I have debated about writing this review because I generally do not write public reviews like this. After such a negative and totally bizarre experience with Double Dragon Computer Repair, though, I want to make sure anyone considering hiring Eddie Penland is aware of his business practices and how he treats a customer.He quoted me a price to replace my hard drive which seemed steep to me, so I asked him to give me a breakdown on the price. Because the price was getting close to what I could purchase a new computer for, I asked for more details. He would not give me a price breakdown, saying that he had a set price and “had to feed his family.” There was a large discrepancy between the cost of a hard drive (that I could easily find online) and the price he was charging me. He grew extremely belligerent and told me to come pick up my computer and pay the $60 diagnostic fee (which he NEVER informed me about) and he would not work on it. He then backed off on the fee and told me to come pick up my computer and had the arrogance to tell me to never call him again (as if!). I was professional and courteous throughout this whole exchange and have never been spoken to like this in a business situation. I would recommend that if you think about doing business with him, get his pricing info up front since it’s apparently already predetermined and understand that he may ask for a diagnostic fee if you choose not to do business with him.

I spilled water on my laptop, and the touchpad quit working; then the keyboard went down as well. I took it to Best Buys Geek Squad and the dude told me I might as well just buy another computer because the way my computer is built, theyd have to replace the whole motherboard. I decided to get a second opinion and make sure.I contacted Eddie through his website, and he responded immediately - like 30 seconds later (talk about fast!!). He told me that it probably didnt need an entire motherboard, just a new keyboard. The touchpad was iffy, but he would see what he could do.He met me outside to talk and was very easygoing and nonthreatening (for single young woman, thats important to me). I let him keep the computer while he waited on the new parts to come in. Not even a week later, my computer AND the touchpad were fixed and working as good as new! And for a VERY reasonable price - easily ten times less than I would have paid for a new computer of the same model. He showed me where the damage was on the old piece of my keyboard, and we discussed how I could keep from having my computer damaged again. Later, he texted me with a cool solution, a protective silicone sleeve for the keyboard, and offered to order it for me for the product cost. Very proactive!I highly recommend Eddie if youre looking for someone experienced and honest about their work. 10/10 will definitely use again!

Eddie gave me a quote and an estimated time for the job completion, and was actually finished ahead of time. Easy to communicate with, really professional, and I highly recommend! My issue was the internal area where the power cord slots in, needed replacing. Fast and efficient servicce and willd ef use Eddie again for any computer issues that I have

I called Double Dragon to see if he could help fix my computer fan that was not working. When I spoke with the owner, he was very honest and helpful. He guided me and told me what product(s) I would need for him to fix/install. He worked very fast on it and I had it back that same day. I would definitely go back and use Double Dragon Computer Repair.

The definition of customer service!Eddie at Double Dragon was great from the start. First I called and he gladly listened and help discuss my issue over the phone. I have an older MacBook Pro that they would no longer service at the Apple store.I took my MacBook to Eddie and he worked quickly, was very nice and polite and kept me informed the entire time.It was completed on time, at a fair price and I’m so glad to have my computer back up and running!

I would give 10 stars if I could. Ed is AWESOME! So knowlegable, personal and professional. He repaired my Dell and advised me on upgrading to a SSD. I was hesitant as Im not very p.c. literate but after looking at his reviews I went for it. Now it works better than brand new. Was very reasonable and prompt. He really has a heart too. He hooked us up, SO glad I chose him. I dont know how anybody could have a problem with him, unless their looking for free service. Thanks SO much Ed!!

We are so grateful we stumbled onto Double Dragon Computer Repair for our technology needs. A critical hard drive at our business went down, and three other shops turned us away saying it was beyond salvaging. But Eddie was able to retrieve our data! Since then we have had him do a wide variety of things in our business and our home, like replace numerous cracked screens on laptops, phones, and gaming devices, build computers for us, handle networking needs etc. He can do just about anything, hes quick to answer texts, and he even makes house calls. He charges fair market prices, and stands behind his work. I would happily recommend him to anyone as we are fully satisfied repeat customers.

Dont know what the guy at bottom of this review had happen but Eddie did a great job for me! The first time he showed up my router died and he did everything he could without router and said he would come back out when I got a new router. I contacted him a few days later and he came out that day and on time just like the initial visit. He installed my printer, fixed my WiFi up and explained everything very well. 100 dollars well spent and will do business with Ed again in a heartbeat. If you have to have a geek squad kid in a Polo company shirt for 300 dollars, dont call Eddie. If you need a knowledgeable, capable, down to earth guy who can get the job done at a reasonable price... Eddies your man.

Im A Dj So Uneasy At first Handing my baby over .. Double Dragon Computer Did Great work .They got my computer back up running all my programs just how i lift from last .communication excellent threw whole process . ..need your computer work on i recommend..

Would recommend wholeheartedly. My Nexus 5 phone had a faulty power button causing it to permanently bootloop, preventing me from even getting my files off it. I contacted nearly every big repair place around and they all either told me that the phone was too old so they wouldnt work on it, or since they couldnt order a replacement part directly from the manufacturer that they wouldnt even touch it. Even when I offered to order the necessary part from iFixit myself, I was still rebuffed no matter where I turned. Several places even tried to argue with me that the problem couldnt be the power button and I had no idea what I was talking about, even though I had done extensive research and opened up the phone to inspect it and confirm the problem. Then I got into contact with Ed at DDCR, and the experience was like night and day. Right away he was helpful, listened to me explain the problem in detail, offered to open the device up and look it over, and said he would replace the faulty part with the replacement I bought ASAP. I gave him the replacement button when it came in, and he got my phone functioning by the next day despite how difficult a soldering job it was since the part was so small. He even got all my files off the phone and backed them up onto a flash drive for me in case the problem arose again. Through the whole process he was friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to listen, which is much more than I can say for every other place I tried to get in touch with. Based on my experience, if you live in the area and have a problem with any kind of electronics, go to Ed at DDCR right away. Guarantee you wont be disappointed and will have your problems solved quickly and easily. 5/5 in every aspect.

I called the owner to come out and make sure my computer was running at optimal condition and to clear the nuisance of the Windows 10 alert that keeps popping up. He decided that best he could do was Saturday the 25th at 2:00, at 2 i texted him as he had not arrived, he said he was going to be late due to family issues, i totally understood, he got here at 2.30, he checked my systems, deleted some files that were not needed and supposedly deleted the microsoft update, on Sunday night the pop up came back, i texted him Monday, he got extremely rude in the text, saying i called him out there for nothing anyway, that he fixed it, and took my $100.00, then said in his return text i should not be calling anybody out there for nothing, well if it was nothing why did he take my money and then proceeded to berate my in the text, that i was a jerk, i should not have wasted his time, i paid him for his time, it was his choice when to come out and that he wanted nothing else to to with me, and could luck findiing another tech, i have screen shots saved of the whole conversation where he treated my like it was my fault, and i was the jerk, but yet he performed a service, took my money and the service did not work, i would not use this person again, and i suggest that anybody thinking about using him, think again, i have owned my own company for 23 years, i have never thought about treating a paying customer like that. His name is Edmond Penland, and he will take your money for nothing, as he put it, there was nothing wrong with my computer, then why take my money, charge me a trip fee and lets do business again, but no he took it to another level with his rude texts.

I cant recommend Eddie enough, he diagnosed my problem for me within an hour. Dropped my computer off and got it back within the same day!
