I HIGHLY recommend this Karate School if you live in/or around the Smithtown area. Mrs. Fierro is EXTREMELY knowledgeable with her 40+ years of training and teaching. I am honored to have personally worked with her over the years. This is a great place for the whole family to get fit while learning self defense and discipline. This school is a haven. Here, you have the opportunity to learn isshinryu karate from Sensei Fierro. Isshinryu karate is a relatively recent but traditional style of karate. It is taught here in a way that cares for your body and your mind, so that both can grow. Isshinryu karate is plenty effective, and you will be taught how to use it. I honestly recommend not looking for videos of this style on youtube - most of what you will see is not up to par with the martial arts taught within.Sensei Fierro has been teaching for over thirty years and is highly skilled and dedicated, both as a teacher and as a martial artist. When you join the school, you will be joining a family, and you will be cared for unconditionally.There are classes for kids from 4 years old (ish) and up (all the way to adults). If your child is very young, speak with sensei Fierro and shell help you determine if the program is right for your child yet, or whether it is better to wait a little.
