Definitely not anything like shown online. They refused to refund my $135 for Cabin B. We arrived at night and realized no close parking and .25 bath means find the nearest restroom outside for toilets and showers. We did not stay in cabin and were told no refunds. Definitely would not recommend for senior citizens.
Sarah gave us an on the spot tour of the facilities so we could see if it would work for our family next trip! She let us tour each of the options to stay. So kind and accommodating! It’s a spring fed river so even in late September it had what looked to be great water levels. Thank you for taking the time, we will be back to stay!
There was a few things that couldve been better Such as no signal for the television and our back door was hard to lock. But if youre looking for a place to de-stress and have some alone time either by yourself or with others this is the place you want to be.Its currently under construction but thats fine.. Taking nice long walks through the woods or just on the trail was amazing.Sons Geronimo was peaceful and I wouldnt mind visiting again when the place is completely finished.
First I would like to say the facility was nice. We reserved the Homestead House for a Family Reunion and as we were travelling to our destination we received a phone call telling us that they were having mechanical issues with the house. Mind you the rest of the family was staying at Geronimo Creek. They booked us a tent for the first night which was just across the road from where our original reservation was. That was fine, but the next day we had to move to a treehouse 45 minutes away. Mind you this was supposed to be a family reunion. So we have to waste much of the day going to the other location and checking in there. Of course they booked us a cabana that we never asked for, used or wanted. I guess to make up for the cost difference. We were not happy with the situation. I realize that mechanical issues happen sometimes. That being said I dont think that booking us accommodations that far away is acceptable.
We had a tree house and it was roomy for 5-6 people. That kinny spiral stair need to changed, it is way too narrow and dangerous to climb up. We had fun and relaxing. Lake was super cold even in hot summer, that is nature. Grills are everywhere which is great for BBQ.
My biggest complaint is that the website makes you think that all of the properties are in the same location. Its not till you read the novella description that you realize that they are not. Its really not a tree house as described. The $85 cleaning fee is the same no matter how long you stay. There were hairs in the sink and lots of dead bugs around. River access was not as easy as they made it out to be. Im disappointed based on the price.
Don’t waste your money. We rented two spots. A cabin and suite. They were dirty. Raccoons everywhere. Bugs under the couch. Air conditioner made a funny noise. Not safe. And disgusting. No wash rags. An awful experience. The cabins don’t have bathrooms or showers. You have to use a nasty shower in a little camper. It’s absolutely disgusting.
We stayed in cabin #6. Worth every penny!I feel like the description doesn’t do this place justice. It had everything we needed. Pots, pans, towels, sugar, salt, pepper, coffee, creamer, and even a fan!Nothing ever felt too crowded and everyone we encountered was kind. Everything was nice and clean. We are already looking at dates to come back!
Houses are really nice inside and have all kitchen appliances and utensils to make a complete meal. Microwave oven coffee maker .Electric Grill charcoal grill..But for 300 .00 not worth it . REALLY crowded and the creek is dirty green water where is like super crowded..not a good place to relax from other people. seems like you are on the projects...rather stay on a resort where you can actually get more for your money..
The river was so beautiful and the cabins were clean and beautiful! The beds there were awesome and I had a great time! 10/10 would recommend!
Fun family friendly place to relax and enjoy time together. The only drawback were the snakes, but they didnt bother anyone. Friendly staff, clean, comfy accommodations. Overall a keeper.
First of all, the place is nothing as it was advertised. It is very poor quality for the price that is charged. The water was so dirty, brown and bad smell. I did not get in the water because I was scared to catch a bacteria. The facility rules are ridiculous. One staff member named Tate came to warned us once about the noise that we were making. At that time we were playing cards at our small patio. After that we went inside the tent, and he came again. We cannot even relax on this vacation. It was a waste of time and money.
Excited to go and when finally arrived everything is not as expected it is small. NO wifi, very very low signal on phones, NO channels AND no washer/dryer to do laundry. The pictures on Facebook throws you off to think this is a great place for me it was not, the river has a stinky smell, fish are small to go fishing. We booked in cabin 11 its on the otherside of Geronimo Creek so its called Son of Geronimo or something like that. Its so quiet that it feels so lonely with nothing to do other than just swim on the small pools, not much activities to do in that spot. we also went across the street to Geronimo Creek to do the kayak from 1 to 10 I give it a 5 because there is a lot of spiders on trees and water is stinky. Cabin is not that bad but wish the window had more curtains on bathroom and by the front door they can see inside from the side of it at night when coming out of the bathroom and if you dont closet them or try to close the gaps they will see you in bathroom if someone is outside so not much privacy it feels uncomfortable.
This place was beyond amazing, very relaxing and like it was another world away from all stress
The Teepee experience was magnificent & the creek had everything for an outstanding time. Kayaking, Rope swing, and beautiful critters/turtles down the creek.
Fantastic spot if you have want fun time away from the city.....water is perfect
Just not my cup of tea. For a family with kids it would be different. We stayed in a teepee. The bathroom was quite a ways off for me and the 2 other 60 ish ladies I was with. We had some issues and Ashley and Corrine were on top of it immediately. It just wasnt what I was expecting.
This place is a joke water looks like a mud pit curfew is at 11pm. We came here to relax and have a good time and well we couldn’t they kept telling us we were to loud felt like I was in quarantine the whole weekend. This place is a hole in the wall!
Love this place!! Staff was amazing. So many things to do if your not wanting to get into the water. I will definitely be returning.
We just got back and had a great time. The lake was great. The kids did kayaking and paddle boarding, everyone was very friendly. The bathrooms on the ground were clean and the room was clean, well stocked, and the A/c was great. We went a week after SEASON so off season which cut our price in half! Please keep in mind this is a campground! Racoons did try to come on the porch at night but we made sure we cleaned the prep area very well every night and took all food items in and closed the bedroom area securely. The gameroom was fun and the grounds keepers cleaned it daily and even the bbq grill we used. Hot tub was closed due to Covid. Overall great location. HEB 6 miles away, dollar general 3 miles away. the outfoor games could use some updating. I brought an extra hot plate, my own pillows lysol and trash bags.
Absolutely recommend, would of given 5 stars but check in is at 3pm and check out is 11am, did not like the $39 cleaning charge added to bill, even though the contract states you must wash all your dishes and collect bedding and towels yourself.
This was my third stay at Geronimo. The cabins are always so much fun! Very nice scenery, great firepits and a wonderful collection of outdoor and indoor activities. We met Robbie the on-site groundskeeper this time and he was AWESOME! Very nice guy and super helpful and informative. We will definitely be coming back!
Great location, available showers and restrooms outside. Plenty of kayaks available game room was good basketball court was a plus for my son we enjoyed our barbecue as a family at our staycation.
We stayed in teepee 0. You can hear all the cars race by in the middle of the night. Teepees are very spacious. You have a private grill. The teepee area needed to be mowed. The water was very dirty but it had rained a lot. The hot tub was out of service. Overall, we had a good time grilling out with friends who rented Teepee 1. The price was a little expensive for what we got though and I am not sure we will go back.
Had a really good time. Place was clean. Everyone had their own bbq grill and assigned bathrooms per cabin number. Has a pretty cool game room set up with a pool table, ping pong, and Foosball. Theres also a basketball court. They have access to the river with kayaks available. Theres also a firepit and hot tub. The tree house cabins have satellite TV,wifi,ac, microwave, dishes, mini fridge, sink, and a griddle to cook on. Do wish the river was a bit more cleaned up of debris but weve been getting some much needed rain so its completely understandable. Im most certainly going to stay here again and would certainly recommend it to anyone.
We absolutely loved it! My kids enjoyed every minute of it. The game room is clean, the bathrooms are clean as well. This place is perfect when you want to get away from the city. The best part was the creek! The water was a little cold but that didn’t stop us from getting in the water or using the kayaks. We also had a lovely family next door that made our stay even better.
Owner called cops because we were quietly playing volleyball two minutes after quiet time
What a great low-key place to take your family. We stayed in a tee-pee which was great for us and the kids (girl,15 & boy, 13). There were many options of fun activities for our whole family including basketball, pool table, paddle boarding, kayaking, hot tub, and more. Having a firepit was great too.Not only is this a fun place for the family, it would also be a fun place for friends to vaca together.
Awesome place. Great weekday stay. There is absolutely nothing bad to say about this place. I believe we stayed in the laughing cabin; the cabin was cozy and had the home feel to it. You wont regret going here.
We enjoyed the kayaking, sitting around the campfire and playing games in the game room. It was very clean the bathroom showers could be better but the cabins were laid out very well, clean, and surprisingly nice . Overall the atmosphere was relaxed, the park host was a little too attentive to what the guests were doing and we felt like he was snooping sometimes. I would recommend staying here and we will come back.
Place was scenic but can only do kayak. River wasnt clean so it wouldnt consider it an activity. Camping and relaxing is probably main focus
We have had such a fun time here at GCR!! We came down on this trip to celebrate my little sister graduating high school! We are so grateful that everyone has been so nice! The teepees are just as cool as I could have ever imagined! They come well equipped with everything in the little kitchenette too! Our TV volume wasnt working, and after putting in a guest request, one of the property managers Maddie(I believe) was super quick to switch it out for us! The private bathrooms were really clean, but be aware of the water pressure in the shower! Its REALLY strong! Pricing for the teepees wasnt bad after splitting it between the 6 of us! They have sand volleyball,, basketball,, corn hole, a game room, hot tub, and the river with kayaks, paddle boards, and rope swings right on property. I will recomend this spot to everyone I know!
Would have gave 5 stars but they have Rattlesnake s !!! Huge ones. Nice clean grounds, nice cottages. Lots of Moskito s.
Perfect place for a glamping trip. We thoroughly enjoyed our Labor day weekend at Geronimo Creek Retreat. We stayed in a teepee. It has 2 queen beds, a couch mini fridge that worked really well, TV, ac, fan, microwave, sink etc. The teepee was well equipped with everything you need. The beds, not so comfortable but not terrible either. The only negative for us was the overwhelming smell of Pine-Sol when we first walked in. We bought candies and baking soda in to neutralize the smell and after that it was not an issue. The outdoor area for our teepee was great. We had plenty of outside tables and chairs, an amazing large fireplace as well as a charcoal grill and smoker. There are hammocks and lounge chairs and a really cute area in front to fish if you desired. The creek area was special. Ropes for swinging and jumping into the Creek and plenty of life jackets, kayaks, paddle boards etc for water activities and fun. There was also a game room, sand volleyball court and basketball court as well. Lots of stuff to do or many places to relax whatever your choice. The place is not brand new, so dont expect luxurious accommodations, do expect a solid place to camp. Outside private bathrooms are adequate as well. Would definitely recommend and would return.
It wasnt what we see at the pictures, the cabin was ground level, picture shows other thing.in the description says: Elevated and resting under the shade of the Pecan Trees, was ground level. rusty sink, it was dirty looking place, the only nice was the interior of the cabin and the creek, that was good, common areas was ok.I Try to speak with manager, was unavailable and no one call back, as they told me.Theres other options of stay in the same place, i tried the getaway cabins, probably will be a better experience in other location.
Quiet and clean place, I’d recommend this location for a weekend getaway
The place was awesome!!! Amber - property manager was superb, she stopped by our rental to say hi and asked is we needed anything. We had asked for a couple of things and when we returned they were sitting in our porch. The onsite maintenance guy and the maintenance manager were also great with a quick assist of the a/c and wifi issues. Water was great, atmosphere was wonderful. We had the house and invited friends and it made for a great get away week. We are already setting up for another get away with 5 other sets of friends. Highly recommend Geronimo Creek. The staff was always helpful and cheerful. Was a wonderful time and we will be back. Thanks again.
I loved it here. Perfect for relaxing girls weekend. The cabin had everything we needed including bath towels, cooking utensils, 2 burner electric stovetop, pots and pans, soaps, a fan, and much more. The A/C wasnt the best in the world but it was better than nothing. The cabin felt very clean and well taken care of. We watched TV and it worked perfectly. The internet was spotty but we didnt expect much. We did not use the game room but it was good size and would be great for kiddos. The toilet attached to the cabin was not used as it seemed complicated. But we were a 30 second walk from a bathroom trailer that was very clean and well kept so we werent disappointed at all. I think as long as you accept this isnt a luxury hotel but is a cabin. We went floating on the pond and had a good time. We stayed in cabin A which was perfectly secluded away from alot of the families that stayed in the row of cabins. Just walking by that area you can tell it was highly populated with kids so if thats not your thing I would suggest cabin A or B. We had a blast and are planning our next trip already.
My group and I were concerned at first due to recent reviews however once we got there we clearly did not experience the same issues. Our units were VERY clean, set up well (some older furniture in the living room and upstairs) but other than that everything was amazing. The game room was a ton of fun for the kids, swimming and kayaking in the creek was a blast as well! Overall we had a stunning experience and cannot wait to come back. We loved it!
This place is so amazing! It was a little weekend getaway for me and my husband. Only thing I regret is that I didnt find this place sooner. We live in Elgin now but lived in Seguin for a couple years before moving away. Glad I found this peaceful treasure now. We stayed in the teepee which was such a cool and unique experience! Heres some tips I learned from this weekend:1. If you intend to use the pullout couch bring a set of bedding for it. The bed was still wrapped in plastic and there was no extra sheets available to use for it.2. The towels provided are big and thick and not like hotel towels we thought they would be. We brought our towels from home to use and ended up not needing them afterall.3. If you intend to use the kayaks or paddle boards, I recommend you bring your own PFD as the ones provided looked pretty worn from over use and daily exposure to the elements.4. They provide a lot of what youll need for use in the mini kitchen. Couple pots, pans, bowls, plates, cups, and utensils. Also, they have stuff for you to wash it all with. They even have a full size coffee maker and stuff you need for it. Unfortunately, the creamer was expired and rock hard but that was a minor issue in the grand scheme of things. Well just bring our own next time.Lastly, the wifi leaves much to be desired. They were responsive to us when we couldnt connect the TV to the signal. The staff member that stays on the property was super helpful and informed us that theyre working on getting Spectrum to install hard lines. Thatll be a definite plus as my cell didnt get great service out there and we enjoy listening to music while relaxing and basking in the beautiful scenery! We love this place so much! Well be bringing our kids next time for sure!
We had a blast and will definitely return. Very fun campground with choices of teepees or treehouse style cabins. Ive always wanted to camp in a teepee but my wife only glamps so she was skeptical when she booked one for us as a surprise birthday weekend for me. It turned out to be the best of both worlds. We had a private bathroom and parking is just steps away from the teepee. Hot tub was hot and other campers were friendly. Highly recommend!
Would honestly never come again. Cabins are way too close to each other. You can hear everything that goes on outside. Kayaks and paddles are old and worn out. The rope to swing onto the creek needs to be replaced. Each cabin has its own toilet but you can smell everything if anyone uses it. You’d think that they’d do a better job at cleaning during a pandemic. The pond or whatever body of water it is near the teepees is ugly to say the least. A lot of people that made reservations literally left the day of. If you need to do homework or anything work related and need wifi your best bet would be to go to a diner nearby or maybe the city. There’s also a raccoon problem. Literally every night a raccoon would climb it’s way onto our patio so hide your food well.
Great place to have a weekend getaway. Cabin was clean and was well equipped.
GCB was awesome. Though our incinerator restroom was broken we probably would have opted to walk the mere 20 ft to either closest 4 full restrooms because of the smell. That said that is my only negative comment. They had everything! From amenities to creature comforts to entertainment it was all there. Coffee, satellite TV, dishes utensils and cutlery. Personal grills and comfortable beds with soft linens. The ambiance of camping was all there with the cutest little cabin (#6) and Edison lights all throughout. We kayaked, enjoyed the nature scenery, birdwatched and played pool. We took hot showers and cozied up to warm campfires. The staff kept things well cleaned and equipped. Any issues we just contacted them and they got us anything we needed. We plan on going back for sure.
Fun fun what more can I say
My husband and I were so excited to take our two kids (2 and 4 years old) on a mini vacay during covid. We booked 3nights/4 days and stayed in getaway cabin b. The cabin was decent and pretty comfortable however, the “bathroom” was not glamorous or glamping. My 4 yr old was terrified to use it because he thought he would catch on fire (electric incinerator). also our tent didn’t have a shower which I did know in advance. I didn’t realize it would be a portable shower without warm water that we would have to use. My husband and I used them but after the first night, we washed the kids in the sink. We were expecting more to do honestly. Barely any access to the creek and not really anywhere for the kids to swim that wasn’t too deep. The pond was absolutely disgusting. Do not swim in there. Raccoons were sooo bad. One ended up coming into OUR ZIPPED tent in the middle of the night. We ended up going into New Braunfels to have something to do and left early on the 4th day. We won’t be returning.
A/C cabins. Enough said.
Would definitely not recommend this place and echo the other reviewers of it not being well kept up. The only good thing is they seem to have hired a very nice maintenance manager named Javier who honestly was great, but its too little too late. They added two of the Getaway Cabins away from the others and theyre not on stilts so the door to them is useless. Im not athletic at all and could easily hop over the balcony and grab anything I wanted.Additionally, while the other cabins look out onto the property, ours looked straight at the other cabins bathroom. Awkward eye contact for sure when youre trying to enjoy sitting on the balcony. Also, they use incinerator toilets so if the wind is blowing that direction you smell burning poo. This was also not helped by the fact that there were two broken toilets thrown behind our cabin near the AC intake so more burnt poo smell. Our other view was of a run down travel trailer and an old junky chicken coop. Most of the kayaks were in pretty bad shape, the paddles broken, and the rope swings had been fixed so many times by just retying knots and leaving them with long ends that it caught a ton of kids and adults when they let go; causing bruises and raw rubs. The hot tub was out of order and appeared to have been that way for quite some time. The two public bathrooms with showers were disgusting. Toilet paper everywhere, one of the toilets was overflowing and one shower had so much dirty build up on the head you were better off bathing in the creek. Finally, yes the cabins are nice and well stocked, but the beds were worn, hard as rocks, and dusty. Pictures are definitely deceiving and would recommend finding somewhere else that isnt exorbitantly overpriced for what it is.
Very nice cabins good relaxing fun...
While our group had a good time, the place needs quite a bit of Maintnance. We stayed in a tree house. The deck is very dirty.trees over grown and needed a good pressure wash. There were also multiple broken light bulbs on the light strings of the deck. The shower inside had mold in it. The underside of our cabin had multiple places where they cut out the insulation and the pipes leaked water on our vehicles and us when someone showered. There was a hole in the floor of our bedroom that you could see clear to the ground. The wifi did not work at all the 3 days we spent there even resetting the router many times. The kitchen is also not heavily stocked as stated, if you plan to cook a lot, bring things you think you will want/need. The outside bathrooms had standing water and pee all over the floors and were not kept up over the weekend. The water was fun by smaller than anticipated. The pictures are misleading and for the price we payed, I wouldn’t return due to the upkeep of the property.
Very relaxing! Lots for kids to do. We will be back. And we saw an armadillo!
Not worth the price for the stay. The water was shut off the first night we stayed and didnt get turned back on til the morning. Also there were portable restrooms next to us and it smelled like urine almost the entire time we stayed. And we also had people come up to the cabin thinking it was the office/property management site. Very annoying and we will not stay here again, we couldnt even stay on the site during the day and the creek was mucky and stagnant so it seemed unsafe with it possibly being a snake farm.
The place was really nice for what we needed. There were some downsides tho. The spiral stairs are only sized for children and not adults. It was extremely hard to get up into the loft. Anyone probably over 5’7-5’9 is going to have a really hard time using it. As well as anyone who is not skinny. Then we were told the couches folded out into pull out beds. They do not, at least not in the tree houses. The pull out bed from the closet is only suited for a child. We had the max amount of adults in our tree house, 8, and all were guys. So had to double up in the full/queen sized bed(s), one slept on the couch and one slept on the floor using the mattress from the closet pull out bed. That mattress was basically like sleeping on the floor. The internet does not work here. But that is because they are in the process of getting cables laid out to them. So until then they have to rely on dish type internet. If you have Verizon, AT&T, and some other cell companies you might have trouble getting service. Only like 3 out of the group of like 30 of us got cell service and that was with Boost mobile believe it or not.Ok, why did I rate it 4/5? Because it was a very nice property. Even with other guests we weren’t all on top of each other. The tree houses have decks that are huge! And great for hanging out and enjoying company of others. Lots of fire pits, hammocks, swings throughout. The kitchens have basic amenities and cooking dishes like pots and pans and such. Full sized fridge, oven, microwave. Showers are large and roomy. The places we stayed all had towels and wash clothes. There are bathrooms outside also. The river was to cold to get into but they have kayaks and paddle boards to use. A small game room with a things like pool table and such. Honestly it was a truly great stay and I really really hope we all get together again. We flew in from all over the country to all meet here.
This places has potential, and that is why it gets a 2 (almost 3) - The infrastructure is nice, the air conditioned cabins are awesome and nicely furnished. It has all you need, I almost just wanted to stay inside them. Outside not so much. The place was trashy, literally. We stayed in one of the cabins (#4). The T-pees are around a dirty pond, definitely not good for swimming and not even pretty to look at. The tree houses look great. There is no staff in premises and it shows. It lacks maintenance. It is like they set up a really cool place and then just went, good luck, have fun!The common bathrooms were dirty, as in a huge dump in one of them. Who know how long it took for someone to come clean it. We did not use them. We had a sink and an incinerator toilet in our cabin (no shower, although the pictures make it look like it does), we made due with that.If you are concerned about COVID, this is NOT the place for you. There is zero social distance and we didn’t see a single mask. The common bathrooms had signs about using disinfectant after each use and clean towels. The clean towels tub was empty and no disinfectant in sight either. Again is like they have good intentions but no follow through. The creek is fun, small, but fun. The water toys, kayaks and such was great to have. But again with no staff on site, everything is thrown everywhere and it all just looks trashy. But yes, it was super nice to be able to just grab a kayak and go for a quick ride. With some TLC and maintenance, this place could be so much better. As it is, I don’t recommend it.
Wonderful Experience....100% recommended....👍🙂😊
Stayed In the tepee area. This could be a fabulous vacation spot. It’s in a beautiful location but is in serious need of some upkeep. Bushes need to be trimmed in pathways. I’m not y’all and had to bend over so I didn’t hit my head just to walk to and from the tepee to the restroom. Landscaping in general needs to be attended and the pump in pond needs to be worked on just to keep the water from being stagnant and a mosquito breeding ground. The docks need to be shored up and the rope swings need to be replaced for safety. It was great that kayaks and paddle boards were available for free. It was quiet and peaceful. Management needs to replace broken outdoor furniture and remove the broken items
It looks nice. They were a lot of people here even though it still a little chilly.
Nice place but if they are going to charge this much you shouldnt have to deal with cockroaches in the room...many in the teepees
Our family and another rented teepee’s 0 & 1 for the long Thanksgiving weekend. It was okay, but not worth what they charge. We had a day of rain and found Teepee 0 leaked by the window & door. Teepee 1 leaked by the sink. The bathrooms are not connected to the teepee. We didn’t understand that when we reserved and wouldn’t have stayed there if we had known. So, if you don’t like taking a walk in the middle of the night, this place is not for you. We were given 4 towels in the bathroom, even though it should sleep 5-6 people. (So pack extra) Our teepee had 2 beds & a pull out couch. We had to go buy blankets since there is no blanket provided for the couch bed. (So pack extra) There is a volley ball area, however the multiple cats are certain this is their restroom.. please keep your kids out of that! The kayaks are a nice touch, along with the game room. The hot tub was closed for our entire stay, so if like us you are thinking it’d be a great fall activity... don’t book here because you can’t use it. It wasn’t awful.. but we won’t book again.
I am very disappointed in our booking experience. I specifically requested two tree house cabins next to each other. I mentioned them by name in my notes upon booking five months prior to our visit. Mind you, all four tree houses were available at the time of my booking because I toyed with the idea of renting more if our group was going to be larger. When I called to verify the two tree houses I had requested were reserved, I was told they could not give us the ones I had requested at a time when ALL FOUR were available. I am very disappointed. If you are not going to read the comments in the comment note area that is added to the reservation page, then why have it there? This is not a good business practice. Very, very disappointed. Then I was told I was unable to cancel my reservation and that the whole booking is fully earned, although they are unable to comply with my request (nor did they inform me that they wouldnt be able to accommodate us. We will not be returning.
We had a blast! We were 6 & stayed at the Prairie Flower Tree house. Everyone was nice as well. Perfect place to get away. Lake was beautiful & my family enjoyed it all. Thank you for a great place.
Lovely place, tons of activities, very clean bathrooms & showers.
Overall it was a great experience..... website should be more specific regarding for the cabins the showers are not in the cabins, and the “kitchen” is basically a hot plate for one pan cook at a time. More outlets could be useful. BBQ pits could be upgraded. Better ventilation for game room and restrooms.
Our family stayed 5 days, 4 nights at Geronimo Creek, and our kids did not want to leave!! Communication by email once we arrived and had questions or concerns prompted fast responses and resolutions. Property management visits daily and was very willing to visit and make sure everything was good. The cabin was clean, cool, and fully stocked. I only suggest you bring cast iron to use on the grill if you want to cook more than one thing at a time since the cook top is a single electric coil. The incinerating toilet was a little intimidating, but worked fine when used as directed. The property was well kept and the kyaks/paddleboards/rope swings were more available than we expected, everyone showed common courtesy and we had a wonderful time. Cant wait to go back!!!
So youre looking at this place to see if you want to do glamping..The pictures dont really give you an excellent idea of what the property looks like..There are a bunch of cabins raised up off the ground (possibly for plumbing issues or minimizing animals to get your food). The cabins are tightly packed so its not really a secluded vacation, but all of the people we met were pretty friendly and respectable..Our cabin the ac went out multiple times..There is ZERO internet - which I know you really dont want to need - but when youre looking for places to eat and visit - you need internet. Cellular signal also is non-existant..The creek is fun. Dont expect to have great showers etc. Everything is shared. Toilets are your own but Ive never used a toilet that burns your waste before....Anyhow, its a decent enough place. Kids had fun. But you need to bring everything, dont expect excellent service if something goes out..The hot tub wasnt working..Youll spend almost $1000 for a long weekend..I would not return.
Had a great time. Something different than just another hotel.
Its a shame...this place could be great if the amenities were better cared for.
Have to pay a cleaning fee and also clean out grill and utensils used but great spot. We will go back.
Place was very nice, but more money needs to be put in on upkeep. Like a second platform for the 2nd rope swing instead of a picnic table. New grip strips for the dock that gets used 16 hours out of each day. Replace lightbulbs on the tree houses railings. There were several broken bulbs but the sockets still in the lights that could be an electrocution problem especially for children. As far as the stay and the creek and atmosphere it was absolutely perfect. Just need to work out a few things and youll get 5 stars, but for me and mine you get a 4.
Fully stocked game room, spring fed creek with rope swings. The kids had a great time and the parents enjoyed the relative quiet (except for the whoops and hollers from the swimming kids). The teepees are a little more secluded, but sharing a pair of the big cabins with some friends is really the way to go.
Had a great time. The cabins are nice and one year we stayed in tipi. That was cool. They sit in the back in own area. Like that a lot
What an enjoyable experience! The getaway cabins exceeded our expectations by far. Everything was decorated very well and had all the luxuries of home. The little ones had a blast roasting marshmallows and playing in the game room at night, and then kayaking and stand up paddle boarding during the day. We cant wait to come back!
My husband needed to decompress, so we rented out a unit here at Geronimo Creek Retreat. Its our first time here. Let me just say we are very pleased. Its extremely kid and family friendly. The units are fully stocked. You dont need to bring anything except food to cook on the grill or you can drive out to eat. We wanted to stay close to home, because you never know how its going to be with an infant. I must say, even my infant was happy this entire trip.
I fell in love with this place. It’s very peaceful and I highly recommend it to anyone! The staff there are very friendly and I recommend talking to Grace if you need anything. She helped us a lot with our stay at Geronimo Creek retreat.
We had an excellent time here! Plan on coming back in October.
Loved it! Brought my kids here for a glamping trip one weekend when my husband was out of town! We stayed in one of their getaway cabins, it was the perfect experience! They have everything set up so you get the feel of camping but it literally has all the amenities and more of a hotel room! There was so much to do there for the kids, they loved the creek, game room, hot tub, fishing and kayaking! Would recommend to everyone looking to have a fun time with or without kids!
This is glamping at its best. We stayed in a canvas tent with our kids and had a lot of fun. The rooms have two queen beds and s sleeping couch. The sleeping area is air conditioned and has access to Satellite TV. Outside the sleeping area is a sitting porch area with a simple kitchen with a sundeck, sink, micro fridge and microwave. Theres a simple toilet without a shower attached to every cabin. Included in the price is the use of paddle boards, kayaks and swimming areas.
Fun, family friendly location for a quick getaway. Clean site and friendly staff. Kids really enjoyed the rope swings, kayaks, and paddle boards. The spring fed creek keeps the waste temperature VERY low!
Booked the Prairie Flower for a girls weekend! What a delightful.surprise. It was super clean. Basic provisions like coffee, hair dryer, towels cooking equipment are included. Did I mention it was CLEAN? Very secure, totally fun! Highly recommend. Great for families.
This was a really cool place! The queen beds upstairs were extremely comfortable. The couch was comfortable the kitchen did what we needed it to do. This place at night is really cool. If the management looks at this stuff, there were yellow jackets and bees all around Prairie Flower. 11/12/16 but its a great place.
Do not go here they have a bedbug infestation.
We enjoyed our stay and the cabin was nice. However a few noteworthy items that werent up to expectations. The wifi is very weak and difficult to access and the remotes dont turn on the TVs. The cabin is technologically challenged. We enjoyed the kayaks, but dont expect a long, clear flowing creek. My kids were trying to choose between calling it a bog or a swamp. Definitely check the water quality before letting your kids swim there. The water is green.
This place is horrible, too loud, too crowded. Construction too early and on a holiday.
This place surpassed our expectations in every way! Spotlessly clean, outfitted with everything we needed and beyond (coffee, coffee maker, coffee filter, cream and sugar were a nice surprise.) the cabins are beautifully decorated!
Really fun watch out for snakes tho and beez
