Beware of Marks Service Center. Under new ownership as of March 2020, and the quality of the work and customer service has gone downhill dramatically. The 5 star reviews from 2019 and earlier no longer apply. The old owner, Mark, cared about his business and customers. New owner came in, made his nephew the manager, and from what I can gather from my phone calls, the manager maybe gets there by noon and is out the door by 3pm on an average day, if he makes it in at all. When Mark owned this place, it was hard to find a parking place there because they were working on so many cars. Lately, its been easy to find a parking spot. The Illinois State Police used to have their vehicles repaired there, but I dont see any ISP cars in their lot anymore. It doesnt surprise me. I have my own story about a them performing an incomplete brake line job in April 2020 (I didnt know Mark retired until after the work was done) and led to total brake failure and I had to crash the car to stop. (Totaled it). I hope everyone stays away from this place so they dont risk damage to their property or bodily harm.

Blew out my tire on 55, State Farm said 2 hrs. Called them and there in 15 min! Great service.

This morning my tire went out and wasnt holding any air at all. Thankfully I was right across the street and went over there hoping they could help. With in 15 minutes they repaired the hole in my tire and I was back on the road. They really saved me this morning for being in the right spot at the right time. Staff was professional and didnt charge me an arm and a leg for a repair. Thanks for saving my butt this morning!

From your basic oil change to random repairs, Mark’s is my one stop shop. The mechanics are extremely knowledgeable and the manager is exceptionally friendly. You can’t beat there prices or their level of customer dedication. I’ve been going to Mark’s for years and I will never take any of my truck anywhere else. Thank you to the entire staff.

I would highly recommend Marks. Ive had a few tows and called them also when I locked my keys in the car. The staff and tow truck drivers are very friendly and professional. They have always responded in a timely fashion.

Brought my car in for a fuel pump replacement. First repair worked fine for about one week. Then the fuel pump went out again. Had it towed back into the shop. They replaced it with another fuel pump which Now is working fine.

Marks Service Center is amazing. I was in need of a tow truck and car repair after an accident on I-55. The driver was kind and came within 30 minutes of my call for help. The service manager and technician were honest, knowledgeable and treated me with so much kindness. Super helpful at a stressful time.

Nothing but the best service and always honest. I have been going to Marks for the last ten years with three different used cars. Always makes sure I am treated with respect and treated fairly. I am knowledgeable of vehicles and I can always trust Mark and his team to be friendly and fair. I wouldnt take my vehicles anywhere else.

An important thing to remember when dealing with Marks Service Center. You dont have to worry about the mechanics telling you that your vehicle needs this or that when it really doesnt. They zero in on the problem, they fix it and that is it. Took my vehicle in on short notice with what I thought might be a major problem. Turned out it was not a major issue, and within an hour I was on the road again. Their honesty and fairness is beyond reproach.

My son and daughter live in the area and have been going to Marks for years and have always been satisfied with the work done and recommended we give them a try. I discovered Marks about 7 years ago and I recommend them to everyone. Every time I have had to have service done it has always been less than I expected and done very fast. All my family and friends have had the same experience. Great place!

I broke down on I-80 driving back from college. After waiting 2.5 hours for a different company to arrive, I called Marks Service Center and they arrived in minutes. Amazing service, fantastic man.

We felt that they were very honest,helpful and caring, the service was great and the waiting time was only an hour which they promised and the cost was pretty reasonable.

I was traveling through the area on the interstate when I snapped my left rear shock. They were swamped and somehow made time to just look and see if they could diagnose the issue. They could and gave me a rough estimate but said they couldnt do anything until the next day because they were so busy (I understand why--these people are great). Then when I said I needed it done today, they actively sought me help. You dont see that this day in age--they treated me like a person, not a paycheck. If Im ever back in Joliet, this will be the first place I call.

Marks Service Station is the best place to take your car PERIOD! For years I was taking my car to Pepboys and I was always coming out of there feeling like I was being over charged because I am a woman. I specifically remember going to Pepboys just for an oil change. I was recommended that I get other work done (cant remember exactly anymore) but told them I just wanted an oil change. I left Pepboys that day, and every time inwas at a stop light or stop sign my car cut off! At that time my car NEVER cut off on me whenever I stopped. I hurried up took my car back to Pepboys for them to tell me I REALLY NEED THAT WORK DONE THAT THEY RECOMMENED. I was furious!!!! I know in my heart they did something to my car and $900 later I told myself in would never ever go back there. I then found Marks Service Station. I was first going there just for gas and they arw always so friendly. I saw that they were working on cars and I just asked one day if they would look at mine and it has been nothing but PURE AND GENUINE customer service. I NEVER EVER feel like I am being ripped off!!! NEVER!!! I know my car is old and needs work but they do what is necessary to get my car running right and safe. I now live in Chicago and till this day I only will take my car to Marks. I thank Marks Service Station for everything that they do. They have excellent people working in there. As long as they are open my car(s) will always be at Marks.
