This is a competently-run charity. They are clear about what donations they are looking for, and they improve life for many of our citizens. I wonder, however, if it is necessary to ask for your name, address, phone number, and email address before you drop off any item. It seems a bit invasive, and I expect a ton of solicitous emails if not phone calls
Ive been donating to AWC for years. Whether its an interaction in person, by phone or email, they staff and the employees are responsive, professional, and supportive. Great service to the community, fantastic crew.
Finally found a place to take my quality suits and dress shirts...from bygone office days. Very good organization!
Great place to donate furniture. They help unload stuff.
A great place to give back to our community---help the less fortunate among us make a home, too.
This is one of the more excellent places that give to the underserved. The items they gave to my young brother who came out of jail with nothing were so nice, clean and good quality. Thank you Wider Circle the staff is awesome too.
Daddy was very helpful and nice with customer service whats excellent and also as the the man that packed my vehicle was very nice and kind thank you wider circle when more people in the world like you all ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
We were able to donate a bed in a box in the mail mattress that wasnt working for us. Everyone was really helpful and professional, and the mission is laudable.
From start to finish every person that has assisted me here has been great. The gentleman that assisted me today were amazing!!!Very proffessional, kind, and soo giving!!!I needed some items for my little one and found out about this gem.I will definitely be inorming family and friends about it.Thank you soooo much!!!!
Convenient way to donate furniture, including mattress.
Very nice people, very helpful...
What a fantastic organization! I worked with Katie and Jamie today and from beginning to end their kindness and help was stellar. It is very important not to look down on others in need for you can one day be in that very same position. It takes great skill to make people having hard times not feel like they are less than.Bravo to you both and to A Wider Circle for their customer service, staff, location and quality items.Keep Up The Great Work . you never know who youre helping :)
Most amazing place I’ve ever encountered. The kindness and generosity left me literally speechless and in tears..gives me hope in humanity. I can’t believe that strangers would care about me and my family this much. A true gem of a place.
Brendon was very rude when I stopped by in February. For some reason he must not enjoy his job
Honored to drop off donations for my daughter and Son
Great place to get assistance friendly ppl
Got a great start at A Wider Circle, with two complete suits for interviews. Now I can return more than two suits to donate. Thank you AWC
It was a socially distanced friendly experience during this pandemic. Hands off, they put all the items in the truck. I was contacted prior to the pick up for confirmation of the items I wanted. I was able to see what they were giving me and make exchanges at that time. I am very appreciative of the way they handled it.
I hihgly recommend donating here, if you can and have things they need. Highly energetic volunteers assisted me.
They didnt just meet my expectations, they exceeded them! Carol was the sweetest, kindest and most lazer-focused person Ive met in a long time. She went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed by going on in-search-of missions and delivering! 😘😘😘Bob and his team made the packing of the truck seem effortless. KUDOS TO A WIDER CIRCLE AND ALL THE STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS!!!! YOU ROCKED!!!
Although its used furniture the furniture is in very good condition and they ensure that its all pests free. I also loved the fact that they have someone talk to you who can extend other social community resources in case you need them 🙂
WOW backwardsNO DOUBT ABOUT ITHANDS DOWNAINT NO HALF STEPPIN
I am so lucky that a colleague of mine told me about a Wider Circle. The person who assisted me was Adam. He is very friendly and punctual. He helped me prepare for interviews and improve my cover letter and CV. His tips were very helpful that one month later, I got my dream job! I am so grateful for a Wider circle. I had an excellence service for free! Those people are the best!
Our family has been giving to Wider Circle for many years. They are trustworthy, dedicated and extremely well run--a pleasure to work with! I am sincerely impressed by their ability to organize and make a meaningful impact in our community.
Provided us with a generous amount of baby/toddler-related paraphernalia. We are speechless!
I have been donating to Wider Circle for years and I recommend others to do so. I was a young mother and needed something like this when I was in transition. I am so happy to be able to help others like me now.
This place is really organized. The staff is so nice and seem like they really want the client to have a great experience at getting the things they need for their home. This was my first time here as a client. I didnt find a couch but i found some great chairs and other things for my home. I had a great experience. Hope to now go back as a volunteer.
Great place to help low income families with furniture, and clothing. Through a work program theyll provide work clothes, shoes, and jewelry for first two weeks of work! Really a fantastic organization that strives to help people get on their feet! Give them a call if you need assistance.
My only experience is in dropping off lots of dress clothes and shoes after retiring. Personnel were friendly and helpful. It looks like a huge operation. The founder came to speak at the retirement community where I worked and showed great commitment to the mission of outfitting disadvantaged persons trying to get back into the workplace.
The boot camp was a awesome experience not only for myself but my son as well. I am forever grateful for the experience and meeting wonderful people in the mix!
Awesome place 2 get furniture & other items u need 4 ur home.
Although I am very grateful that I received free furniture, I was not satisfied with most of the Items I received. I was told that most of the items I requested would be available, however, there were significant Items missing from the Items I actually got. In adition to the furniture I got, I was told I would receive a box of household goods..what I received was; one plate, a bowl, a glass, a knife, fork and spoon, some sort of cutting board and a queen size bedsheet I wouldnt put on a dogs bed.To be fair they did warn me that I would not be able to come inside the facility to pick out the items myself because of the COVID-19 pandemic so I really shouldnt complain, they did their best. On the positive side of things, I received a beautiful sofa and chair so that made up for the disapointing items. My advice to anyone going to A Wider Circle for free furniture and household items is this; keep your expections low and pick out your own stuff 😊😊.
Such a wonderful place. Full of beautiful items and the staff is so wonderful. They treated my family with such love and respect.Thank you all so much. The Crank family
I appreciate the fact that this organization is helping people less fortunate! Although its a little frustrating to gather the funds to rent a vehicle, only to get there and they have very little to offer. Ex..no pots n pans. I was only able to get 4 items so $$ wasted on the truck. But its free...Im grateful!
Great place to donate!!! Friendly and very appreciative staff!
Dont go running to get big uhaul truck and movers, you may only find one item worth taking home. Oh and you must sign waiver for bed bugs, give information about work and immigration status for them to get grants to accept more junk to give the poor people, Lol. I have no idea where the items come from look like in 60s nursing homes or something, power to those who found their dream pieces... Anyways to God be the Glory.
They watched me unload my truck but helped the guy next to me. Awful
Very nice and helpful
I went to donate one month old mattress and the employees did all the unloading, they make sure that you stay in your car to practice social distancing, they sent you the receipt over email to avoid contact, you can ask for the paper form if you really need it, you have to call in to make an appointment and drop off the items. They accept professional clothing to help people that need an outfit for interviews and such, all the donations are given to people in need without charge.
This place is a God send. If you are struggling for that reason & need home goods from mattresses to office desks to lamps this is where you should come. They only accept donations in good quality! For example they will not accept a diner table with 3 chairs it must be a full set no wobbly chairs here. Plus no need to worry about bed bugs or any bugs. This should be your 1st stop to repairing your home.
Thanks for helping the community! 🙌Great dishes, childrens toys, clothes and nice furniture to make a House a home. Friendly and helpful staff onsite. Needed a u-haul and I still have wonderful dishes given to me from here by a friend/late brother-in-law who I happened to drive here for his new place. He was so happy, Too Busy picking out girls clothes for his infant daughter than he was selecting furniture. He did and was so happy with everything. We even picked out childrens books and games. Id love to donate here. Thank you All! Blessings
Excellent service very personal, professional.
Love what they do for people.
This was a wonderful experience for me. The staff were very polite and helpful. They had a variety of household items that were in very good condition. They also had volunteers to help carry and load heavy items. I was so grateful for the wider circle. Thanks to the donations of others, my house feels like a home. Thank you
A Wider Circle is THE BEST resource center that I have experienced thus far! I volunteered at the organization about a month ago through a scholars program (One Million Degrees) that I am in. This place has so much to offer. Clothing, furniture, housewares, and also resources for job preparedness. It was more than I would have ever imagined a resource center to be. The staff and other volunteers were so kind and professional. The environment was welcoming and clean. I plan to volunteer again, so that I can help contribute to ending the cycle of poverty along with Mark and others. I applaud this organization, and give them two thousand thumbs up.Sincerely,Yolanda D. Flowers
I love this place this my third time with them love the furniture and the people need places like this all over
Its very nice place and the people there are so respectful and helpful and the furniture is absolutely wonderful it helped me and my family and were forever grateful for all of there help
Wonderful place.Very orderly. Professional staff who are friendly and helpful to those in need. Long time for appointments - waited one year! However, well worth it!
I feel blessed to know about this organization. The staff was friendly and informative. The furniture I selected is neat and enjoyable. I am grateful and I plan to donate in the future. I highly support all the good things they are doing.
Know what you are getting into. Come earlier than your schedule time. Check for bugs. And definitely disinfect after you purchase. Peace.
Very helpful organization. Excellent staff. Anyone trying to make changes in there life, expand there possibilities, and reach there full potential...need to take advantage of this opportunity. My communication is better, I have more self esteem, and more ambition. I highly recommend this free service to anyone.
Thankful to have found this organization to donate to. Their mission of dignity to families in transition was evident as was their respect for the integrity of those who are served.
Ive been donating my childrens furniture and gently used clothing here for years. They are truly the best-run furniture and clothing charity in the DC area. For families who suffered through apartment fires or other disasters this is a wonderful place to get a leg-up as they get their lives together.
Very friendly with many volunteers who assist in all your needs. I had th ed pleasure to work with a wonderful young lady we ho has been following up with me since my visit. if you donate or come to pick up, you will enjoy your visit.
Thank you so much for helping my family out, we really appreciate the staff excellent service. We now have a furnished home to come home to. Thank you so much!!!! All of our furniture was in excellent condition and our beds are brand new.

My experience of A Wider Circle: warmly welcomed, impeccable service, caring hearts (and smiles), and dignifying donations. Today was my second visit - I came home with a lightly used second-hand memory foam queen-size bed. I am ever grateful. Since Im a Christian, the highest thanks I can give is a prayer I already made to God to continue to bless your organisation and your good work. Many thanks and God Bless!
I have visited A Wider Circle several times assisting others with picking up furniture items. Thumbs up to the staff there. They were very friendly, helpful, patient and courteous. 👍👍👍👍
Spent the day helping out here at this facility. This group offers a valuable service to those needing help getting on their feet. They help make it possible for their clients to succeed in a profitable career and add a feeling of dignity and security to their lives.
I think this is a really amazing place! They help individuals and family’s prepare for the professional environment. Helping people who have nothing to be prepared to interview and feel great while doing it!
A good organisation making life easy for people who cant afford to get expensive stuff. You can donate furniture to them and they see to it that people who need them get them. Good poverty allegation plan My Volunteering experience was amazing as well
Amazing Organization. Great staff. Friendly and clean environment . I felt loved. Thank u so much for all🙏🙏
I have dealt with Mark, Anne, Pam and Chanel at A Wider Circle. I have been very pleased. They run a top notch, clean and organized non profit and wholeheartedly believe that we can end poverty. They serve others selflessly and encourage the community to be involved in helping to end poverty as well. I have had the opportunity to have my sons class volunteer there, help 2 families with Christmas gifts and we are beginning an Eagle Scout project at A Wider Circle. They are a good example for me and I enjoy working with them.
This is by far one of the most worthy charitable organizations in the area. They do such amazing work and I feel thankful they are here. This is where we donate everything because they care about the people they are helping and treat everyone with respect. Just love them!!
What a wonderful day volunteering at Wider Circle in Springfield. Already thinking about my next visit.

Another great service opportunity in this community where you can help out your fellow humans. The organization provides gently-used clothing and home items to help people help themselves. The staff is great to work with!
Had a great experience at this place I highly recommend this location to donate gently used items as it will be used to those in need who need items for there home as they rebuild
Great people! This is one of the most incredible organizations around. Giving clothes and furniture to people who actually need them. Prepping people for job interviews etc. I love this organization.
Everyone is friendly and helpful. Im grateful to this organization for their much appreciated help. God bless 🙏
What a great place. They accepted a lightly used mattress and box spring with no questions asked. Good Will wont do that. Everyone was very helpful and it felt good to donate to a good cause.
Great organization that does great things to alleviate poverty and help folks transition from homelessness, with dignity and grace. Plus the volunteers are always super helpful and cheery. Cant leave this place without your faith in humanity being reaffirmed.
The staff there are great. Good place to help you start your life over from being homeless.
The reason why i rated this a one star because i think someone who is really in need of help and needing furniture is the ones who do not have transportation and their own hauling ability and i believe that those who need the furniture should be able to get furniture and have the furniture delivered because it does not make sense for someone in need to be asked to haul the donated stuff they getting on their own. For example, if you do not drive, you do not have family or friends then how can someone get furniture from a place for free and they are in need too.I just dont think that is a right way to thinking. I would actually think the opposite of the way they do which is those who can drive must have money or their friends got money but regardless that is their thinking process.Someone who really needs the furniture is not getting the furniture due to the organization not being deliverable as that would make alot more sense. Those are the ones more in need.
Wa was sent there buy a counselor that I deal with needed some help with a Furniture items and some kitchen items very nice thank you Lord for the gift
Great place for students to volunteer and earn SSL hours! They do great work in helping people in need. Contact them if you want to donate furniture. Pick-ups can be scheduled in some cases...I think
Good place for those they really need help and need home goods
I love this place! There the best thing for everyone every community needs one.
This place is amazing. The items available for families in need is awesome. The fact these good people dont try and delve into your personal business or explain why you need help is a refreshing experience. They are simply there to help you thru your tough times. I dont live locally but still recommend them to anyone looking to donate items or in need because of the amazing work they do. Thank you for being actual humans with emotions which is lacking in todays day of age. Thank you a million times over!!
Excellent service to the community. Great place for kids to volunteer.
A good place to go when youre in need of furniture although its second hand also theres no charge just put your name on the list. Great organization.
Ive volunteered with Wider Circle and believe they do a fantastic job helping people transition to success. I will continue to bring clothes and useful items to help with this cause.
Amazing place. So much good goes on here! Planning to go back and volunteer again after holiday madness subsides.
I loved all of the staff and volunteers. Everyone is personable and very willing to help with any questions.
The clothes are nice and the pole treat you like family.
Weve gotten brand new full size beds (in plastic wrap)/w frame, a sofa and sofa bed, dining room tables/chairs. My son, friends and I LIKE and APPRECIATE, A Wider Circle; they have helped us out A LOT. Thank you VERY much.
Both of my parents are the products of generations of poor white folks; so, I appreciate the opportunities A Wider Circle offers for helping families with usable home goods and furniture that have served their purposes in my home. The warm reception when dropping off means a lot, and the process of arranging a pick-up is made simple.
Real personalized shopping. Felt great karma .
Great non-profit organization helping asylum seekers to gain some decent dress for the job interview.
These group of people are here to make a difference in the community and help the needy. You can also go and volunteer. Such a positive place. I love it.
Well marked off Brookvulle Rd. Easy for drop offs, they have volunteers. Do check their list of what they wont take before going! Great hours, great organization.
A Wider Circle is an awesome organization offering services to the community in the DC area. Their clients have the opportunity to find furniture and clothing for free and everyone is invited to join their movement to end poverty in the US by making donations.
I volunteered here last month and the staff were really willing to help everyone who came in and they knew exactly what to do and where everything was.
