His home database included many homes in our area of interest, and his in-depth knowledge of each home (i.e. builder, history of damage, etc.) really helped us narrow down our search to the best options. He worked around our busy schedules to make sure we saw each home we were interested in. When we found our dream home on his database, he quickly scheduled a viewing for us (even before the scheduled open house). He recommended fantastic lenders and inspectors as well. During escrow, he made sure we signed all the paperwork on time and was constantly keeping us updated on our progress towards closing. Darin was great when I initially spoke with him and he put me in touch with one of his senior agents Larry Hardy and he was an absolutely perfect match! Firstly, by coincidence he worked for the same organization as me (which I have no doubt Darin realized).Larry knew the area like the back of his hand, was ALWAYS accessible to answer questions and return phone calls while giving you informed honest feedback.Often when working with realtors you get a feeling theyre rushing you or arent as patient as youd like with your questions (I ask alot). Never once did Larry make us feel that way.And Larry always looked out for our best interests- he listened very carefully and remembered all of the details. When it came time to ask the key questions to the home builder or owner, you could tell he knew what he was doing and had your back. When it was time to negotiate, he was spot on.He made arrangements for referrals to contacts when asked for other side jobs as well including when we needed someone talented and reasonably priced to lay down the wood in a professional way right before our movers came.Larry was there every step of the way at the walk throughs, closing, etc. Once again- always there to remind you of key things to know and ask the right questions on your behalf.Even after the house closed, he was following up on us to check in to see how the move went, house was working out, etc.This is our fourth time buying or selling a home with a realtor with lots of experiences. Darin Davis Real Estate Group is complicit, if not actively involved in, assisting Landlords illegally withholding security deposits from their tenants in bad faith. Darin and Sidi Davis were initially very helpful with myself and my wife in finding a house to rent, and were very complimentary of our behavior as tenants throughout our entire lease term. We gave our notice of termination of the lease prior to 60 days before the end of the lease term in accordance with our lease agreement, at which point we expected Darin Davis Real Estate Group to put a sign in our yard and begin scheduling showings of the house. They did not do so until 23 days after the beginning of the 60 day window they were able to. At which point, Darin Davis personally reached out to me about what limitations we might have scheduling showings due to having a dog, to which I responded, Showing times when both my wife and I can be home to walk the dog would be best for us, to which he replied No Problem. We began getting requests to show the house from an automated service for days of the week and hours that would obviously not adhere to the conversation Darin and I had pertaining to our limitations on showing times. When a requested time did not work for us in accordance with my communication with Darin, I declined that particular time slot, knowing that the requester has the opportunity to reschedule their request and resubmit. The house was shown 7 times between when they put the sign in the front yard (23 days later than they shouldve), and I requested that 6 bad showing times be rescheduled in line with my written conversation with Darin. Come the end of the lease, the landlord sends me an email with Darin CCd that claims he is withholding the entirety of our security deposit on the grounds that it is entirely our fault that the house hadnt been relet, by rescheduling showings that would not work for my wife and myself in accordance with my communication with Darin. Had Darin had another conversation with me during the terms of the lease about needing to show the house more despite my previous request, I wouldve obliged, but the fact that he told me that it was No Problem to have limitations on when we could schedule showings and only has a problem with my resulting behavior AFTER the lease term is closed in order to withhold my entire security deposit on the grounds of lost rent is not only immoral, but illegal under Texas Property Code 92.109. What started off as a standard, even pleasant, business arrangement between my family and Darin Davis Real Estate Group has now devolved into having to file suits with the Justice of the Peace to seek what is rightfully ours, wasting more of my time and resources on a house that isnt on the same side of the metroplex as myself anymore. Do not use Darin Davis Real Estate Group to lease a home. It has been the biggest mistake Ive made in the past 10 years.
