Midwest Ground Effects were professional and consistently on time with their weekly mowing. We used their weed control service as well which was very effective.

I have used this company for several years and highly recommend them! They are there every week and do an excellent job of cutting the grass and doing the trim no matter how much. I have a fence and several beds and they are attentive to all of it. They also will do seasonal chem applications for less than you would pay if you did it yourself. They charge far less than other services I had and you can’t go wrong for hiring Russell and his team!

Ive used them the past 2 years for my yearly aeration and fertilizing schedule. Each time was been nothing but punctual and highest quality. My grass has been growing great since starting with them. We had a landscaping company that really wasnt working out and I called Midwest ground effects out of the blue and ask if they could come and mow my lawn. Not only did they come the next day but they did it for less than the original company. They have come every week and always text the day before to say when they will be there. I only had one issue with them which was resolved in 1 or 2 days. They are very responresp. I would recommend them highly to anyone.

Very disappointed with the services and general attitude from this pro. He was hired based on the positive reviews left on home advisor. A mistake on my part. Here is a rundown of events:-Contacted and spoke to Russell on Friday, September 20 to set up a one time mow and cut. Initial call was very friendly and we set a date for September 24 for the service. I was told he would contact me the Monday prior to confirm.-Monday, Sept. 23, no call from the company. I message them at 7:47pm to inform them about my yard, and to be cautious of a plant set in a small ring in my front yard. I gave the exact location of the plant. I received a response 5 minutes later “ok, I will pass this onto the crew”.-Tuesday, Sept. 24. Date of service. No show. I call around 6:45 pm to find out if they were going to show and get a generic voicemail greeting. I receive a text at 7:07pm saying “I guess the gps missed ur property today and I will get it tomorrow”. No apologies for missing a service date. Just blame it on the gps. My response to this message was simply “thank you”.-Wednesday, Sept 25. The crew shows up and starts the service. They are there for around 25 minutes and disappear. Upon inspection of the service, I find that they destroyed the plant I asked them to be cautious of. Large swatches of area not mowed. The back yard never was edged, and grass everywhere. As they stated there was no “cleanup” but they pass over the lawn 2-3 times and just blow the remaining clippings. There was no 2-3 passes. It was single as I was home. And the “blowing” of the clippings meant a brief pass over my rock edging (blowing more rocks into my lawn then grass) and over my mulched plant areas (lots of much in the grass now!)I can only assume this lack of care was possible because they didn’t provide the service on the agreed day, so they had to jam my service into a day that was already filled with other jobs.Upon messaging the owner and sharing pictures of the destroyed plant and completely uncut sections of my lawn, the response I got was “I told him about it but i guess he thought it was weeds since the grass was so long he didnt know... I am sorry about this”.(All quotes are copied and pasted directly from the messages received.)So no mention of the missed spots. Nothing for the lack of edging and unfinished job. Just blames the length of the grass. Let’s talk about that for a second. The plant stood a full foot over the grass, had bright purple flowers and buds, and had a mulch ring around it!I voiced my disappointment along with pictures of the shoddy job. At this point it has been 24 hours and they have chosen not to respond to offer some sort of resolution, something as simple as coming back to finish the parts missed or a partial refund for the destruction of property due to carelessness.I know i was just a one time cut, but the companies professionalism in this matter is poor. Pictures and screenshots are saved and available if anyone cares to see the “work” they did.I wouldn’t recommend this company to my worst enemy.
