I have loved being a patient of my doctor at Lifestance in Snellville and haven’t had any issues until lately because they do not pick up the phone! I called another location and they were able to assist me. I actually called two and one even called me back after missing my call. I don’t know what’s going on but it would be nice to be able to reach the location where my doctor practices.

There are some Drs who are not worthy of being in this business. I will only use Karen. She is the reason for 4 stars. I havent had issues with the staff. If Karen leaves, I leave. I’m disappointed as this is the second time this particular company has gone through buyouts or mangament changes, I’ve gone through 3 different providers because they keep leaving the company and I never get any sort of communication regarding these changes resulting in delays in appointments, waiting longer for prescriptions to be fulfilled. Having to restart every few months is disheartening at best, when speaking to my new provider she was essentially kind but everything seemed scripted “get them in get them out, stick to this script” in the past my experiences have felt way more personal and whatever this new business practice is does not make me want to continue being a patient at this BUSINESS.

This practice is the most unprofessional of them all. I have been a patient for 4 years and watched as this place has switched corporate hands over the years and steadily decline into the sorry excuse of a practice it is today. I have been told I did not pay when I did multiple times to the point I had to start saving receipts to make sure they did not try and tell me I have a balance on my account from previous visits. Then I cant even count the number of times I have had to sit on hold after requesting a refill just for the request to sit on the doctors desk for 10 plus days. To top it off the anxiety medication which I have been prescribed for 4 years and has helped me tremendously is all the sudden not suitable or safe for long term use when I have had 3 doctors prescribe it to me from Georgia behavioral health before it was bought out by life stance. Today I look on my account and what is normally a 50$ visit cost 225$. Was charged 100$ for some reason and then 125$ for a no show fee when the doctor had me waiting for 45 minutes after my appointment time and I could not step away from work to do the telehealth appointment. I then rescheduled and was warned not to miss again or I would be charged a no show but I was 10 minutes early on the app and met with my doctor and still charged a no show fee. Also when appointments were in person I am told that I have a balance on my account from an appointment that was 6 months ago that I did in fact pay and had been able to come in for 2 appointments before anything was mentioned. This happened twice and was told I need to start saving my receipts. I replied NOOO yall need to do your job and quit scamming people out of money. So over it and im just trying to save anyone else from the headache of dealing with these overpaid drug dealers.UPDATE: when you go to copy and paste the email address provided in their response below I receive this message attached in the photo. Its almost comical at this point and Im going to assume they are incapable of even spelling their own email address right so ill just have fill in the blanks for them.

I had been seeing Dr. Melieste for about 2 years and he was very kind and understanding and then this company came in and all the doctors that was at Georgia Behavioral are now gone. My new doctor that I was given was Dr Esther. According to Dr. Esther, an EKG would be needed in order for her to prescribe the medication that I have been on for years. I gave her two EKGs that were 6 months apart and both had no issues. My heart Doctor gave me a series of tests 6 months pryer and there were no problems. My third visit with Dr. Esther after I had sent her my EKG, she said that she could no longer give me my medication because my EKG did not look good. My doctor has always told me that my EKG looked great and I had nothing to worry about. With her dropping me off my medication and not even wanting to slowly cut back, she has put me in difficult situation and Im sure this will have an affect on my job performance at work. I had all my test results on my desk and asked if she would like to see those and she said I would need a letter from my doctor for her to give me my medication. I had test results from my doctor that showed no issues. This office is going to hurt a lot of people who depend on them. From what I read on Lifestance Health website, nothing would change, however, everything did. I am very disappointed with this group and from the other reviews I have read tonight there are many more that feel the same.

I’m having a hard time trying to word accurately what I need to say. This office is to blame for that. The doctor I had been seeing here has disappeared without warning??? At the same time all of a sudden another company has taken over the practice. This office has NOT even noticed their patients and that speaks volumes IMO.... they could care less about their patients and this is a psychiatric office!!! I suspect this company Lifestance is a greed driven disgrace. We are mental health patients who already struggle enough. Whenever I try to call I am on hold for so long in fact one time I was 31 in the cue!!!! Usually there are 20 something people holding ahead of me. My medications are being disrupted and all I want is someone to help me. I just cannot fathom treating human beings with such utter cruelty who I might add are the ones that fund your lifestyle.

Paperwork is nonsense wants you to sign documents and acknowledge that you received copies of documents that you actually didnt initially get a copy of and has you sign stating youve read documents prior to actually getting to see them. Was told they dont except any other forms of payment beside credit or debit and has you sign allowing them full access to charge whatever card that they require you keep on file automatically. I saw Constance as the provider and was not happy. there was no concern or consideration to discuss anything between us personally she just based a diagnosis solely off of a questionnaire they make you fill out and what you scored and had no interest in anything I personally wanted to discuss. She kept repeating the scores of the questionaire and what medicine she prescribes based on the scores like talking to a robot not somebody that actually cares of helping you.I do not recommend anybody to this business from my experience i feel it just added more stress and postponed me actually getting help.

Have been seeing Melieste for over 20 years. Great guy. Then these people took over. Service went straight downhill and self pay costs went up significantly. Then Covid all but shut them down as an effective practice.Ive never even seen my doctor who took Meliestes place, just phone call appts. This is NOT ok for mental health patients. (All my other doctors see me in person.)Found myself needing urgent help (not emergency) as my deteriorating mental health had my job on the line.Meanwhile, the girl in charge of records called on a different matter trying to help save my job on her end.She recognized that I was having a problem during our conversation and typed in a message for my doc to call within the day.No call. It has been four or five days now. After managing to stay alive with Melieste for 20 years and even hold down a job for the past 5 years (a miracle) this doctors conduct coupled with their Covid policy has all but sunk me.This practice is nothing like it used to be. Nowhere near it.(LONG UPDATE):Just had my next appt. with Constance. Same mechanical, robotic behavior as Esther.Just as the other patients have reported below, they have made a blanket decision for all patients to stop any benzos (their word) regardless of success in life-sustaining activities - like a JOB.She failed to listen to concerns. She didnt even know my 22 year history with medications that we have tried before.Kept insisting that daily use of Valium caused ... when she knows I only take a half to one (2.5 - 5 mg) only on days I work (max 3 days a week.) IF I am also in the bad bipolar swing.Didnt seem to care that I take them only periodically. She tried to tell me the mood stabilizer should solve that problem. Then ignorantly began to suggest a change in that medication, too. Had she ANY idea of my history, she would have known that the mood stabilizer was the ONLY medication that completely eliminated past suicidality that I had for years and left me homeless. The regimen I am on now allowed me the edge I needed to claw my way back, to a job and home. They literally dont care and are now causing the anxiety while stopping the medication that can help with it.She also advised they were only a clinic now.She gave excuses that Valium was used only for immediate hospital anxiety relief despite the fact that their website lists it as a treatment. She initially didnt mention a replacement medication until I asked (three times.)She then mentioned Vistaril, a medication that is contraindicated for a medication I am already taking. She also said the same as the previous NP, which was I could find another doctor if I wasnt ok with it.Who would be ok with suddenly ending a medication regimen that took 22 years to find? And what mental patient with anxiety, bipolar, and PTSD issues would be ok going on a NEW search for another unknown, untrusted doctor??? Do these people even know they are treating mental patients? No referral, no suggestion, just leave if you dont like it.They are going to cost someone their life and/or livelihood. A class action is in order.

The very first thing she asked me when I sat down was so long have you had anxiety and depression??. I dont have either of these conditions, and thats not how to start the conversation if I did. I continued my visits to be treated for ADHD for about 1.5 years, but after today Im done. Today the PA Constance was argumentative when I asked her questions about changing my medications. I asked for her expert opinion and she just read off a list of meds, and asks me which one I want to try. No other details. She was absolutely not helpful. Then when the staff person called me for my copay, I tell her Im at work and cant discuss this now and she continued to tell me I need to pay and started explaining things about insurance. I was giving the first available appointment which was one week out with a Dr. Jacqueline Owens. I downloaded my patient portal and filled out all forms (again specifying that I wanted a appointment with a Suboxone specialist). After waiting a week I called the day before to confirm. On February 24th at 9am my virtual appointment started with Dr. Jacqueline Owens and after about 30 mins of questions I was told that the doctor was not available to write prescriptions and would need to see me in person first. And went on to suggest that I should admit myself to a Crisis Center. It was not until now when I had to explain I was not in a Crisis and I was interested in Suboxone that she admitted that her office did not specialize in Suboxone and was not licensed to prescribe or treat patients. Secondly she explains that she’s not a Doctor (only a Nurse Practitioner) and continue to insist on trying to help me and insisting ( I guess hoping to secure the $300 I had already paid). In the end I had to demand to stop the appointment and not be charged. Her commit was “ Im not really looking to get any money from this ALL THOUGH we have been on the phone now for some time).WHAT A JOKE!Thankfully the Review didn’t end this way. After spending another 2 hours on hold a being hung up on I was able to talk to some very polite people(Laura and Rebecca) and was scheduled with the right Doctors. I was giving a credit for my next appointment and even some helpful information.I also want to say that I have family and friends that use LifeStance and have only spoken good things about the Marietta location. If I were just reviewing my doctors, it would be a 5 star review. Dr. Lederman and Dr. Jaffe are phenomenal providers. The office on the other hand is abhorrent. The online booking system has been out of commission for at least a month as of this posting, so if you want to make an appointment, you have to call. Good luck on their phone system. I called at 4pm on Tuesday to make an appointment. The automated system said I was 10th in line and my hold time would be 10 minutes. 35 minutes later, I was number 1 in line and I got booted to the voicemail. There is no reason for that to have happened, considering that the offices are open until 6 according to their Google listing. So now we get into the game of phone tag that inevitably ends up happening. Then there is the billing department. For some reason they accept Anthem BCBS of Georgia, but every three months or so I get a massive bill from the office and I have to call Anthem and have them send over another EOB.This is one of the least professional offices that I have ever encountered and I have no qualms about seeking care elsewhere.

I mentioned a medication that an adult friend takes and she said that my insurance might not cover it, then flipped through a stack of papers on her desk and said YES! They do cover it. I waited for a SIGNED prescription before leaving and went straight to the pharmacy, only to find that the medication is NO LONGER PRODUCED and would NOT be covered by my insurance anyway. Back on the phone to Constance and a higher dose of the original medicine was called in (within 2 days). I had an appointment scheduled for TOMORROW and Constance called me today to say I was going through my appointments for NEXT WEEK and you have not completed a TOVA test (Ive never heard of a TOVA test), so BY LAW, I CANNOT PRESCRIBE ANY MEDICATION FOR YOU. I shouldnt have prescribed any medication for you. You will need to go to one of our other locations for the test. I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS!!!! She has written prescriptions for me TWICE... AND the Dr. signed off on each one. THESE PEOPLE ARE COMPLETE CLOWNS!!! And if what she says is true about the LAW....they are breaking the law and illegally writing prescriptions for CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES.

I very much like Dr. Melieste but the front desks staff has been incompetent at times. You cannot get through on the phone when you try to call and the person that answers the phone and checks you in seems like she can’t be bothered. It has just began to happen with recent hires. However the doctors are great and I enjoy talking to them.

I called Georgia Behavioral Health Professionals six weeks ago to get an appointment for today. I took my child out of school, and we drove 30 minutes to the Snellville office. Upon our arrival, we were informed that the person who scheduled the appointment messed up and that the doctor we are scheduled with doesnt take the insurance we have. I pay the $135 self pay fee and hope we dont have to go for more than a few sessions. THEN, they call me back to the counter again and inform me that my money is not good there because my child has medicaid and refuse to let me speak to the office manager. Once they figured out how to print me a refund receipt, we leave the office to head back to school, 30 minutes away. THEN, the office manager calls and tells me that they called Medicaid and I needed to come back and sign a form for self pay....because the doctor didnt want to not get paid for a session.

This place is operated by incompetent individuals. Here is a chronological synopsis of my experience. So after doing my own extensive research, I figured I have a case of ADHD. I searched for local ADHD clinics and happened to find this office as the closest location to my address. I called in and made an appointment to see a “psychologist” for the diagnosis and treatment. First appointment, I was given a brief assessment with a “counselor.” It was more like a “Please tell me what kind of mental symptoms are you having.” After the assessment, she said “Ok. These are significant signs of ADHD. You will need to see a Psychologist for an evaluation. Then bring us the results so we can prescribe you medication.” I was thinking to myself so why couldn’t y’all told me to do that over the phone? Anyways, $300 for that visit. So I found a Licensed Psychologist that completed the mental health evaluation and discovered that I have a severe case of ADHD. I made a second appointment with GBH and was seen by the same counselor with the results. This time, she reviewed the results and decided that medication should really help with my condition. However, their physician, their only physician, wasn’t in yet. So she sent me home saying the e-prescription to my listed pharmacy will be sent over within 3 hours. I paid $150 for that visit. But before I left, she had to run outside to get me back in for vitals and to ask me if I had any changes in my appetite or suicidal thoughts. Lol. 6 hours later I called my pharmacy to discover that they never sent in an e-prescription. I made several phone calls to the office but no one had a clue what I was referring to. So I decided to drove 40 min back to the office for a physical prescription. I got there, rant about my experience so far, and was told that the physician just decided he will handle all prescription at the end of the day. And I’m welcome to sit and wait for 4 hours. Are you kidding me? How long does it take for a licensed physician to complete a prescription? So I left. Highly doubt my prescription will be sent in today. This is my very first google review of a business and they totally deserves it. Please save yourself from the poor work ethics and just go somewhere else.

I incur extra charges every time I visit, conartists. Nothing is ever disclosed to me, always a surprise bill in the mail. This time because my appointment went over the alloted 15 minutes. My regular doctor will spend 45 minutes talking to me about her vacations, this time a new doctor that counted every minute. Again, nothing disclosed about the time limit, just a surprise bill in the mail for $82 that arrived to my home a month later. Not the first time this has happened. Called the corporate office to dispute, no response from them.

I’m at my wits end with this place. I’ve switched over doctors a few times at this office who’ve been somewhat negligent with my information. I.e.: when I tell you that I have a history with an eating disorder and body dysmorphia, it’s not appreciated when you repeatedly mention my weight and how I look. This has happened twice since I’ve been going to this facility. It’s always a struggle to even get anyone to answer the phone to schedule an appointment (and the patient portal won’t allow you to schedule online), making me have issues with receiving my medication on time. For a facility devoted to mental health, they do a poor job of showing it in my experience. I’d go to another office if it weren’t for the fact that they also charge fees for transferring paperwork. If you can help it, go somewhere else. Anywhere else. They don’t care about what you’re facing.

This is the most unprofessionally run office of any I have been to. Lets start by saying good luck on getting them to answer the phones and dont waste your time leaving a message and hoping for a callback. Thats just the beginning. Dr Paul routinely shows up late to the office and even when in the office will see you when he chooses even if thats 20 or 30 min after your scheduled time. The business side is no better! I had to cancel an apt due to the Dr not being able to see me at my scheduled time. He was sitting at his desk doing nothing which was confirmed by staff! I needed a prescription which I had to call in due to the Dr not seeing me from the previous visit. I was charged $25 for a phone call to get this accomplished. They have ridiculous fees for everything and I wont waste my time or money any longer with this office.

Professionals should be removed from the name of the Snellville office. The office is staff is totally UNPROFESSIONAL and its very difficult to get thru to speak to a person over the phone, particularly regarding medical records. I had to call a different location (which answered immediately) to get a message to this office. Also, the counselor my husband saw was a disappointment as well. After a number of bi-weekly sessions of my husband spilling out his painful life story, one day he went in and the computer system was down. This same counselor did not even know his name nor could he remember anything about my husband. It really set him back treatment wise to know he was just a number and the therapy he thought he was receiving was not genuine. Recommend to anyone seeking help to perhaps try another office if youre looking for a more professional experience.

Dr. Melieste has been seeing me since 1999. Meriam and Karen are his angels. They go over and beyond to help you through all that life has dealt you. Very compassionate, caring, good listeners, and strictly professional about everyone involved in the situations, incidents, and family dynamics.

Please trust these negative reviews. I have never in my life had such a frustrating experience with a medical office. (And I only went one time ) I waited for about 45 mins past my appointment time to be seen. Felt like the Dr was listening but I dont feel confident that he actually was listening given the events that have transpired since.I know things can get hectic but their staff being rude and inturrpting me with condescending tone of voice is not ok. Patients are the whole reason the office is there, so when the office staff takes almost 30 ...THIRTY.....days to respond to a Prescription request, there is a major issue and it isnt on the patient side.I work in an industry where you would lose your job in a heartbeat for acting/talking the way multiple people here did. Patient Care should be a priority, especially in a behavioral health office but it clearly is not even important here. Thanks for making my anxiety 10x worse this week. I should have stayed clear of this office in the first place. Wish 0 stars was an option.

Poor communication and they have a habit of prescribing medications that are difficult to obtain regardless if you need them or not. I hope they realize the health risks posed by suddenly not taking medication your body is used to and going through withdrawal symptoms that are often times worse than the condition you went to see them for initially

Everything about my visit here completely rubbed me the wrong way. In order to be seen by Dr. Paul, he *requires* a drug test before he sees you. It’s to make sure there aren’t any reactions with medications prescribed.. but that’s why it’s asked on your paperwork. I felt that was very intrusive and inappropriate to be required. Once I saw Dr. Paul, he came off very condescending and completely disinterested in the appointment. He asked me nothing about myself or my symptoms. I have anxiety, depression, and ADHD. He asked me to basically “pick one”. He wanted me to narrow down the worst 1 (which is difficult seeing as they seem to all be interconnected). He then prescribed me something that treats 1/3 of my issues. It seemed as if he wasn’t taking me seriously, as if I was exaggerating. I’m already on medication and wanted to move from my general doctor to a specialist... I felt spoken down to and disrespected by his demeanor. I knew from the moment this appointment began that I wasn’t coming back.

I have been a patient here for past 8 years. Dr. Melieste and his PA Maryam are WONDERFUL. The staff has changed since GBH bought the practice. I showed up to my scheduled appointment only to be told by Tiffany, Front Office Lead, that my appointment was cancelled and that someone had called me. I told her I never received a call or I would not have battled horrific holiday traffic to come in. She did not apologize, just stared at me with a look of whatever on her face. I then asked to be rescheduled a week later. I had an issue with lapse in my health coverage due to spouses mental health issues and tried to get assistance from Tiffany. Tiffany was NASTY, LOUD(patients can hear raised voices), RUDE, INSENSITIVE and UNCOOPERATIVE. After 8 years of being a patient there, I wanted to leave but showed up, paid Self Pay rate as I love Dr. Melieste and Maryam. Tiffany checked me in, she was abrupt, rolling her eyes, making snide comments and jokes to other staff about me as they kept looking back at me. COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL. If Dr. Melieste leaves, so will I. I work in healthcare and have managed multiprovider practices. I would NEVER HIRE someone with that attitude to serve patients.
