got agitated and took the net and knocked the decorations over and still got the wrong fish. Once he got the correct fish he was rough with him. Now after returning home and acclimating of course he died. So sad for the fish!
They hardly have any kind of medication for cats/kittens other than that love the store

Never has large crickets in stock. This is the closest pet store to me by 30 minutes. Really frustrating when every week I am told they are out. Today when I came they had them and I was told I couldnt have any because they are for the stores pets. How hard is it to order extra if you are always out?

They took are of all of my pets grooming needs. My dog is a regular here. He comes in looking homeless and comes out looking happy. They always do a fine job.

Theres a lot of competition for pet supplies and services these days and a few large nationwide pet stores competing but overall Id say petsmart has the best offering of services, selection and prices and is always a first choice for pet needs.
Very low on stock. Unorganized and with the very dark lighting, the store seems dirty and makes for a very dismal shopping experience.
Not anyone to help you find what you need. You have to hunt someone to direct you to what you need. I think they hide or not enough employees. They dont take the time to see if they have what you need is in stock in the back and has not been put on the shelf. Things a to expensive.
This is a great pet store. From a lot of inventory to awesome customer service, I would recommend shopping here over other pet stores in the area.
Went there to get a Kong harness for my 5 month old Cane Corso and the cashier was super helpful even held the leash while I fitted him

I placed an online order of a large bag of dog food for my daughter’s dog for Christmas. I wanted to make sure it would be easy for her to pick up. I verified that the pick up info was correct on the order and even called the store to verify what she needed to do. After arriving, she had to make 3 PHONE CALLS to the order pick up AND WAIT 45 MINUTES 😡 The order was brought out by an employee with AN AWFUL ATTITUDE!! We won’t make this mistake again. We’ll order from Amazon.

Took my dog to get groomed her Meghan O is amazing and has a special way with dogs she will be the only one to groom my dog.
This place has really went downhill bad. I went for freshwater fish and they didnt have what I wanted. The tanks were full of dead fish. The guy helping me didnt know what he was doing. I asked for a swordtail fish and he tried to sell me guppies. Very bad experience probably wont be back.
This place is great if you are not completely focused on buying just fish thus the experience is is ok, the sales representative was experienced and chill. They also sale pieces of moose antler as a dogs chew toy.
Nice staff, but the poor little baby rats in the glass cage (which is not what rats should be kept in because of their delicate respiratory systems) are not being fed a correct diet nor do they seem to be interacted with daily. Please god, do not sell rats! You are not taking care of them like the professional pet store youre supposed to be! I would happily adopt them if I knew 100% you would not just get 2 more to stuff in that little cage. Please, stop selling rats. You make genuine pet rat breeders like myself look bad and the poor rats are suffering in the process. Learn how to care for the animals in your store properly or just dont get them to begin with!

Set up an appointment a week ago to get my dog a small hair and nail trim. Came in to the hour of my appointment to find that I was not on the system, my appointment was not registered. Waited a whole week for nothing.

Fantastic customer service in the grooming salon. Id mis-classified my mutt to a more expensive grooming tier. They noticed, and instead of overcharging me like Petco did, they reclassified my dog to the appropriate tier. I will be having her grooming done exclusively at PetSmart from now on.

A few reasons I didnt give a 5 star rating is I wouldve like to saw reptiles in the several empty terrariums. This could have been a short due to demand, so Im not sure. Food for small reptiles seemed a little more expensive than some of the competition,but was in stock and convenient, I must say. Store seemed a little short handed as far as direct customer help too. All in all, a good experience. I will shop here in the future.
Prices are RAGING HIGH...Tractor Supply sells the same dog food twenty dollars cheaper for a 10lb bigger bag. Check me.

I went to Petsmart today to get dog food, shampoo, and a sweater for my fur baby. As I went in the store, the lady at the register said I need a mask on. I told her I cant wear a mask for medical reasons. She said it didnt matter. Very rude to me. So I told her I will NEVER step foot in the store again. Of ALL places to require a mask, a pet store! I will be ordering my fur babys stuff from Chewy from now on!
Grooming service was excellent, just wish they could let you pay in the grooming area.
This has to be the best Petsmart anywhere! The staff is always great, pleasant, and friendly. I am almost always greeted coming in the door. The managers have been exceptional, offering to call other stores to hold items that were sold out from locally. This store has been a weekly hang out for me and our kids for years to see the new animals.
We love this location. They keep a good supply of products and the staff is friendly and helpful.
The price was a bit much but all in all, if you need it, they have it.
Had my dog dog for an hour just to call me and say that he should be sedated for grooming.... this place has groomed my dog for 3 years....
This location actually had the prescription dog food that our pup needs. Other locations didnt sell it and online vendors were sold out.
Cashier I had tonight was superb and he was superb last time, very congenial and friendly. He goes above and beyond.

Their grooming service is great! I’ve brought my golden retriever 2 times to get washed and groomed. The workers there are very friendly and made sure my dog was taken care of. I have a very nervous dog and haven’t had a problem yet. Liv (who groomed my dog) was great and will definitely be scheduling with her again soon.
