Called earlier in the week and asked all the right questions to setexpectations on service and timing. Everything sounded good but when I went to drop off my receiver for repair on Saturday no one showed up to open the shop. I waited a half hour along with another customer who was waiting to pick up their turntable. No one showed. I called multiple times but no answer. The sign clearly said open Saturday 10 - 2 and I was there at 10. The website and person I spoke with earlier in the week also confirmed they are open on Saturdays. The other customer waiting finally got fed up and left. For as nice as the person I spoke with on the phone earlier in the week was, it is clear that they were just the help and not the primary repair person. The latter seems to only show up when they feel like it.
Had these guys repair a older Marantz receiver. Never again . Used hot glue to hold in the new lights because they broke the original holders. Yea they were 40 years old. But a professional should have done a better job of attaching the lights.
Always been my place to go for getting my TVs and other electronics fixed have great prices and good staff
TL;DR: I was charged $40 for a very high repair estimate which took a month to get and likely didnt involve looking at the two units that I dropped off.I dropped off a monitor and an AV receiver for repair. They asked for $20 for the repair estimate for each unit and told me to call back in a couple days. When I called back they said they didnt have time to look at it and that they will call me back soon. After another week I called again with the same response. I called again after another week or two and I got the same response. After about a month I called back, worried that they are not able to reach me. They put me on a couple minutes wait (didnt do so on the previous calls) and came back with very high estimates (more than it would cost to buy the same units online: $285 for the monitor and $325 for the AV receiver). They didnt give me any explanation for whats wrong with the units, just the cost.My guess is that they still hadnt done the estimate but came up with the estimate during the wait by going online and seeing how much it cost to replace the unit completely and add a bit extra for their trouble, without even looking at the units. So, I lost trust in them and got back my units.Reducing electronic waste is important to me, so I would be willing to pay a high cost if I have the confidence that the repair doesnt consist in buying an identical working unit and replacing parts until it works and then throwing away the rest.Honest and clear communication is the minimum requirement. I was not in a rush. I would have understood if they needed more time to get to my units, even if it was a matter of months. Second, they should have been honest about not having done the estimate and returned the $40 they charged, alongside an apology for wasting my time to go drop off and pick up my units.I did not confront them about any of this. Its against my character. Anyway, I believe that a business should offer the same level of service to everyone, not just to those who complain.
I have never been to a repair place with better service than this. I went in with a busted monitor (thanks to FedEx) and asked for a repair estimate to properly file a claim at the amount I paid for. The manager came out within 1 minute of me stepping in and immediately identified the situation. He provided me with an estimate that it was beyond repair to which I got my money back from FedEx, all thanks to the fast service I got. The manager had obviously had years of experience with computers, monitors, and all sorts of technology. For now, I can tell that I will definitely come back here in the future regarding all my repairs. Also, if youre a student, dont go to any other place but here. They are so kind to students and patient with them. Plus, they can do offers to students regarding any kind of repair.
Very responsive and accommodating.
Finally! A place that will repair older electronics and does a good job. I used to take my electronics to King Audio Video Repair in Renton, and when they closed, I cried, cause there was NOWHERE, to take your older stereo gear for repair. I brought in a old boombox that I was sentimentally attached, worthless monetarily but had it since I was a teenager, I like to play the radio on it in the shop, or pop in a casette from my teens, sometime, just for fun, but everything had broke, power supply failure, all the belts on the casette deck were broke, cassette motor busted, A.M. Stereo repaired it, like new. Fixed power supply circuit, put in new motor and belts, all for a reasonable price. Very friendly guys, only a $20 deposit, and they give you a hard estimate for repair. Cant beat that. What a relief to finally have a reliable electronics repair place in town! Now if I can just find a trustworthy auto mechanic, thats still in business.....
I had a hot tub control board where the incoming 240v wire managed to get loose from the block and started generating heat damaging the terminal block and de-soldering it from the board. I brought the board with a new terminal block in and they were able to remove the old clamps and solder on the new block. They found some other corrosion on fuse connections that they fixed and they re-waterproofed the board. I would recommend this shop for anyone needing circuit board repair.
They fix my TV really fast and it could have cost me a whole lot of trouble so Im very grateful. 10 star service
Mike and Brian did a great job - they fixed my TV that I feared was irreparable. Would hire again!
Our 2016 Samsung 4K LED TV suddenly became unusable due to an internal failure. After doing some quick searching online, I discovered that it might be repairable. Thankfully AM Stereo & Video was able to repair the TV for a reasonable price and save the TV from the landfill. Plus, I saved a ton of money by not having to purchase a new TV that I didn’t need!
The best AV repair place I’ve been to. I coach high school football and am responsible for our endzone camera system working each week. These guys have probably repaired every piece of the system and have done a fantastic job each time. They’re easy to work with, have fair prices, and were flexible with my time constraints. Could not recommend them enough, I will be their customer for life!
Worst customer experience ever. No clear communication on the estimation, fees upfront. Engineers are not capable enough to do the repair. They try to charge 5 times more of the initial fees after reaching their place by saying something different from the earlier communication. I will try to avoid them at any cost and find some capable repair shop who understands their customers and provide dedicated service and charge the right amount for the service. There is no option to select 0 star.
Kept my tv for over 6 weeks after promising 2, 3 days then 2 weeks only to say after 6 weeks they cant fix it...
Unbelievably expensive. No proper communication on whether they will be able to fix the problem or the proper cost. Trying to up the repair cost by multiple folds once we reach them. Proactive communication on hidden charges are missing. They are not confident enough that their work will solve the issue and would not cause any additional issues. Total waste of time, effort and money.
Good People Really Honest!
Total Ripoff. While calling, they say everything is possible and less than 100 usd as fee. Once we reach their place, without even opening the case, they charge additional estimation cost and total charge as around 500 usd and they want it in cash. Also, they do not show the level of expertise. Not willing to accept the liability if they damage something. We have to be very careful while dealing with such experiences. Not planning to visit them or recommending my friends anymore.
This is a family run business that is very professional and courteous and provide a free estimate of your issue. This is the 1st and only place I will take my electronic devices to be repaired.
Reached this shop for some modification for my bluray player. Had shared all the relevant installation step by step guide with them and they confirmed me that the work is possible and can be done in an hour or so. But after reaching the place, they increased the cost from 80 usd to 450 usd and they are not confident enough that the unit will work after installation and they do not want to take liability. Also charged 20 usd additional estimation cost even after sharing the installation guide clearly. This was not even communicated. I would avoid this shop going forward. Bad customer experience.
Outstanding service, real friendly. Told me my set would be ready Saturday - it was ready on Thursday; two days early! Dont throw out your set - save the environment and see these folks first.
Took my Samsung television there 11-2015 they had to order a new board for it. So glad I did not have to replace the TV, worth the cost. My TV was near my fireplace and I think the smoke did in the board. They did an excellent job it is still running a year later no problem. I of course dont use the fireplace anymore. I am about to take my Bose Quiet comfort 25 headphones there, the right ear piece does not work, I hope they can fix it.
A very competent and fair electronics repair place. Deep knowledge and they can fix or rebuild most anything!
They were very helpful with helping me find Solutions with a broken electronic item. I was very impressed by the shop. I think a person would have a good experience here. I look forward to doing more repairs in the future. Thank you
Fixed my tvs HDMI ports. Took a while (of course mine had to be more difficult), but happy to not add another tv to the landfill! So happy people are still around that know how to fix things.
Affordable TV repair and awesome service!
Took a PCB from a vending machine in to get repaired. It was going to cost nearly $600 to replace. They repaired it in a few days for less than $60 WITHOUT SCHEMATICS (which makes repair jobs much harder). Would highly recommend!
Took an old, old stereo in, these guys had it running like a Ferrari in no time.Highly recommended.
They did an excellent job at at excellent price. My big screen tv wasnt working. They did a free consultation and called me with how much it would be. A few days later it was fixed. They did a great job. Even helped me carry my tv in and out of my car.
They charged me $225 to replace a board on my LG Smart TV. Only worked for a month and is useless now. What a waste of money and time!
Family-run business, down to earth, knowledgeable, and fast! Theyve helped me out on multiple repair projects, and theres nowhere else I could imagine going for this kind of work.
Solid work.
Brought in my Samsung TV for a power issue, and they identified & fixed the problem in minutes for a very reasonable amount. Thanks!
Very friendly quick service
To put it bluntly, they ripped me off, said they repaired my TV took it home the same problem existed took it back waited 4 days went home plugged it in and same problem again charged me 75 dollars I dont think they even opened the back ...total rip off took a mall and crushed it then dropped it off to them thinking about sueing them ...
