Genco built my pool 4 years ago. We love the pool but the attention to details and after the build was lacking.1. The training and support after the build was poor. I had to learn mostly on my own.2. The surface of the pool was not done well.3. I understand concrete does 2 things, it dries and it cracks. After just one year I had many spots starting to crack. The hot tub should of had rebar to prevent sinking. I believe they cut corners. I have a hard time believing concrete deck cracking that quickly. My advice is to rebar troubled spots.4. When you call Genco for service the service dept acts like you are bothering them. Not friendly at all.5. I was supposed to have a flagstone border on my original design around the pool. I didn’t get that and it was too late to change.Genco did an average job on my pool. I would not recommend them to any of my friends or family to use them.
Tested a pool water sample and gave me the report. All I needed was a couple bags of salt and were good to go. Happy summer everyone!
They had what I needed at an affordable price. Lots of selection in here.
Genco has done a lot of work for me over the years. They are professional, reliable and reasonably priced for the work they do. I would certainly recommend them.
Great service and always has my supplies !!

As one of Greenvilles premier full service luxury home builders and remodelers, we at Heritage and our clients have high expatiations. Todd and his team at Genco Pools have surpassed them every time. From conception through completion, Genco has the expertise to handle anything from the most complex install down to servicing the pools all year long.
First, let me start by saying, I was a huge fan of Genco. I was a customer at the retail store frequently, recommended them to many people, and used them to service my pool (close it at year end, water issues, etc) many times. With that, I will NEVER step foot in this facility again and they will never receive a further dime from me for anything related to my pool after this project. I chose them to install a new liner, a variable speed pump, LED light and converted my pool to salt water. It was one of the worst experiences with a contractor weve had.I signed the initial contract on April 30th, had the liner picked out by May 3rd, and the project not fully completed until the 1st week of June. Up until the end of May, being generous, the company was only at our house for probably a total of 10 hours, before the bulk of any work was started. Where I made a mistake, I signed the contract with no time frames/completion dates listed on the contract.Once the work did start, the communication was terrible. I was the one initiating the conversation as to what is going to happen and when, and when did I need to be home when the work started. Starting on a Tuesday, I was told theyd be there Wednesday. Tuesday night, received a text that they couldnt make it Wednesday, but theyd be there Thursday. Same thing Wednesday night and was then told Friday was a lock. I communicated that I would stay home from work and was assured theyd be there Friday. Friday morning by 9.30, after I already took a day off of work, was informed that they couldnt make it. I had to make arrangements to work from home the following Monday when work was transpiring.I was provided multiple excuses as to why our project had been delayed, but frankly, it wasnt my problem. I wouldve been fine knowing that the project would take over a month, but there was no communication about time frames and expectations were never set or met. The person in charge of the project was frequently condescending towards myself and my wife, and even referring to my wife as outright rude in a text message. Questions we posed were usually met with some form of attitude like we were inconveniencing them for even asking. One of the employees that came out frequently finally admitted to my wife that he was not a technician, but he was a pool designed; admitting that his job was to be at a computer designing pools.Once the liner was finally installed and the pool filled, we had the new LED light pop out of the niche and float to the top of the pool. They came and fixed it, and literally the next day it popped out again. The pictures included look like theyre the same picture, but theyre from two different days. After the second time the light was fixed, the liner lock started to pop out. The came to fix the liner lock, but it continues to need to be reset as its popping out all around the pool. When all the new hardware was finally installed (pump, salt system, control panel, and light control), the wiring is literally just laying all around the equipment with no type of cable management done, which I will go back and neaten up.At the end of the day, I have zero confidence in the quality of work that was preformed. Once we started to get in the pool, we noticed multiple areas in the shallow end where there seems to be large rocks under the liner, which is very concerning. Considering the cost of this project, I feel we were not given the appropriate attention from this company.I will never use Genco again and I will never recommend this establishment again. Even though some of the warranty on the work/hardware would be from Genco, I will pay another company if I run into issues in the future as opposed to take advantage of the warranty from Genco.
Theres one guy at the store who really knows his stuff. I can not recommend for maintenance/open/close. Bad experience several years ago.
Had a great experience with a new liner installation and winterization by Genco. Would recommend them for your pool installation, remodeling or service needs.
We had built a pool with a different company at our old house and had a terrible experience. We went with Genco and it was the best decision we could have made. From day one to first swim they were professional, easy to reach and communicate with, and HONEST. We were so happy that we recommended them to several of our friends and neighbors who have decided to use them. Call them and meet with them before you sign with anyone else.
Very helpful staff!
Needed a lot of work done. Met with Todd and he went right to work. Did a lot more than I expected!! I am so happy with the results and the service I got. Recommend Todd and his crew 100%.
Great service and customer support. Pool install and quality was excellent. Extremely recommended for all your pool requirements.
Great staff!
Honest people. I went in and would have spent a few hundred dollars on stuff I really didnt need, but they talked me out of it. I highly recommend them for your pool and spa needs!
We love our pool. I used to be in the pool business (many years ago) and know the challenges of keeping a pool customer happy. Genco has been a pleasure to work with from the first meeting to the completion of the pool.
LOVE Genco! we built a custom gunite pool and Genco has been awesome to work with throughout the design, installation, and upkeep. I would highly recommend Todd, Doug, and the whole Genco team!
Disappointed doesnt even begin to cover it. We have called to have our pool serviced at least 5 times, probably more if I am being honest, and have been given the run around each time. They rescheduled every time and then guaranteed a date and never showed up and wouldnt call us back. I would not recommend Genco!
Good people
I used Genco for 20 years for various things big and small. Had them rebuilt my in groundplaster pool a few years ago at my old house. Dan sent his crew ofmany !!! and finished a 20x 40 feet pool in 2 days. I want a new poolinstalled at my new house and expect him to give me a quote soon.If you want anything major or minor done they are the team to do it
My overall pool project eventually turned out well but was well beyond estimated time and well over budget. It took a LOT of work to get everything correct and ultimately only happened by holding out the final payment. When the service work began (which I prepaid for 1 year in advance) it was NEVER done correctly, and they never seemed to care to make it right.
I just use Genco for supplies. So I cant comment on construction or management. But it is easy to get in and out with what you need to keep your pool clean.
Very helpful staff, and several of them know me by name before I even make it fully through the door. They have a full line of products for my pool and have never steered me wrong.
Worth reading the review just in case you end up with a possible problem.Almost two years ago our pool was redone. I originally met with a different owner of a pool company to do the project. Before moving forward I was given Dan Balls name and number. We met, looked over and talked about the project. After talking with Dan, I knew without any doubt I wanted him and “Genco Pools and Spas to move forward with the project. Dan even quoted me around $5,000 more than the other company on item for item. I added extra items (deck coating, light, control panel, pump & filter system). Dan was great to work with the whole time. Everything looked and turned out great! There were a few little things to button up on the over all project such as the Multiport (was leaking), unscrewing floor returns, getting the remote control for the control box, etc. While waiting to get the items mentioned above taken care of, I noticed that the pump was having a hard time priming. I waited and waited to get everything finished up (NEVER DID). I ended up shutting the pool down for winter. The following spring I started the pool up and noticed that I kept having to add water. I called to follow up on the Multiport because I was tired of adding water (much less the cost to do so). Finally, Dan/Genco sent someone out to replace the Multiport and unscrew the floor returns. The service tech called me out when he was finished making the repairs. He told me that he didnt have the right tool to set the floor returns, but he wanted to show me the repairs to the Multiport. While we were standing there waiting for the pump to prime he asked me, Have you always had a problem getting the pump to prime?” I still didnt get the floor returns set or the remote for the control box, but I was thinking that finally I will not have to keep adding as much water with the leak from the Multiport stopped. Well... That was not the case. I called and let Dan know I was still having problems getting the pump to prime and the pool was leaking. He stated that the pool ran fine the first year. I said, “Dan, you know that it didnt. I have called and called you.” Anyways, almost two years later the pool is leaking at a rate of around 4 per 12 hour period. I have yet to hear from Dan with Genco Pools and Spas since our last phone conversation, which was almost 8 months ago.
Always sells me what 3I need. Not what I dont
Used them for years for pool supplys.Brandon is a great help really knows his stuff about pools and spas
Always helpful and knowledgeable when we need parts for our spa.
Great customer service. They are my pool people.
Always helpful
Went in looking for pricing on a pool. The guy did not give us much time nor did he seem like he wanted to help. A shame for this company as I was looking to spend 60k. He did not acknowledge my son either.
Great supplies at a great cost.
Not very customer friendly
