My parents have this service. Internet works now and then. Typically only works for 10 minutes before going out again. They’ve been promised fiber since moving here 2 years ago hasn’t happened. Customer service is very unprofessional and sexist. “Sounds like it’s just not plugged in.” I’ve wasted a lot of my time trying to troubleshoot it for my parents with no success. Worst service I’ve ever dealt with. But the tech has been nice so there’s that.

I agree with the others mentioning connection issues at times, it seems to have improved a bit within the last few months. Their phone lines are basically worthless, they done have any sort of system to really manage a phone queue so you just have to call back often, and even then they don’t answer. They have responded better on Twitter about outages but frankly their customer service is bad in a similar but different way from big companies. They do have good prices, and besides some outages I haven’t had too many issues in the last year and a half of using them.

Municipal fiber network will always beat out Comcast or other bigname ISPs. So far speeds have been consistently fast, easy network setup, no need for any kind of modem or special rent-a-proprietary network device scheme, just plug and play. Had an issue with a bad PoE (power over ethernet device) and had a tech out to my house within an hour to fix/replace it. Fast, friendly service. Glad to never have to deal with CrapCast ever again.

Although we have had occasional outages, SFCN has had great customer service, and the techs have always been quick to respond and fix issues.

Third outage in 3 months. I’ve never experienced so many outages with any other ISP, especially at this rate. 3 outages, and I’ve used their internet for 4 months. Come on guys. Definitely switching this time. I understand some outages happen, but now it’s unreliable.EDIT: Internet came back on in 5 minutes in the third outage. I’m giving them another chance and editing the review. I seriously hope I do t experience another outage for at least a couple months!

Eh, I mean all internet and cable companies are terrible, but sfcn is definitely better to deal with than Comcast or xfinity. Internet is slow and spotty and the cable prices go up every year, but it is what it is.

Terrible customer service. I called when my internet went out and before even attempting to explain the issue to me, the guy started asking “does your husband know how to restart the router?” “When does your husband get home?” I hadn’t even mentioned a husband.

My original post is below (was at 2 stars). I was able to finally get a response from SFCN. They compensated me and apologized for their delayed responses. As a business owner and entrepreneur, I changed my rating due to them handling this correctly and professionally. Thanks.I have been having troubles with my internet for MONTHS. Goes in and out constantly....more out than in. Ive called several times, emailed. NOTHING. I was even trying to upgrade. No responses, no services....but theyll gladly take the monthly payment no problem.

Called in mid December of 2019 to upgrade to fiber, its now almost mid March of 2020 and still not installed. Constantly forced to call for updates, and hope that the representative has knowledge of the situation (sometimes one rep will have more information than another) they give windows of THREE WEEKS. Which would be fine if they actually met those windows. If theres issues, I would be understanding, but we are never updated on those issues. The internet is constantly cutting in and out. Pay for 60, typically get anywhere from 1-15, below 1 at some points. Our router is brand new, and I use a wired connection when testing internet speeds. At this point Im just hoping the upgrade will happen sometime this YEAR. If you can choose someone else, do it. Because unfortunately these guys dont have their process figured out just yet. Really hoping I can update my review once I see some improvement.UPDATE: Did eventually get fiber installed and the speeds are really good. Upped the amount of stars.

Fiber internet has helped alot, the ONLY things i dont like is the menu and you may need an extra remote for their channels. Its an additional remote for me and it cant be programmed to work with the nicer TVs such as the Samsung activated remote so having a nice modern TV is a bummer b/c my cable channels wont work with the nicer remote.

Mostly the service is awesome, speed and reliability is superb. However It can take a while to get an appointment and they might forget to bury their lines for a few weeks. Also some of their phone staff are a little less than professional. Overall you cant find anything better in the area.

Bad Internet speeds on Coax, i am still waiting for a reply or a fix for half the speed i get for paying the top tier, at first i was thinking my router was going crazy, then got a new one, mesh actually now 2, wifi signal is now better but the speeds are still bad, it has been a year and the last 3 month have been the worst, the only good thing is that we may get Fiber in a month, i will update this then, but sorry for the rest of you that cant get Fiber soon, make sure you pick something else or move to Provo!

Horrible customer service! I paid for the plus tier and my internet connection wasn’t working since the tech left and he just told me to follow the instructions on my router. I finally went out and bought an expensive router and my internet connect still comes and goes as it leaves. I called and they are unwilling to come because everything seems fine from their end and they charge a fee to come out and relocate, when they had said they didn’t. They are just lazy and don’t care if you get service from them or not. Please don’t waste your time, their technical support is horrible.

In the past 5 years they went from awesome to terrible. I have called multiple times and complained about the lack of speed I am getting and they just say sorry they wont fix it. I paid for the highest tier and was getting speeds with just the middle tier. I downgraded and now I am getting speeds of the lowest tier on average. Im in an established neighborhood so fiber wont be coming in for years. Their internet just keeps dropping in quality all the time. I dont know what happened over the last 2 years, but they now suck.

I pay for 100 mb download, and the speeds are VERY inconsistent. Most of the time I get 2-10 mb downloads and every time I call they tell me to record at what times during the day I get these slow speeds and Ive done that and reported my findings to them, but they still cant figure out how to fix it and again tell me to report what times during the day that I have this issue. ITS NOT CONSISTENT. FIX YOUR DAMN INTERNET OR REFUND OUR MONEY!

SLOW SLOW SLOW, I pay for the top tier w/coax 120 down. I will get between 12 and 60 down. 60 is rare. I have complained for about two years now. When I went down to 60M tier I got half of that. Customer service is non-existing.I pay for something I expect to get it. Not half of it.

Just dont do it! Ive lived here for 3 years and the internet loses connection at least a dozen times a day. New modem and router per the internet companies suggestion and our speeds are a little better, which wasnt the issue, but it still goes out all the time. No better options locally and I think they know that. No help from their end.

We live by the Springville and Spanish fork border and they are the only provider I can currently get. I have been paying for a 60 mbps package for almost 4 years and am fed up. It seems I am constantly resetting the modem, testing the speed, and cant even connect. And when it is working my speeds only averages around a 1.5 mbps. I am constantly having to use my mobile hotspot because their service is having issues. They really need to work on their system. If there was another provider I would switch in a heartbeat.

Slowest internet I have used since the good old days of dial up with AOL. We were paying for the 12mbps internet and we were getting around 0.5mbps. When I called to see what the deal was, they said that if I wanted faster internet, I could pay more for the higher tier. No thanks. Look elsewhere. This is another example of how a city/goverment should not run certain services. On top of that, they try to say that they have the best customer service... I have called multiple times and have only had them pick up once.I am sure this will end like the Provo fiber network did. They sold out to Google for $1 (since they realized they had no clue how to offer internet service) and then sneakily put all of the debt into a $5 charge in your utilities bill for the next 20 years.

If I could put -5 stars on it I would, but there is no option ... The internet is the worst that can exist. The city offers free internet for a month to attract new customers, but I dont think many will stay after trying the service they offer. At first I thought that the router had problems, but then I realized that it was not that, but that it was the internet. I cannot have more than two computers connected to the internet at the same time. I have a Nest and a garage door that are managed with internet, but unfortunately I cant use them remotely ... because they can never connect since the internet is the worst. Dont waste your time hiring and paying for an internet will only bring you headaches. More than sure that all the good reviews are from the same employees.
