This is the worst company ever!! If I could give a negative star I would. They basically allow more than one applicants on a home at a time knowing good and well who qualifies and who doesnt. They give u 30 days to find properties that they know arent available yet they list them. They also have scammers linked with their site that act like they work for them and WILL steal your monies so be careful. After the 30 days even tho your approved and THEY dont have available properties, they will have the audacity to make u pay another fee based on their mistakes.. Its ridiculous and very unprofessional. They dont have empathy and are very rude as well. RUN!! Try invitation homes. They take the home off the market until they know if you qualify once youve paid!!! Thats how its SUPPOSED to be done with home rentals. AGAIN, dont waste your time.
If I could give this company a negative 5 I would! Complete and total scammers. DO NOT waste your time or money applying with them. You will not get a response. If you call, you will only speak with Alexandria ( a lovely lady who is clearly the only person working). There is n refund on your application fee, that they will not process. Please dont waste your time, applying with them. I hope they go out of business or get busted for fraud because clearly they are racking up on app fees for the many of houses they have listed.
I originally gave them 5 stars but I was wrong. Ive been dealing with the toilets in our home just randomly stop working/flushing especially after a heavy rain. After I submitted work order after work order I was advised not to do that and that they are taking estimates in order to get the best rate. They dont care that our bathrooms dont work. This all started in April and Im still dealing with it. They expect you to keep paying even though the home has NO bathroom usable. My family has to go to the woods or load up and go to the closest store. Weve asked to switch homes and are being told it has to be approved first. When you call all they say is theyll email the team responsible and will elevate it. You cannot talk to them nor can you contact your local agency. When you call it goes to the main office on Texas. They did offer to give me some money for the months that the toilets werent working but that they cant until its repaired. And, if, I really mean if, they do get it repaired itll be another 30 days before theyll let me know how much. All I want is to move to a home with a working bathroom. Since Ive exhausted all avenues with Main Street Ive made my complaint with the BBB Better Business Bureau. Hopefully theyll work with me this way.
I should have read the reviews and checked the BBB but I thought with lots of homes listed this company would be reputable. It seems my experience is exactly like the majority of people. Applied for a home, (over qualified on all aspects needed, gave them everything they asked for on application and then some) a credit check was ran the next day (both of ours are close to 800 so no issues there) then the next thing I know the application is cancelled and the home is suddenly rented.IF you arent even going to accept an application on a home, WHY keep the funds and offer to switch to a new property? No, thats not acceptable. There should be an option of a refund if an application isnt even processed. There are no similar homes in my area and from the reviews I wouldnt even want to rent if there was! This business is clearly running a scam by taking money for services that never happen then refusing to refund them! Ive done everything on my part and repeatedly emailed back and forth trying to resolve it, this company is just making money off people at this point.
I have been with main street for over a year and they are awesome!!! Anytime there is a problem they are very responsive and professional. Thank you all for being so greatShaquanne
If I could give ZERO stars I absolutely would! Main Street Renewal is TERRIBLE!I Applied for my first home which I did not receive (which was fine), it was after when I really started to see how bad this company was. Once you apply for one home, MS sends you an emailing stating that you can use the application that was denied from your first home and use it to apply to any of their other homes for 30 days. So, I Would wake up every morning early around 7am to see if any new houses had been posted. One morning I had seen that a house had JUST been posted so I sent an email to send my application in, they said it would take 3-5 days to process. After waiting 3 days I called the company to double check if it had gone through, the guy over the phone said he only saw my application for the old/first home I applied for but nothing else. So, the employee had sent an email in to the applications department himself to transfer my application. After waiting another 3 days, and after 20+ people had contacted about the new home already, I called once again to see how the application was going, to only find out that the only application they saw on their end was for AGAIN, the old/first house I applied for.you can imagine my frustration.........That day (Aug, 2, 2021) I noticed another house, similar to the second one I had TRIED to apply for had just got posted that morning, so I call to stop the transfer of my application to the second home (because it was most likely already taken after the week I had waited to get my application sent over) and have them transfer my application to this BRAND NEW HOUSE JUST POSTED THE MORNING OF AUG. 2nd. I once again wait 3 days, but before I can call about my application, I checked the company website and the FINAL HOUSE WAS TAKEN DOWN. I called to see if the home was still available but the employee over the phone said the house was already taken July 31st, BEFORE THEY EVEN POSTED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!This company is greedy and just wants money (application fees are $50 per person and there are 4 of us). They post houses that are already sold just to get people to apply and take their money. Not only that, they have a HORRIBLE internal structure system where they cannot even keep track of when applications were sent through, so most likely if you apply it will be to late.TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE
Very supportive - not often expected from a leasing company but they have been very helpful. Advice for new home renters could be strengthened - for example I didnt know how to pay my first payment as it wasnt showing in my residents portal payment bar - but they were really helpful once I called them.
My experience with Main Street Renewal. Has been a great experience. The house was fully remodeled. Everything was very clean. The inside and out was freshly painted. The tile floors and carpets are in very good shape. I love the big remodeled bathrooms and kitchen. We are definitely enjoying this house. They have called me every month to see if I have any concerns. Which was only one. And they are taking care of it. They really do care. And I am much appreciative.
Dont walk, run! If you see one or two people complaining about the same thing...maybe its a fluke. However read the reviews on here and on BBB. You apply and hear nothing back! They run your credit, collect their application fee, and then thats the last you hear. It really seems they are taking like 50+ applications on a single property. You should take maybe 10 at MOST then close for applications because they will likely find a qualified applicant amongst those who apply. There should be a class-action lawsuit against these guys because its scam-adjacent if not an outright scam. Shame on this company!
I’ve been a renter for about 3 years now and this company has grown and has improved a lot. Now in my opinion, MS renewal is more than understanding and communicative with its tenants. They notify you of resources that are available for different tenants needs. Work orders are taken care of more quickly and representatives are always pleasant, professional and helpful.
Poor service, I put in an application for a home, I was sent an email 3 days later stating that The home was not available anymore, 😕 they should have took it down, they sent my application fee back through through check, but I was told that it would remain in the system 30 days so I could apply to another one but it was not true, so I had to come up.with another 100 bucks to apply for another home because the 100 check was still not in my mailbox yet !!!!, the people dont speak good English they didnt understand me half the time. Im was on time constraints. Its very frustrating an the company needs to do better with customer service, People just dont have money to keep Appling for things especially if there trying to move an may have to put in other applications elsewhere.
Save your money and time. This was my first house purchase in which I was scheduled to move in 08/18, I was told they would do an inspection of my home prior to my move in date. It is currently 08/23 and I have yet to officially stay in my new home. Upon arrival I discovered I did not have any working A/C, thankfully someone came to fix it later on that day. I thought things were fine at that point, I then later that night discovered I have absolutely no hot water, cold only. I was told I’d need to wait an additional 5-6 days before someone can come fix this issue because it isn’t “urgent priority”. This is a terrible move in experience. I also cannot reach anyone to discuss these issues beyond their customer team. Run.
I was told that I got approved for a home but when I go and find multiple homes they claim that they are taken so I was told that my app would stay on file for 1 month but every time I give them a home they ask me to send the check stubs every week for different homes which is crazy. And then they would have my app under a cancel status until I find a home that no one have taken. My issue with this company is don’t have multiple people fill out application for the same home. Atleast the home down from the site so people can know if it’s available or not
Earl is the maintenance technician that was sent to my home this morning and I must say he deserves a raise! He went above and beyond in assisting me with the issues that I had put in an order for. When arriving I had expressed to him my frustration because of how long it took them to send someone out but he really made things better by empathizing with me and doing all that he could.
I have read the reviews on this company before I applied and I took a chance. They are a SCAM to get your NON-REFUNDABLE application fee. You will apply for the place you want and they will have rented home before posting and get your money. STAY AWAY!!
Requirements change AFTER application submission and after paying application fee. Even though your approved you dont get the place had to transfer application to 4 different places after being told I was approved then told too late someone got it. You cannot speak to any agents only CS rep that leaves messages for agents. You have to trust a company with having all of your personal information thats enough to steal your identity. Too much chasing for help. Alot of mistakes and misinformation given for something so important as in paying for shelter.
Please please please save your self the headache and do NOT deal with this company if I could give 0 stars I would. I moved into my place 7/25/2021 after a very long annoying application process in which they kept renting out the houses I applied for. But after relocating to GA I needed hind a home. When I moved in I never got an inspection report so I didn’t know what issues this house had. I did my renter inspection as soon as I walked in the house. I found the carpet was not cleaned or changed it smells like a dog was in the house the paint was very sloppy, there are literally holes in my floor were rodent can get in and oh is there a rodent problem in this house. The water was shut off by the water company because there is a leak in the house and after getting it turned on I quickly found out why it was shut off the toilet upstairs is leaking into the downstairs bedroom in which there’s is a leak stained ceiling that could possibly fall in. Upon getting the water on I found out the hot water heater was shot and I called them to let the know which I would think is an emergency they sent someone out 3 weeks later. I have a refrigerator that runs very loud and reported all these issues and still none of this issues have been fixed. I pay $2270 for rent each month and feel like I live in a dumpster. Since I relocated and don’t have another option I have to deal with it for now but definitely considering taking legal action cause they tried it.
This company is PATHETIC. They do not respond to maintenance requests timely. Their actual maintenance workers are rude to the point of speaking to me like I’m a child with special needs. I’m disgusted by their “professionalism” or complete lack thereof. Rent is too high to be treated the way they treat their tenants. Not to mention, the house is falling apart like they couldn’t even find the time to walk through and make sure everything was functional.
I have been in this property for 4 years and have been a model tenant. The service from property management has never been more than subpar but this past year has been the worst. I have been expressing concerns of water leaking/damage for almost a year. I have had 5 plumbers dispatched to this property in the past several months who have all told me that the leaks are from cracks in the foundation and not a plumbing issue. Every day I have to place towels down, wash, and replace them because the carpet is constantly wet. This is an annoyance and hazard that I should not be dealing with. There is now mold under the carpets. Although my primary interest is for the safety and comfort of myself, family, and friends that visit this home: I also feel for the property owner who is paying a property management company to take care of these types of issues and it is clearly not being done.
5/26/21 Update: I decided to look up BBB.org for this company...smh...i found a better company to work with. See my reviews as I left them a positive review recently.I wish I would have looked up the reviews sooner... When people write on here RUN...do as stated! I submitted an application on the 5/8...they pulled my credit on 5/10....I was told everything was good to go 5/11....why is it now 5/19 and I have not gotten approved yet for the home that is STILL available?! I have called the last 3 business days sitting on the phone for 30-50 mins only to hear that all of my information was good but they dont know why the leasing department hasnt contacted me. Then I was told they would escalate my concern and nothing...no emails returned, they will not call, and their website is misleading because they state the process is 3-5 days. Cut your loses and go with SMALLER property management where your time and MONEY will matter.I honestly believe a major part of this company is collecting application fees even after they have a person qualified for a home. You will sit on the phone and your emails will go unanswered...(my screenshot of the phone call is 85% of holding the line...i only talk to them for 3-4 minutes and the emails I sent are still unanswered)Cut your losses, take your application fee, deposit, and decent to excellent credit elsewhere...
I very much appreciate the quick response as we have had a construction delay on our new home due to Hurricane Ida.
Considering a lawsuit. If I could leave zero stars I would. I have only lived in the new house for four days and they have yet to have a plumber come out and fix the water. We have not had hot water for four days upon moving in, there is a huge water leak and we’ve just been given the run around for four days. Most appliances in the kitchen are broken. No vendor has contacted us about the lack of clean running hot water. We will not have clean water until Tuesday if that because the scheduling department decided to schedule and out of zone vendor and took two days to fix it after me having to call every three hours to get it fixed and now it’s a holiday weekend. Our leasing agent didn’t send us the final paperwork for the walk through until the day we moved. No one came to inspect the property before move in and staff is extremely unresponsive.
BLACK MOLD!!! NEVER RENT FROM THIS PLACE!!! lets start off with im saying over $2,000 a month to move in to a bug infested house, and the house was never inspected before move in, or CLEANED.. I am an older lady with 2 toddlers, and I found BLACK MOLD in the MASTER BED ROOM. also the Dwn stairs ceiling is caving in from severe water damage. I have called Main Street renewal over 100 times for them to tell me I have to wait until the manage calls me back. IT HAS BEEN OVER A WEEK, no call back or emails. nothing has been solved.. I have to get my lawyers involved at this point..
This place is a SCAM. They let multiple people apply for homes knowing that they’ll keep the fees. Shame on this company
Unfortunately been with them for 3 1/2 going on for years! My fridge stopped working I’ve lost hundreds of dollars worth of food they do not find it as a urgent work order and says they will get back to me 2 to 3 weeks! I’ve asked him for a light outside because I do not have any exterior lighting they did not see that as a safety concern and denied it. Also ask them to repair the siding of the house so that birds do not get in and they have in the past all they did was put up pallets against the hole. My company is requiring me to move closer to their office which is two hours away. I gave them written documents from My employer they said the only way they would let me out of my lease as if I paid a $14,000 penalty. He’s gone up $150 every year worst management company yet. But if you were one day late on your rent they continuously call you. They only care about the money you were given them they don’t care about you as an individual.
Applied to a house on their website had to constantly email / call for updates. After about 2 weeks got a denial email with no explanation. Easily exceeded the requirements, and they never called our current rental management company which we have paid rent every month on time for 4 years. Seems likes they are collecting application fees. Applied to another house, different management company was approved in 2 days.... Also never have been denied, seems off.
This is a scam. They took my application fee and even told me I was approved for the property, and then the next day my application showed it was cancelled and the property was not available. Alison Birks is the leasing agent for Atlanta West and she is absolutely incompetent. Her phone number listed in her email is out of service and she sends cut and paste emails that are completely inaccurate—if she sends any response at all. Do not give your money to these thieves.
I have contacted you Resident Care Team several times for information about the new transition and have received excellent service. They have been very professional, polite and patient with me.Thank you for a great staff
Since moving in it’s been a horrid nightmare to get my kitchen in working condition. And they clearly don’t care if a pregnant mother of 2 can’t even cook hot meals or wash dishes in her new house where she has only lived for a week. I’m not happy at all especially to be a new resident
This company is a complete joke, Don’t waste your time or your money.. They only have one person answering their phones and she keeps repeating the same thing over and over.
If it wasnt for Ms. Holmes and Ms. Brandy, I would not change my review. But to their unique professionalism and quick response as well as great customer service skills, has made me change my outlook on this company. I have really appreciated their hard work and dedication to making my experience wonderful. Again, I truly thank you Ms. Holmes and Ms. Brandy.
LISTEN TO THE REVIEWS!! total scam. my roommates and I called before applying to discuss credit (we’re all young and wanted to make sure we qualified) and they told us to do the application a certain way and we wouldn’t get denied. after a week of waiting to hear back, we finally called and the guy on the phone told us we’d hear back in a few days as our screening wasn’t done yet. not even 3 hours later, we got an email we were denied. for no reason!! all the email said was that we were denied. we will be opening a dispute.
I have applied for a few different houses within this company and there is lack of communication when it comes to being approved, not approved, etc. They say wait 3-5 business days for a response but I can apply to a house and look online within 2 days and the house is removed from the website and I still have to call to see if the house is available. One house a listing agent ask for some more documentation which they received within 20 min of the email being sent and the house I applied for disappeared again from the website and I called to see if the house was taken and they said Oh yes you didnt get an email?. Which is okay but not only did they not communicate that the house was taken they automatically moved the funds to a house that was an hour away and $400 over my budget.Im very disappointed in Main street I have always loved the presentation of their homes but their communication and their application process is terrible.9/07/21Not only have I lost $200 with this company I’m also out of a home! One representative from the application department got them to send me a refund for one of my application fees and due to me having to move I never received it so I called last week to see if they can cancel and send it to a new address and one representative got the address and said they are sending to another representative and we would get a call back .They called back and they wanted to know all the details about why and who sent because they don’t give refunds ! So now I’m out of $300 and a home ! I wouldn’t recommend this company at all …they have no customer service and out of all the “notes” they have added to my applications I’m tired of explaining the same issues to each representative and when I tell them about the inconvenience and how I’m tired of speaking to different staff members explaining the same issue and they respond by saying their team.
I have never been through a process like this when trying to move! They tell you, youre approved & your application has been processed. You pick a house. Every time you call they give the same generic someone will contact you within 3-5 business days! You wait, then the home is gone & no longer available, then they tell you to transfer your application & wait another 3-5 business days, then that one is gone & its a never ending cycle. Any time you ask to speak to an actual leasing person, they tell you, you cant speak to them!! I worked in property management for years & I never treated my applicants like this. How is it your job to lease, but you never speak to anyone? I have been trying for the longest to get a home. I wouldnt recommend this company to my enemy & the person who referred me definitely got an earful from me. Worst experience ever! I have the money & am qualified & still cant seem to get anything accomplished with this company. DO NOT WAIST YOUR APPLICATION FEES!
I only give a 1 star because it wont allow me to leave zero. I filled out an application on August 1st. Was told 3-5 business days to get an answer, after 5 days I called and was told that it would take 2-3 business days before someone would respond to my current message. Then I waited 2-3 more days and never heard back. Called again and they told me another 2-3 days. On August 31st I got an emailed saying my income was unverifiable and that I would need to submit something else so I emailed them asking if or what else would be acceptable and I got an email on September 8th telling me my application had been canceled and that I could give them another 100 dollars to apply again. These people dont follow through and are not customer friendly because they do NOT LISTEN!! Savid yourself the heart ache and time and MONEY find someone else to do business with, I wouldnt waste time or money on them.

Horrifying, Terrifying, do not rent at all from this company, they are very unprofessional and unresponsive. They were suppose to transfer me into another me home because of mold and moisture, but instead they waited for my lease to expire in midst of pandemic and sent me a holdover warrant from the magistrate court and just destroyed my rental reputation and credit. Now i have appear in a magistrate courtroom to clear my name so i can find me new home hopefully with better landlords due your research people before dealing with these slum lords...
This company should be investigated and shut down immediately! All of the bad reviews are accurate. They are taken application fees and the posted homes are not even available. Something is extremely wrong with this organization
This agency is a logistics and communications disaster. My application was jumbled with my roommates, application details were lost or not properly communicated to us. Despite offering to rent their property at a rate higher than the asking price and to pay several months rent in advance, we were denied requests to speak with a leasing agent. Their receptionists are unhelpful per the company’s mandate that they stick to a script full of meaningless platitudes. We decided to go with other options just to avoid the various headaches and dead ends that this company deals in. Avoid MSRenewals at all costs.
I’ve had no issues with MainStreet Renewal, if I needed anything I was able to speak to a live person and have timely email responses. I love the property and service
SAVE YOUR MONEY. DO NOT APPLY.. YPU WILL GET DENIED …They are denying people without an explanation. No one will return your calls or emails . Collecting application fees. They will tell you they do not list on Zillow .. not true - their houses are on Zillow . One house is showing 120 people contacted them for it.Imagine if they all paid the $50.. scamComing soon houses are the worse to apply to, why? There is no limit of applications they will stop taking. If you are approved the house goes off the market- application fees stop…therefore, why would they approve anyone so soon. Please file your complaints with the fair housing dept. This company need to be stopped and put out of business .
We moved out the property and had the carpets professionally clean. When we got our deposit back, it was incorrect. They charges us $285 for carpet cleaning. We already had them clean and send them a receipt. These people are just awful. The property we lived in was awful. They try to charges us for a carpet that should be replace not just clean. The carpet smell so bad before we move in, we had it clean before we moved in and after we moved out. Just groossssssssssss
Main Street Renewal is the absolute worst company to rent from. If you ever have a maintenance issue it will take them 2 weeks to schedule and even then the issue will not be resolved. I let Main Street renewal know on 04/20 that my refrigerator had completely stop working. They could not schedule anyone until 04/29 which still did not replace the refrigerator. It’s been 3 weeks me and my family have not have a working refrigerator. This is one of many issues that they have not resolved or lack of appropriate attention.
UPDATE: It has been 3 weeks now and nothing has been done about the water damaged carpets. This has been after 18 phone calls and 4 emails in which I never received a response. We pay well over the Zillow rent estimate for this property, so please consider the value youre getting for how much you have to pay.My fiancé and I are current residents with MSR. Our water heater flooded our master bedroom and it has STILL yet to be fixed. See below for details. Otherwise, DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY.We called the emergency line the night the flood occurred and all I was given was a number to call. They did not make an attempt (or so it seems) to reach out to the 24/7 plumber they suggested, so I did. The plumber mentioned they have to get approval from MSR before entering the home, and would not start the work order until that happened. So, I had to call MSR back to tell them to call and give approval to the plumber to enter the home. At this point, Im a little annoyed at how unprofessional this is, but we had an incident with our fence (storm knocked portions of it over) so I wasnt 100% surprised by MSRs disregard to the timeliness of the issue. The next day, the plumber comes and tells us there is extensive water damage in the wall and carpet, and that the cost to fix the pipes exceeded the cap MSR has for service orders. The plumber informed us that he submitted the bid and could not start work until MSR approved the request. So, I called MSR and asked for a timeline on when this would happen so I knew how long we would be without hot water. They said the approval/rejection process could take up to 24 hours...I asked if they would at least come and start helping with the carpet as mold can set in within 24-48 hours. They said they werent going to do anything until they heard from the owner...............So here we are without hot water and desperately trying to soak up water from the carpets so we dont inhale mold. Moreover, we still have not received an update from MSR. Seriously, please strongly consider renting from this company. We have more than one horror story since we moved in here and its just not worth it.
The rep was very informative and patient with my questions. Awesome service!
I put in an application on a home Aug.4. I was approved. As soon as, I was approved the home already pre-leased. Thats after talking to someone and supposely home wasnt available until the 15th for move in. Also, I was supposedly the 1st applicant. So then you say find another home we can put your application on. After getting a notification from a reputable ad(zillow, trulia, hotpads). I asked to be transfered to that home come to find out you have no home in the city of Atlanta actually for rent. They are scamming people out of application fees and holding fees. Then they act like they havent received anyparts of your paperwork and thats whats causing the problem. I have over 50 email correspondence with Mainstreet renewal. They are renting homes they have sold and or rented. All the properties are still listed on rental sites as available. And wverytime I pick a home its already but still say available soon. When you call them out on it they act like home is still being remoldeled. Keep in mind Ive taking time to drive around these homes at least 3xs.
I had to make three phone calls to get it finished. The second phone call disconnected when I was put on hold. All three staff members were polite and professional.
I would not recommend even if it was the last place to go. I rented from them for about 3 years. I had section 8 and when I left they said I owed a balance of what section 8 didnt pay. I followed back up with section 8 and they showed them proof of payments and that nothing was owed by them. I have been dealing with this for 4 years to get it removed and still no one will follow through! If you care about your credit dont waste your time!
I have been trying to get my pool pass for weeks now and havent received a response from anyone. The summer is drawing to a end and my kids have not got to go to the pool a single time. I pay for the HOA services and havent got to use them at all. Unless you reimburse me somehow, this rating wont go down and I will post it to every review company I can.Brand Specialist, before you go giving me some email to contact so that this review doesnt make you look bad and make it appear as is you fixed the issue by replying to me, you should know I have:1. Emailed the Atlanta office director2. Emailed propertyonboarding every day for the past week3. Put in a MS renewals portal contact us form4. Put in a maintenance request5. Called the call center multiple timesGoogle viewers who got this far, MS is good if you dont need anything from them and everything falls in place for you, but goodness forbid you have to touch base with someone because its very very very difficult to get a response.
This is the MOST unprofessional rental company. I’ve paid my rent on time and gave proper notice to move out. The house was cleaner when I turned it over than when I moved in. That’s because when I moved in the house hadn’t been cleaned. Any who, fast forward to me moving out. ABSOLUTELY zero communication from them. I got hung up on twice, places on excessively long holds, and yelled at. Just for trying to find out the status of my deposit. They fixed NOTHING while I was renting from them. Save yourself the headache. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY.
Mainstreet Renewal have a new and easy method to report maintenance issues via text such a great idea 👍🏾♥️
I applied to a house and had to keep calling myself for updates. I was told before I applied there were no other applications before I applied. I called myself for 3 weeks and finally was told they gave the house to someone else. DO NOT APPLY TO MAIN STREET RENEWAL! Poor response rate and they are very unprofessional. Now I’m requesting a refund for my app fee and was told they don’t do refunds after receiving poor communication. It’s a total waist of time!
Gave me a home with no appliances. No stove no refrigerator no microwave no dishwasher. Took a month after move in to receive them. Been in the house 8 months reported a water leak $500 water bill. people came out said sink needed to be replaced. A month went by but nobody showed. the basement ceiling is now leaking and looks like the kitchen is going to fall in. The whole house is coming undone. They did a good job hiding everything very well when we moved in however it’s all coming apart now. They also have HOA but don’t give you the HOA guidelines. When your warned by HOA mainstreet charges you for a warning but doesn’t give you the guidelines.
RUN! Started an application process and waited three weeks with ZERO contact from this company. they were waiting on “something” but after over an hour on hold, we were met with “I don’t know” when asked what the hold up was. Is this a scam to just collect people’s application fees? companies like Progress call you within 24 hours and have you moved in within the week. Absolutely unreal. Refuse to even answer an e-mail. “non refundable” application fee. okay..🤣🤣🤣
We used mainstreet because we wanted to be in a certain neighborhood. We spend a decent amount of money monthly and have yet to receive access to any amenities. We’ve emailed and emailed and called and called and all they keep telling us is they’ll respond in 24-48 hours. It’s been a month and a half and no response. They keep giving us the run around and it’s unfair and extremely frustrating when we pay so much money. The email accounts are apparently backlogged so even the customer care service said they haven’t emailed them back. It just sucks that there’s no way to get help.
I am giving 3 stars on the strength of my experience with one leasing agent alone, Brandi Hayes. Her service has been excellent! Definitely the best service I have received from any MSR employee to date and, I have dealt with several, multiple. After an experience of little to no communication for over a month, their error causing me to loose the home I originally applied for, extremely rude CSRs over the phone, being bounced around on the phone for almost 2 hours from person to person, Brandi single-handedly turned my extremely poor experience of poor communication and lack of follow through completely around. Once she took over, she made this leasing process so easy for me in the end. Brandi deserves 5 stars but, I cannot give more than 3 in this company review due to the extremely poor experience I had.
Where do I start? This has been the ABSOLUTE nightmare dealing with this company. I put three APPLICATIONS in in the last month. The first home was leased ok they took forever to reach out to me and let me know I had to call and send emails to find that out, finally someone reaches out to me,second time the same outcome except no one ever contacted me I tried to view home and it was longer available ok cool I immediately call and send email to transfer to another home and here I am today still no one knows about anything smh
Do not i repeat do not waste your time with these people they are liars. They give you the run around they dont stand on anything they say. They will take your money very unprofessional people. Very lack of communication. You will be stress out and mentally insane dealing with this company.
I applied for a home after getting my 50 application fee the home had already been rented! Never heard back from ANYONE!! If I wouldnt have called I would still be waiting to hear back from them applied again still nothing been emailing everything nothing!!
It has been over 2 weeks without a fridge and they just ordered one today. We have called every day and they keep saying we will expedite the situation. I e have yet to see anything be done.
I had an issue, in fact several since I moved in and have had horrible service when trying to get simple assistance!! But today Im happy to say Blanca made the issue seem non-existent! She actually listened to my concern, went above and beyond for resolution, and stayed on the phone with me to insure my pending transaction was complete! This is a learning moment in what Excellent Customer Service is and should be! Thank you Blanca, I hope this makes it to you! You are Excellent!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I feel they need a better system for the applications process some Leasing agents are more professional than others is just the luck of the draw
Main Street Renewal had a property for rent listed on their site in the Waldrop Station Community that was for sale and tried to rent the property they where not contracted to do so. I completed a application paid the application fee. Main Street Renewal tried to steal my application fee I paid with my Credit card and received my money back. I researched the property thru Real Estate records to show Main Street Renewal was not the owner of the property or a Agent to rent property. Be careful Main Street Renewal is a SCAM. I have made a report on this Company.
They do not get back wit u .. they hold u up past your time so u have to fill another application out and another, 50 dollars its a scam
PLEASE BELIEVE THESE COMMENTS FROM OTHERS. I paid my $40 application fee and was denied without a reason why. Now as im trying to apply my $40 application fee to another rental property they are saying that I cant because I was denied. They clearly state that if you were not accepted for your initial rental property that you can then forward your application towards another rental property. THIS IS A LIE, I agree with the previous person who said they just want those $40 from people. STAY AWAY FROM MAIN STREET RENEWAL, they are horrible. I still dont even know why I was denied.
I have reached out to this place multiple times via phone calls and emails and still no luck getting in touch with anyone. All I was trying to do was get an update on my application that I submitted for a house they are leasing. I did not get a single response to a single email, phone calls, or voicemail that I made. I definitely would not recommend going through them for anything, because of this is what they do to customers I can only image what they will do to their residents.
This company need to revamp on how future tenants can view their homes. It’s hardly impossible to go and view any home with this company. I scheduled a showing, they gave me a code but the code didn’t work. I had to call the agency that MainStreet Renewal uses to schedule/view their homes. The agency told me I had to contact MainStreet Renewal. Pretty much I was going in circle’s with them. So everyone pay attention to these ratings because they are not lying.
Rented a home from this particular region the home was clearly not ready for tenant move in. They take their time getting anything fixed. I am still going back and forth trying to get out this lease and put in a different home with one of their other locations that is tenant ready. Atlanta west definitely is not where it’s at. When I asked for a corporate number I was told corporate is not working, when asked for a corporate email they responded with corporate doesn’t have an email address. Before moving in any home drone the Atlanta west location I recommend getting a look at it before you move in. I can say the maintenance tech that is sent to fix what he can is very nice and helps out as much as he can but the Atlanta west office needs to get it together or that crew needs to be replaced because they are dropping the ball on these homes and don’t care. My cabinets were not properly put together and the drawers are falling off. All the cabinets were jimmy rigged, the house was dirty, and the work that needs to be done cannot be done with tenants in it!!!! If you are looking into renting or even buying a home through the Atlanta eat option I suggest you run because you will have a work wind of issues!!!! Maybe this negative review will get someone’s attention and they will reach out!!!!!!
READ YOUR LEASE THOROUGHLY!!!! Do a thorough inspection BEFORE you turn in your walk through paper. Take plenty of photos!!! IF for whatever reason you have a major issue call Towana Brown, area manager, she is great!! Very professional and empathetic to your individual situation. Do not call the call center with real problems. Geeeezzzzus!!! Please dont expect to talk to a live person outside of the call center.
I’m still waiting for my issue to be fixNot my Google account so disregard picture
They return my rent multiple times for no reason and it tacks of extra fees which I’m beginning to learn is their scam. When trying to call to ask why they were doing that, they hung up on me. Now they’re not letting me pay my rent and I’ll probably get evicted because of them. By far the most subpar evil twisted convoluted company to ever rent from. From the very beginning they wouldn’t allow us to move into our house over a week after our move in date unless we paid for more things. We had to sleep in the car completely draining our money. They’re never professional on the phone and never resolve your problems like they’re supposed to.
Ive been renting my house for year 3 now and the house is nice, we have all new stainless steel appliances and the bathrooms were remodeled. But whomever did the remodeling did a terrible job. Upon us moving in we had to wait 6 days because they had to inspect the residence and get it ready for us to move in. When we moved in the sinks did not work in the bathrooms, the appliances still had plastic on them. Everything was dusty, nothing was clean and there was a infestation of lady bugs in all the bedrooms from the windows not being sealed. Ive called maintenance several times and nothing has ever been fixed just patched up. We have a roof leak every year when it’s a hard rain. Our gutter had been hanging from the roof for a month and no one has came to fix it. If it falls off and hits someone or someone’s car I’m sure they’ll try and file a lawsuit. Then when a technician comes to your house they charge you $100 fee and tell you 8 different reasons why they charge the fee. If you have somewhere else to rent please do so. This company is horrible and luckily my boyfriend knows how to fix things because nothing would be right!
It took the company a week to fix my front door. I could not gain access for 1 week through the front door. I had to call a locksmith myself even though I was told someone would reach out to me within the day an urgent request was sent. Unacceptable. However, Earl was extremely professional and courteous. He was quick efficient and fixed the problem in all of 30mins. Thanks Earl!
PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME! They are unprofessional and unresponsive. I applied 5/6 approved 5/14. Every home listed available is not really available. By the time your application is approved the home you applied for is no longer available. Then to transfer your application to another home takes another 3-5 days. No one speaks English fluently and they hang up on you if they don’t know how to answer your questions or concerns. This company is in the business of collecting application fees. Don’t forget that if you can’t get a home within 30 days you have to submit another $40 application. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. You have been warned! It’s Giving scam likely vibes!
I have been trying to rent a home for 2 months they have did nothing but took my little $40 and not contact, email, or even pickup when I call. Me and my fiance are waiting to get our forever home, these homes are not even close to what were spending i have a excellent credit score 800+ and we both own businesses i even showed them my bank statement showing that I have just about how much the home cost in my account in cash. I honestly believe they keep your money knowing the property has been leased. The $40 doesnt matter I can give them the whole rent amount for a year now its the lack of communication and feeling as if my time money and effort is useless.
Do not waste your money with this awful company. They will take your application fee and never respond to you. They won’t let you know if you are approved or not. There is not a real landlord so be prepared to talk to a call center agent every time you call any of the numbers they provide. All around horrible experience. Save your money and go to a company that will actually take the time to help you.
I had the pleasure of speaking with a representative today and I was really upset about issues that I have regarding the amount I’m being charged to pay rent on line. She kindly gave me different solutions on how to pay without obtaining a large fee. Her professionalism calmed me down after she explained the different options available. Keep her on this team she was the best experience I have had thus far when speaking with someone at MS Renewal. Thank you for turning my day around with just your kind words.
As a tenant of Mainstreet the repair service is timely and efficient. We recently were in the process of move from the Mainstreet home that we were in to hopefully stay with the company to another one of their homes. This process is a nightmare. When applying for a new home you are not told up front that there are already other application already on a home. Even after you are notified that a home is not available, I have noticed that the home remains on their website. You are then notified that you have 30 days to find another home using the same application fee. Well, this went on for 2 months, same process of applying, 3-5 days wait, home not available. I have found another company Progress Residential. When you apply you pay a holding fee with the application fee, the home is held for YOU, if you are approved the holding fee goes towards your first month, if not approved you get it back. The home comes off the market during this time, no one else is wasting time or money applying for a home that is already taken. This company is a breath of fresh air!!
My landlord sold the house I was living in to Main Street Renewal and I was advised to be out of the house by the end of April. I found a new place to live and was out of the house as instructed as well as advised the move out department, via email, that I would be out by the end of the month. I received an email yesterday (May 13th) regarding late rent and that if it wasnt paid by the end of the day, they would start eviction proceedings. I called the company, concerned, since they were advised that I would be out of the house as instructed, and they told me the end of my term there would be at the end of June. They said the emailed me on the 12th on the portal. I never received a email notification, and I dont even know how to get on the portal as I was only to be their tenant for a month. No one can help, and there is no direct number to call to the move out department nor is there a supervisor available to speak to. I am glad I was never a tenant of theirs for longer than 30 days, because they seem they dont have their stuff together, even when there is written proof.
This is this worst company to apply with. Not only have I expressed my concerns about the leaks in house but the concerns of the safety for my kids. These people don’t care about of any of that. I have been staying in one of the properties for a year now and the leaking issues has gotten worse they have even raised the rent. Please don’t apply for any of the properties they don’t care about your safety just your money. I have a leak in the house ever 2 months.
This is the worst rental company ever. Ive been trying to renew my lease with my fiance for 3 months now. Ive been duped. I was told I would have a lease 3 months ago. Now Im past my 30 day notice and Im paying month to month at 2000 a month. Do not rent from these people. They do not care. They will not respond. They will steal from you and lie until you go to court! A class action lawsuit is on the way. They have people who has no customer service and will hang up on you when they cant answer questions! If anyone else has had these problems, lets take them to court asap!
Absolutely Inconsiderate!Stop renting homes if u cant keep up!!I have been in process for a home since April 8th and got word that the home I was the primary applicant for was rented to someone else, they said pick a new one within 30 days they could transfer my app, i did and the one i found was removed for the sight for maintenance issues, then i picked another one and they said I sent an email to the wrong office so then i emailed that other office and was told to pick 3 homes in case.. i did so and am still waiting.. week after week.. i hate stressing abt a home when my job depends on me to be consistent how is it even legal for you to do this to people ? 3 different leasing agents, 6 different call center agents.. different expectations.. sad real said ..S.Jones
Do NOT rent from this company. Everything seemed fine and well in order until 9 months into my lease when they put a charge on my account for utilities. I contacted the office and provided proof that all utilities were paid in my name and I was told it would be handled. Then I was given notice that my lease would not be renewed because the property owner (everyone I talked to was very clear that this was not MSR decision but the person who owns the home) was selling the property. So me and my disabled mother were without a home in the middle of a global pandemic. I repeatedly asked for assistance in finding another of their properties with only vague check the website and a rude email that they dont do property transfers and I would need to reapply to be a resident. A week after I moved out, the house was back up for rent! And Im still being charged for the utilities charge I was told was being handled 6 months ago!
WORST. COMPANY. EVER. I’m telling you now if you just take the time to read this review, you will understand why you should turn and run as fast as you possibly can. We applied for a home with them after being residents with them in the past. After submitting our application and uploading all documentation we were told it would take about 3-5 days to hear back. So we waited a couple of days and we went and checked the listing on their website again because we were excited about the house we applied for and they had raised the rent by almost $200 while our application was still processing. So I call them and wait on hold for an hour and 18 minutes only to be told that there is nothing they can do about it even though we applied when the house was listed at $1445.00. First red flag. Very shady. So we accept that our rent will be higher and we keep waiting. And waiting. And waiting. Couple days later we receive an email from the leasing department stating that we need to upload documentation for our application. I call again and I’m placed on hold for another hour and when someone who barely speaks English picks up the phone I have to explain to him multiple times that we uploaded all of our documentation when we applied. So after searching for a couple of minutes he magically finds all of our documentation and states that everything looks okay and we should hear back by the next day. Another day passes and we get another email stating that documentation can’t be older than 30 days. Lol none of our documentation was older than 30 days. So I call in again and I’m placed on hold for another hour and finally someone answers the phone and we go through the same back and forth only for them to tell me everything looks okay and we should hear back by the next day. So 7 DAYS after we submitted our application I get a call from the leasing agent while I’m at work. I thought finally this is over with, we’re approved and we can get our stuff together and move. Nope. She proceeds to tell me (very rudely) that we got approved for $1545 and the house that we applied for is $1620 now so we will have to find another house and transfer the application. I ask why because not including my spouses income, I make easily 4 times the rent. She tells me that all of my cash deposits and transfers from CashApp and Venmo cannot be counted as income. Okay, well that’s half my income right there so I ask if I can upload other documentation and she rudely tells me if I can do it right this second then yeah. I don’t carry my tax returns on me everywhere I go so I told her it would take about an hour but I can go home and upload them and she said that would be fine. So I rush home, I go to upload my other documents and I call in to let them know and I get put on hold for another hour. Finally someone answers, and they told me someone else got approved for the house and that it’s no longer available. So within 2 hours (an hour of which I was on hold with them for) they had processed someone else’s application and approved them. Such a massive waste of time and money and so much stress dealing with this shady *** company. I will never. I REPEAT NEVER apply for another house with this company again. It’s really a shame, we spent 2 years as residents with them a couple years back and it wasn’t the worst experience we’ve had but this takes the cake. If you took the time to read this review, please save your time and money and look elsewhere. I’ve lost all respect for this company as a consumer and honestly with the way they treat new and current residents, I think they are a waste of space.
If I could leave no stars I would. This is a scam to collect application fees RUN. You never get the same leasing agent and it’s 3-5 business to respond by email is what the agent says at the contact center (wait time over a hour) just to hear that. (Thanks.) Contact center even said it’s a game. (Smh) So you get approved for the house (awesome). Part they don’t tell they review your application and again and while they do that they allow others to still apply for the house your approved for and guess what there was ppl before in limbo waiting for that 2nd review they don’t tell you about. And it’s up to the leasing agent to call you and tell you the move in cost so if someone else comes in and pays your out of the house. And these agents (in office/work from home ) are never able to reply to emails make calls etc. GOOD LUCK🤞🏽 .
Honestly, if youre looking for a leasing company to work with PLEASE do yourself a favor and do not work with MSRenewal. Youll save yourself a lot of time and wasted energy. The issues started at the very beginning with us not having an operational stove (it was brand new but had the wrong cord and couldnt be plugged in and was left that way until we put a maintenance request in after moving in). That was a smaller issue, and besides having the sewage back up into the home several times which I can admit they did fix pretty quickly on both occasions we had minimal issues for a while.September of 2020 we started experiencing the hot water in our master bathtub not turning off all the way. Because of the pandemic and it being a persistent leak the issue happened on and off until the end of December 2020. During that time our water bill and gas bills effectively doubled and we had virtually no hot water as the tank couldnt keep up. We had to hear pouring water all night and leave the bathroom windows open in the dead of winter to keep our bathroom from steaming up and the paint from peeling. We tried to submit a concessions request in December, but when the issue started up yet again we were told that the concession review would be closed until after the issue was fully resolved - makes sense, right? Well, I called in 01/22/21 to submit the request again and was told it takes 15-30 days for them to respond but typically shorter. I called in the following Friday for another issue and to check on the status of my claim only to be told that it was never submitted.... Hmmm weird as I went through the entire process with a rep on the phone. The only thing I could do was resubmit and wait, again being told it takes 15-30 days. I called every 2 weeks or so to check in and was told it hadnt been the 30 days so to wait. On 02/26/21 I called once again because it had been 28 days and still no response. I was told BY THE REPRESENTATIVE that this was odd and to absolutely call again Monday 03/01/21 since it was past the deadline, but in the mean time she gave me an email address to submit the information and bills to to jump star the process. I call back on Monday, and now this representative is telling me it takes 45-60 days; I call back a few days later and Im told 30-45 days. At this point Im being given a lot of inconsistent answers, but all I can do is wait. Im contacted 2 weeks later asking me to resubmit my bills both prior and new since the issue for review and the bills show almost $300 in overages. Im thinking it might not cover all of it but may cover most. I hear back yesterday that my concession of $43.64 is approved, and when I ask for someone to call to explain why with the details of the bill Im simply emailed back that they reviewed my concession as a courtesy and its not a guarantee and the amount is final no further explanation or acknowledgement. They are absolutely disgusting and have no empathy nor care for tenants other than the rent they can pay. Im a model tenant, pay my rent on-time every time in full for over 18 months and thats the response I can manage to get. I will be getting out of my lease and this property as fast as legally possible and take my money and family elsewhere. Im begging you; if you want to rent please dont come here. There are plenty of places that are cheaper and with better care. The effort I took for this petty $43 wasnt even worth it and has actually left my blood boiling. Hoping to save whoever reads this the same anguish and stress.Happy House Hunting!
I must say I am HIGHLY frustrated with Main Street Renewal, I have been renting a property for 1.5 years now and was recently promoted within my organization and have to relocate by the end of the month. I cannot apply for a new property in Texas where I am being relocated until I get this issue with Main Street Renewal resolved but I cant seem to connect with anyone that is willing to provide assistance. I have called the local office (That is closed and has been closed for a year) to speak with someone but I only seem to be redirected to off shore customer service representatives that tell me I cant break my lease and nothing can be done. Ive been great tenant, paid rent on time and sometimes even paid rent 4 months in advance. Main Street Renewal would rather me pass up a promotion Ive worked hard for just because I have 6 months left on my lease. All I want is to speak with the Regional Manager to have this issue resolved and the off shore reps all say they do not know who the Regional Manager is and cannot provide contact information for the Regional Manager, how? This is insane, my neighbor had to go through the same thing with this company when he was promoted. If you are looking to lease a property with Main Street Renewal please please please think twice. Communication is awful and the customer service could use major coaching as well.
Great customer service! Everything I needed done was handled pretty quick and my concerns were validated by the associate I spoke to 👍🏾
The representative that helped me was very attentive and handled my request quickly.
Paid $200 application fee for a rental home.....Main Street Renewal rented the house to someone else before they could finish our application.....i asked for the $200 application fee to be refunded ....they said no we will not refund the $200 application fee.....but we will apply towards another rental home .....i explained that they had no other rental homes even remotely close to where we were looking.....there response was you are not getting your $200 back and hung up
I applied to a property on April 20th using my voucher. Someone emailed me to file out my RTA. I sent the needed information. Today is April 29th and I’ve sent several emails about my application status. I call every day to be told it’s still processing. Being that I’m using a voucher your on a time limit and no one has money to waste on fees. Still no word if I’m approved or not. This has been a horrible experiences
DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!!SAVE YOUR MONEY, FRUSTRATION AND FAMILY FROM THEM!!WORST COMPANY EVER..they refused to FIX ANY OF our issues fully! The company as a whole is horrible. They really do not care about their tenants, just racking up the money from rent(which is high). We have opened a active LAWSUIT against them for everything we have been through!
We found the house of our dreams in Sharpsburg but due to the lack of communication with this firm we settled for an apartment. They took our money for the application and literally never emailed of called or returned any calls. Worst ever! STAY CLEAR OF THESE CROOKS!
Representatives always are willing to do the best they can to fix or help thesituations.
Excellent Experience. They were phenomenal. They even helped me identify with a person scamming and pretending to own a certain property that had absolutely nothing to deal with Main Street. I 1000 percent recommend. Main Street Renewal to anyone looking to rent a home.
Once you sign your lease, you become someone elses problem. No one seems to have any direct contact with anyone else. 30+ minute hold times to speak to a supervisor who is really good at saying Let me send an email or a follow-up email out to that department and Ill reach back out to you once they follow up. Ive been contacting them for nearly 6 months because they are charging me for utilities. Instead of fixing it, they are continuing to charge me.
I had a call with Allen today and he showed exemplary customer service skills and was very knowledgeable and helpful!
I am a new resident to GA after relocating from Baltimore, MD. I was skeptical about leasing through Mainstreet Renewal because I saw some not so good reviews. However, I decided to take a chance and gain my own experience & I must say that I have been very pleased thus far. Whenever I have a maintenance request, if I have to call the representatives are always friendly & responsive. When I submit my requests online, they respond in a timely manner. The maintenance technicians are always courteous, professional & efficient. My only concern is that we just moved to our home in June & every time we get one situation taken care of, something else goes wrong & needs to be fixed. However, they always handle it appropriately, even when an outside vendor is needed.
Edit: honestly on the other side I do not recommend them. On move out I was charged for floor damage that a delivery person did. Mainstreet had it on file that it was done by a delivery, they also only had to send an invoice and the delivery company would of paid for all damages. They had this information for months and never filed a claim. The damage occurred in November i moved out in February and though they claimed they contacted the company and all was well and I wasnt going to be charged. I was. They also charged us for broken cabinets when it was their maintenance man that decided to just take the cabinet doors off instead of fix them.Great management company all of the staff is super helpful and professional. All our issues have been handled quickly. Would rent from then again.
