Dr. Boulos and his team are AMAZING and a GOD send. I needed to have a root canal and I was extremely nervous due to such a tramatic past with dentists. Dr. Boulos and his team made me feel at ease. They reasured me throughout the entire procedure and told me what was being done every step of the way. I had no pain during the procedure and still no pain. Honestly the worst dentist Ive ever been to. I went in for a crown. Dr. Boulos made the crown too high. It was so high I was unable to bite down. I went back to have it adjusted and Dr. Boulos yelled at me in front of everyone telling me I was in for no reason. He went to adjust my crown and when he realized he could not adjust it any further due to how thin it was getting, he without asking or discussing removed a chuck out of the tooth above. How unethical is that? I ended up having to go to another dentist for a new crown so I could actually bite down as I was not going to subject my teeth to such anger or further damage. He did offer me whitening trays for free. That tells me he had some idea how in the wrong he was. And the tooth he so carelessly took a chunk out of then needed a root canal and crown as a result that I had another truth-worthy team complete. He should not be in practice.Thank you for the response. The office manager called me immediately after this occurred. Its concerning this incident doesnt stand out. Maybe its a common occurrence. I have no further interest working with Boulos as he began a snowball of dental issues for me.

Ive been a patient for 4-5 yrs. Dr. Sammy, the hygienists and staff are friendly and experienced. I had a complex issue with a back molar. The options were a root canal and new crown or extraction. The Doctor did everything possible to save my tooth including offering to cover the cost of fixing the tooth if it became necessary to extract. Im happy to say that was 2yrs ago and the tooth is fine.I definitely recommend Dr. Sammy Boulos.

I had an implant recently, it was a very smooth sailing, took six months from start to end, which is considered standard. Initially I was under the impression it would be a painful procedure, would have swelling, and chances of infection and who knows what. On the contrary, every thing was pretty good, didnt have any swelling or infection, so didnt have to use any pain killer. Honestly those were my concerns. So the credit goes to the doctor for his skills and hygiene they maintain in the clinic.

The office is very easy to work with on scheduling, billing, follow up. Great job by Lisa on that. Hygienists are good, I have seen a couple of them now. Dr. Boulos comes in, looks me in eye, shakes my hand, asks how its going. Like that style. I feel they explain everything to the satisfaction I need. After some dental work Dr. Boulos called to ask how it went, and that was the first time Ive had a dentist do that. It was appreciated.

I just want to take the time to give a awesome review for DR. Sammy Boulos! So here is my story: I was a patient at Boulos. Then I decide to go to another dental office where my friends told me great story about them. So after the first appointment, I needed a root canal. Then, I had a root canal done at another specialist office. The specialist doctor told me that I need the crown within 4 weeks. But the dentist cannot have it done within 4 weeks. They are so busy. So I called Boulos to see if they can take me back, and Dr. Sammy Boulos said he will do a crown for me within two weeks! He is so nice and caring! I am not leaving to another dentist! He is best among all!

My husband and I both had our first appointments at Boulos Dental Care yesterday. We were equally impressed with the service we received: very personable and professional. I have had an issue with staining and the hygienist Eiko took great care in cleaning it all off my teeth! She is a precise and careful hygienist as well as very friendly. We were very happy. My husband and myself received excellent care from Dr. Boulos. We have never had a Dr. personally call us to check how we were doing after dental or medical care. That is exactly what Dr. Boulos does. He is VERY caring. We experienced gentle care with no problems after dental care was done. I was amazed at how fast and efficiently my crown was made--in the office--in one appointment time. I did not require any follow-up appointments and have had no problems with the crown. In the past, other crowns required return visits to adjust. I was so pleased that I did not have to return, as the crown fits perfectly. Everyone in the Dental Clinic is helpful and efficient and caring. We feel blessed to have found the Boulos Clinic for our dental needs.

Had a hard tooth to fill. Mentioned it might be sore for a while. Might need a root canal eventually. It was sore for about a month or two on and off. Then it was fine. It is almost a year now. I am older and have lived in many areas and had many dentists. This guy is highly skilled and a straight talker. He does not recommend unneeded work. in the past I have had some crazy dentists and/or crooks. Had a new problem visit was not a problem. This Dentist is a keeper.

Being the significant other of a military man, Ive been to my fair share of different dentists. Im also sort of a difficult patient, a very nervous patient. Dr. Boulos and his staff are AMAZING. He takes his time and is truly interested in what you need as a patient, not just the dollar signs that come along with you. They have state of the art, top notch equipment, right down to how they take pictures of your teeth. This little wand camera they just point and click. Also, the hygienist, Melissa, is so gentle and understanding of whats happening in your particular situation. I use to DREAD cleanings because I have always had problem gums. The equipment they use has more power with ultra sonic waves but much less invasive than the regular way of cleaning. I experienced almost no discomfort at all. My teeth are VERY sensitive. I was so pleased. I actually look forward to my next appointment. I CANT BELIEVE Im saying that, but its true. And trust me, I am a big baby who is extremely particular and picky. I am SO SO glad I found Dr. Boulos and his office.

I was very pleased with the care I received at Boulos Dental Care. I Came to this dentist because they were one of the few to take my insurance. I had a tooth extracted and a bone graft done. The procedure was pretty painless and had virtually no pain the next day. I have already scheduled my next few visits with this dentist and have nothing bad to say. At 27 years old, I was told I have my first ever cavities at my visit last night. Thats what you get when you put off finding a dentist for three years after moving, I guess, lol. I was very concerned about the process because I have anxiety about dentistry work, but both Dr. Boulos and my hygienist calmed my fears and answered every question I had and Im feeling much better about the upcoming procedure now.

I do not have the best past when it comes to dental experience (at other locations), so when i finally found Boulos Dental Care i was a bit hesitant and scared. Samy made me feel so comfortable the whole time. Last time I was there I was informed that I would need to have a root canal and just those words alone made me so nervous. I was scared walking into my appointment and he could tell I was anxious. He calmed me down and did an amazing job making me feel comfortable in the chair. Even after my appointment he called me later in the evening just to check up on me and see how I was feeling. FANTASTIC dental experience, and I will never go anywhere else now.

During my first visit.I was told that i need 9 fillings. I have never been told about that many cavities ever before or after. Another friend of mine went there and he was also suggested something similar.I told doctor that, i would like to wait for sometime. As the natural teeth will need to be peeled off, before filling the cavity and many of the cavities were too small to take that call. But the doctor insisted that the peeling will be microscopic.I decided to go for just 2, one of them was quite big, The doctor told that it was filled quite well. But it was extremely sensitive. The doctor suggested to wait for some time and then he did something called desensitization, but it did not help. That time he said, he had to make a large groove for filling(which i felt was contradicting with what he said earlier (microscopic peeling) ). He suggested to wait for some more time and if the sensitivity does not go away then go for RCT. I waited as long as i could. But it never cured. I have a feeling a feeling that filling could have been done better, but wont be able to figure that out. I never went back to them!

Dr Sammy is the kindest most compassionate dentist Ive ever known. I will never go to another dentist nor will I allow my family to go to anyone else for as long as I live in Minnesota. Dr Boulos is the best. Granted I hate going to the dentist and I still go in dragging my feet, often kicking and screaming but I always immediately feel comforted when I meet his friendly receptionist and then when I see Dr Sammy myself I know that everything will be alright. And what do you know? I always worry for nothing because Dr. Sammy is a perfectionist with an eye for the sensitive matters of dentistry. I only talk about dragging my feet into the dentist to relate to those like me who share a common fear of the dentist but then to also convince them of my complete and total trust in Dr. Boulos. I am actually not afraid of going to the dentist anymore even though more often than not I need something potantialy super painful done like a root canal or an extraction. But what can I say Dr Sammy works magic the pain is minimal if there is any at all.

He is reasonable with his prices. however his assistants lack common knowledge for things his work has left me with more problems and pain then I started with.

Wasnt very impressed with the customer service. Also no one answered when I called a few times. Its a shame because I saw all the other good reviews on here. Im just going back to my other place even though this one was closer to my home.What a shame.

My son had a very challenging case that started when he was 3. As a dental assistant, I would take my kids to the dentist starting at age 2. We found out at that time that he was genetically missing permanent teeth. And unfortunately, they were not symetrically missing either. He would not have upper laterals nor lower centrals. His toddler mouth was a mess..he had a large diastema between his front teeth...and eventually as he got older, as in elementary school, he had a baby tooth right in the very middle of his lower jaw. He never smiled much to show his teeth. Every year we went to the orthodontist to see how his other teeth would come in and to see how his jaw was forming. In 8th grade my son finally got braces...very pricey since he wasnt the usual candidate. He had his bottom baby tooth pulled (yes 8th grade) because we needed him to hold on to that baby tooth because of his jaw. Braces were made with additions of fake teeth added to them to make up for the missing teeth he had. His upper centrals would be moved together as they were almost in the spaces where his laterals were missing. AND his laterals on the bottom were moved to become his centrals. Thus, missing teeth were symetrical now. (However, even though it looks like he is missing his bottom laterals, it is not true...they are his centrals now.) I cannot imagine how painful braces must have been for him because it wasnt your usual moving teeth and having a better bite. His teeth had to MOVE! Eventually his braces came off and he is to wear retainers now with fake teeth made into them to look like he has a mouth full of teeth. NOW he is in a second journey of doing something about the still missing teeth. IF he were to wear those retainers for the rest of his life...it would ruin his teeth and he would need braces again! His jaw is not fully matured for implants on the diagnosis of his orthodontist. This is where Dr. Boulos did incredible work. I have respect for great cosmetic dentistry..YET I have even greater respect for great cosmetic dentistry when the ODDS are against a patient and their teeth are challenging and you can ONLY work with what little you have at the time!!! Dr. Boulos pulled what I would call a MIRACLE and worked closely with the lab tech consulting with what to do in my sons case..since your average options that other patients have....was still not an option for my son. (trust me, I cried about my sons teeth ever since he was 3). My son and I also went to the lab under Dr. Boulos instructions. BEST time ever! Glad we went! Most interesting appointment! With that said, it was time for my son to get his teeth (for his missing teeth) at Dr. Boulos office. I could go on how amazing the lab made these teeth..however, you would have to be in the dental field to understand what I would say. All I can say is WOW! The procedure worked on a very challenging case like my sons. AMAZING! And just think..this is the second journey which I like to call temporarily permanent...UNTIL it is time for my son to come in again for his third journey for the most permanent treatment! In otherwords... Since this work that Dr. Boulos did for my son right now was and is and looks AMAZING...I can just imagine what my sons teeth will look like when we do the GRAND FINALE!

On Fridays Dr. Boulos practices at Gentle Dentistry in Plymouth MN. I am a cancer patient and told receptionist this at the time of making my appointment for a sore gum. My appointment was at 3:30, on October 13. 2014 I was told worst case prognosis 3 months. After waiting an hour in the dental chair, I asked staff about delay. When Dr. Boulos finally came in he said I had 2 cavities & offered to fill them. When I hesitated about the time spent waiting, Dr Boulos then said he would need a letter from my physician/oncologist to fill the cavities. ( Never had a problem seeing a dentist for cavities during my battle with cancer). He then went on to say Go to U of MN and have it done in a very rude manner. Under my current insurance I am only allowed 1 dental visit that I pay into. I told him I was leaving for 2 trips and needed work done. The staff at the Plymouth location, showed no empathy or compassion for my current health and were extremely rude. It was nearing 5 pm when the clinic closed. Not only was I discriminated against. I am 100% certain, Dr. Boulos wanted to get home rather then treat me. He has a practice in Shoreview. I called my insurance to file a grievance, I advised them they better not bill my insurance. One staff member said they would not, I was extremely upset that I was not treated due to the office being understaffed with Dentists. When I called back after filing my grievance, the receptionist screamed at me on the phone to go to my old dentist. With whom does not participate in my current plan. They even feigned calling police. Dr Boulos was in a hurry, it was late Friday afternoon and he simply was not professional as were is staff.

Ok people, I normally won’t do reviews, for my own personal reasons. However, I feel that it is important to spread the word, when in fact it’s truly deserved. I have been going to Boulos Dental care for about 2 years now. I take good care of my teeth, but unfortunately “not so great teeth”,run in my family. So, I’ve had to endure many, & I do mean many, procedures. From root canals, to crowns & now implants. My wish is that I’d found Dr. Samy Boulos sooner. The man is wonderful at what he does. I truly, don’t think I could be in better hands. He welcomes you with kindness & has a very gentle approach. When an issue arises, he thoroughly, explains what should be done, & how he’d like to proceed. He doesn’t try to “sell” you unnecessary, procedures. Like I said, I’ve experienced a lot, when it comes to dental work. Before I found Dr. Boulos & his team, I had some unfortunate, traumatic, dental experiences. So I’m quite guarded, & probably always will be. But honestly, who really wants to spend a lot of time at the dentist?! No offense Dr Boulos :) I have to say, I was quite shocked after getting home from one of my first procedures. Not only did everyone, treat me with such kindness, but Dr. Boulos, himself, calls to check up on how I’m doing!I’m very impressed on how precise and passionate Dr. Boulos is about the work he does. He takes X-rays every time, to make sure that a crown is sitting exactly where it should be. And if it wasn’t, then he corrects his own work! He also knows how important it is for me to have a pretty smile. So when I made a comment on how I’ve always wished a certain tooth of mine, was shaped differently & more full, I couldn’t believe it when he told me that he can make it better, & he did just that. Later that day, he handed me a mirror & asked if I liked it? I literally teared up! It was so awesome. Not only does he fix teeth, but he’s got a major gift for esthetics too! Those are just some, of the many reasons I have, to want to speak up about this place. Ive met with & received great care, from the whole team. Lisa, the office manager, is so polite & great with all of the work, that she does in the office. Carly, at the front desk, is also an absolute sweetheart and so considerate & hard working. Sonia, the dental assistant, has such a gentle manner & works so well with Dr. Boulos. She’s also very polite & considerate. Adriana, the hygienist, is so polite & thorough. She explains what she’s going to do & makes sure I’m doing well. And she’s so kind hearted.I honestly feel so welcome here. If you are looking for a great dentist I highly recommend Boulos Dental Care. Dr. Boulos is knowledgeable, precise but most important caring. I had the most humiliating experience ever at this clinic the doctor came in was stand off ish then he just started humiliating me without knowing nothing about my medical history he told me first of all you need to stop smoking and stop eating sweets to get your diabetes under control before he could do put impants in. I almost cried right there because first of all I never smoked a day in my life and I can barely eat anything because I have chrons a bowel disease and the only reason my a1c is elevated because all the medications my doctor tried I became very ill including taking insulin it made me blow up and I almost died so I have been not hardly eating anything because I can’t take any meds for my diabetes. I the other Denist I saw never mentioned that and this dentist said I would need 6 implants when two other denist said I only needed two. I only went to this dentist because I just joined aarp dental and they pay most of the cost for implants. But I will be going back to the dentist at Minnesota university after this hurtful experience. Then on top of all that he was like I can refer you to the community dentist and to me that was like saying you don’t belong here go to the poor people dentist where you belong and the crazy part I have two dental insurances and I never got a chance to tell him I had aarp dental ins and his office was in their network where aarp would cover 100 percent cost. i really cried when I got home because he prejudged me

Hmm, Im torn about my visit. I was scheduled fairly quickly by the normal receptionist, Nicki(?) He may have said her name was.I told her at the time I scheduled my appointment: I am nine months pregnant with an infected tooth looking to get it extracted. I understand some dentist dont like dealing with pregnant women. I have insurance and copies of my X-Rays please speak with the doctor before I take off work and let me know if I can still come. I was told he doesnt do extractions on wisdom teeth. I said I cant tell the difference between a wisdom and a molar, check out the xray and tell me if its doable.I took unpaid time off work.After not hearing from the receptionistreceptionist on whether I should come or not and calling all day I showed anyway. I figured hed need to put eyes on the problem anyway to give me a refferal. I arrived on time, and filled out the usual paperwork. After about 25m I was asked if I had insuranceinsurance or the card. I said yes I do, but still havent received my card. This was asked in front of the other patrons. After answering, Dr. Sammie then pulled me around the corner for some privacy and asked did I have insurance? I said yes, againagain and that I was in the network. I just hadnt received my card. He looked squarely at me and said, okay because I can check this... To which I just said thank you and please do (so I could get going). After he checked and yelled over that I was covered, to which I just smiled and said Yes I Know😊, I was shown back where my appointment lasted literally 7min. The tech asked me when I was due and I said soon. She asked again, No whens your due date. Im still wondering why it matters since they dont pull wisdom teeth?Well, despite the somewhat awkwardness of my appointment and lack of communication from the clinic Dr. B is pleasant, if not a tad rushed. The tech meant no harm, but asking personal questions about someones body that get you no result in the end isnt pleasant conversation (I think it was the prying tonetone and square eye contact. No in a conversational way).Again, I dont know what to make of it all. The recommendation was to see Dr. Midtling who has HORRIBLE reviews whilewhile this place has excellent ones. Again, torn.UPDATED JULY 4TH, 2018:I received a personal call from Dr. Boulos today...on a holiday. Clearly he cares what his patrons think of his service. He did apologize for whatever I may have perceived as time wasted and rudeness on their part. Im changing my 3-Star rating to a solid 4 because I clearly misunderstood basic procedure (standard actually, he says). So my sincere apologies.LaChay Moses.

They are harsh on people with state insurance.. if you screw up and miss 1 appointment for any reason they will no longer accept you as a patient.

By far the best experience Ive ever had with a dentist. The employees are pleasant and professional, the office is well appointed, the equipment is cutting edge but most importantly the dentist is the friendliest Ive come across in 50 plus years and too many dentists to count. He introduces himself by his first name, come on, how unpretentious? But thats not the best part, when was the last time your dentist called you after your visit to make sure you were doing well. Yes thats right Samy, thats his name, called me himself at 7:00pm to personally follow-up with me. My last dentist kicked me out of his practice after 15 years due to a change in insurance. At first I was upset but now Im loving it because without his ridiculous business practice I would never have met Samy Boulos.

Staff is very friendly. Had a few cavities filled. 1 of them still hurt after getting it filled. 1 other one which didnt hurt before I got it filled hurt afterward if I tried to chew with it. I went back 3 additional times to try to get those 2 issues resolved but they never were. The next step was to try a root canal which I cant afford at this point and I would rather not try a root canal without knowing that is what needs to be done.

We moved to Shoreview about 2 1/2 years ago.I was unfamiliar with the dentists in this area at that time so it was with bit of uncertainty that I chose to try Dr. Boulos.After 3 crowns and various other procedures I can state that I am more than satisfied with the results of Dr. Bouloss dental care.I am fascinated by his state of the art, computerized crown processing systems and find them to be very effective time savers.The preparation and installation of the new crown can be completed in one visit.Im 70 years old and have seen many dentists over the years. Dr Boulos is by far the best.Mike Adsit

DR. Sammy is awesome,he tells you straight up what needs to done and lets you know what he is doing wile he is doing it. no wondering and no worrys.

I was very pleased with the service. The doctor was great and professional and the staff was very welcoming.

Great experience. I was always afraid of the dentist. Now my phobia is gone, thanks to Dr Sammie. Highly recommend him.

Zoom treatment was quick and painless. Nice, professional guy.

We had a bad experience with Dr.Boulos approach regarding my wifes treatment.They did damage my wifes upper gum and rather looking at the cause of the problem and try to find out.With out doing any visual work look at the gum he started assuming may be related to diabetes.We will never use him again and will be filling a report with health partenr.
