My siblings and I (ages 17, 14, and 11) have been students at this school for several years now, and have seen through personal experience our development in martial arts as well as other life skills, such as discipline, focus, respect, attitude, confidence, teamwork, and leadership assets. The classmates and teachers are genuine and assuring, making sure that attendants of all ages are and feel included in activities we do. This classroom is a great place for learning basic and advanced techniques, judo (tripping, falling, rolling, etc.), sparring drills, self defense outside the class, and some skills in weaponry, not to mention the excellent exercise, discussions of life skills, and fun we love to have together in the class. The commitment is vast, but we can guarantee that a passionate student will receive much more than a few new belts from this school.

We absolutely love bringing our son to Master Hong. In the few months that weve been here weve noticed that our son has more focus and self discipline at home and at school. He loves coming here as well. Its great for his social development as well as his physical and mental development. We would definitely recommend others being their children here.

Terrible school, my kid went there for two years and still doesn’t know how to defend himself, also the owner offers to give your child stripes on his belt in exchange for a 5 star review on here. Master Hong is a fantastic teacher. We just started, only been going a month, but have learned so much already. When considering a path to help your kids in personal development, in areas not of your own expertise, Taekwondo is an excellent choice, and I dont know of anyone who chose it regretting it. Master Hong have already helped my kids develop holistically, in fitness, coordination, confidence, and appropriate behavior. Weve been part of the Family Tae Kwon Do program for 5 months. The teaching is based on authentic Korean methods, coupled with contemporary leadership skills development. This blend benefited both of my children live as their best selves. At Family Tae Kwon Do the Student Creed is respected and lived by everyone. The kids love going and being given a chance to stretch their muscles, as well as their horizons.

My 7 year old son has loved coming to class every week. He looks forward to coming every time. He has had consistent progress and always has a goal of achieving his next belt. My daughter and I have thoroughly enjoyed being a part of this school since Aug 2017. It has taught me and her to stay fit and healthy. Mr Hong is kind and friendly and knowledgeable in what he does, he encourages at every step of the way. The test experience was a positive one as well, very friendly and encouraging. Our family has had a great experience at Family Tae Kwon Do. I have two sons who take classes here. Each of them have gained a lot from it. We love this place! We have seen a significant change in our son since finding them at the kids career fair. Master Kwon runs an impressive class. Since attending our daughter has been more motivated to help around the house and she has done several chores without being reminded or asked, which is really impressive for a four year old. I’m disappointed. When we first signed up Master Hong missed to tell us the part where there’s extra money involved to get into leadership program & it also does not say on the contract. So we are already paying close to $300 a month for the basic program which all they teach the kids is probably about 10 moves. If I would of known I wasn’t getting the whole deal with this price I would of never signed the contract and went somewhere else. At first I was like wow this is great until I realized everyday is the same thing over and over and everytime new students come in they start all over from the beginning. My child doesn’t even want to go anymore because it’s just the same old stuff, my child is very interested in learning new things and someday become a black belt but This is seriously a rip off. If I can cancel the whole program I would in a heart beat but of course I can’t due to signing that contract. Once the contract is over I will definitely put him somewhere else where he will actually learn. The other thing I do not like is that Master Hong will always tell the kids if they do not join the leadership program they will never become a black belt. Oh AND most of these positive reviews you see are pretty much bought. He rewards you to put a positive review in exchange of extra strips to your child’s belt. This is just my honest review.

We have enjoyed this last year in which our son has been attending Family Tae Kwon Do in South Jordan. Master Hong is excellent, very professional, and personal to the kids in his classes, motivating them to improve not just in martial skills but in character and personal goals. Our son pays better attention in school, shows a greater respect to adults and peers and recognizes that the greatest desires/goals come with work and determination.

My daughter loves taking Tae Kwon Do in here, since she started the classes she has been more focus and disciplined not only at home but also at her school, the teacher is very nice and he focus not only on the physical aspect but also in helping the kids succeed in all aspects of their lives.

We are going on our third year at this school. I can imagine where my son would be without his taking TKD, and he wouldnt have near the amount of confidence or sense of responsibility that this program has given him! He had never shown much interest in exercise so it makes me happy that he has found something active that he enjoys :). He is gaining flexibility, balance, coordination, and skills which will help him for the rest of his life. He often gets to take a lead in helping the class, which has boosted his self-esteem tremendously, and he has made some great friendships along the way. The instructors are professional and focused but always friendly and encouraging. They usually do monthly activities that bring the kids together for good causes and for just plain fun. It really does begin to feel like family there.

Our son Cedric has oodles of energy and we needed to find him a good outlet. Family Tae Kwon Do has been perfect! The school has been great with my sons physical limitations, making sure that he is learning and not falling behind the other students. The life skills have been very helpful as well from a behavioral standpoint.

My family of 4 has been going to Family Tae Kwon Do since April of this year. We initially had our son join as he had a strong desire to do so, and we felt the self discipline and confidence gained from Tae Kwon Do would benefit him. The physical exercise we experience while in class far exceeds what we have have experienced previously using private trainers at a local gym, and is by far more fun. We are already seeing changes in our childrens mindsets, way of thinking, and physical capabilities. I look forward to riding this journey to black belt and beyond with my wife and kids. We found with place at my sons school where Master Hong was instructing his PE class, my son was so excited and could not stop talking about Master Hong. My daughter has been learning Tae Kwon Do at Master Hong’s place for about 5 months. She chose Tae Kwon Do over dance because she felt she gets more fun and discipline from it. Master Hong not only teaches the kids how to do Tae Kwon Do moves and defend themselves, but also teaches them to be more diligent by doing homework on their healthy eating habits and good behaviors (i.e. helping to do chores at home, be polite to others, book reading logs, etc.) and be more independent and self-disciplined. He also teaches the kids good etiquettes. I can see how my daughter improved too. She’s in better health, stronger and happier, helps out at home and treats everyone with respect. Overall, I feel this is a good investment for my daughter’s life. She now experiences what hard work can bring her.

Our son took classes here for almost two years and was very invested (he always showed up and gave it his all). My husband and I also attended with him for a large chunk of that time. We all enjoyed it for about a year but the cost started to wear on us adults. When out of the blue our son said he didn’t want to attend anymore and he wanted to try juijitsu we decided as a family to leave the program because we couldn’t afford both. What we pay monthly now for Brazilian juijitsu is a sixth of the monthly cost we paid at family taekwondo. Looking back, we should have known the price we were paying wasn’t aligning with our values when we were too embarrassed to tell our friends what we were paying there. While we respect Master Hong and generally like him as a person, we don’t believe the classes should cost as much as they did. We also think the pricing should be more transparent so you know it’s fair across the board and know what everyone else is paying, too (the way it’s currently done all feels a little misleading). Also, a lot of the kids there that were our son’s age didn’t seem to take it too seriously. Where he attends now, everyone is truly “in it to win it” with a team mentality and that’s ultimately what we wanted for him - to find likeminded “warrior kids” and we didn’t find that in Family taekwondo. It is also huge bonus for us that we can travel more as a family now because we still have funds left to do so. We are grateful for our time spent in the school but ultimately needed something different.

Family Tae Kwon Do is helping my 5 year learn focus, discipline, and confidence. They are wonderful with the kids and my son is learning a lot and enjoying the experience. Thanks Family Tae Kwon Do for the wonderful job you are doing with our children!!

My boy has been at Family Taekwondo for about one year now. Master Hong focuses on the basics of this traditional Korean style, while implementing positive life practice. Does well at keeping the kids interested and letting them have fun, all together with fitness, flexibility, and discipline. Its worth the time and money to have this positive influence and an instructor who is well experienced with effective teaching.

Family Tae Kwon Do is an excellent martial arts school. Master Hong is strict in a very kind and positive way. He focuses on the good and encourages his students to be their best self. Besides foot and hand techniques, classes cover responsibility, focus, manners, etc. My 7-year-old son has learned respect and discipline. Hes in excellent physical shape and pretty proud of his splits!

We really were excited about this place at first and we stuck with It for some time. We chose this place because of all of the wonderful reviews, well folks! Turns out those are basically bought!! Every now and then they run a special, they offer their students coupons for free uniforms and discounts for camps, in exchange for a 5 star review. Notice all the dates are the same? There is a reason for that. Anyways, these people increasingly got more and more disorganized. The training, which I was expecting to get better as the kids moved up in rank, never did. In fact, it got worse. They kept raising the prices on us and CONSTANTLY kept trying to bombard everyone with new ways to squeeze more money out of us. The main(there really is only one now) instructor is never clear with the children, is condescending to them and in no way builds up their confidence. My child came out of here having no clue how to defend themselves. The headmaster in nowhere to be seen anymore and even when he was there before, he was not involved in the class at all anymore and only sat at his desk on the computer. They do not communicate well with the parents at all and take no personal interest in the children. I have never seen a child fail a belt test when a few of them so very obviously should not be advancing. I think this cheapens the test and the belt system, its not fail to the child who doesnt know what they are doing yet, they end up out of their league(I have seen an older children with a much higher belts help with classes and not even know how to do what the little kids are working on), and its not fair to the children who are somehow(although I have no idea how) managing to figure out the moves and should be advancing. This place is way over priced for what you are getting for sure. There are other establishments with nicer facilities with better and more instructor for way more reasonable prices.

My son had complications with focus skills, listening, behavior, respect and self confidence. We were referred to Family Tae Kwon Do by my sons school.Master Hong has helped my son to believe in himself. He has shown more respect to everyone he meets. Master Hong is incredibly good with the kids. Its not just about the Tae Kwon Do, he teaches leadership as well. He is hands on with all the kids and truly cares that they progress.

I love how our son is learning patience and leadership skills. Master Hong has such patience with all these kids at all the levels. I would definitely recommend Master Hong!

After Master Hong was teaching P.E at my childrens school, he asked them to come in and break a board. After doing so, and hearing what the class offers, I decided to go ahead and give it a try. I really liked that they teach more than Tae Kwon Do.... they teach respect, responsibility, and to be kind and humble. I can see a difference in my kids. My 12 year old son and 10 year old daughter love it! We plan on continuing their training, until they earn their black belts. The school is great, the teachers, and students are nice, and we are looking forward to the upcoming events in October!!! Very exciting stuff. =D

Master Hong is great with the kids, and you can tell he sincerely cares about them. Our son especially enjoys the sparring class, and our younger daughter likes being in the Little Dragons class with games and skills geared to her level.

Our family has had a great experience with Family Tae Kwon Do. Master Hong is a great instructor and works well with the children. Our son has advanced steadily and learned many great skills. They teach great values as well as providing a great physical workout. Our son chose to have his last birthday party at Family Tae Kwon Do and it was a great experience with all of his friends and cousins commenting on how much they enjoyed it. I would definitely recommend Family Tae Know Do to everyone!

Family Tae Kwon Do has done an excellent job working with my 6 years old kid (Alain). He has learned about self discipline, respect, perseverance and many other important values. He likes to learn all kinds of kicks, he likes front kicks, round house kicks and jump kicks. He likes his teacher Miss Heath and Loves Master Hong. We highly recommend Family Tae Kwon Do.

My sons confidence has improved so much since he started coming to Family Tae Kwon Do, you can tell they really care about the children learning. Even if there happens to be kids of different ages in a class, over time they all end up being friends which makes this a family friendly culture to bring my son to.
