I had a really good experience here. At first, I wanted to AMA, but my therapist was very kind and patient and once I got accumulated with being there, I was able to gain a lot of knowledge in how to get a better handle on my mental health. I loved not only my therapist, but the others that’s there as well. They have a wonderful variety of groups that are thought-provoking and transfer to real life situations. You don’t need to attend all the groups, but going to the ones that pertain to you goes a long way for your recovery process. The techs are very friendly and interactive, and are very attentive in helping out when they need to. The nurses are good in managing the medications of all the patients and in having us also be aware of the medicines we are about to take and to let them know if something’s off. They’re very time oriented, so they know who hasn’t taken their meds at the time they’re supposed to and will have people watch out for them to tell them to go to the nurse’s station for meds. Also, the cooks are absolutely amazing. The food there is very good and they make sure to give a very large variety of food. I was there for a month and I think I only had the same thing of something twice. Some of the food may seem strange, but I’m very glad to be able to be immersed into trying new foods. Overall, my stay helped me to prepare for going back out into the real world, providing me with tips and skills to manage my symptoms better than what I had been trying to do before I was there.
As a substance use disorder provider in the Sevierville area, I have frequent contact with Pasadena. When referring a client there, I always see client care come before anything else. Jennie Vandivort, in particular, is a wonderful person to work with and takes care of each person I call her about.
I had a very positive experience while at Pasadena Villa’s Smoky Mountain Lodge residential treatment program. I was there for 5 weeks in Nov-Dec 2019. When I made the decision, with the help of my family, to go to Smoky Mountain Lodge it was one of the best decisions I’ve made. I had quit functioning basically. Didn’t leave my bed and didn’t care if I stayed on this planet, honestly. The skills and tools that I was given to fight these issues while there has helped me so much. It helped more than any medication. The groups were very beneficial to me and very informative. An added bonus was animal-assisted therapy and everyone loved that!I’ll be honest, I’m not sure where I would be if I hadn’t gotten help from Pasadena Villa- Smoky Mountain Lodge. It was a turning point for me that was very much needed. No regrets at all about my decision to go there for the help I so badly needed. The staff was kind and friendly and that was so important to me because I was homesick for a couple of weeks and a kind word or smile from the staff definitely helped. I had no complaints there. I will say this, sometimes they would get a bit busy trying to help all of us. Always good to have some patience for staff, helps to remember that. They did their best though, no doubt in my mind. The nurses were great as well although like the techs they can get busy. Patience. The food was superb, not something I expected. Every meal was something different and if you didn’t like what was on the menu, you could put in a personal request and the staff was always accommodating.I believe you get out what you put into this program. You have to be willing to put in the work and make efforts. If you go but don’t attend groups or participate and stay in your room all day, I’m not sure how much good it will do you. But if you go and attend groups and work with your therapist, I believe it can be truly beneficial.
**update. Had a wonderful conversation with the CEO and she states these are things they are currently working on. As long as they are interested in moving forward with changes,, this could be a great place to go.**I only spent 4 days here. The techs are generally amazing but there are a few that are not. I never met one on one with my therapist. The groups are geared towards people with co occurring disorders (substance abuse and mental health) and I knew after the first day I wouldnt receive the care I needed as I only have mental health issues and no substance abuse. I also have medical issues that the staff were aware of and I was told Id be accommodated but I passed out in the shower as I never got a shower chair. I also never received a key to my room. It was overcrowded and understaffed and most of the residents were young and still living at home. This kind of place is great for them. Not so much for someone who is married and has social anxiety. We were told by admissions that the groups would be very small. Wrong. It was loud, overcrowded, and most of the people there were more worried about relationships than getting help. I think it has a lot of pros too, its a great place for younger adults that struggle with co occurring disorders. It just was a terrible fit for me.
I had a pretty good experience overall. My therapist was wonderful. The food was wonderful. Most of the groups were helpful. The other patients were amazing. However, the nurses were terrible. I have a chronic illness and the nurses were not helpful. They were very condescending a rude. Also, I have still not gotten a refund check from two situations. I’ve called multiple times over the last three months and haven’t gotten anywhere with it. So frustrating.
I have worked with Pasadena Villa for many years as a referring professional. They have always worked hard for my clients assuring that they are the right fit for the clients needs, and - if not - help find the right place for the client. I have had the pleasure of touring both Smoky Mountain Lodge and The Stables. Its a beautiful, serene, and clinically astute program. I highly recommend their programs and trust their expertise. Additionally, working with their local outreach professional, Corinne, has been a true pleasure. Shes professional, kind, and compassionate. I have followed up with the clients families and they have all good things to say as well. As a professional, it is tough to trust someone else with your client, but I dont worry at all when I hand them off to the staff at Pasadena Villa. For that, I am grateful.
I stayed at the facility for about two and a half months. I had a positive experience. No facility is perfect. The important thing to remember about any facility is that it can be hard at times. But, if you put in the time and dedication to your treatment plan, you will see a difference. The staff was supportive. I felt comfortable going to them whenever I had any issues. Also, the animal assisted therapy was very helpful
The moment I walked into the building I knew it was not for me. The facility is not what is shown on the Internet or in brochures. The counselors and And therapist were all reading out of books during sessions over CBT DBT and other issues. The classes were 30 minutes they combined CBT and DBT together when it should be separate. There was too much freedom not enough structure and they were overmedicating people. People had a chance to go to class or they slept on sofas. All they want is you money, I did the 72 AMA and threatened that my return of $3,000 would take over 30 days. The nurses were wondering and they were just doing their job. The kitchen staff were helpful with my diet restrictions. The admin staff and discharge manager were great. Yoga instructor was very knowledgeable and helped. That was the only not thing nice except the view. They are taking money from people and just medicating to the point of some looked like zombies. This is not a treatment center it is a mental facility. One thing they do is ask you the additional $3000 for you to use to go to a grocery run. Once you are done with that amount they expect more $$$$$$THIS FACILITY NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN THEY ARE NOT HELPING ANYONE THEY ARE HURTING THEM WHILE TAKE YOUR MONEY.The therapist have no clue what they are doing, the are rude like you are a prisoner and not a human who is paying their salary.
Had really bad allergies that kept me in bed the first week. As soon as I asked maintenance they dusted every corner, every fan & light fixture.Staff are really on top of it.Sadly after a month of being away I have relapsed hard. On top of that the only thing to do there to feel different was to smoke. So now I have a cigarette addiction when all I was doing before was vaping. Their policies are not along vapes or understandable however people are going to find themselves in the same situation as me now attached to cigarettes.
During my time as a case manager for another residential facility, I had the lovely experience of working with the admissions team at Pasadena Villa when I was assessing for stepdown placement (to partial hospitalization) or for a lateral transfer (from residential to residential). Their admissions team is fabulous whether you are seeking residential or lower levels of care. In times where a lateral transfer from our program was needed, the admissions team and their client care navigator Marni Naleway, were so supportive, quick to reply, and very straightforward. The team for Pasadena is exceptionally genuine and there have been times where they have honestly decided that a client is not a great fit; in these cases, they have made recommendations for other programs. Therefore, I believe that they truly stick to their expertise and make recommendations if they are not the place. They have been a great partner to other mental health facilities and an amazing contribution to the mental health field. If you are considering admissions with them, I recommend that you give it a chance! They truly value and prioritize client care and helping you find the best fit.
I just finished a 5 week stay here. I am going to try to be as transparent and honest as possible. The facility is in a beautiful area. The views are breathtaking. Especially during the fall. They hold a multitude of groups a day, around 8 that are not mandatory but recommended. The food is delicious, but they have limited breakfast and they always were out of coffee. You only see your therapist once a week for one on one sessions which isn’t enough. When patients brought this fact up, they were told that having more than one a week would be “triggering”. For the money that we spend to stay here, that is preposterous.Suitcases are required to be checked when you arrive, and I can’t tell you how many people had things “lost” that were valuable. The staff didn’t want to take responsibility for ANY of their mistakes. My expensive toothbrush was taken and they didn’t bother trying to look. The nursing staff was rather rude and condescending, treating us more like criminals than actual patients with mental illness or substance abuse problems. They are overwhelmingly understaffed, and when we brought this to their attention they just brushed it off. They claim they hire a certain amount of staff based on how many patients there were, but that was total bs. Some techs really do care while others treated us poorly and with no respect. They check on you every hour of the night by opening your room and slamming it shut, greatly affecting our sleep.Therapists would miss sessions for patients without saying anything, mine missed three of ours. There is a client concern box for patients to write out suggestions or concerns. Many of the concerns were legitimate and reasonable. They say the CEO checks all of them, but NO ONE was ever addressed about it. CEO really only cares about the money in the company’s pocket.I would HIGHLY suggest you look for another location to attend as this place was rather unprofessional. There was a patient there who wasn’t going to have her first therapy session until 3 weeks after her stay. The patients really made it worth while, as there were some wonderful people there who have gone through some serious trauma. They made the stay bearable. If you put in the effort you will learn some valuable skills as I did, my therapist was wonderful, but with the financial implications involved, it was not really worth it.
These people do not return calls even when they have all your belongings and medications. They sounded wonderful when you first start the process! Now, all I want is to find out where my daughter’s medications, cell phone, computer and belongings are at. They are causing her more stress than she was in before. All her information to pay her bills is on her phone and computer. Do not be fooled! They really do not care. If they did, they would return one of our many phone calls. As a parent of a 34 year old daughter with PTSD and bi-polar disorder, you try to find the best treatment center and I thought I had. It had been 2 years since my Daughter had been in a crisis facility. She worked, lived with roommates, and took care of all her bills. In September, she had a manic episode and when into a crisis center. In October, she came to Atlanta to help a family member and became manic again. After a while, I felt like she needed to go to a place where she could focus on herself and not have to worry about day to day stressors that seem to be keeping her from recovering.I explained that at this time, my Daughter was in a crisis facility that had been changing all her medications and she was not very stable. They assured me that it would not be a problem, so I went and picked my Daughter up and took her to TN. She was there 5 days and they sent her to the hospital, and she was sent to another crisis facility. At that time, I was told this happens often and when she was stable, she could return. The day before Thanksgiving the crisis facility was ready for her to be released. I called and left messages for the director since she was the one who would have to determine if she could return to Pasadena Villa. I never received a call. I was able to go pick up my daughter and brought her home form the crisis facility.Thanksgiving night, my daughter called about getting her things. They have all her medications, her cell phone, computer, clothes everything. We were prepared to drive 3 ½ hours to pick her stuff up but we were told they would overnight everything to her. As of 1:30, December 1, 2020, we have not received her stuff.Since that day, I have made numerous calls and left messages for the director and no one has returned my calls. I spoke with one nurse that would not even say she would call me back. I felt like the nurse knew that the director would not return my call. I have called Beth & Brittney, the people that I was in contact with at the beginning and said they would let them know. I asked would you please have them give me a call. Brittney replied, I will let them know. Again, it was like Brittney did not want to say them would give me a call.I still do not know where any of my daughter’s things are and no one will return my calls.
The CEO contacted me today and he was very kind and apologized for the things that had taken place. He checked on things and followed up with me. He has taken care of getting the refund. - My daughter was there for 5 days and they sent her to a crisis facility and would not let her return. That was fine but they had all her medications, cell phone, laptop and clothes. We called and they said that they would overnight her things to us that was 5 days ago. We called many times and left messages with the director and to this day no one returned our call. It was not until I wrote my review today that they finally ship her thing FedEx ground. We have not received them as of yet. I pray we receive everything back. This has been a nightmare. If I ran my business like they did, I would not be in business very long. I am still amazed that they were able to delete my original review. They still owe us money back that we paid upfront. No telling how long it will take to receive that back.
I highly recommend Jennie V and the outstanding team at Padadena Villa. If you need behavioral health treatment for you or a loved one please give them a call. They go above and beyond and are focued on helping people maintain a stable and healthy future.
David with the business office was so helpful!
I was at Pasadena Villa Smoky Mountain Lodge for a little over 3 months in winter/spring of 2020. This place SAVED MY LIFE! I don’t know where I would be today if I hadn’t taken a chance and admitted myself into Pasadena. The staff here are beyond wonderful. From administration, to nursing, to therapists, to the psychiatric technicians, to the maintenance/housekeeping team...everyone truly has a heart for this and loves the residents. There was constant support and love 24/7.The facility was beautiful! It was like staying in a resort. There are huge windows in the main room that looks out to the gorgeous garden area, and the beautiful smoky mountains! I loved sitting on the couches and watching the sunrise in the mornings. It always started my day out on a great note!Obviously at any facility there will be some problems and things that upset you, but truly I can’t speak highly enough about this place. Sure, there were occasional miscommunication problems and things I didn’t love, but overall it’s an amazing place.I will say, the first few days or maybe a week are very difficult for most people. Being in a new place away from your life and family is hard. It does GET BETTER!!!The food is INCREDIBLE! The culinary staff really knows what they are doing and put a lot of effort into making our meals excellent.I made lifelong friendships while being there. The peers you will meet are a huge part of making it through this difficult journey. They do a lot of fun team building groups and interactive activities. The therapy groups are so great, and so informative. I learned so much from attending those groups. They have something for all the issues you could be struggling with.I would recommend this facility to anyone who is struggling and needs to make a change in their life! You will get from it what you put in!If you truly want to make a difference in your life and get better, and you attend groups and really put your all into therapy... you will benefit from the program.
I discharged on the 24th of November. My stay was supposed to be a 30 day stay. That’s what I originally agreed to. However within days I knew this wasn’t the place for me. My first week there my patience was tried many times with a the facility. After 9 days I finally received meds. My insurance wouldn’t cover the medication they put me on and it took 9 days to get on anything at all. I felt like being in a residential place that I would have gotten a little quicker response time but that is not Pasadenas strength in any form. My therapist at home would have had me on something the next day after insurance declining. A therapist that wasn’t even my therapist told me I was med seeking and I shouldn’t be putting so much into not having medication. I am an former user and he threw that in my face. I have been clean for 8yrs and that really went through me. All I wanted was something to stabilize my moods so I could use the tools I was learning. When your emotions are everywhere it’s hard to care or use your tools. I thought that’s what I was there for. To manage my meds and get me in a better spot. There were no where near enough techs. At one point I recall 7 of us waiting to be allowed in our rooms to use the bathroom after dinner. 7 of us! Some of the techs do really go out of their way to help you and know there is a Shortage of staff. I’d say the techs were more supportive than anyone.I strongly feel like I was mislead when I called admissions. I did not have access to my therapist as much as I thought I would. Some people that were there didn’t see their therapist for an actual session 2 weeks! 2 whole weeks! My classes were repetitive so I learned the same few things over. Trauma classes were useless to me and few others. You cannot talk about your trauma only when in therapy. Just how you deal with it. Well I’m not alone when I say I don’t know how to deal with it. That’s why I was there. You don’t see your therapist enough to process traumas unless you stay for months on end. Several left AMA while I was there because they were not getting what they needed. I ultimately left because I could no longer afford to be there. Especially because I was no better.Oh and I don’t want to forget that I was given the wrong meds 2 nights before I left. My friends had a hoot watching me. She was disappointed though since she didn’t get her meds she got mine so she did not sleep that night. I will say I felt amazing like I was high so it wasn’t a bad experience but it could have been.My main problem is that I took loans out to come there thinking this would be the place that helped me change my life.. I left on no medication and a mental mess and financially screwed. If it was worth it I could probably swallow that a loIt better. It was the best decision for me though. I was even more eager to make at home work.So remember me saying I left (they discharged me) because I couldn’t afford it anymore?? Well I’ve been home since Nov 24th and it is December 31st now. I am still not back to work. Bills are piling up I had to apply for state assistance and I’ll probably loose my vehicle to the bank soon. I have to have an actual release to return to work from the person who signed my FMLA papers. I have been trying to get one from Pasadena since Dec. 4th via email to my therapist and the intake person. No one ever answers the phone when I call. In 3 weeks I have had 1 answer and they tried to transfer me to the director. Line disconnected. Immediately called back and no answer. I called 8 times yesterday no answer. So here I am going into 2021 with no money and not even the ability to go back to work. I’m sure their huge bill will be coming any day now. I can only imagine how much that will be.So for me and many others that I was there ( I saw a couple reviews from them on here ask well) with Pasadena was less than par. I cannot say that I didn’t get any help because I did learn some things. Unfortunately I didn’t need to spend thousands and thousands and thousands and a ton of stress to learn the few things I did.
Understaffed 4 therapist shared between 70+ people usually only 2 to 3 techs around at all times, abusive and dismissive adatudes from most staff, many having panic attacks or crying either ignored by staff or reppromaned for not using their coping skills or attention seeking, would not recommend this place the only positive is the food, I came in sick and I am now leaving sick with some extra trauma on top,Now their is a new rule we cant be in are rooms all day and all 70 of us will have to share the same 2 bathrooms, this place should be shut down
This is the most terrible facility I’ve ever been to. They’re inefficient, lack communication, and have a large lack of concern. While there, I was administratively discharged for having a verbal altercation with another resident; the program director, who I had never seen the whole time I was there, didn’t even give me a chance to share my side of things & immediately discharged me. She said I needed a higher level of care which was a homeless shelter in Knoxville. My therapist I met with once didn’t care to mention there was a recommended facility for me in south Florida according to my discharge paperwork. On the clinical director’s business card it says this is a place for “severe and persistent” mental health problems: this is not true. Most of the people there hadn’t even been to a psychiatric hospital. I was told this was a step up from an acute psych unit, but this also is not true. Lousy facility with a lack of care, communication, and compassion.
If you’re looking for a place that works efficiently, answers your questions or concerns, or even just show that they care at all? Look elsewhere. Half the time they don’t have enough staff AND they pick their favorites to treat better than the other residents. The only reason I have to give this place ANY stars is because I finally got the right medication, which you can do pretty much anywhere else. My advice: look elsewhere because the pictures aren’t the reality. However I HAVE seen other people succeed here, but DONT come on a weekend or around ANY holidays. There’s usually not enough people to get everything done in a timely manner.
Pasadena Villa provided a therapeutic setting for our loved one. All staff members were extremely kind, caring, and patient. They welcomed input from family and friends and engaged in a variety of treatment modalities. Clyde was always responsive to our requests and brought a tremendous amount of caring and patience to his work each and every day. The nurses, aides, and support staff should all be commended for their dedication to helping others. The facility is beautiful with incredible views, wonderful gardens, and an enclosed porch which facilitates healing and recovery.
I had an okay experience when it came to treating mental health conditions, but a terrible experience when it came to transgender inclusivity.I was frequently put in uncomfortable situations (such as having a straight, cisgender male for a roommate). The staff referred to me by the wrong pronouns the entire time I was there. I was penalized for hanging in the women’s smoking area on the basis that I was not transgender because I “had not undergone a transition and was not taking hormones.” (I was originally told by staff members to choose when I was originally told by staff members to choose either the men’s or women’s side, and I chose the women’s.)They simply do not have enough therapists or staff to accommodate the amount of patients here and the amount of work that needs to be done, causing there to be a major focus on group as opposed to individualized psychotherapy.
As previous reviews have stated, Pasadena is after your money. I stayed there for only 4 or so days, but I my time there was bad. The nurses and techs are spread thin and rude, and I only met with my therapist once for 15 minutes my entire stay there. I had another meeting planned with my therapist but she cancelled our appointment without telling me. Patients either sit on their phones all day in their rooms or the open area, or they sit on their phones in group. Patients aren’t expected to go to all groups or meals, so they don’t. The level of care Pasadena sells you is a lie to say the least. On top of that, after 4 days living there (over $900 a day), Pasadena informed my family that insurance was not covering my stay even though Pasadena told us I was being covered and we paid them $5000 for my stay. I caught the staff at Pasadena lying to me several times as well. Lots more happened than what I can put in a review, but I urge anyone looking for quality care to count this place out.I’d also like to add that I found a razor blade in the dresser of my room (that I had all to myself) the day I left the facility. I didn’t bring any razor into the facility, the blade was there the entire time meaning the staff doesn’t properly check the rooms when patients leave.
Its a great place. Understaffed but the therapists are truly caring people as are the techs. Currently in the php program and truly amazing! They truly try their best however they do have kinks to work out I believe its helped me a whole lot.
Great place found my soul mate got the only medicine I needed which was love brain shrinked a little from anti psychotics but hey give or take rightBy the way step down doesn’t offer a job program skip bringing your interview clothing.Best of luck to ya.
When a team of health professionals tell you that your adult child needs duel diagnosis treatment at a residential facility, and recommend only a few places, it’s a difficult thing to process. There are so many questions, and how do you know if a program will be the right one for your loved one? After talking to health professionals and the admissions team at Pasadena Villa, we decided on Pasadena for mental health and substance abuse treatment. After a bit of a rough start, which I now understand is normal for patients, our daughter was paired with a therapist who was really able to help her make some good progress. Also, the psychiatrist, nurses, and techs were supportive and helpful. I was able to communicate with the therapist, and other members of the treatment team when I had concerns. The ability to have good communications with the therapist and treatment team was a strong point of the treatment experience at Pasadena Villa. At the end of the day, you have to decide if a program is right for your loved one, but don’t be afraid to ask lots of questions to help you decide.
We had a very mixed experience with Pasadena Villa - Smoky Mountain Lodge, and unfortunately, most of it was bad. Ill start with her arrival: We made arrangements for the facility to pick her up at the Knoxville airport and sent them her itinerary. When she arrived, no one was there. We called the admissions person who told us not to worry - they were on their way. After another half an hour, we spoke with the facilty to find out where they were. They said because of the weather (rain), they were delayed in traffic (based on when they finally picked her up, it was clear that they hadnt even left yet. Someone dropped a big ball here, and fortunately our daughter was having a decent day and managed the three hour wait reasonably well. Our daughter was in the facility for almost four months and the first three were not good. She suffers from Borderline Personality Disorder, Anxiety and depression and is not an easy case. However, the first therapist assigned to her was in way over her head and bordered on incompetent. She told us initially that we would speak weekly and needed to do a full history call. She never followed through with that call and any future calls with her were all about us finding the next place to send our daughter. She regularly didnt show up for her therapy sessions with our daughter (or calls with us), and often would promise to talk to her about a problem at a certain time and then would go home. This dramatically increased our daughters anxiety, given that she needed to count on commitments being kept. All of the owners responses to reviews here said that they wished families had reached out to administration versus leaving a negative review. So...we tried to reach out to administration several times and never received a return call. Her therapist was out sick for a couple of weeks, causing them to assign her a new therapist. Jay M was the best thing that could have happened to her. For at least the last few weeks, she had a competent therapist who really understood her disorder, handled it perfectly, and kept in touch with us. Because her time there was up, we made arrangements with Jays help to get her transferred to a new facility. Because of her anxiety issues, we were promised that someone would drive her to the airport and try to get permission to go to the gate with her, and if they couldnt do that, would at least stay with her until she went through security. While she was a having a full-blown panic attack in the car, the driver told her that she couldnt go in the airport with her because she had been discharged. My husband spoke with the driver who then said she would go in with her, but once we hung up, the driver just dropped her off. Luckily my husband was able to calm her down and get her on the plane, a but it was a miracle that we didnt end up having to call the police and have her transferred to the hospital.Financially, its clear that this organization is only interested in payment. They initially lied, telling us that they had gotten pre-authorization for her stay (they didnt even try) and that based on their conversation with Blue Cross, our portion of the payment would be a portion of the $21,000 monthly bill. Ill make a long story short and just say that we paid almost every dime out of pocket. On the very few claims that blue cross paid, they billed us for the remainder even though they signed a contract with Blue Cross saying they would accept their allowance as payment in full (we will investigate as to whether or not this is insurance fraud on their part). In summary - I would recommend staying away unless you can be guaranteed a particular therapist. I think the vast majority of them are more representative of her first therapist. We were offered the opportunity to send her to Lifeskills in Florida (another facility under the same corporate umbrella) but it would have been the same experience without Jay.
The treatment our son received at Pasadena Villa was superb. The staff - from admissions and administration on down, were courteous and kind; and Dr. K, the psychiatrist, was incredibly knowledgeable in changing and adjusting our sons medications. The facility itself is reminiscent of a beautiful ski chalet, nestled in the Smoky Mountains. And I cannot say enough good things about our sons therapist, Robin. Robin was a wonder worker, helping to affect a remarkable, positive change in our son. Unlike the other center (see below), it was much easier to get information about our sons treatment, and the weekly family therapy sessions via phone were expertly handled by Robin, as well. Some background: our son, who is on the Autism Spectrum, had severe problems during his first quarter at college, and had deteriorated to such a state that he was told he had to take a medical leave of absence. My wife flew with him to a very famous treatment center in Arizona that said they knew how to treat patients on the spectrum. Not only did they not know how to properly deal with our son, he ended up much worse, and eventually we were told he could no longer get treatment there. We had heard good things about Pasadena Villa during our initial research, and that they had particular skill in treating those on the Autism Spectrum (although that wasnt our sons only problem, at all). This time, the positive reputation was deserved.
Pasadena Villa took care of my loved one in a way that I will forever be grateful for. The staff was very friendly and supportive and showed so much love and compassion. Anything that I had an issue with was resolved quickly and respectfully. I would recommend this treatment centre to others as it gave us hope and we can now see a future for our loved one. We are very grateful.
I was a patient here back in 2015 and I can say that this is a pretty good place to recover from a major life event or diagnosis. The property is kind of small but very well maintained. There are both single rooms and double rooms where you share the room with another patient. I started in a double room and moved to a single which was a bit nicer. My psychiatric doctor was very professional along with my counselor. I had been put onto certain medication while in the hospital which caused me speech problems and akathisia. The doctors here (Dr. Raman) were very quick to change medications and get me onto a set of medications that Im stable on to this moment. This was probably the biggest benefit to the program was the care of the doctors. I will say on the flip side of things this place did have some issues with the regular non-medical staff either being unhelpful or sort of impolite. This didnt really alter my daily routine but you end up relying on the psychiatric technicians to meet your daily needs some times and if you were to meet one of them on a bad day it might mess up your comfort levels or access to certain things. And for the price they charge you think they would require some type of college degree to be a tech which I dont think they do at this location. I was here for about 6 months total, a stay of over 3 months longer than the standard treatment. They wanted to put me in their step down program which is off-site housing but they didnt have the ability to meet the demand for bed spots compared to their availability although they have built more step-down beds on the farm they own for animal therapy, which I will say is really relaxing playing with the bunnies and goats. The last thing I will say is for some reason when I was there they didnt allow and banned vaping for some reason and put people onto cigarettes. This was a bad medical decision because vaping is much healthier than smoking a cigarette even the NHS in the UK advocates vaping as a replacement and harm reduction technique from smoking. The nurses here were pretty nice and helpful although they seemed a little stressed out from all of the work. The nurses have to prepare a mountain of medication and I have no idea how they do it each day for all the residents. The final thing I will say is that staying here isnt necessarily a always safe situation. If your loved one needs a safe and protective atmosphere Ill remind you that this is a group setting and everyone interacts with everyone else in activities and group outings. Weapons are not allowed obviously and they check your luggage during admissions to check for them. If a resident here gets violent it can put you in harms way because the police response time is a little long since its in the mountains. When I stayed at the lodge I witnessed about 2 violent incidents where the patient became psychotic and put the staff and other residents a risk. This may or may not be a concern for you because it really depends on who the lodge admits as a patient and what their diagnosis is if they have the potential to become violent. There was a issue I had with a guest that I reported to my counselor and others reported as well but the guest wasnt really held accountable. After hours this can be a problem because the medical staff leave during the night hours and return during the daytime and there is only a skeleton crew over night when everyone is supposed to be sleeping. Overall I had a good experience here and would like to thank Tom especially for being a very level-headed person who ran great group sessions. If you are looking for a place to send a loved one this place can help but in comparison to other choices I would read reviews first about what would seem the most appropriate fit before you decide. The lodge does a lot to try and make your life better and more positive on a consistent basis. I met many interesting people here and had a lot of positive life experiences. The trips to Pigeon Forge and the national park were fun. Thanks for reading.
I was a resident at Smoky Mountain Lodge for three months and the stay was phenomenal. The therapists, techs, nurses, and psychiatrists are caring and kind-hearted- they definitely go above and beyond the expectations of their jobs. I was treated with respect and was well taken care of. The facility is absolutely beautiful and food is delicious! I am forever grateful for Pasadena Villa!
Family and loved ones of individuals with complex psychiatric disorders coupled with addiction should strongly consider Pasadena Villa. Their care management team approach toward developing life and coping skills is highly effective in expanding quality of life issues, not only for the residents, but also their families. They take a macro, whole body approach by utilizing various patient-specific therapies and techniques. Pasadena Villa provides a safe and nurturing environment while offering transitioning levels of care. They succeed where others fail.
Smoky Mountain Lodge & Pasadena Villa in Tennessee was very welcoming and supportive to our family and our son who was just coming out of a first inpatient experience. We found that having a facility to bridge the gap between the hospital and real life was exceedingly helpful. Nicole was an awesome counselor and Tony was very informative during the admission process. While our hope is to not need this facility again in the future it is comforting to know that it exists if we do.
Our 18 year old son suffers with major depressive disorder and was a patient at Pasadena Villa for about 60 days at the beginning of 2018. Overall our experience was very favorable. The staff was wonderful and my son had only positive things to say about his interactions with them. They were professional, kind and truly helped him get his feet back on steady ground. When dealing with mental health issues, I think it is always difficult to know if youre making the right choice for your loved one. There will be frustrations along the way and we had a few during this period of time, but overall our experience was quite good and I would definitely use this facility again should the need ever arise.
There are very few resources in this country for parents of an adult child who is struggling with mental health issues and substance abuse. I cant thank the staff at Pasadena Villa enough for helping my son to get the help he desperately needed while being treated with respect. He was a resident for about 2 months and in that time he finally found the right combination of medication while learning how to deal with his condition. His therapist had a weekly call with us to discuss his progress and the plans for the next step after Pasadena. Our initial call was with the treating physician as well. Our son loved the group outings and pet therapy. I highly recommend talking with the admissions staff if you are looking for help. They did a thorough review of our sons case, including talking with us about his past in order to assess if this was an appropriate place for him. Im forever grateful.
I had to recently make the very difficult decision to admit my 19 year old son to a residential psychiatric facility. He has struggled for the last couple of years with his issues. We had been trying to find the right place throughout this process - without great success. Pasadena Villa Smoky Mountain Lodge was our answer! The staff there is thoughtful and very caring. When he arrived there he was very lost and struggling greatly. With the help of the amazing therapists there he found his balance in life and the proper medications to help him. Im so grateful he spent time there. And I am grateful to the amazing therapist that helped him through this difficult time. Mental health is a very difficult struggle to have to deal with - thank goodness theres Pasadena Villa to make the journey a bit easier.
Pasadena is in a beautiful, relaxing setting. The staff there truly care about their patients and well being. They do an excellent job of individualizing care. Their communication with the family of the patient is consistent and valuable. I researched the facility before sending my son there and I was told by a source from the west coast it was in the top three facilities in the country.
One of my relatives spent 3 months at Pasadena in the Smoky Mountains .. Struggling with Autism Spectrum Disorder with bouts of Psychosis . I visited on a couple of occasions during that time and besides being a fabulous facility they got the job done . With 3 to 4 Group Therapy sessions daily along with one on one sessions . They were able to wean off the medication and the difference has been tremendous. They are not a lock up facility. Actually, they use an integration method so they have their boarders spend time in outdoor, in community activities. From Golf, to bowling and hiking, every weak. Along with visits to shops to buy personal supplies . Highly recommend !!!
It is hard for me to adequately express how grateful I am to Pasadena Villa. The team at Pasadena Villa, quite literally, saved the life of my loved one and I will be forever grateful. The care my loved one got, from every single team member at Pasadena Villa, could not have been better. If you find yourself, or a loved one, in need of a treatment facility please consider Pasadena Villa.
It is very difficult finding resources for mental illness where you are treated with respect and the staff is experienced with the different conditions, medications and treatment plans. Pasadena Villa was a good experience for our loved one from admissions to doctor care and all levels in between. They were welcoming to family visits and keeping us updated. We were there 3 months and they helped find the right plan for the future upon discharge as with some illnesses there is more care needed and medication adjustments. It was costly so glad to see they have added some insurance plans which is very helpful.
As a family member of a resident of Smokey Lodge, I can truly say after 4 months of working with heir team and flying up to meet members in person, our family could not be happier with the care my brother received. The staff goes above and beyond to be there both in teaching/assisting their residents, but also provides a level of friendship and community my brother needed. It’s heart breaking enough to have to have a family member be that far away, yet when I called, the staff answered and assured me of my brothers care and well being. We are entirely grateful for my brothers stay.
The place is a scam. The food sucks and theres never enough of it. The groups only cover very basic material. I spent a week at Pasadena Villa before I tried to leave, instead they had me committed to a mental hospital, they wouldnt let me take my clothes with me, they threw away about $60 worth of food I had bought at Dollar General, they kept 14 packs of cigarettes that I had. I got my clothes back after getting out of the hospital, except for a coat I had in my room. I got more, better food and treatment when I was Buffalo Valley. Pasadena Villa is set up to look first class, but its all fake. Clients clapped when they presented the meals, but its never any good.
Pasadena Villa was willing to take a chance on my son when others were not. They welcomed him and took an angry, sullen young man and gave him a safe place to be. The animal therapy and outdoor activities gave him something to do when he wasnt yet ready for groups. The therapist was very kind and willing to try anything that might work to draw my son out. We will always be grateful.
I dont think I am being dramatic when I say that sending my daughter to Pasadena Villa saved her life. My daughter was diagnosed with Bipolar disorder in 2009, was hospitalized for about 10 days and then managed the disorder with medication until 2016. She not only managed it, she overcame it to complete high school, then college with a 4.0 grade point average. She was completing her Masters degree when she determined that her medication was giving her side effects that could become permanent. Her despair led her to attempt suicide in March of 2016. After a short hospitalization she jumped right back into her hectic schedule, which proved to be too much for her to handle. She started tinkering with her meds and her behavior became more and more erratic until she was involuntarily committed to the first hospital of six in seven months. Let me stress that she was hospitalized for SEVEN months. After four months of local hospitalization in four different hospitals and no progress, we took her to Pasadena Villa in Tennessee. It is an absolutely beautiful facility with an idyllic location in the middle of the mountains. Our daughter was allowed to go outdoors for the first time in four months. Pasadena Villas caring staff nursed our daughter back to health and was the first hospital out of six to correctly diagnose and medicate her. We have our bright, beautiful daughter back and we could not be more grateful. She has almost completed her Master’s degree, is living independently, has a job and several other job opportunities. God forbid if her health declined once more we know where we would send her without hesitation, to Pasadena Villa Smoky Mountain Lodge.
Pasadena Villa provided a first-rate therapeutic program. The staff was exceptionally caring and responsive to family requests to be kept informed, also well versed in a range of therapies which were tailored to individual needs. Unlike other residential treatment centers we explored, PV had the best approach to social integration, offering supervised opportunities to go into town, for example, to have coffee, see a movie, go bowling, giving residents a sense of autonomy. The variety of classes and experiences offering different tools to deal with problems, along with recreational classes (incl. Yoga), and individual and group sessions, help make PV unique.
Pasadena Villa Smoky Mountain Lodge facility and staff are excellent. We found that the medical system is ill equipped to treat mental illness. Physical issues coupled with mental health issues had reached life threatening status. We are exceedingly grateful to have found the program at Pasadena Villa where the facility and the staff really supported the healing process - for the patient and the family. The patient needed physical and mental healing and the staff ensured that all of his needs were addressed. Recovery is a lifelong process, but the support we received through the program at Pasadena Villa has given us hope for the future.
If I could rate this place with zero stars I would. I was having some serious mental health problems and they decided that I was not a good fit for their facility while I was ready to discharge from Peninsula mental hospital. They refused to help me find another facility and did not care that I had no way to get back home in arkanas. They sent my things to the mental hospital but not all of my things were there. I would never recommend this place to anyone.
We were thankful to find Pasadena Villa Smoky Mountain Lodge. The staff was excellent. The therapist and the doctor were very good at keeping us informed at what was going on. They quickly replied to emails and we had scheduled calls throughout the week. The food was surprisingly good for an institution. Our son gained about 25 pounds during the 4 weeks he was there! The setting is peaceful and quiet. They were accomodating to us coming to visit and taking him out to eat or to a movie and we liked having the option to do things like that. They have an art room and once a week they could drive about 30 mins to a nearby stable and ride horses. This was a welcome break. They also were helpful in the transition process back to our hometown. The process of dealing with insurance and other places is a bit overwhelming so we appreciated their helpfulness with all that. The only real downside was sometimes there was chaos with and among the other residents. That however is just dependent on who happens to be there at any given time. Its not a place that we want to go back to, of course! But it was just the right place for what we needed when we needed it. We are very thankful for all they did for us.
Our family utilized Pasadena to help a loved one and we were so comforted by the level of care, attention, and concern shown to us, especially from the program director. Working in mental health can be a thankless job, I’m sure, but my family is stronger because of the care the team and staff gave.
Most relaxing outpatient place I have been to. If your insurance can handle it, I’ve heard it’s like $20,000 a month. The place is nice and the rooms are nice except my bed was really hard. You don’t have to go to any groups and the best part is my insurance couldn’t handle it so my parents moved me to a transitioning home where I am at right now after a month of being there. I ended up being in my phone and 2DS in my room for a few weeks. I had a good room mate. They also let people here smoke which I don’t. The food is mostly good except sometimes they didn’t have breakfast. Wish there was more of the food because they make it really good and everyone eats it and there are a lot of people there. Everyone there was nice. The view of the mountain is comforting. They want you to go to groups to go out though which is the only negative. One of the girls was there over two months. There are about 5 ish groups a day. They have everything planned on papers and the white board every morning. Some people complained about the staff not able to give them medication but I only take a shot once a month.Really recommend going here.
This place is a joke!
Our son was a resident at Pasadena Villa for almost 3 months. He has a thought/personality disorder along with traumatic brain injury and substance misuse. He admittedly was a very difficult case and Pasadena did take him when other places would not. I think they tried, but there were several things I would suggest. 1) I would have liked the facility to consider weekly calls from the therapist to us privately on how my son was really doing, IN ADDITION to the weekly family sessions over the phone with my son. The family sessions were not very productive and open because the therapist was trying to put a positive spin on things to be encouraging which is certainly important and she allowed my son to lead the meeting but he did little talking. So we never had a really honest clear picture of progress or problems. Clearly he was not liked by a large portion of residents and other problems. We needed to know these things. 2) When my son went to step-down housing they promised they would get him to a job site to work 2-3 days per week. Part of the therapeutic process. Pasadena self-admittedly dropped the ball on that promise and could not get him there. He missed out on a job offer because of it. They then said that he could volunteer 4 hrs a week which was a big disappointment and frustrating. This led to much more free time for him and of course he was at the main lodge during the day with no where to go to relax because he no longer had a room there.3) Unfortunately, my son became aggressive at one point and was taken to a psych hospital. I do not blame Pasadena for doing this at all. What was frustrating and heartbreaking was that after almost 3 months of being in their care and with over $40,000 invested, Pasadena basically washed their hands of him and I had to beg them to get input on what to do next. We were not from the area and not familiar at all. My son is on an antipsychotic monthly injection and was released from the psych hospital yesterday and we do not even know where he is or if he has been giving the medication. He does not have his belongings which are still at Pasadena. I have yet to have a call by Pasadena to see if he’s ok. It’s so tragically sad.
Misleading from the admissions process through discharge. Promises made and never kept. False advertising on website with high staff to patient ratio. There was a very high turnover of staff during my sisters 6 week stay (i believe she said 4 therapists, which caused several group therapies to be cancelled). This is not a horseback riding facility. We had several conversations with admissions staffers regarding my sister riding horses at this facility. This was the primary reason we chose Pasadena Smoky Villa, so my sister could ride horses as we feel it is vital to her stay. She asked about bringing riding gear: boots, saddle, etc. They said they didnt provide much gear so that would be OK, no indication of what the facility actually provided. Once we arrived, the last 10 minutes of our visit admitting my sister, we were informed the stables were under construction. Only in the following week when I followed up with her therapist (not on the day we met when we admitted my sister) were we told by the therapist that there would be no real horseback riding. The horse sessions were frequently cancelled and in 6 weeks my sister spent at the facility, she rode twice. If you come here for that, find somewhere else. The admitting therapists were shocked and surprised and apologized profusely for the misleading information provided to us, despite us sharing with them in our introductory session that we were excited that Pasadena offered horseback riding. They mentioned nothing of the stables or the lack of real horseback riding during the admissions process. We also have video of staff members indicating that the admissions team will say and do anything to get your money and get you in the door, including lying about the treatments to be received and the facility conditions. This was appalling to see and hear. Throughout my sisters treatment, we lacked communication with the staff, and feel there was gross negligence at best and borderline malpractice at worst. She came in with a known medical issue, and bloodwork and testing was not taken for this medical issue nor addressed for over 2 weeks. Several calls and emails go unanswered, despite the team promising follow-ups. It has taken my entire family dozens of calls and emails to get the information we need. As far as discharge, they left my sister to her own devices, and did not set up any appointments for her, was told to do it herself despite their promises from the day we dropped her off that their mission is to ensure a smooth discharge and follow-on treatment so she can manage on her own. She is now going on 2 weeks without follow-up treatment, as the facility did not participate in the discharge process, as promised, and withheld medical records for 10 days, causing delay in continuing treatment. Within that 10 days, we did not have anyone from the facility return phone calls or emails. It took 10 days from my sisters discharge to receive a response from anyone at the facility regarding transferring her medical records to her next treatment facility. Dont expect urgency, and expect to spend a significant amount of time ensuring your loved one is receiving the treatment they promise. $30,000 later and we have many questions unanswered, many promises unfulfilled, and my sisters treatment completely at risk due to the lack of discharge procedures. Ive been promised return phone calls and emails by the Assistant CEO, Clinical Director and Program Director, all of which have not been fulfilled. Im happy to provide feedback to any one considering this facility and speak directly to you if you message me directly.Update 10/8/19: I see owner responded below to contact Julie, the Associate CEO. If you see above - my calls and emails have gone unreturned. For one of these items she had her assistant follow up but our major concerns and questions and items for follow up have still yet to be addressed, despite our efforts to contact her and her promises to return a call. It is clear these are not taken seriously and their promises are empty and unfulfilled.
I spent 2 months at Pasadena Villa Smokey mountain Lodge . My experience was nothing but fantastic . I had a great team of therapist psycologist and a great team of tech A and B team. The nurses where always willing to answer any questions. I would recommend this facility in the future !
It was a great experience very nice staff and amazing people
This facility completely changed my life. there was a time where i wasnt able to speak or eat and now im a productive part of society working two jobs, living on my own, and paying my own bills. I was taught techniques and ways to keep myself stable to keep myself going. I owe this place so much for getting me to where I am today. I never thought I would live again but here I am.
Crooks. $24k a month to live in a Posh environment. They are incompetent and running a business, not a care facility. I came from working in DC, used to working and collaborating. That didnt happen here. Their rec team and cooking staff is great. The rest is not up to standards. Someone got beat in the face with a skateboard while they were sleeping in their room at night. We had previously warned the executive director that this particular male was targeting this female as he had already appeared in her room at night unannounced. They made no efforts to fix this. My parents spent $72k and Im still just as bad as I ever was.
Pasadena Villa gave me my sister back when other places wouldt try due to dual diagnosis. They helped us at a very scary time. they were nice to us. It was pricey up front but the were upfront. No surprises.
The help from the people in Tennessee for the resident that was there was very beneficial. I do understand all cases not the same with mental health, but the people working in Orlando and the billing people are TERRIBLE. Nothing but excuses, no answers that are real. you get charged 8% to do billing but constantly told billing is a common courtesy. There billing agency screwed up my account and others per employees from Pasadena but they dont care just keep paying. they billed insurance company alot more then they settled with out of pocket costs and evenwith there mistakes would not help with added costs due to there screw ups. I also called CEO he never returned my call and when brought this to peoples attentions was told about chain of commands. In guess when you have to guarantee money you are important but not when it comes to asking questions and getting answers.
AVOID THIS PLACE! ALL THEY SEE IS MONEY$$$ Huge bait and switch, they tell you one thing and treat you with respect but as soon as you sign those papers things change. the director is a incompetent, lying, insincere person. when i decided i had enough of them mistreating me i learned how uncooperative they become, they wouldnt give me my things back and wouldnt let me talk to the doctor. when i called my personal doctor to report my medication being withheld from me the pasadena vila ppl wouldnt give me the # of their doctor so i could give that to mine so i could get my things. around this time a new family is their and i tell them all about this, and their treatment of people, how the staff can be heard making fun of people... 10 mins later the nurses are yelling for me saying they will give me my stuff. DONT TRUST THESE PEOPLE, ITS ALL ABOUT MONEY!!$$$$ this place should be shut down or get new management.
As a referring professional I gauge my program options on specific criteria such as reviews of patients placed at a program, follow through by staff working within the program, ability to communicate with staff serving the population, and experiences of others doing similar placements at the given program. No one program can fix an individual. What does happen at SML from my experiences is an improvement of the life of the patient by providing successive connected opportunities.
UPDATE: 3/28/19 - Please Note: Update refers to billing process only; not the care received! We recently received a notice from a collection agency about a past-due bill from Renaissance Healthcare Group (Pasadena Villa); however, we never received a single statement from Pasadena Villa for charges our insurance company did not pay. On March 22, 2019 (7 months post-discharge) we receive notice that the account has been turned over to collections. Never once were we contacted by phone, email, or postal mail that there was an outstanding balance. We have been attempting to resolve this matter with Pasadena Villa for almost a week now and no one will respond to our phonecalls/emails. It is very disappointing that an expensive, highly-regarded facility such as this conducts business in this manner. The care was 5 star; the billing and invoice handling is a 0. Beware - they will not send you an invoice but rather turn you over to a collection agency without giving you the opportunity to resolve.Pasadena Villa/Smoky Mountain Lodge made such a difference for our daughter and consequently, our family. She has been diagnosed with depression, anxiety, PTSD, and Borderline Personality Disorder. She was hospitalized in an acute care behavioral health hospital for these issues for approximately one month before moving to Smoky Mountain Lodge. The admissions counselor was warm, understanding and professional and was able to put our minds at ease. Our daughters therapist was wonderful as well. He had a great rapport with our daughter and was able to help steer her toward making informed decisions and not just always having to react to circumstances that life throws at you. He regularly communicated with us and we were able to engage in telephone family sessions, which we felt were very informative and beneficial. Through the treatment that our daughter has received there, we have seen a tremendous difference in her ability to deal with certain aspects of her past and be able to move on with her life without being completely sidelined by her problems on a daily basis. The social integration model used at Smoky Mountain Lodge was very beneficial, as our daughter has issues with social anxiety and meeting new people. She was able to participate in group therapy sessions all throughout the day and attended several outings with other residents. Smoky Mountain Lodge was a wonderful opportunity for our daughter.
Pros:1. Able to express concerns to my daughters therapist, and have them addressed in a timely manner.2. Variety of therapies available: CBT, DBT, individual therapy, animal assisted therapy, social outings, etc. Exercise equipment available.3. Beautiful accommodations, with no more than 2 persons per room. Bathrooms in each bedroom. Laundry facilities available onsite.4. Great food service, nutrition concerns addressed.5.The director followed up in a timely manner when we had issues getting our daughters prescriptions sent to her pharmacy after discharge.6. They worked with us to make it as affordable as possible after insurance stopped covering my daughters stay.7. They just became in-network with Anthem BCBS.Cons:1. Disappointed that I did not get to speak to my daughters therapist at discharge, even though she was aware I was coming to pick her up and still had questions that needed to be addressed.2. Animal assisted therapy was never made available to my daughter the entire 6 weeks she was there, even though she requested the opportunity.3. Even though I expressed my concerns regarding my daughters access to social media, I was told they are not able to remove cell phones, computer/internet access from residents. This is something that should be available in an individuals personal plan of care/treatment, ESPECIALLY if the patient has a problem with social media. My daughter was able to continue to cause problems with persons/situations at home, even though I expressed these concerns to her therapist and asked her to have some restrictions to these devices.4. It took several weeks to get transportation set up for my daughter to attend church services, even though this was requested on admission and several times while she was there.Overall, it was a good experience for us. I wish there was a more spiritual component to the program, which my daughter desperately needed. It is difficult to find good programs on ones own, and this one was recommended by the local acute care behavioral health facility in our area.
We had a very positive experience at Smokey Mountain Lodge with my sons treatment protocol and are very happy we sent him there.
Scenery is beautiful, as well as the facility itself. Nursing staff, doctor and mental health techs suck. This is a very overpriced place
I came into this facility more broken down than ever and after spending seven months here I honestly learned more about myself and life than I had ever learned anywhere else. I found my sponsor through the open AA meetings they offer onsite, I found my connection with my higher power again, and I also found myself. The lessons I learned from staff who genuinely care, and don’t just give up on you are lessons that I’ll take with me for a lifetime. Thank you Smoky Mountain Lodge for allowing me to be no longer enabled, and allowing me to gain my life back! I wouldn’t be the person I am today if it wasn’t for this place.
We were scared and overwhelmed when researching residential treatment centers for our son Maxwell. After an exhaustive search, we were very comfortable with Pasadena Villa (PV). From our initial intake email and phone conversations with Laurie Daniels, to our initial visit, to last Saturday, when we picked Maxwell to come home.Laurie and the executive director, Sally Lawes, were very transparent and answered all of our questions. They allowed us to add language into the agreement, provided us with references to call, and had a team available for us to meet with when we visited PV prior to admitting Maxwell.Once Maxwell was admitted, he saw the psychiatrist, Dr. Ownby, within 48 hours. PV involved us in every decision that was made, we had weekly phone calls with Maxwell and his therapist Tom Breitung (who was the best therapist for Maxwell), and they allowed Maxwell to advocate for his own discharge date. Dr. Ownby was great and kept us informed of any changes made to Maxwells medications. Dr. Ownby met regularly with Maxwell and was involved in several of the phone calls we had with Tom and Maxwell. It was an overall great experience, given the circumstances.Maxwell was also very fond of the entire staff at PV! But most importantly, Maxwell and Tom had a great relationship, which helped with Maxwells progress. We are hopeful for a brighter future for Maxwell. It was well worth the investment...thank you, PV!
An amazing community with compassionate, caring staff.
You get what you put in. There are numerous meetings that go over a multitude of topics, ranging from independent living to coping with mental illness.
Place is a scam, after the first month they should let u leave, its a complete. Stay away
It wont give an accounting so your insurance can cover at least half also my daughter was declared better over a year ago and is still jobless
I had a great therapist every one was great
Overpriced and worthless.
