I have been doing taxes with Cornell for 10 years and continued to even though it’s apparent his health is declining. He had an assistant named Shari that in past has been helpful. I had been in correspondence about my taxes starting in dec/Jan, setup an appointment to file, and they pushed my appointment back to a few days before tax filing was due. Then the day of the appointment Shari informs me she cannot file my taxes bc it’s too complicated. I of course cannot find anyone that short of notice and so close to the tax deadline, but she assures me she’ll file extensions for my businesses. Come to find out she did NOT file extensions and I only found out after getting hit with a huge late penalty. She also managed to file a bunch of 1099’s incorrectly and charged me for them. I not sure what’s going on over there, but this is not professional or how you should conduct business.
The lady that did my taxes seemed to be preoccupied with fixing another problem while doing my taxes, so she managed to put in wrong account number for my direct deposit, and she seemed very unapologetic, and tried blaming me for not double checking her, i paid you for me to double check you, laughable. Thanks for screwing up !!
Very disappointed in the treatment I had today at Business Planners in Smyrna. I have never seen anyone roll their eyes and act unprofessional like this. I have been out of work with a parent that just passed with cancer. I have been dealing with tax accountants and tax attorneys. Everyone knows a tax attorney is expensive. I was asking for help and left feeling like I had been lectured and talked down to. My paperwork was slung at me and was told she did not want to fool with this. I was told they dont just skip years of tax preparation. I have gotten everything I need from the IRS. So maybe a little EMPATHY for people would not hurt.
