This place used to be great a couple of years ago. The service was great and I felt I could trust them. For some time already they have been changing personnel very often and the person I believe is the manager now is not always the kindest. Additionally, I dont feel I can trust them anymore. One day I brought my car and was told it needed something repaired that was gonna cost close to 600, but I told them I wanted to wait a little to fix it. 3 months later when I went to get an oil change they checked my car and said everything was fine. I was like WTH!!
Very through and great service. They gave me an estimate on future service that I need but didn’t pressure me. Great place and will go back.
I went here to get my lower control arm replaced. I dropped my car off at 8am on Saturday 7/18 and never got an update on anything. I called at 3pm to get an update and was told that I would also need my ball joint replaced as well as a realignment. I told the tech I needed my car that day because they were closed the next day and I had to work on that Monday morning. I was assured I would have it that day. I got the call to pick up my car and paid and drove off, the knocking sound that I had come in there for was not fixed. Im not sure how you can do a realignment and drive the car without hearing that knocking noise. I am unhappy with my service this time around. They usually take care of me but I dont know what happened this time around.
The ball joint and tire on the passenger side was replaced due to an accident. As usual they did a great job. Meineke is my go to repair and service place.
I went to this site for car emissions. The young man who was processing the cars through was amazing! He spoke to me and took care of me like I was the first car in line for the day. There were four cars in front of me and it was almost 11:00 so I’m positive he had more than 4 cars. For doing that over and over again, he made it seem as if I was his one and only customer! I went for an alignment here because discount tires sent me to this place after they put brand new drag race rims on my car. Got the alignment and noticed they’re scuffs and scratches on my brand new rims. Alignment was good but they’re not careful I got my rims scuffed the same day I put them on.

They did their job and were kind, BUT when my husband picked up our car he found that they didnt have care whit it because he found a big scratch line on my car door and other details that upset me a lot. That make us distrust the service. I already called them, and I am waiting for a good response. The BAD thing is that we didnt call them immediately, and the owner doubts of us : ( we are pretty sure that that happened in their hands.

Ive been coming to thos location for my emissions test and theyre always quick and efficient.Right now with covid restrictions still in place, they have it so you can just line up outside in your car, theyll take it in to the garage when its your turn, have you stand for a few minutes before youre back on your way.
Got my emissions test done here a couple weeks ago. this was so insanely simple, and WAY faster than your typical testing center.dont waste your time going anywhere else for emmissions. i was in and out in less than ten minutes. the only down side is you cant renew your registration here. but go to any currency exchange in the area and it is still so much faster and friendlier!!!Thanks guys!
The South Elgin location is very courteous. They got back to me with the repairs needed to the vehicle and repaired it quickly and at a reasonable price.
I had to get my brakes done ASAP. Easily scheduled the appointment online and was followed up with via phone call the day before the appointment. They did a great job with the brakes and their customer service is on point!
I came for the emissions testing. Theres no signs to where to leave your car but they told me to just leave it by the garage openings for them to drive in. There was not a line and the testing seems a lot faster than at an all emissions testing site. Definitely, love the idea of them having the testing done at this location.

Stopped through on my way from Chicago. I would have given this place 5 stars for how quickly and professionally the techs completed my oil change and emissions test. However, the manager was waking around inside the small office—where I was sitting waiting for my car— without a mask on. It was so uncomfortable and he seemed to be trying to make a point. He suggested I get an additional $300 worth of service(which I did agree with), but I was so upset I refused. I just wanted to be out of there.I don’t care what your personal beliefs are or if you are even fully vaccinated—if you are in a business in this state, follow the law and wear your mask.
The communication was very good. They were very honest and communicated each step. We will definitely be bringing our cars back for service when needed and will be referring friends and family to them as well.
The technicians are barely qualified. Hired them to replace a piece of flex pipe in my exhaust. 1000 miles later it falls off (picture attached). It was clamped when it should have been welded.You cant clamp a solid pipe, it must be welded. Only a pipe with slits cut into it can be clamped. Were talking about rigid stainless steel pipe, not plastic.Either they dont have the right tools (a welder), or they dont know how to use it, or when they should use it.Never going back.

Normally the gentleman thats at the register is really nice. Explains everything in detail. Super good experience. Although yesterday I had someone different. Totally bad experience. The gentleman was unfriendly. didnt want to explain anything. Told me I had several issues with my car some werent even documented. When I tried to get a better understanding I felt like I was bothering this guy.... he seemed put upon. Maybe just not a people person. I normally always go here for my oil changes. I will now be going elsewhere. Based of that one experience. Trying to overcharge for a service I found elsewhere for half the price. Learned my lesson.

I didnt want to get emissions testing done, who does? I went begrudgingly and then I saw him. He was polite but they all are at first. He promised me it would be easy and done fast and I got my guards up. Everyone lies and I was sure Ed would too. I was blown away when he came back in my beautiful black sedan with positive results. Heard from someone that you can get your emissions tested here so I decided to give it a try. Very fast service and passed with flying colors. I would reccomend it to anyone that doesnt want to wait forever at a testing center. Thanks!

Last week I had brought my car into a Mavis tire repair for a brake/tail light job. Waiting 5+ hours Not only did I recieve the car in worse condition and irresponsible employees taunting me but after taking it to meineke I learned that nothing was cleaned and my brake pads and rotors were so shaved down it was causing my front right wheel to grind and my back brakes to squeal and be almost non existent. Meineke not only fixed all of the damage they did it at a really good price. The man working the counter was extremely polite and clearly knew his craft well. Do not take your car to mavis if I could give meineke a 10 stars I would.
Ive only been to this Meineke to get emissions tests done and at that, they are excellent. No appointment required and you are in and out quick. Much better than going to the state testing facilities, in my opinion anyways.

Easy way to do emissions on fiancees car, I done need to since Im a diesel truck
I made an appointment for a wheel alignment at 10:15am. After dropping my car off, I was told it would take about an hour or so. When I hadnt heard back after 2 hrs, I decided to walk back to inquire. I noticed that my car appeared to still be in the spot where I had originally parked it. When I asked about the status of my car, I was told that my car would be up next. Up next? It had been 2 hrs and they hadnt even looked at my car. Meanwhile, there was a steady stream of other cars coming in and out getting emissions tested. Shortly after I had shared my frustration, my car finally went in to be serviced. Not very long after, I was told that they had only aligned the front wheels, as the bolts were seized up in the back and would have to be special-ordered. When I asked how much that would be, I was told that it shouldnt be more than $250-$275. I was still charged $100 for them to only align the front. I was quickly given my keys back and told to sign and pay, as if to usher me out. Not once was I asked if I actually wanted them to align the rear wheels. As I understand it, when you take your car in for a wheel alignment, you cannot just have either the front or rear aligned, you have to pay for both. So, effectively, Ive now wasted $100 on service that would eventually have to be completely redone.

I went for the Illinois Clean Air testing. With the changes in protocol needed to protect all of us I expected things to be chaos, it was not. There was a longer than normal line for testing but it went faster than I had hoped. The Technician was efficient and courteous making the process easy and safe. Thank you Meineke!!!

This was the worst car care center of my life. I will not be recommending to anyone. In fact, Ill make sure I tell people not to come here. The staff was absolutely terrible liars just trying to make money. I had a brand new car for Uber eats inspection, and they wanted to pretend like there was so much wrong with it. First of all, Im the only one in the car driving for Uber eats so its not that serious. I still had to pay for the inspection, will not be continuing with uber eats because of this set back, waste of time and money. I will definitely be writing to the above authority. They also lied about how much it would take to fix the break on this brand new car because I asked my regular car repair place and they said $320 compared to this terrible place that tried telling me $800. I wish the worst for this place and mechanics like this that make things up for money. Its sad. I would like a refund for the waste of time and lies.

ABSOLUTELY AWFUL, I had an appointment at 11:30 . They were supposed to call with an estimate. I called at 2 becauseI had never receiveda call ( they close at 4) . Then I drove back there 10 minutes before closing ( because I was never told it was done ) and they informed me the didnt have the brakes for my car ! They never called me ! Then are closed on sunday . I had to pay 70.00 for an uber because I had no way of getting to work Monday and thats when my car would be finished! They charged me 670.00 for front and back brakes and rotors. I was a mechanic a good part of my life parts were about 300. So they kindly gave me 100.00 off my bill ( 70.00 uber?). I also asked for an estimate on another part that needed fixed was given no estimate for that . DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!! ABSOLUTELY AWFUL!!!

I had a muffler cover hanging from my muffler. It was dragging on the ground. They took it off for me right away and without charging me! Who does that anymore? Very thankful. I will definitely go back.

Arrived at Meineke without an appointment and were told there was an hour wait. The staff was very friendly and moved quickly to help everyone get out of there quickly. Our hour wait turned out to be 15 minutes. We were in and out in about an hour with our emission test and oil change done. Plus this location takes coupons from their online website. Incredibly happy with our visit. Will definitely come again.
Went here right after they opened. Great job handling the amount of cars that were waiting! They had a nice little system set up to get you in and out rather quickly. I was told over the phone the wait would be about saying an hour and a half to two hours but I was in and out within thirty minutes! Awesome job!

I went to Meineke to have my shocks and struts inspected. I was greeted upon walking in the door. I was helped the immediately. My car was checked and it didn’t need any work. They informed me that my undercover was loose. They didn’t try to sell me anything that wasn’t needed. They were quick and very professional. I love an honest mechanic. When the time comes and really do need the work, I’ll definitely bring the car back here.
I visited Menezes Car Center located on Sundown Rd in So.Elgin as they now do IL Emissions Testing. So much better than driving to Schaumburg. They were profession, fast & efficient. I recommend it!

I brought my car a last Saturday for oil change and emissions test. They where very courteous to check a few things by the way for free. I didn’t know that my car has the two rear couls spring completely broken. Thank didn’t realize that I’m going to get my car fixed on Saturday, Scot was very helpful and by 4pm all was good to be on the toad safely again.Thanks again.
Not good. Waited in line on the street in my car for over 30 minutes. They werent even letting people in the parking lot. Not 1 car moved the entire time I was there. I finally left. There are other places for service. Going first thing in the morning is not a good idea. It might be better later in the day, I wont know as I wont be back.
In the past I’ve had good experiences with Meineke in South Elgin. Heather is also very personable, friendly, she had the papers ready to go and made sure the coupon was applied. Very satisfied with their work! I would definitely recommend this Meineke!

I got here and the line for emissions testing was out the driveway and onto the road. My fault for waiting until the end of the month. But I was surprised at how quickly it moved! The girl doing the emissions tests literally had every car in and out in less than 5 minutes. I came to this Meineke for emissions testing. They were very fast and professional. I decided to get my oil changed since it was past due as well, and they were able to get my car in right away and take care of it. I had no appointment and was in and out in under 30 minutes for everything. I will definitely return here when I need more work done on my vehicles.
