Originally quoted between $400-$500 depending on what was found wrong with my dad’s car. They fixed a leak and added Freon and final bill was only $298 and that also included a fixed broken door handle. Super impressed with the service and turnaround time to make the fixes.

I’m honestly so confused about the high rating. I took my car to get repaired here through an insurance claim. I wasn’t communicated with at all throughout the process and had to call in for updates. They had my car for about 3 weeks and when it was ready to be picked up, I noticed there was a chunk of paint still missing. I’m NOT a picky person. I actually plan on selling my car and don’t even care about it at this point lol but the chunk was SO noticeable I couldn’t believe they tried to give me my car back. I asked if they could fix it which they agreed to keep it a few more days and fixed it. Upon finally getting my car back for real this time, as I was driving the black molding that runs along the top of my car flew off and was flowing in the wind behind me LOL I also noticed paint splatters on the black exterior portion of my car door (see photos). When I NICELY contacted Tom about this, I was given attitude and told that it wasn’t caused by them. What do you mean? LOL I literally just got my car back what else would have caused it? He then offered to still fix it for free as a “courtesy” uhhh it’s okay I’ll save you guys the hassle lol. Weird & bad experience, dude.**edit: raised my rating due to the response of the owner. Still not going to take my car back at this point, but I appreciate the response!

This shop is wonderful. I worked with Patrick and he was fantastic! He kept me informed of what was going on with the car and an approximate date that the repairs would be completed. He said it would be completed a Thursday and I could pick it up on Friday, and that is exactly what happened. They replaced the rear bumper cover and it looks fantastic! There is no way anyone could tell that this cover has been replaced. The paint work is perfect- and I do mean perfect! Hopefully I wont need any body work done anytime soon, but if I do, my car WILL be back at Schoonover!!!Thank-you - a very satisfied Garage Logician!

This was the easiest and most transparent experience I have ever had with a body shop. On top of an excellent customer experience, the quality of work was a 10 out of 10. The online tracking of the work was a feature that I have never had at any other shop and proved to give me up to date progress on the project. It made for a great experience from quoting all the way through completed work.If you want professionalism and transparency, there is no reason to look anywhere else. This is the shop to use!

I purchased a gift certificate for The Works auto detailing. The only problem I have is they are over booked and the certificate can’t be used for 3 weeks.

Ive never had customer service that well executed.  Dealing with insurance companies is almost as much fun as getting a root canal done with a pocket knife, but Nikki made it easy, seamless and most of all painless.  She facilitated a teleconference with me and the insurance company, and worked to make sure that all the is were dotted and squared away.  She made it look easy, which is the mark of a pro.

As always I was NOT disappointed!! My car seems to a magnet for people to hit sadly. I call Mike and he gets me in right away and gets her fixed. I always get it back looking better than when it went in. I want to that Pat for the awesome communication and Jim for making my car look beautiful and shiny when she was done. Also, the technicians that fixed my car are bars none the best and Mikes painters are the best you will ever come across. CONNOT tell where the new paint starts and the old paint begins, best match. Mike and his crew were great to deal with after a crash caused moderate damage to my car. Repairs were finished ahead of schedule and in time to get my car back for a long Christmas weekend. Well worth the drive to use Schoonover from the Southwest Metro. Hope I won’t be back for bodywork anytime soon but if the need arises I’ll be back.

I had “the works” detail service performed on my 2018 Subaru Forester. “Jim” did a wonderful job! The vehicle looks like it just came off the showroom floor: the exterior sparkles and the black leather interior looks brand new. All pet fur from my Springer Spaniel is gone from every nook and cranny (and I know just how hard that is to remove)! Now the vehicle is set for the Minnesota winter.I’ve taken several vehicles to Schoonover’s for detailing over the years. Their service cannot be beat! I highly recommend this shop. I brought my custom vehicle in for minor paint repair. The paint is a difficult to match color. The quality of the repair was of the utmost importance to me. The repair was done perfectly, in a reasonable time, and for the estimated cost. I am totally pleased and will return for any further body/ paint work I need.

My car ran well when I picked it up but died when I got it home. I gave them a call to double check that they did what I needed them to do and they once again let me speak directly to the mechanic. He was very friendly and explained what he did, which was exactly what I asked him to do. Now I have an unrelated problem that will need another fix, but they were very professional, prompt, friendly, and didnt do any extra work or overcharge me. I would definitely recommend them and will be taking my car back to them as soon as I can get it started.Second experience: I took our van in to get just a general checkup before a long road trip. They got me scheduled 2 days after I called. I dropped the van off at 8am and they called me around 11am to tell me what they found and the estimates. They were thorough and made good, but not excessive recommendations. They were also extremely friendly even after I told them I didnt want either of the two things they recommended. On top of the incredible service, they did it for a great price as well!I think they only have one mechanic but Bill Nolan is who has done the work for my vehicles.

After my rear view mirror met my garage door (whoops), I called a couple of auto body shops for quotes for the repair. Schoonover’s was the last I called and I am so happy that I found them! Not only did their creative problem solving (buying a recycled part instead of new, which I fully endorse) save me $200 over other auto body shops, but they were wonderful to work with! Kind, friendly, professional, transparent, and organized! It was obvious that they took quality and customer service seriously. They did several maintenance items as well for me and the work was done in no time. The mirror looks perfect and they were kind enough to wash and detail my car - my car looks practically new! We will absolutely be returning customers!

We have had body work done on our cars a few times by Schoonover. Our experience has generally been good: the work has usually been completed to our satisfaction and we have not had to go back to them about the issue afterwards. Make sure to discuss prices explicitly if you are going to have any work done outside what is covered by insurance, though. Otherwise you may end up feeling short-changed by the fact that you have been billed at a higher rate for the same kind of work in comparison with what the insurance agency has been billed.

Even though I live within walking distance of a major body shop, I drive several miles to Schoonover because I have been so pleased with them.So - less expensive, easy to work with, timely work and updates on progress, and, most importantly, the work looks great when it is done.
