Ordered a cruise land package for Italy. Was canceled because of Covid. The promised vouchers for a future cruise. Never happened. The contacted us for a June 2021 sailings. We said set us up. They never contacted us back. It is now August We paid $5790.00 for this package and have nothing to show for it. Terrible company. Read the BBB about them. It is the same old complaint and stall tactic that they are now famous for.
I cannot get any answers from this company. I am to leave on a vacation October 5th. They tell me I owe them one more payment but refuse to get back to me. At this point, I am not sure if I am really going or not.I am afraid I made a big mistake.
They get 0. Check out the BBB on these people. They take your money and you never hear from them again. They will not return phone calls and they dont even make reservations. They put things on hold. I have a dispute in now trying to get my money back along with several other people.
Just got home from a fantastic trip with CruiseBuilder where we toured Italy and then cruised to Savona, Marseille, Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca & Palermo. It was a big group and it was tough to keep everything organized for that many people, but we managed to see a ton of things in a relatively short amount of time and we all had a great time. There were some hiccups along the way, due to external circumstances, weather, tour members being late, etc., but CruiseBuilder was good about addressing problems and adapting along the way. Very good customer service and great value for a once in a lifetime trip. Thanks, CruiseBuilder.
My wife and I did the May 8-18 Rome Temple and cruise. Overall, it was a great experience. We landed in Rome late and some of the other flights were late as well. Once we walked out of customs, the CruiseBuilder reps were waving at us. We got to the hotel and rested a bit. Because of some of the late flights, we didnt get out that night until about 6PM. We got to see a lot though but I did wish we had more time. The next day we had a lot of time to see the Colosseum and walk around the area, shop, eat lunch, etc. It was a lot of fun. Then it was off to the cruise. Costa was a nice cruise line. YES, the food is different. You are in Europe! We tried a lot of different things. Some we liked, some we didnt. We usually always ate lunch wherever we ported so we really only ate a light breakfast and then dinner on the ship...and lots of snacks. The excursions through Costa are cool because usually, at the end of the excursion, they showed you where a pick up point was for the ship that left every 20 min so you could either go back to the ship or get off the excursion bus and explore more. We did that at almost every port. We were able to shop, eat, and explore most of the ports on our own terms. CruiseBuilder did have a rep on the cruise which came in very handy when we had questions or problems. After the cruise, we were picked up and taken to the Vatican. It was CRAZY there. So many people! The Vatican was a little rushed too which I didnt like. I would have liked more time to look around. But we had to get to the temple which was TOTALLY worth it. We had plenty of time in the temple and on the temple grounds. The next day, it was back to the USA.We did get an email a couple weeks before the trip saying that we were undercharged. Apparently they didnt charge us for the temple tour or something along those lines. I dont remember how much but probably around $500 total. It wasnt a problem per se but I could see that being an issue for someone who was on a strict budget. And I would have liked to have had more time in Rome on the first night. Overall, they did a very good job of managing A LOT of people. I would use them again.
Do not even consider using this travel agency also known as Latterday Travel. They are unorganized, inconsistent with communication, and lie. They want Thousands more dollars to rebook the cruise we had canceled due to Covid that we had already completely paid for. They originally lied about not getting our airline refunds but we found the refund documents online showing they were refunded back in April. They don’t seem to be able to provide the services we paid for but are refusing to give us a refund and claim they can’t rebook the same trip with the money we already paid. They are a joke.
Booked the Rome Temple Tour and Mediterranean Cruise 12 day trip! Fabulous trip! It was well organized and took us places I didnt even know we were going to see! Well planned tours and wonderful tour guides! Met awesome and interesting people all along the way! Thank you!!
Do not use this company. Does not communicate and runs with your money. Cruise has been canceled by the cruise line. No call and no response to numerous emails about a refund. Purchased insurance at their recommendation, and they too are refusing to refund stating COVID-19 is a planned event and they dont refund if the cruise line cancels. Stay away from AIG Travel and Cruisebuilders. At this time we have disputed charges with our credit card company in hopes for a refund. If not, we will seek legal advice.
Contacted them several times but they refuse to refund the 13K$ we paid for the Glen Beck Cruise. Suppose to go in March, postponed. We cannot afford to loose that kind of money. They talk about their passion for customer satisfaction, I think not. Can you imagine the mayhems in cruising and bus tours. That’s not what we paid for.
Absolutely do not book with them. If your cruise/flights is canceled you will not get a refund or a voucher. Extremely hard to get a hold of. I’m so disappointed and will never use them again.
I have yet to actually go on my Rome/temple/cruise trip June 3-15. But so far I have no complaints. Ive had courteous reps answer my questions and concerns. Everyone has been helpful and friendly. Even if I havent gotten through by calling, my calls have been returned. This is a legit company and I am very happy with the price of our package. I hope to give Cruisebuilders a five star on return from our trip.
Worst experience of my life. Would go with 0 stars if possible. Just got home from Rome. Ten members of my family planned this trip clear last July. They booked me and my husband on another flight and when we finally drove to their “office”, because they don’t answer the phone, I was pretty much told that that’s the way it is and deal with it. Then me and my husband were booked on another bus from my family. It did get fixed. When we went to board Swiss Air, we were told they booked us on the cheapest flight that didn’t include luggage and we had to pay $60/per suitcase while others on this same trip, paying the same amount, got free luggage. When I got home and called them, it was just tough luck. The cruise was on Costa. Worst food ever. My husband and I were booked in a whole different restaurant than the rest of my family. The entertainment was really poor as well. I lost 9 pounds on a 10-day trip. I got acquainted with many other people who felt the same as me. Really poor company. Do not book with this company! My family has a whole new horror story being booked on another flight. Cruise Builders have lost the business of those who traveled with me. What an expensive, terrible experience.
Great company! The girl I spoke with was so nice and helpful. I will definitely be working with them again and referring my family and friends over as well.
Very courteous and professional. If I had questions, always return my call and emailed me.
I’m so mad they call me just before my Cruise of a life time. and wanted another $1,200 dollars for air fair. I had paid for the upgrade and it showed on the contract that there could be no deviation then tried to strong arm me into paying for their mistake.i will let everyone I know how dishonest this company is.
I am giving them a one rating only because there is not a zero. My wife and I booked a cruise with Glenn Beck and Bill OReilly for March 23rd thru April 6th originating in Italy. The cruise was cancelled and now they will not refund my $13,000 + ticket cost. This is nothing more than theft.I will file a lawsuit and get my money back. If you want to deal with a dishonest company then by all means use this one .
Rand in the office was so helpful with answering all the questions I had. Its my first cruise so I had a lot. He made sure I was well informed with the cruise. I am so looking forward to this cruise and would use this company again. Thank you Rand.
So far, I would have to agree with the previous comments. Worst customer service I have ever had, especially after spending so much money on a trip! I have called over 8x to get our name tags and they keep telling me they are in the mail? Pretty sure it doesnt take 4 weeks to get mail from Lehi to south Utah County! They messed up on our insurance when we booked. (that is a story in an of itself.) The only good rep we have ever talked to was Megan. She was kind, everyone else, not so much! Good grief is this is what is like before we leave I am PETRIFIED for our actual trip. Maybe it is time to cancel get our money back and go to Hawaii!
A great place that is very professional!! I look forward to continuing to work with them in the future. I will recommend them to everyone I know. Keep up the great work!!!
We did the Rome trip and Mediterranean cruise. Over all it was a fun vacation and were glad we did it. We loved touring with many like minded individuals and made many new friends. Initially we were frustrated because on the first day in Rome there was a mix-up with the buses and hotel so we didnt get to see as much of Rome as we were promised. But to make up for it cruise builder added an extended tour of the Vatican and we still made it to the temple so we were happy in the end.Make sure you know up front what is covered and what isnt. We were surprised when about 2 weeks before leaving they said we still needed to pay $295/person for the Rome/Temple portion of the trip even though a few weeks before that they said we didnt have a balance. We feel that the website and other documents that we received indicated that the Rome/Temple portions of the trip were included in the original price.
Giving a one star is an under statement for Costa Smeralda (will write a separate review) and Cruise Builders. A group of 12 in my party boarded the ship in Rome on 1/14/20 for a 7 day Mediterranean Cruise. No one on the ship speaks English and they were very rude. Our group was promised a few packages i.e. dining at 3 food venues, 3 or 5 free Gelatos and unlimited specialty coffees for booking with Cruise-Builders and we did not receive anything. We ended up getting stuck in Spain for 2 1/2 days due to bad weather and promised a $70.00 credit that we never received and when questioned why we were told they could not help us by a CruiseBulider Rep name Melvyn. I will say Melvyn did check on us a few times throughout the Cruise but he was limited to what he could do. During our booking CruiseBulider failed to inform us at each port people would be boarding and debarking the ship which caused a lot of confusion for guest that was already on the ship. Every time a new group boarded the ship safety training had to take place. During safety training all food venues and bars are closed since the crew members are needed for training. Our group also experienced people in our party accounts were linked and we were unable to access information due to the way CruiseBuilder set up the accounts. In Addition, during the booking process everyone in our group was not informed if you sign up for a Costa card you would receive a discount on specialty items during dinner. Terrible experience all around
We were disappointed with Cruise Builder. It seemed very unorganized from the very beginning. For example, from the time we landed to the time we got to our hotel room, it was three hours (the hotel was 20 minutes from the airport). In Florence, we didn’t get to see David because of tickets being sold out (😕). We spent hours on the buses, probably more time on the buses than actual touring spots. The cruise itself was good, but because of miscommunication between Costa Cruises and Cruise Builder, we were stuck with a $170.00 bill. I do not recommend CruiseBuilder nor Costa Cruises (their excursion folks were not the best).
I worked with our travel consultant, Rand, who did a fantastic job! He was polite, courteous and has a good sense of humor. My wife and I are looking forward to our cruise in the Mediterranean in November to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary! Ill be sure to write a follow up review on the ship, the Costa Magana, and how our travels to Rome, France and Spain go! For now, its been a 5 star experience!
Bottom line! I will never use Cruisebuilder again to book a trip. They booked my hotel stays on Expedia just a few days before leaving. We tried to cancel reservation because of a delayed flight and we couldn’t. Flight arrangements need improvement! We had to fly a day ahead and stay in a hotel (additional cost on each end of trip) so we could fly from Los Angeles, Toronto, Canada, then to Rome. Just try to reach them by phone. You never get a live voice and they never return calls. Our itinerary stated we would arrive in Rome at 11:30 am and then we would check in at the hotel and then go sightseeing. When we arrived the tour guide told us we had free time. Here we are in a hotel next to the airport in a new country and stuck at the hotel. We did take a taxi into town costing 70 Euros to get there and 48 to get back. Comparing our itineraries with other members of our group some of them were different but yet we were all together. I pay a travel agency to book my trip so I don’t have any mix- ups. This trip was very frustrating in many ways with the arrangements Cruisebuilder made.
Super user friendly and the staff answers all my questions when I call. Very reliable and convenient way to make travel plans.
I feel that it is my obligation to let people know NOT to book with this company! Use another company or do it by yourself. I booked a trip to Rome for my wife and I months in advance. We were promised tickets to go into the Colloseum, St Peters, and time in Pisa, Florence and Rome. To start out, our flights were a mess...they had me going into LA at 6am with a 9 hour layover before flying to Rome. LONG DAY to start out a trip. I ate the cost of the flight and booked my own flight to LA with a 3 hour layover. I then found out that some people actually were offered a direct flight from SLC! Whatever. Then when we got to Rome the whole itinerary got changed. We waited close to an hour at the airport for the tour bus. They said there had been some Confusion! 12 hour plane ride followed by confusion! Our day at the LDS Temple all of a sudden got changed to the end of the trip(we didn’t know this till we got on the road to Florence). Then a trip to a marble quarry got elongated to an absolutely miserable FULL DAY! We had to wait in the dust and dirt for over an hour for a Jeep tour to the top of the quarry. The quarry was actually pretty cool but it took all day when an hour or so was more than plenty. The ‘included’ lunch was aweful, especially considering they fed us a sack breakfast at 4 am then no lunch till 2:30. This day also included a 5 hour bus ride to the quarry at 4:30 am the morning following the all night flight over the ocean. My opinion is the quarry is a nice tour if you saw it in 1-2 hours and not with a bus load. I came to see Italy...not to wait and wait and wait for a terribly organized tour of a marble quarry. Because of the mismanagement of time we had no time for Pisa. Their solution to this was a 1 1/2 hour walk around Pisa the next morning at 7:30! Pisa doesn’t even get started till 9:30-10! We saw Pisa but nothing was open! Then a quick trip to Florence and back to Rome for a 2 hour window to walk to the Colliseum. No tickets to go inside so just walk by it. 2 hours at the Vatican and off to the cruise. Very little that was promised was delivered. Then off the cruise we got dropped off at a mall for 3 hours and then to the Temple for 3 hours. Flight home and done! Most people flew straight from Rome to LA but we were lucky enough to get booked on a flight through Chicago with a 6 hour layover and then to LA too late for a flight to Utah. So I had to shell out another $150 for a hotel at LAX and then home the following day.My wife and I had a GREAT time INSPITE of CruiseBuilders. They were very poor to say the least! The poor guides in Italy were uninformed and just left to try to keep us all happy through all the mess ups! Everyone on our bus that I talked to felt the exact same about the trip and we all promised to write a review to warn people but I am sure most of them will get home and get busy and never write it. That’s what CruiseBuilders hopes happens after each trip.I have done my duty to warn you to book through another company. BEWARE!!Dorne Hall
Hello, I am looking for reviews from people who have used Cruisebuilders and have already been on their cruise. Want to know about the whole process from start to finish, not just the initial reservation process. How was the cruise? Did Cruisebuilder deliver what they promised?Airfare, airlines, timing, hotel accomodations, cruise, departures, etc. Interested in booking a cruise but not enough information on this company to trust them. Thanks
Please note the 5 star reviews given by employees of this company and others who appear to be their family members. Ethan Gulbransen and Mariah Fox are both employees I spoke to on the telephone when I called Cruise Builders. And there are other reviews given by people with the last name Fox. Out of 20 reviews it would be highly unlikely that the other Fox reviewers would be unrelated to Mariah Fox.We returned last week from the worst nightmare of a trip that you could ever imagine. Seriously, the vacation of a lifetime to go and see the Rome temple, was a disaster. We traveled from Phoenix to Los Angeles where we were told that our flight from LA to London was cancelled. British Air booked us 7 hours later. Due to bad weather in London we couldn’t land and we missed our connection to Milan. We called Cruise Builders and were told that since our flight arrived right before the pick up in Milan and only half a mile away from where the Cruise Builders bus was picking up, we would be picked up at the airport. We were told wait at the taxi stand and look for someone holding a Cruise Builders sign.We were early arriving and waited out where we were told. And we waited some more. We tried to call Cruise Builders and see what we should do but it was nighttime in Utah so we had no luck. Our cruise left from Savona, over two hours away from us. We had to take a cab. 500 euros cash it cost ($600)We had no dinner reservations on the Costa Cruise ship, which we had booked and had confirmation that we had done so. When we indicated that Cruise Builders has confirmed our reservations, the Maitre ‘D said “Oh, THAT group”.The food was not what most cruises offer. My husband and I both lost weight on the cruise. And the entertainment was a joke. On par with an elementary school talent show. Except for an outstanding tenor who performed. He was good.Cruise Builders “forgot” to tell Costa Cruises that their entire tour group (about 150 people) needed to disembark in Rome, creating a huge problem getting back our passports. Our group was shorted the trip to the stone quarry and trip to Venice that the previous cruise group was given and we paid the same price. In fact, this goes back to when we originally booked our trip. When I first called Cruise Builders i was told that along with the cruise we would go to Rome and then Florence and that we would see the quarry that the Christus came from. I was then told that Cruise was full but my name would be put on a waiting list.A couple of hours later I was called back and told they had opened up new cruises which were identical to the ones I had tried to book earlier. So I booked two cruises, paid deposits and paid everything by the due date, expecting that we would get the same trip and experiences promised, like the earlier group did. We paid the same amount. We were given an entire hour and 15 minutes at the Rome temple. This was to include the walk from where the tour bus was parked, the video all watched prior to the tour, the tour itself and left next to no time to see the visitor’s center. We had no time to see the grounds. Everyone in the group begged to stay and our tour guide said no. We had to get to the mall. We spent more time at the mall than at the temple. Our excursions in Rome were unorganized. We were to see the Pantheon as a part of our Rome experience. Unfortunately, nobody checked the schedule and when we arrived the pantheon was closed to tours.During a dinner in Rome, a Cruise Builders representative pitched Rome temple necklaces and handkerchiefs. Quite a few of us attempted to purchase these items. Unfortunately, he didn’t have enough of the necklaces for everyone and “promised” he would return the next night during dinner and bring more. He never showed up. That’s how good the word of Cruise Builders reps happens to be.As we talked to others in our group, it was the unanimous opinion that none of us would EVER use Cruise Builders again.Last week we sent an email to Cruise Builders and I will update this review if they respond.
Mariah was great to work with. I have already given others her name for any up coming cruises
I can’t believe this has five stars!! I put a down payment on a European cruise over $2000 dollars with their company. (Out of Utah)after I became very uneasy with not hearing from them or seeing ANY official travel documents I messaged them telling them I wanted to cancel my reservation. They said I could only get $400 of my $2000. Ok, that super sucks but I’d rather loose $1600 than spend $10000 to find out if they are legit. Well this super reputable cough* customer service oriented company cough* still hasn’t even refunded that!!!! All my customer service contacts were sketchy DO NOT BOOK THROUGH THEM! Use a travel agent you know, site you trust, or book right through the cruise line!!!!!!
My father and his wife called to have me look at an amazing offer of a 7 day Mediterranean cruise with round trip airfare for a killer deal! I have never been on a cruise so was hesitant about it but they really wanted to go and wanted myself and my husband to go too so I looked into it. I have to say getting all the details, getting my questions answered in such a timely manner and customizing the final arrangements for some additional requests was a breeze thanks to Mariah at Cruisebuilders! I must have called a dozen times and she was always so patient and understanding. If the cruise is anything like working with Mariah, I know we will have a grand time! Thanks so much for helping us Mariah!
Mariah Fox was absolutely wonderful and helped me all the way through! Thank you Mariah!
Great people to work with. Check them out!
Great deals and great service, Booking a cruise can be complex so it’s nice to have someone to help with the entire process.
This company is a complete sham. Negligence is their motto. Having paid for a trip to Venice Italy months in advance they changed flights and connections the day if travel without any notifications. CAVEAT..... Avoid this company.
Best travel group there is.
Great, friendly service.
Amazing Company!
Amazing company!
