My kids love going to class here! I highly recommend to anyone searching for a professional yet fun and very clean environment for yourself and/or family to learn Karate/Martial Arts.

My children participate in the child classes and I participate in the adult classes. The entire organization is professional, accommodating and are great to train with. The attention to detail that the staff provides when you are learning new exercises and their ability to remember everyones name is astonishing. My kids love going here and I do as well. You can tell that the staff loves doing what they do and are passionate about delivering the best possible experience for you. They are the best.

Amazing staff and instructors!

My son and I have been taking karate classes here, and we couldnt be happier with our experience. All the instructors are excellent. Theyre knowledgeable, kind, and very supportive. We started as complete beginners, but the instructors and other students all made us feel welcome right away. This is a good place, and Id recommend South Elgin National Karate to anybody looking to improve their lives through martial arts.

Great place to bring your children to learn karate. I have tried the kickboxing classes which defiantly kick your butt. The staff is great with kids. They also are willing to work with special needs children which is a plus for me. Both my children enjoy coming here.

I’ve been going to National karate for almost 7 years, and I love it! It’s the place I go to to get in shape, blow off steam, meet new people, make new friends... Truthfully, everyone at National karate (the staff and the students) are like my second family. I highly recommend it to anyone who is considering joining!

Started out taking my son there over 5 years ago, there has been a world of difference with him since he began with the staff at National Karate, since then both my wife and i have began taking part in both Karate and the Krav Maga classes and i absolutely live it. The staff is awesome and Im in much better shape than I was when I started! If you are giving any thought to martial arts, just jump in at National Karate!

Joining National Karate was the best thing we did for our daughter. Her confidence has spiked! The instructors at National Karate are top notch and truly care about your children. So glad we walked into the Dojo 8 years ago.

Joining National Karate has been one of the best decisions of my life. I started about 10 years ago and I still have a great time to this day. National Karate has helped me grow into a more confident human being and a respectful one too. Getting a black belt is a huge achievement, but whats even better for me is the person I have become. At the South Elgin Location, Mr. Lance Flight, Mr.Drescher, and Master Nelson have helped me a lot both as a black belt and as a person. Best decision I ever made was choosing National Karate. The instructors and students have helped me so much durning my journey. It’s my second home as I am there all the time. It’s also a great workout and fun at the same time.

South Elgin National Karate has been and still is a great experience for my children & me. The staff is very kind and goes to great lengths to help their students anyway they can. Mr. Nelson, Mr. Flight, Mr. Drescher, and their team are very dedicated to provide their students with the best, positive experiences possible. They have helped my children build self-confidence, courage, and better perseverance. From an adults perspective, Ive been able to get great workouts in and learn excellent self-defense skills through the karate, kickboxing, and Krav Maga programs. The motivation from the instructors and friends you meet in class is phenomenal.Another great factor I like is how everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, at National Karate comes together and enjoys learning and teaching from one another. This is not just at the South Elgin location but at all the National Karate schools. My kids and I have been welcomed at the Bartlett and Elk Grove sites as well. Through our testings, we also get to learn from the other instructors from the Bartlett, Bloomingdale, Elk Grove, and Aurora sites. We are literally one big karate/kickboxing/Krav Maga family. Awesome instructors, very caring and in tune with the jitters of 1st time students.Mr dressher took a liking to our daughter from day one and got her from crying and intimidated to mastering the hammer fist at the first session.We unknowing showed up late for our 505 Monday class and before we packed up and walked out the staff insisted that we stick around for a private lesson as they were more than willing to make sure our child received the class mom and I messed up on in order not to disappoint our daughter.Best staff ever.Great institution even better staff

Very good people great for kids

I joined NK in South Elgin in 2012 for the adult kickboxing classes for fitness purposes only, and ended up joining the adult karate program. I loved it! Black belts started as White belts, they just never quit... this mantra on the wall of the studio was something I read to myself every class. With the training, support and encouragement of great partners, friends and the instructors, especially Mr. Flight, I earned my black belt in 2015!Today, both my 5 yr old daughter and 8 yr old son have been taking karate for a few years now and love it! Mr. Flight and Mr. Drescher, along with the other instructors, help the kids not only with the physical moves, but with understanding the importance of confidence, work ethic, respect, self-defense, standing up against bullies, Might for Right, etc. As a mom, I consider Karate a life skill that all kids should know. And, they have a ton of fun doing it!! Master Nelson and his team truly care about their students, and teach them the very best in themselves and their abilities. We love NK and recommend it to everyone!

National karate was first introduced to my family about 17 years ago with my oldest son. The instructors helped instill in him discipline, respect and focus among many other life skills. Since then not only myself but my two other sons have all been welcomed into the National Karate family. I personally have been attending the South Elgin NK location for the past year and a half. The instructors are very humble and dedicated to ensuring each student reaches their maximum potential. I have been pushed out of my comfort zone at times which has ultimately provided me with more confidence to accomplish my karate goals. Not only are karate, kickboxing, and krav maga fun but Im doing what I love while learning how to defend myself. An added bonus are all the friendships I have made throughout this experience! NK is truly a kick a** place that I am proud to say my family is apart of!

NK has been, and continues to be the most positive experience for my son since he began the program about 6 years ago. He has climbed up the ladder, earning his 2nd degree bb, enjoys the leadership program, and is now an assistant instructor. Staff is personable, and simply outstanding. NK is like a family, and has been such a gift for him...we will always be grateful.

Weve been going to NK since our boys were 4. Theyve learned self defence as well as self confidence, good sportsmanship and respect. The teachers really care about each child and you can tell the kids really look up to the teachers. We highly recommend NK!
