These people really need their own website. Im trying to look up the specs and asking price of a duplex that they have listed, but all thats available are 3rd-party websites that only list Chandlers services- not what I need!
The apartments are cheap and thats the only thing they have going for them. The interiors are dated, at best. Old refrigerator units, old stoves, wallpaper that is falling off, obviously used carpet(found someone elses hair everywhere, it was a girls and I was informed, yep, previous tenant: female) There is no insulation, so power bill? Noise levels? You hear everything. During the ice storm, for over two weeks, the metal and concrete stairs had around inch or two of very slick ice coating the top. Not that big of a deal when in writing, but try climbing those with anything in your hand. And the bugs. The front door wasnt seated properly and so during the spring, countless BUGS crawled in to my apartment. I had to buy foam padding to try to keep them out but there were soooooooo many. Upon leaving, the landlord walked into my apartment while we were cleaning and claimed everyone always gets charged for carpet repairs and if ovens are dirty or bathrooms. This was before I moved out or finished cleaning. We left the place spotless, minus a carpet used from normal wear an tear and he automatically subtracted the items he had mentioned offhand. When this was brought up to him and I referenced him to Tenant Security Deposit Act, North Carolina General Statutes (NC GS 42-51) which told him that he was unable to charge me for those items, he called me to leave a semi-threatening message, saying he smelled something when he came in and should be charging me more. Either way, Id never rent from that property again. tl;dr: Bugs, Bad Insulation, No Mailbox on Property, Laundry Room is broken or dirty more often than not, Slumlord, Do Not Rent. If you do live there currently, remember to not let him charge you for carpets. It IS NOT automatic, despite his claims. The rent may be cheap, but the area has a lot of better rental options available for better prices. Shop around.
